to_o god_n for_o refuge_n by_o christ_n and_o be_v without_o fear_n as_o if_o he_o have_v not_o sin_v 2.2_o yea_o and_o hold_v fast_o his_o confidence_n that_o god_n yet_o love_v he_o who_o i_o say_v for_o though_o natural_a reason_n even_o flesh_n bear_v a_o great_a stroke_n in_o this_o matter_n yet_o we_o be_v not_o debtter_n to_o it_o and_o we_o have_v great_a cause_n while_o we_o live_v to_o do_v this_o so_o that_o although_o i_o confess_v that_o in_o nature_n it_o be_v otherwise_o that_o a_o man_n can_v always_o admire_v the_o greatness_n of_o some_o rare_a deliverance_n or_o fortunate_a estate_n befall_v he_o by_o his_o friend_n which_o at_o the_o first_o raise_v great_a admiration_n yet_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v far_o otherwise_o with_o the_o spiritual_a man_n be_v a_o believe_a christian_a he_o i_o say_v have_v the_o love_a countenance_n of_o god_n shine_v daily_o upon_o he_o as_o before_o which_o be_v a_o treasure_n unualuable_a shall_v wonder_v at_o the_o continuance_n of_o it_o especial_o see_v he_o provoke_v the_o lord_n with_o his_o sin_n daily_o renew_v may_v therefore_o fear_v that_o such_o former_a comfort_n as_o have_v be_v enjoy_v may_v have_v be_v turn_v into_o as_o great_a sorrow_n and_o his_o light_n into_o darkness_n rather_o than_o be_v continue_v and_o multiply_v and_o this_o he_o shall_v do_v unless_o through_o unthankfulnes_n the_o corruption_n of_o nature_n lead_v he_o thereto_o he_o bury_v the_o same_o in_o oblivion_n and_o begin_v to_o affect_v too_o much_o and_o to_o be_v over_o near_o glue_v to_o thing_n present_a and_o temporary_a set_v the_o creature_n before_o the_o creator_n and_o the_o gift_n before_o the_o giver_n for_o thereby_o he_o shall_v no_o doubt_n slack_v his_o meruail_n at_o that_o kindness_n of_o god_n that_o have_v never_o end_n although_o it_o be_v most_o precious_a whereas_o otherwise_o he_o shall_v be_v able_a from_o day_n to_o day_n to_o bear_v down_o all_o transitory_a thing_n before_o he_o with_o the_o estimation_n and_o high_a prize_v of_o it_o and_o this_o of_o the_o second_o companion_n of_o faith_n namely_o holy_a admire_v the_o greatness_n of_o god_n kindness_n love_n but_o that_o i_o may_v not_o dwell_v upon_o this_o matter_n who_o have_v purpose_v but_o in_o brief_a manner_n to_o show_v what_o a_o train_n of_o heavenly_a companion_n do_v attend_v upon_o this_o faith_n and_o certainty_n of_o god_n eternal_a favour_n and_o to_o leave_v the_o meditation_n of_o and_o upon_o it_o to_o the_o reverend_a and_o devout_a reader_n another_o therefore_o be_v hearty_a and_o unfeigned_a love_n in_o he_o who_o feel_v this_o love_n of_o god_n shed_v into_o his_o heart_n return_v to_o he_o again_o the_o which_o although_o in_o hollowness_n and_o hypocrisy_n the_o most_o affirm_v bold_o to_o be_v in_o they_o towards_o god_n before_o they_o have_v find_v and_o feel_v themselves_o to_o be_v belove_v of_o he_o yet_o the_o scripture_n teach_v we_o that_o it_o be_v far_o otherwise_o 15.16_o see_v we_o have_v not_o love_v he_o but_o he_o have_v love_v we_o first_o but_o when_o we_o see_v indeed_o what_o great_a thing_n god_n have_v do_v for_o we_o from_o what_o be_v lover_n of_o pleasure_n more_o than_o lover_n of_o god_n as_o other_o be_v yet_o now_o that_o we_o know_v god_n bountifulness_n towards_o we_o and_o the_o vanity_n of_o our_o fond_a delight_n we_o have_v our_o heart_n more_o set_v upon_o god_n then_o upon_o the_o best_a pleasure_n which_o we_o enjoy_v thing_n and_o although_o sometime_o before_o this_o we_o love_v father_n mother_n friend_n good_n more_o than_o god_n when_o we_o be_v mere_o natural_a yet_o now_o that_o we_o know_v god_n yea_o rather_o be_v know_v of_o god_n we_o have_v our_o heart_n set_v on_o he_o as_o be_v our_o chief_a treasure_n for_o this_o our_o spiritual_a kindred_n with_o jesus_n christ_n have_v knit_v we_o to_o he_o with_o a_o far_o more_o near_a bond_n of_o love_n and_o therefore_o we_o rest_v in_o he_o joy_n in_o he_o and_o satisfy_v ourselves_o with_o he_o for_o there_o shall_v be_v ever_o cause_n so_o to_o do_v and_o that_o without_o weariness_n there_o be_v no_o end_n of_o his_o bounty_n and_o kindness_n his_o mercy_n endure_v for_o ever_o and_o who_o do_v not_o see_v that_o such_o infinite_a love_n of_o god_n to_o we_o may_v provoke_v and_o raise_v up_o in_o we_o truth_n find_v thankfulness_n how_o can_v there_o be_v but_o unfeigned_a thankfulness_n and_o acknowledge_v of_o this_o gift_n of_o god_n to_o his_o great_a praise_n when_o we_o shall_v weigh_v what_o he_o have_v do_v for_o our_o soul_n and_o what_o solace_n he_o have_v fill_v our_o life_n withal_o which_o otherwise_o must_v needs_o be_v full_a of_o deadness_n or_o deceivable_a and_o unsavourie_a folly_n they_o must_v of_o necessity_n work_v the_o same_o affection_n in_o we_o