degree_n because_o in_o a_o ordinary_a course_n god_n persuade_v no_o man_n by_o his_o own_o voice_n immediate_o but_o do_v this_o by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o messenger_n and_o minister_n who_o be_v or_o how_o can_v god_n be_v say_v to_o work_v that_o which_o have_v be_v wrought_v already_o or_o give_v be_v to_o that_o which_o have_v be_v already_o nothing_o can_v be_v a_o condition_n of_o itself_o and_o it_o be_v absurd_a to_o say_v that_o god_n be_v ready_a to_o work_v faith_n in_o we_o and_o cause_v we_o to_o believe_v if_o we_o believe_v already_o before_o he_o put_v forth_o this_o work_n of_o he_o objection_n against_o the_o former_a argument_n object_n 1_o against_o the_o first_o argument_n it_o be_v object_v that_o god_n may_v be_v say_v to_o work_v both_o the_o will_n and_o the_o deed_n and_o to_o cause_n man_n to_o walk_v in_o his_o statute_n etc._n etc._n because_o he_o concur_v with_o man_n will_n in_o the_o act_n of_o obey_v in_o the_o act_n of_o believe_v and_o the_o like_a answ_n but_o according_a to_o their_o doctrine_n this_o be_v only_o a_o general_a concourse_n or_o influence_n whereby_o he_o assist_v man_n will_n in_o these_o as_o in_o all_o other_o action_n that_o as_o if_o a_o man_n will_v speak_v walk_v or_o the_o like_a god_n be_v ready_a to_o concur_v with_o he_o in_o these_o thing_n so_o if_o he_o will_v believe_v he_o be_v ready_a to_o concur_v with_o he_o in_o the_o act_n of_o believe_v and_o by_o this_o mean_v god_n concur_v only_o ut_fw-la author_n naturae_fw-la non_fw-la ut_fw-la author_n gratiae_fw-la as_o a_o supporter_n of_o nature_n not_o a_o infuser_n of_o grace_n whereas_o in_o all_o spiritual_a action_n that_o man_n perform_v god_n do_v act_n upon_o he_o not_o only_o by_o a_o natural_a but_o a_o supernatural_a power_n whereby_o he_o move_v his_o will_n to_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n which_o he_o require_v as_o also_o to_o do_v it_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n and_o to_o the_o same_o end_n which_o he_o require_v to_o be_v of_o ourselves_o but_o to_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n 3._o this_o new_a motion_n of_o the_o will_v whereby_o it_o move_v and_o stir_v itself_o to_o repent_v and_o believe_v be_v a_o new_a entity_n and_o be_v whence_o can_v it_o proceed_v but_o from_o he_o in_o who_o we_o live_v move_v and_o have_v our_o be_v all_o gracious_a habit_n must_v have_v a_o first_o efficient_a that_o give_v there_o be_v some_o difference_n betwixt_o the_o natural_a and_o spiritual_a death_n as_o in_o all_o similitude_n there_o be_v some_o dissimilitude_n yet_o they_o agree_v in_o the_o main_a which_o be_v this_o that_o as_o he_o who_o be_v natural_o dead_a can_v prepare_v himself_o to_o live_v or_o put_v life_n into_o himself_o no_o nor_o hinder_v his_o own_o revive_n and_o quicken_n when_o god_fw-we will_v work_v it_o no_o more_o can_v he_o that_o be_v spiritual_o dead_a do_v this_o and_o though_o spiritual_a death_n sometime_o be_v compare_v to_o other_o thing_n as_o sickness_n sleep_n etc._n etc._n yet_o this_o hinder_v not_o but_o the_o soul_n may_v be_v true_o and_o whole_o dead_a because_o in_o divers_a respect_n it_o may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v sick_a and_o asleep_a and_o also_o dead_a sick_a because_o weak_a infirm_a and_o void_a of_o spiritual_a strength_n asleep_o because_o void_a of_o sense_n and_o disable_v for_o motion_n and_o action_n as_o a_o sleepy_a man_n be_v for_o a_o time_n dead_a because_o disable_v not_o only_o for_o the_o act_n but_o deprive_v of_o the_o faculty_n of_o spiritual_a action_n and_o motion_n and_o that_o not_o for_o a_o time_n but_o always_o unless_o god_n restore_v it_o by_o infuse_v spiritual_a life_n object_n but_o a_o dead_a man_n can_v resist_v the_o infusion_n of_o life_n whereas_o a_o dead_a sinner_n resist_v the_o work_n of_o grace_n answ_n though_o a_o sinner_n want_v the_o life_n of_o grace_n yet_o the_o