fill_v the_o world_n with_o sin_n and_o see_v this_o kind_n of_o people_n be_v so_o common_a every_o where_o that_o they_o go_v for_o honest_a man_n and_o good_a christian_n and_o they_o walk_v uncontrolled_a and_o unpunished_a and_o thereby_o be_v the_o less_o note_v to_o be_v so_o evil_a as_o they_o be_v the_o lord_n do_v oft_o take_v the_o matter_n into_o his_o own_o hand_n to_o detect_v and_o bewray_v they_o so_o as_o either_o they_o fall_v to_o some_o sin_n for_o which_o the_o magistrate_n take_v they_o in_o hand_n such_o be_v achan_n 24.10_o and_o he_o that_o blaspheme_v in_o leviticus_fw-la who_o both_o be_v put_v to_o death_n and_o thrust_v out_o from_o among_o their_o neighbour_n or_o else_o god_n punish_v their_o sin_n himself_o direct_o by_o let_v they_o lay_v violent_a hand_n on_o themselves_o as_o do_v ahitophel_n the_o three_o sort_n who_o cause_n iniquity_n to_o abound_v sort_n be_v the_o hypocrite_n proper_o so_o call_v who_o profess_v religion_n and_o take_v the_o word_n of_o god_n into_o their_o mouth_n but_o they_o hate_v to_o be_v reform_v and_o bold_o affirm_v that_o they_o know_v god_n 7.21_o but_o in_o their_o deed_n they_o deny_v he_o and_o say_v lord_n lord_n but_o do_v nothing_o less_o then_o go_v about_o to_o fulfil_v the_o will_n of_o the_o lord_n these_o cause_n the_o holy_a word_n of_o god_n to_o be_v ill_o speak_v of_o which_o they_o hear_v and_o talk_v of_o more_o than_o the_o most_o of_o other_o do_v and_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o commit_v sin_n the_o more_o bold_o under_o a_o colour_n and_o cloak_n of_o holiness_n which_o behaviour_n of_o they_o be_v a_o practice_n and_o common_a course_n of_o live_v with_o they_o so_o that_o daily_o much_o evil_n be_v wrought_v by_o they_o all_o that_o list_n may_v see_v that_o these_o also_o as_o the_o two_o former_a sort_n that_o i_o say_v no_o more_o of_o they_o as_o be_v so_o well_o know_v do_v cause_n iniquity_n to_o abound_v sort_n the_o four_o sort_n be_v they_o who_o be_v not_o proper_o call_v hypocrite_n with_o the_o former_a although_o hypocrisy_n bear_v much_o sway_n in_o they_o but_o they_o in_o many_o thing_n do_v obey_v god_n and_o the_o course_n of_o their_o life_n be_v much_o more_o frame_v after_o god_n word_n than_o all_o the_o former_a if_o they_o be_v put_v together_o also_o they_o do_v more_o straight_o urge_v good_a order_n in_o other_o as_o their_o place_n will_v give_v they_o leave_v &_o yet_o in_o some_o thing_n they_o will_v not_o be_v bring_v within_o compass_n but_o be_v wed_v to_o their_o will_n and_o know_v that_o they_o do_v ill_a some_o sin_n they_o entertain_v and_o take_v liberty_n to_o commit_v be_v not_o willing_a to_o search_v their_o heart_n nor_o to_o look_v into_o their_o way_n and_o so_o they_o deal_v also_o about_o faith_n they_o hold_v a_o confuse_a persuasion_n and_o hope_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v save_v but_o they_o can_v be_v bring_v to_o try_v it_o and_o therefore_o they_o be_v destitute_a both_o of_o it_o and_o good_a life_n now_o these_o also_o howsoever_o they_o come_v near_o a_o godly_a life_n then_o any_o of_o the_o former_a and_o that_o by_o many_o degree_n yet_o because_o they_o in_o some_o thing_n give_v themselves_o leave_v to_o offend_v and_o dishonour_n god_n and_o do_v not_o fear_v the_o lord_n with_o all_o their_o heart_n and_o in_o one_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o in_o another_o seek_v to_o please_v he_o therefore_o god_n abhor_v their_o sacrifice_n of_o praise_n and_o prayer_n and_o curse_v the_o obedience_n which_o they_o offer_v unto_o he_o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n s_o james_n have_v to_o deal_v with_o such_o people_n say_v unto_o they_o whosoever_o shall_v keep_v the_o whole_a law_n 2.10.11_o and_o yet_o fail_v in_o one_o point_n he_o be_v guilty_a of_o all_o for_o he_o that_o say_v thou_o shall_v not_o commit_v adultery_n say_v also_o thou_o shall_v not_o kill_v now_o then_o though_o thou_o do_v none_o adultery_n yet_o if_o thou_o kill_v thou_o be_v a_o transgressor_n of_o the_o law_n and_o thus_o while_o they_o have_v all_o their_o do_n reckon_v against_o they_o for_o sin_n as_o it_o have_v be_v prove_v that_o the_o best_a of_o they_o be_v no_o better_o they_o come_v within_o the_o rank_n of_o they_o who_o multiply_v iniquity_n and_o cause_n sin_n to_o be_v increase_v object_n and_o if_o it_o be_v object_v that_o there_o be_v other_o sort_n of_o people_n beside_o these_o four_o who_o increase_n sin_n in_o the_o land_n answ_n i_o answer_v that_o some_o of_o god_n child_n