voice_n of_o his_o true_a prophet_n call_v they_o and_o his_o people_n by_o they_o thereunto_o as_o by_o moses_n joshua_n jehosaphat_n etc._n hezekiah_n nehemiah_n the_o king_n of_o ninevy_n and_o other_o even_o when_o he_o will_v but_o save_v they_o from_o the_o present_a temporal_a destruction_n and_o therefore_o as_o we_o be_v to_o sovereign_n pray_v instant_o for_o all_o the_o ruler_n in_o the_o several_a church_n so_o above_o all_o for_o our_o dread_a sovereign_n to_o who_o he_o have_v give_v such_o excellent_a understanding_n of_o his_o heavenly_a will_n and_o who_o he_o have_v bind_v unto_o himself_o by_o so_o many_o bond_n of_o such_o great_a deliverance_n &_o the_o like_a mercy_n and_o favour_n above_o all_o the_o king_n and_o prince_n of_o the_o earth_n that_o they_o may_v all_o yet_o whilst_o there_o be_v time_n now_o the_o lord_n call_v so_o evil_n loud_o upon_o they_o set_v themselves_o to_o inquire_v wise_o into_o the_o true_a cause_n of_o the_o evil_n already_o upon_o the_o church_n and_o of_o those_o which_o be_v further_o threaten_v that_o they_o may_v true_o consider_v we_o that_o all_o this_o be_v from_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o everlasting_a commiseration_n and_o fatherly_a pity_n tender_v we_o as_o his_o dear_a child_n thus_o call_v we_o all_o to_o a_o general_a and_o unfeigned_a repentance_n that_o he_o may_v spare_v we_o hand_n and_o inquire_v from_o his_o mouth_n of_o the_o mean_n yet_o leave_v to_o pacific_a and_o prevent_v the_o same_o and_o final_o that_o they_o may_v set_v themselves_o forthwith_o to_o put_v all_o the_o same_o in_o execution_n thereof_o with_o holy_a josiah_n and_o do_v in_o all_o thing_n belong_v thereunto_o as_o the_o lord_n himself_o direct_v and_o command_v for_o that_o this_o alone_a can_v bring_v comfort_n and_o boldness_n to_o they_o and_o they_o in_o assurance_n of_o the_o lord_n merciful_a love_n and_o favour_n and_o that_o they_o and_o they_o shall_v abide_v still_o and_o ever_o poor_a afflict_a church_n and_o child_n to_o be_v thus_o pursue_v by_o satan_n and_o drive_v into_o the_o wilderness_n so_o satan_n have_v get_v they_o thither_o he_o there_o principal_o exercise_v help_v &_o succour_n which_o be_v the_o height_n of_o misery_n and_o the_o very_a entrance_n into_o the_o lake_n or_o at_o least_o which_o be_v his_o usual_a faith_n manner_n with_o every_o one_o of_o we_o and_o wherein_o he_o can_v and_o do_v oft_o prevail_v with_o many_o of_o the_o dear_a saint_n and_o child_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o set_v on_o they_o day_n and_o night_n to_o cause_v they_o to_o doubt_v of_o the_o lord_n favour_n and_o love_n &_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o their_o religion_n the_o goodness_n of_o their_o cause_n the_o soundness_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o repentance_n or_o whether_o they_o have_v any_o faith_n or_o no_o see_v he_o so_o faith_n leave_v they_o to_o so_o many_o misery_n which_o if_o he_o love_v they_o he_o will_v not_o do_v then_o he_o make_v they_o possess_v the_o very_a sin_n of_o their_o youth_n set_v all_o of_o they_o before_o their_o face_n which_o ever_o they_o fall_v into_o in_o their_o whole_a life_n so_o much_o as_o he_o be_v able_a and_o aggravate_v every_o least_o slip_n or_o fail_v as_o if_o it_o be_v the_o most_o heinous_a sin_n that_o ever_o be_v commit_v then_o through_o melancholy_a passion_n and_o distemper_n into_o distemper_n which_o he_o can_v drive_v thou_o best_a by_o long_a affliction_n and_o by_o still_o urge_v his_o temptation_n &_o terror_n he_o can_v and_o use_v to_o cause_v they_o to_o accuse_v themselves_o fales_o false_o and_o for_o those_o thing_n wherein_o they_o be_v most_o innocent_a or_o for_o the_o best_o thing_n that_o ever_o they_o have_v do_v and_o so_o can_v increase_v their_o misery_n both_o bodily_a and_o spiritual_a the_o right_a meditation_n of_o these_o and_o other_o like_a misery_n which_o these_o he_o drive_v they_o into_o mâ—…st_v needs_o cause_v we_o to_o commiserate_v their_o poor_a and_o woeful_a estate_n and_o the_o due_a consideration_n of_o the_o present_a danger_n to_o ourselves_o of_o the_o like_a
or_o to_o make_v any_o petition_n to_o his_o heavenly_a majesty_n more_o particular_a meditation_n hereof_o more_o particular_o for_o the_o sure_a better_a help_n and_o direction_n of_o every_o young_a and_o weak_a christian_n because_o this_o be_v that_o whereupon_o all_o our_o hope_n for_o our_o prayer_n do_v principal_o rely_v that_o we_o in_o the_o first_o place_n meditate_v and_o ponder_v careful_o of_o these_o thing_n think_v to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o may_v be_v able_a to_o cry_v thus_o in_o faith_n o_o our_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n we_o must_v make_v sure_a that_o we_o be_v his_o child_n indeed_o &_o that_o we_o do_v not_o deceive_v ourselves_o as_o the_o great_a part_n do_v even_o of_o those_o that_o live_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o church_n and_o therefore_o 1._o we_o must_v serious_o bethink_v ourselves_o what_o we_o nature_n be_v by_o our_o natural_a estate_n from_o our_o first_o father_n adam_n 47._o not_o heavenly_a but_o all_o earthly_a whole_o corrupt_a both_o in_o our_o 3._o nature_n &_o in_o all_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o deed_n child_n of_o disobedience_n yea_o child_n of_o satan_n and_o even_o of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n 2._o what_o we_o be_v already_o grace_n or_o must_v be_v by_o grace_n before_o we_o can_v have_v the_o favour_n of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n or_o can_v help_v in_o this_o work_n that_o we_o must_v be_v change_v throughout_o bear_v again_o make_v new_a creature_n &_o so_o as_o be_v say_v child_n of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n heavenly_a mind_v that_o be_v mind_v heavenly_a thing_n obedient_a
