want_n or_o absence_n of_o goodness_n again_o after_o it_o be_v receive_v into_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n it_o continue_v and_o abide_v in_o the_o power_n and_o faculty_n thereof_o and_o so_o it_o carry_v the_o name_n of_o a_o habit_n it_o may_v be_v say_v again_o that_o lust_n and_o concupiscence_n that_o be_v original_a sin_n draw_v the_o heart_n away_o from_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o evil_a inclination_n or_o action_n but_o if_o we_o consider_v it_o in_o it_o own_o nature_n it_o be_v no_o inclination_n or_o action_n but_o a_o want_n for_o example_n in_o a_o murder_n we_o must_v consider_v two_o thing_n one_o be_v the_o action_n of_o move_v the_o body_n and_o of_o hold_v up_o the_o weapon_n etc._n etc._n which_o be_v no_o sin_n proper_o if_o it_o be_v consider_v as_o a_o action_n because_o every_o action_n come_v from_o god_n who_o be_v the_o first_o cause_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o action_n again_o in_o murder_n there_o be_v a_o second_o thing_n namely_o the_o kill_a or_o slay_v of_o the_o man_n which_o be_v the_o disorder_n or_o aberration_n in_o the_o action_n whereby_o it_o be_v dispose_v to_o a_o wrong_a use_n and_o end_n and_o thus_o the_o action_n be_v a_o sin_n namely_o in_o respect_n it_o want_v conformity_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n the_o nature_n then_o of_o the_o sin_n lie_v not_o in_o the_o action_n but_o in_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v the_o action_n and_o sin_n proper_o be_v nothing_o formal_o subsist_v or_o exist_v for_o then_o god_n shall_v be_v the_o author_n of_o it_o in_o as_o much_o as_o he_o be_v the_o creator_n and_o ordainer_n of_o every_o thing_n and_o action_n
but_o it_o be_v a_o ataxy_n or_o absence_n of_o goodness_n and_o uprightness_n in_o the_o thing_n that_o subsist_v therefore_o it_o be_v well_o and_o positivum_fw-la true_o say_v in_o school_n in_o and_o as_o a_o man_n that_o look_v upon_o the_o sun_n if_o he_o turn_v his_o face_n away_o remain_v turn_v until_o he_o turn_v himself_o again_o so_o he_o that_o turn_v from_o god_n by_o any_o sin_n make_v himself_o a_o sinner_n and_o so_o remain_v until_o he_o turn_v himself_o again_o by_o repentance_n thus_o david_n be_v a_o sinner_n not_o only_o in_o the_o very_a act_n of_o his_o adultery_n and_o murder_n but_o even_o when_o the_o act_n be_v do_v and_o pass_v he_o remain_v still_o a_o murderer_n and_o a_o adulterer_n because_o a_o new_a or_o rather_o a_o renew_a proneness_n to_o these_o after_o diligence_n and_o good_a pain_n take_v still_o remain_v ignorant_a this_o ignorance_n will_v not_o excuse_v any_o man_n if_o it_o be_v of_o such_o thing_n as_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o know_v for_o it_o be_v faide_v he_o that_o do_v not_o his_o master_n will_v by_o reason_n he_o know_v it_o not_o shall_v be_v beat_v with_o stripe_n though_o few_o and_o in_o this_o regard_n even_o the_o obedience_n that_o man_n shall_v know_v he_o that_o be_v his_o will_n and_o word_n but_o some_o may_v demand_v how_o any_o man_n can_v be_v save_v see_v every_o man_n be_v ignorant_a of_o many_o thing_n which_o he_o ought_v to_o know_v ans._n if_o we_o know_v the_o ground_n of_o religion_n and_o be_v careful_a to_o obey_v god_n according_a to_o our_o knowledge_n have_v withal_o a_o care_n be_v not_o impute_v but_o pardon_v when_o there_o be_v repentance_n for_o know_a sin_n as_o for_o example_n david_n repent_v of_o his_o murder_n and_o adultery_n and_o yet_o afterward_o err_v in_o judgement_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o time_n he_o live_v to_o his_o death_n in_o the_o sin_n of_o polygamy_n without_o any_o particular_a repentance_n that_o we_o hear_v of_o trouble_v and_o oftentimes_o sickness_n &_o faint_n do_v follow_v but_o the_o thought_n that_o man_n conceive_v of_o themselves_o cause_v neither_o fear_n nor_o faint_a nor_o sickness_n four_o blasphemous_a thought_n can_v come_v ordinary_o from_o the_o heart_n of_o any_o save_v of_o those_o alone_a that_o be_v of_o reprobate_a mind_n but_o the_o party_n that_o be_v thus_o distress_v be_v honest_a civil_a and_o such_o as_o profess_v the_o gospel_n at_o least_o in_o show_n yea_o sometime_o they_o befall_v such_o as_o be_v the_o true_a member_n of_o christ._n therefore_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o they_o come_v from_o without_o even_o from_o the_o devil_n cast_v they_o into_o the_o mind_n and_o not_o from_o within_o a_o man_n own_o self_n in_o the_o next_o place_n inquirie_n must_v be_v make_v whether_o the_o party_n do_v approve_v love_n &_o like_o these_o and_o such_o like_a thought_n or_o no_o to_o this_o he_o will_v answer_v if_o he_o be_v ask_v that_o he_o abhor_v they_o as_o the_o devil_n and_o hell_n itself_o thus_o even_o natural_a man_n will_v answer_v and_o that_o true_o after_o inquirie_n thus_o make_v the_o remedy_n be_v to_o be_v apply_v and_o the_o by_o satan_n when_o she_o be_v apart_o from_o adam_n and_o our_o saviout_n christ_n when_o he_o be_v alone_o out_o of_o company_n and_o society_n than_o be_v he_o by_o the_o malice_n of_o the_o devil_n in_o the_o wilderness_n assault_v with_o strong_a and_o mighty_a tentation_n the_o four_o point_n to_o be_v remember_v of_o the_o party_n trouble_v be_v that_o he_o must_v as_o hearty_o and_o earnest_o repent_v he_o of_o those_o his_o evil_a thought_n as_o of_o evil_a word_n and_o deed_n for_o the_o truth_n be_v because_o man_n have_v no_o more_o care_n of_o their_o thought_n then_o common_o they_o have_v therefore_o the_o lord_n just_o suffer_v the_o devil_n to_o plague_v they_o and_o torment_v they_o by_o convey_n into_o their_o heart_n most_o vile_a and_o damnable_a their_o sin_n and_o therefore_o they_o will_v allege_v that_o their_o trouble_n arise_v from_o some_o evil_a thought_n from_o wicked_a affection_n and_o from_o the_o corruption_n of_o nature_n whereas_o common_o man_n be_v not_o distress_v in_o violent_a manner_n for_o evil_a thought_n affection_n &c_n &c_n but_o the_o violent_a distress_n come_v from_o some_o actual_a and_o odious_a sin_n or_o sin_n do_v which_o wind_v the_o conscience_n and_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o great_a distraction_n of_o mind_n and_o they_o be_v many_o which_o have_v be_v upon_o occasion_n before_o rehearse_v i_o
