james_z 1_o 2._o my_o brethren_n count_v it_o all_o joy_n when_o you_o fall_v in_o divers_a tentation_n the_o apostle_n mean_v affliction_n but_o think_v fit_a to_o represent_v it_o to_o they_o another_o on_o who_o the_o cross_n be_v indeed_o inflict_v and_o here_o by_o the_o way_n it_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v note_v how_o often_o we_o be_v in_o the_o wrong_n to_o god_n suspect_v he_o for_o his_o providence_n when_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n it_o be_v but_o a_o conflict_n with_o our_o own_o apprehension_n like_o hagar_n who_o be_v complain_v for_o the_o want_n of_o water_n and_o yet_o close_o beside_o a_o fountain_n but_o her_o eye_n be_v not_o open_v to_o see_v it_o two_o trial_n be_v call_v tentation_n because_o of_o the_o principal_a and_o chief_a scope_n of_o affliction_n be_v to_o winnow_v and_o try_v that_o the_o trial_n of_o your_o faith_n be_v more_o precious_a than_o gold_n 1_o pet._n 1_o 7._o the_o apostle_n point_v our_o their_o affliction_n there_o from_o the_o principal_a scop_n of_o it_o and_o here_o i_o will_v have_v you_o take_v notice_n of_o these_o three_o thing_n 1._o though_o god_n know_v we_o well_o enough_o and_o though_o saint_n try_v themselves_o yet_o we_o have_v need_v to_o be_v try_v by_o affliction_n there_o be_v a_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n as_o well_o as_o there_o be_v a_o mystery_n of_o godliness_n oftentimes_o in_o affliction_n there_o be_v something_o discover_v to_o we_o which_o for_o all_o our_o search_n of_o ourselves_o we_o can_v not_o have_v find_v out_o nor_o have_v believe_v have_v be_v in_o we_o like_o a_o pool_n trouble_v so_o be_v our_o heart_n in_o affliction_n their_o come_v up_o mud_n which_o we_o will_v not_o have_v think_v to_o have_v be_v there_o yea_o 2_o as_o the_o lord_n delight_v in_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o saint_n so_o he_o love_v to_o have_v some_o occasion_n to_o commend_v they_o in_o his_o saint_n he_o still_o retain_v his_o integrity_n though_o thou_o move_v i_o without_o a_o cause_n against_o he_o see_v how_o he_o boast_v of_o job_n as_o a_o master_n when_o a_o good_a scholar_n be_v examine_v therefore_o he_o love_v to_o try_v by_o affliction_n that_o he_o may_v have_v occasion_n to_o say_v o_o woman_n great_a be_v thy_o faith_n three_o the_o lord_n love_v to_o discover_v his_o people_n to_o other_o for_o 1._o by_o thy_o example_n other_o may_v be_v encourage_v what_o be_v the_o end_n of_o the_o lord_n record_v the_o valorous_a act_n of_o his_o saint_n their_o reward_n be_v full_a without_o this_o but_o to_o encourage_v other_o yea_o if_o thou_o faint_v in_o a_o trial_n other_o may_v be_v better_v by_o it_o why_o have_v the_o lord_n record_v in_o scripture_n the_o fail_n of_o some_o of_o his_o saint_n be_v it_o that_o the_o lord_n love_v to_o blot_v their_o name_n
