the_o cause_n likewise_o of_o much_o vain_a and_o false_a swear_n of_o much_o brawl_n quarrel_v and_o contention_n and_o that_o when_o themselves_o or_o other_o be_v anger_v and_o fret_v by_o play_n that_o they_o do_v then_o fall_v out_o and_o bad_o entreat_v their_o wife_n their_o child_n their_o servant_n yea_o and_o their_o own_o father_n they_o also_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o scandal_n and_o make_v the_o good_n of_o each_o man_n common_a to_o all_o beside_o this_o reason_n many_o other_o there_o be_v worthy_a of_o great_a consideration_n which_o here_o i_o will_v set_v down_o most_o certain_a it_o be_v that_o who_o soever_o do_v communicate_v every_o day_n that_o his_o ghostly_a father_n do_v give_v he_o a_o open_a testimony_n that_o he_o be_v one_o of_o very_a singular_a virtue_n for_o this_o be_v a_o general_a receive_v opinion_n among_o all_o people_n that_o it_o do_v not_o pertain_v to_o any_o dailye_o to_o communicate_v but_o to_o holy_a person_n and_o thereforre_v it_o be_v a_o thing_n well_o to_o be_v consider_v how_o great_a danger_n of_o presumption_n and_o vain_a glory_n it_o be_v for_o weak_a soul_n and_o subject_v to_o tentation_n although_o very_o devoute_a and_o virtuous_a that_o they_o shall_v understande_v that_o their_o ghostly_a father_n have_v such_o a_o opinion_n of_o their_o virtue_n and_o that_o people_n look_v upon_o they_o with_o such_o eye_n and_o such_o a_o conceit_n of_o holy_a person_n ignorant_a we_o be_v not_o and_o experience_n teach_v how_o pass_v hear_v it_o be_v to_o overcome_v well_o the_o temptation_n of_o honour_n and_o worldly_a praise_n when_o it_o be_v offer_v as_o saint_n augustine_n do_v excellent_o note_v in_o these_o word_n how_o great_a force_n the_o love_n of_o honour_n and_o aurelium_fw-la worldly_a praise_n many_o person_n of_o a_o good_a &_o rare_a life_n and_o those_o which_o with_o great_a travail_n have_v get_v much_o virtue_n and_o great_a store_n of_o spiritual_a riches_n in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n in_o roman_n homil._n 3_o in_o 1._o johan._n &_o hom_n 17._o in_o cap._n 10._o add_v roman_n short_a time_n lose_v all_o as_o saint_z chrysostom_n affirm_v because_o when_o vain_a glory_n do_v tempt_v they_o they_o be_v overcome_v and_o pitiful_o overtake_v with_o that_o vice_n in_o such_o sort_n that_o leave_v the_o creator_n they_o put_v their_o chief_a felicity_n in_o offer_v weak_a and_o feeble_a soul_n though_o never_o so_o devoute_a &_o virtuous_a to_o so_o great_a a_o danger_n but_o rather_o necessary_a it_o be_v that_o they_o shall_v nourish_v they_o in_o true_a humility_n labour_v to_o have_v they_o well_o root_v in_o that_o virtue_n &_o to_o preserve_v they_o therein_o and_o to_o effect_v this_o very_o convenient_a it_o be_v that_o the_o ghostly_a father_n shall_v by_o no_o mean_n let_v they_o understande_v that_o other_o have_v any_o great_a conceit_n and_o opinion_n of_o they_o and_o that_o he_o shall_v what_o he_o can_v convenient_o take_v from_o they_o the_o occasion_n of_o all_o pride_n as_o singular_a thing_n be_v which_o may_v make_v they_o to_o be_v famous_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n and_o any_o thing_n else_o that_o may_v bring_v they_o honour_n and_o reputation_n and_o to_o induce_v they_o what_o he_o can_v to_o conceal_v all_o show_n of_o holiness_n according_a to_o that_o which_o else_o where_o have_v be_v say_v entreat_v of_o the_o virtue_n of_o humility_n and_o certain_a it_o be_v that_o many_o ghostlye_o father_n because_o they_o have_v without_o discretion_n commend_v their_o spiritull_n child_n set_v out_o their_o virtue_n and_o give_v they_o occasion_n to_o make_v ostentation_n thereof_o that_o they_o have_v be_v the_o cause_n that_o many_o tender_a plant_n have_v with_o the_o northern_a wind_n of_o pride_n wither_v &_o many_o that_o be_v well_o grow_v have_v by_o the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n be_v pull_v up_o by_o the_o root_n who_o for_o their_o ingratitude_n and_o vanity_n he_o have_v permit_v to_o fall_v to_o this_o may_v be_v add_v that_o by_o grant_v such_o leave_n they_o give_v occasion_n to_o other_o that_o be_v yet_o in_o firm_a and_o not_o so_o well_o prepare_v they_o be_v the_o occasion_n also_o that_o when_o any_o such_o person_n turn_v backward_o that_o frequentinge_v of_o the_o holy_a sacrament_n be_v much_o infamed_a and_o discredit_v among_o worldly_a man_n &_o that_o their_o tongue_n do_v readilye_o speak_v evil_a both_o of_o the_o penitent_n that_o come_v often_o unto_o they_o &_o also_o of_o their_o ghostly_a father_n and_o reason_v it_o be_v
