like_a vile_a enormity_n and_o god-provoking_a sin_n may_v in_o a_o great_a measure_n be_v restrain_v if_o those_o person_n in_o every_o town_n and_o parish_n to_o who_o it_o pertain_v by_o virtue_n of_o their_o office_n to_o take_v cognizance_n of_o these_o and_o such_o like_a crime_n be_v but_o as_o vigilant_a and_o active_a as_o they_o may_v and_o ought_v to_o be_v to_o bring_v those_o that_o be_v find_v guilty_a of_o they_o to_o condign_a punishment_n but_o through_o the_o sloth_n and_o regardlesnesse_n of_o officer_n such_o offender_n grow_v bold_a and_o such_o crime_n become_v common_a such_o abomination_n be_v exceed_o multiply_v but_o oh_o that_o such_o will_v consider_v that_o all_o the_o sin_n of_o those_o place_n and_o person_n which_o they_o have_v receive_v power_n to_o restrain_v or_o punish_v and_o exercise_v it_o not_o be_v just_o chargeable_a upon_o their_o head_n and_o they_o stand_v guilty_a of_o they_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n for_o it_o be_v a_o sure_a rule_n facit_fw-la malum_fw-la qui_fw-la cum_fw-la potest_fw-la non_fw-la prohibet_fw-la facit_fw-la he_o that_o may_v hinder_v a_o evil_a and_o do_v not_o be_v guilty_a of_o it_o and_o if_o according_a to_o this_o rule_n all_o the_o oath_n curse_n drunkenness_n and_o profanation_n of_o the_o lord_n day_n which_o may_v have_v be_v prevent_v or_o punish_v by_o person_n invest_v with_o authority_n and_o power_n for_o that_o purpose_n be_v just_o chargeable_a upon_o they_o for_o their_o neglect_n of_o their_o duty_n in_o this_o case_n we_o may_v sure_o say_v without_o any_o slander_n many_o of_o our_o magistrate_n and_o officer_n however_o they_o may_v seem_v sober_a and_o religious_a person_n be_v the_o great_a swearer_n curser_n drunkard_n and_o sabbath-breaker_n in_o the_o land_n and_o doubtless_o many_o shall_v be_v indict_v and_o condemn_v for_o these_o sin_n at_o god_n tribunal_n in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n because_o they_o have_v not_o exercise_v the_o power_n wherewith_o they_o be_v entrust_v in_o their_o place_n for_o the_o punishment_n of_o they_o in_o other_o oh_o therefore_o stir_v up_o yourselves_o with_o zeal_n and_o faithfulness_n to_o the_o execution_n of_o your_o office_n the_o discharge_n of_o your_o duty_n in_o this_o kind_n that_o you_o may_v restrain_v sin_n in_o other_o and_o keep_v off_o gild_n