which_o be_v in_o the_o man_n of_o god_n mention_v in_o the_o psal_n 116.12_o what_o shall_v i_o give_v unto_o the_o lord_n for_o all_o his_o mercy_n i_o will_v praise_v his_o name_n before_o his_o congregation_n and_o commit_v myself_o whole_o to_o his_o government_n hereafter_o who_o heretofore_o have_v regard_v save_v he_o honour_v he_o who_o will_v save_v he_o for_o his_o love_n constrain_v he_o so_o to_o do_v which_o although_o it_o be_v most_o true_a and_o will_v be_v grant_v of_o the_o great_a part_n yet_o because_o many_o content_n themselves_o to_o affirm_v it_o only_o and_o other_o in_o a_o general_a manner_n do_v cold_o go_v about_o it_o i_o mean_v to_o honour_n god_n and_o show_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o faith_n which_o they_o think_v they_o have_v as_o though_o any_o little_a will_v serve_v i_o think_v it_o very_o meet_a to_o set_v down_o some_o special_a proof_n of_o it_o that_o can_v be_v except_v against_o and_o first_o by_o that_o place_n to_o titus_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o have_v appear_v 2.12_o teach_v we_o to_o deny_v ungodliness_n and_o worldly_a lust_n and_o to_o live_v holy_o righteous_o and_o sober_o in_o this_o present_a life_n he_o say_v plain_o if_o we_o be_v once_o enlighten_v by_o that_o divine_a grace_n and_o gift_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o see_v ourselves_o partaker_n of_o salvation_n we_o be_v by_o the_o same_o knowledge_n teach_v and_o so_o learn_v it_o to_o renounce_v our_o old_a conversation_n so_o that_o even_o as_o a_o scholar_n plain_o teach_v by_o his_o master_n become_v skilful_a in_o those_o point_n wherein_o he_o be_v instruct_v so_o be_v a_o man_n teach_v to_o see_v god_n worthy_a all_o honour_n and_o to_o give_v it_o he_o by_o cast_v away_o the_o work_n of_o darkness_n when_o he_o see_v that_o he_o have_v bring_v he_o out_o of_o most_o woeful_a bondage_n into_o the_o glorious_a liberty_n of_o god_n child_n and_o be_v it_o any_o marvel_n for_o what_o will_v we_o not_o be_v ready_a to_o do_v for_o such_o a_o one_o as_o have_v but_o once_o save_v our_o life_n from_o death_n how_o much_o more_o do_v all_o they_o which_o know_v that_o they_o be_v discharge_v for_o ever_o from_o fearful_a damnation_n see_v infinite_a cause_n why_o they_o shall_v change_v their_o wicked_a life_n which_o so_o much_o displease_v god_n and_o be_v also_o ready_a to_o do_v the_o same_o be_v not_o therefore_o deceive_v god_n be_v not_o mock_v by_o they_o who_o profess_v they_o look_v to_o be_v save_v and_o do_v not_o bring_v forth_o fruiteworthie_a amendment_n godliness_n it_o be_v not_o a_o bare_a wander_a desire_n to_o please_v god_n which_o this_o precious_a faith_n and_o assurance_n of_o salvation_n work_v but_o it_o frame_v also_o the_o man_n unto_o it_o and_o teach_v he_o in_o some_o true_a and_o acceptable_a measure_n to_o go_v about_o it_o the_o tiding_n of_o this_o treasure_n appear_v so_o glorious_a to_o agrippa_n be_v a_o king_n and_o therefore_o acquaint_v with_o earthly_a felicity_n and_o a_o heathen_a and_o therefore_o unfit_a to_o see_v very_o easy_o into_o spiritual_a thing_n 5._o yet_o this_o appear_v so_o glorious_a tiding_n to_o he_o when_o he_o hear_v it_o by_o paul_n not_o preach_v in_o the_o pulpit_n but_o stand_v a_o prisoner_n at_o the_o bar_n 26.28_o that_o it_o cause_v he_o at_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n word_n and_o his_o faithful_a servant_n another_o to_o love_v the_o christian_a life_n but_o from_o tooth_n outward_a and_o diverse_a man_n diverse_o bewitch_v but_o all_o of_o they_o to_o love_v darkness_n more_o than_o light_n because_o their_o deed_n be_v evil_a joh._n 3.19_o i_o marvel_v not_o at_o it_o they_o do_v after_o their_o nature_n and_o kind_n as_o they_o be_v conversant_a with_o they_o and_o namely_o that_o one_o time_n when_o he_o go_v into_o judea_n to_o raise_v lazarus_n from_o death_n who_o answer_v say_v to_o he_o when_o they_o hear_v he_o provoke_v our_o present_a estate_n of_o peace_n and_o quietness_n wherein_o we_o be_v and_o whole_o possess_v all_o our_o sense_n and_o scatter_v our_o former_a comfort_n as_o if_o they_o never_o have_v be_v any_o whereas_o the_o lord_n have_v to_o that_o end_n under-propped_n we_o before_o with_o strong_a consolation_n that_o when_o affliction_n come_v we_o may_v the_o better_o bear_v they_o and_o retain_v our_o peace_n with_o he_o such_o as_o his_o word_n have_v before_o warn_v we_o of_o as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o john_n beside_o many_o other_o place_n these_o thing_n i_o have_v say_v unto_o you_o 16.33_o speak_v of_o his_o comfortable_a doctrine_n which_o he_o have_v before_o teach_v they_o that_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o your_o tribulation_n you_o may_v have_v peace_n in_o i_o this_o
