disagreeable_a to_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o because_o thou_o will_v fain_o preserve_v and_o keep_v all_o these_o or_o some_o of_o these_o or_o other_o that_o be_v not_o unlike_o these_o thou_o be_v willing_o ignorant_a of_o their_o sinfulness_n or_o wilful_o forget_v they_o or_o do_v careless_o pass_v they_o by_o and_o confess_v only_o such_o sin_n as_o thou_o can_v not_o well_o avoid_v acknowledge_v thou_o think_v if_o once_o thou_o confess_v these_o thing_n to_o be_v sin_n thou_o must_v be_v force_v to_o leave_v they_o for_o indeed_o it_o be_v perfect_a impudence_n to_o tell_v god_n that_o i_o sin_n against_o he_o in_o such_o thing_n and_o yet_o to_o go_v on_o in_o commit_v of_o they_o and_o therefore_o the_o only_a advice_n that_o can_v be_v give_v in_o this_o case_n be_v this_o look_v upon_o heaven_n as_o worth_a do_v any_o thing_n to_o gain_v it_o and_o thou_o will_v not_o be_v afraid_a either_o of_o know_v thy_o particular_a sin_n or_o of_o confess_v of_o they_o or_o of_o bend_v the_o force_n and_o power_n of_o thy_o soul_n against_o their_o insinuation_n iii_o we_o may_v easy_o guess_v at_o the_o reason_n why_o a_o carnal_a man_n wonder_n at_o the_o stir_n a_o penitent_n keep_v to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n he_o see_v not_o he_o know_v not_o what_o poison_n there_o be_v in_o sin_n a_o person_n who_o never_o trouble_v his_o head_n much_o about_o religion_n see_v a_o man_n or_o woman_n take_v on_o for_o their_o offence_n accuse_v themselves_o condemn_v themselves_o and_o inflict_v judgement_n of_o fast_v of_o mortification_n and_o of_o self-denial_n upon_o themselves_o no_o doubt_n will_v admire_v what_o ail_v the_o fool_n to_o keep_v such_o a_o whine_a and_o howl_v and_o put_v himself_o to_o such_o needless_a trouble_n to_o recover_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n which_o he_o fancy_n be_v to_o be_v have_v at_o as_o easy_a a_o rate_n as_o child_n smile_n and_o infant_n tear_n indeed_o if_o the_o love_n of_o god_n may_v be_v have_v with_o a_o wish_n and_o a_o man_n can_v no_o soon_o send_v for_o it_o but_o have_v it_o or_o be_v it_o a_o thing_n we_o can_v command_v to_o attend_v we_o at_o a_o minute_n warning_n prostration_n and_o lying_n on_o the_o ground_n and_o sackcloth_n and_o almsgiving_n in_o large_a proportion_n and_o all_o the_o rigorous_a ceremony_n of_o repentance_n will_v be_v fantastical_a and_o a_o mere_a distemper_n of_o the_o brain_n but_o when_o the_o man_n who_o god_n favour_v much_o vouchsafe_v his_o inspiration_n to_o and_o who_o converse_v with_o the_o fountain_n of_o wisdom_n with_o he_o that_o be_v the_o way_n and_o the_o life_n do_v all_o this_o and_o much_o more_o and_o recommend_v the_o same_o act_n of_o mortification_n to_o their_o successor_n and_o salomon_n horseleech_n cry_v still_o give_v give_v and_o if_o a_o man_n give_v his_o eye_n or_o taste_v the_o pleasure_n they_o desire_v to_o day_n to_o morrow_n they_o shall_v still_o crave_v more_o so_o that_o if_o a_o severe_a mortification_n do_v not_o stop_v and_o cast_v they_o off_o especial_o if_o he_o intend_v to_o be_v save_v he_o will_v continue_v a_o carnal_a man_n to_o his_o die_a day_n it_o have_v be_v the_o practice_n of_o all_o the_o primitive_a saint_n to_o inflict_v seasonable_a judgement_n on_o themselves_o not_o one_o but_o the_o great_a part_n have_v take_v that_o way_n
