in_o any_o day_n of_o their_o life_n past_a which_o i_o humble_o beseech_v the_o lord_n to_o grant_v both_o to_o myself_o and_o they_o even_o for_o his_o christ_n sake_n the_o second_o part_n of_o this_o treatise_n contain_v a_o direction_n how_o to_o apply_v god_n promise_n to_o our_o particular_a occasion_n for_o the_o better_a understanding_n and_o practice_n of_o this_o duty_n of_o which_o that_o be_v famous_a in_o the_o book_n of_o martyr_n of_o mr_n laurence_n saunders_n who_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o reign_n of_o queen_n mary_n see_v the_o alteration_n of_o religion_n manifest_v his_o great_a fear_n to_o suffer_v martyrdom_n unto_o doctor_n penington_n who_o be_v a_o big_a fat_a man_n say_v he_o will_v see_v every_o drop_n of_o his_o grease_n melt_v before_o he_o scripture_n both_o by_o precept_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o faithful_a nothing_o more_o common_a then_o to_o call_v god_n people_n to_o repentance_n which_o contain_v all_o these_o by_o god_n have_v the_o promise_n of_o this_o life_n aswell_o as_o of_o the_o life_n to_o come_v it_o can_v be_v doubt_v but_o in_o all_o those_o general_a promise_n wherein_o god_n say_v he_o will_v dwell_v with_o his_o and_o not_o forsake_v they_o that_o god_n will_v love_v and_o bless_v his_o people_n that_o he_o will_v be_v their_o god_n will_v rejoice_v over_o they_o to_o do_v they_o good_a will_v have_v most_o need_n of_o they_o and_o this_o may_v be_v sufficient_a to_o have_v speak_v of_o this_o point_n for_o the_o strengthen_n of_o our_o faith_n in_o the_o assurance_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o want_v any_o earthly_a blessing_n which_o shall_v be_v needful_a for_o us._n but_o see_v the_o lord_n have_v so_o far_o yield_v to_o our_o infirmity_n promise_n special_a promise_n as_o to_o apply_v his_o promise_n to_o our_o special_a necessity_n it_o shall_v be_v available_a for_o our_o comfort_n to_o take_v knowledge_n of_o they_o that_o so_o we_o may_v make_v our_o use_n of_o they_o as_o need_n shall_v require_v among_o all_o earthly_a blessing_n life_n long_o life_n life_n itself_o be_v the_o chief_a for_o upon_o it_o
which_o benefit_n be_v so_o desire_v and_o not_o attain_v without_o affliction_n shall_v make_v we_o rejoice_v in_o they_o 4._o comfort_n in_o affliction_n god_n will_v help_v we_o and_o deliver_v which_o we_o be_v oft_o to_o meditate_v that_o we_o may_v hold_v out_o to_o the_o end_n and_o so_o overcome_a we_o may_v enjoy_v all_o those_o rich_a promise_n mention_v in_o the_o second_o and_o and_o the_o measure_n how_o much_o it_o shall_v seem_v good_a to_o his_o wisdom_n to_o bestow_v on_o us._n and_o for_o my_o part_n i_o will_v not_o cease_v to_o pray_v unto_o god_n for_o they_o all_o that_o he_o will_v fulfil_v all_o the_o good_a pleasure_n of_o his_o goodness_n and_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n with_o power_n so_o be_v it_o finis_fw-la