sin_n which_o be_v in_o he_o want_v not_o life_n that_o old_a man_n and_o body_n of_o sin_n which_o whole_o possess_v he_o and_o prevail_v in_o he_o be_v lively_a quick_a and_o active_a cause_v a_o man_n to_o yield_v the_o member_n of_o his_o body_n as_o instrument_n of_o unrighteousness_n to_o commit_v iniquity_n rom._n 6.13_o always_o lust_a against_o the_o spirit_n gal._n 5.17_o this_o be_v no_o argument_n to_o prove_v that_o a_o man_n be_v not_o whole_o void_a of_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n because_o he_o like_a outward_a mean_n and_o like_a inward_a ability_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o man_n but_o god_n that_o make_v the_o difference_n because_o he_o dispense_v the_o mean_n to_o some_o in_o such_o a_o congruous_a manner_n and_o time_n when_o they_o be_v so_o fit_o dispose_v as_o he_o know_v they_o will_v receive_v grace_n offer_v which_o he_o do_v not_o to_o other_o answ_n though_o grace_n be_v offer_v in_o the_o most_o congruous_a manner_n and_o time_n that_o may_v be_v yet_o still_o he_o that_o receive_v may_v reject_v it_o if_o he_o will_v and_o he_o that_o reject_v may_v receive_v if_o he_o will_v and_o so_o it_o be_v man_n will_n that_o make_v the_o difference_n and_o since_o this_o congruous_a disposition_n whereby_o a_o man_n be_v more_o fit_a and_o ready_a at_o one_o time_n for_o receive_v of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n then_o at_o another_o do_v or_o may_v arise_v from_o natural_a cause_n hence_o it_o will_v follow_v that_o the_o efficacy_n of_o grace_n may_v be_v resolve_v into_o nature_n 2._o what_o congruity_n be_v there_o betwixt_o contrary_n what_o agreement_n be_v there_o betwixt_o righteousness_n and_o unrighteousness_n light_n and_o darkness_n 2_o cor._n 6.16_o if_o whatever_o be_v bear_v of_o the_o flesh_n be_v flesh_n and_o the_o flesh_n always_o lu_v against_o the_o spirit_n they_o be_v contrary_n gal._n 5.17_o

bear_v anew_o have_v this_o word_n so_o engraft_v in_o he_o as_o it_o shall_v never_o whole_o fall_v from_o he_o and_o so_o long_o as_o this_o remain_v life_n remain_v argument_n 9_o whatsoever_o any_o of_o these_o precious_a promise_n whereby_o they_o be_v assure_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v keep_v by_o the_o mighty_a power_n of_o god_n unto_o salvation_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o fall_v that_o none_o shall_v take_v they_o out_o of_o christ_n hand_n etc._n etc._n when_o as_o they_o know_v that_o they_o have_v a_o root_n of_o deficiency_n in_o themselves_o that_o they_o have_v that_o which_o will_v cause_v they_o to_o depart_v from_o the_o live_a god_n if_o they_o be_v not_o continual_o uphold_v if_o the_o promise_n of_o preservation_n depend_v upon_o ourselves_o and_o the_o right_a order_n of_o our_o own_o will_n so_o that_o god_n will_v not_o fail_v to_o support_v we_o so_o long_o as_o we_o stand_v fast_o and_o cleave_v close_o to_o he_o but_o if_o we_o fail_v and_o let_v go_v our_o hold_n he_o will_v likewise_o fail_v and_o let_v go_v his_o hold_n suffer_v we_o to_o fall_v what_o true_a comfort_n i_o say_v can_v this_o yield_v we_o in_o the_o time_n of_o privilege_n by_o these_o conditional_a promise_n belong_v to_o true_a believer_n that_o be_v within_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n more_o than_o to_o pagan_n or_o infidel_n and_o all_o that_o be_v without_o the_o covenant_n for_o even_o these_o if_o they_o will_v turn_v to_o god_n lay_v fast_o hold_v on_o he_o cleave_v constant_o to_o he_o may_v assure_v themselves_o that_o he_o will_v receive_v they_o gracious_o and_o for_o ever_o hold_v they_o fast_o while_o they_o continue_v to_o do_v this_o 4_o one_o grace_n which_o god_n have_v promise_v believer_n and_o which_o be_v conclude_v in_o the_o new_a covenant_n as_o a_o special_a branch_n of_o it_o be_v perseverance_n itself_o namely_o that_o he_o will_v put_v his_o fear_n into_o their_o heart_n so_o as_o they_o shall_v never_o
