prepare_v oil_n ready_a for_o our_o lamp_n serious_o oft_o time_n to_o catechise_v our_o soul_n with_o the_o the_o like_a question_n of_o the_o psalmist_n wherewithal_o shall_v a_o young_a man_n cleanse_v his_o way_n and_o make_v answer_v with_o my_o text_n remember_v now_o thy_o creator_n in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n in_o the_o handle_n of_o which_o word_n three_o thing_n i_o shall_v brief_o commend_v unto_o you_o first_o i_o will_v propose_v some_o reason_n and_o motive_n to_o persuade_v the_o young_a man_n to_o be_v thus_o mindful_a of_o his_o creator_n second_o i_o will_v remove_v those_o excuse_n which_o all_o youth_n for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v ready_a to_o pretend_v for_o the_o neglect_n of_o this_o duty_n last_o i_o will_v close_v up_o all_o with_o some_o short_a and_o useful_a remembrance_n which_o may_v serve_v to_o imprint_v and_o fasten_v this_o so_o necessary_a duty_n into_o the_o meditation_n and_o practice_n of_o our_o soul_n in_o the_o handle_n whereof_o though_o i_o have_v here_o a_o young_a man_n only_o to_o remember_v yet_o you_o shall_v see_v no_o age_n shall_v be_v forget_v to_o begin_v then_o with_o the_o first_o remember_v now_o thy_o creator_n in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n and_o even_o for_o this_o cause_n in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o youth_n because_o thou_o know_v not_o whither_o ever_o thou_o shall_v live_v till_o thou_o be_v old_a for_o the_o life_n of_o man_n it_o be_v as_o a_o shadow_n and_o our_o day_n be_v now_o but_o a_o span_n long_o nay_o even_o this_o short_a measure_n as_o by_o sad_a experience_n we_o have_v that_o it_o be_v no_o paradox_n to_o maintain_v against_o the_o great_a philosopher_n that_o junenis_fw-la est_fw-la magis_fw-la idoneus_fw-la auditor_n moralis_fw-la and_o divinae_fw-la philosophiae_fw-la too_o that_o a_o young_a timothy_n be_v a_o fit_a auditor_n of_o a_o lecture_n of_o divinity_n than_o a_o old_a nicodemus_n age_n i_o confess_v to_o give_v it_o its_o due_a honour_n have_v far_o great_a for_o first_o youth_n it_o be_v bashful_a and_o modest_a and_o modesty_n say_v the_o philosopher_n if_o it_o be_v not_o a_o virtue_n it_o be_v virtue_n companion_n and_o thus_o much_o christianity_n also_o seem_v to_o acknowledge_v when_o we_o say_v of_o a_o man_n that_o be_v not_o yet_o past_a shame_n that_o sure_o he_o be_v not_o yet_o past_a grace_n for_o shame_v ofttimes_o it_o be_v the_o guardian_n of_o grace_n and_o many_o sin_n there_o be_v for_o the_o forbearance_n whereof_o even_o the_o best_a soul_n be_v sometime_o as_o much_o behold_n to_o their_o modesty_n as_o to_o their_o religion_n but_o age_n you_o know_v it_o be_v more_o bold_a and_o dare_a and_o therefore_o ofttimes_o for_o want_v of_o virtue_n companion_n virtue_n herself_o prove_v you_o see_v how_o long_o he_o lay_v his_o hand_n upon_o his_o mouth_n before_o ever_o he_o dare_v speak_v so_o that_o we_o see_v ofttimes_o the_o great_a be_v the_o old_a man_n liberty_n the_o great_a