by_o their_o infirmity_n be_v in_o show_n like_o the_o former_a 8.46_o yet_o because_o they_o will_v not_o sin_n and_o do_v break_v out_o rather_o of_o infirmity_n then_o wilful_o and_o witting_o to_o lie_v therein_o and_o do_v endeavour_n in_o one_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o another_o to_o please_v god_n therefore_o they_o be_v not_o say_v to_o increase_v sin_n who_o do_v faithful_o labour_v to_o suppress_v and_o keep_v it_o down_o both_o in_o themselves_o and_o other_o and_o such_o must_v the_o other_o four_o sort_n be_v point_n before_o the_o lord_n will_v count_v and_o take_v they_o for_o he_o thus_o it_o be_v manifest_a use_n who_o they_o be_v that_o fill_v the_o world_n with_o sin_n that_o none_o can_v be_v ignorant_a of_o it_o who_o be_v not_o wilful_o blind_a now_o it_o remain_v what_o these_o shall_v do_v that_o be_v before_o all_o thing_n that_o they_o repent_v and_o seek_v mercy_n and_o hold_v it_o by_o faith_n both_o which_o as_o they_o have_v sufficient_a cause_n to_o look_v after_o with_o all_o speed_n because_o without_o the_o one_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n that_o be_v faith_n 11.6_o and_o without_o the_o other_o i_o mean_v repentance_n and_o amendment_n of_o life_n all_o diligence_n to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o ordinance_n for_o this_o blessing_n second_o the_o second_o be_v this_o that_o they_o search_v and_o try_v their_o way_n what_o be_v prophet_n joel_n exhort_v the_o people_n unto_o say_v read_v your_o heart_n that_o be_v 2.13_o by_o search_v into_o they_o to_o see_v the_o foulnes_n of_o they_o and_o not_o your_o garment_n and_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n your_o god_n and_o jeremy_n in_o his_o lamentation_n do_v the_o same_o 3.40_o when_o he_o say_v search_v your_o way_n and_o turn_v again_o unto_o the_o lord_n and_o this_o be_v the_o only_a way_n for_o such_o as_o have_v bring_v themselves_o out_o of_o favour_n with_o god_n and_o draw_v down_o his_o wrath_n upon_o themselves_o by_o multiply_a iniquity_n to_o recover_v that_o they_o have_v no_o less_o to_o testify_v it_o to_o they_o than_o this_o namely_o that_o they_o have_v the_o thirst_n which_o have_v be_v set_v down_o to_o be_v require_v and_o here_o for_o the_o more_o full_a handle_n of_o this_o point_n believe_v i_o will_v enter_v into_o the_o three_o branch_n of_o this_o first_o part_n that_o be_v to_o say_v what_o god_n require_v of_o they_o who_o thirst_n he_o will_v quench_v and_o that_o be_v that_o they_o come_v to_o he_o for_o it_o that_o be_v believe_v that_o he_o will_v do_v in_o deed_n as_o he_o promise_v even_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n of_o he_o that_o thirst_v with_o the_o thing_n that_o he_o desire_v and_o therefore_o with_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o salvation_n if_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n he_o thirst_v after_o this_o faith_n be_v that_o which_o the_o prophet_n require_v when_o he_o speak_v of_o come_v require_v it_o of_o they_o that_o they_o come_v even_o as_o our_o saviour_n also_o in_o saint_n john_n mean_v the_o same_o by_o come_v to_o he_o where_o he_o make_v come_v and_o believe_v â—â—_o both_o one_o he_o that_o come_v to_o i_o shall_v not_o hunger_n and_o he_o that_o believe_v in_o i_o shall_v never_o thirst_v meaning_n he_o shall_v never_o want_v spiritual_a nourishment_n namely_o that_o which_o his_o soul_n long_v for_o who_o believe_v in_o he_o so_o that_o we_o see_v it_o be_v require_v here_o that_o the_o thirsty_a person_n who_o be_v by_o the_o prophet_n call_v out_o from_o all_o other_o to_o drink_v and_o to_o be_v refresh_v shall_v believe_v that_o god_n mean_v as_o he_o speak_v and_o will_v do_v it_o indeed_o which_o stand_v with_o great_a reason_n that_o they_o shall_v do_v so_o for_o although_o the_o lord_n bequeath_v and_o free_o grant_v it_o unto_o they_o yet_o if_o they_o weigh_v it_o not_o and_o so_o give_v no_o credit_n to_o it_o how_o can_v they_o be_v the_o better_a for_o it_o neither_o need_v they_o fear_v that_o they_o shall_v presume_v and_o be_v too_o bold_a in_o clasp_v about_o and_o believe_v it_o for_o while_o they_o desire_v it_o 8.33_o and_o god_n promise_v to_o grant_v they_o their_o desire_n who_o shall_v take_v it_o from_o they_o no_o if_o it_o be_v easy_o doubt_v of_o and_o most_o of_o all_o by_o they_o who_o have_v least_o cause_n and_o this_o proof_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o testimony_n thereof_o i_o think_v it_o most_o fit_a to_o stay_v they_o up_o withal_o that_o they_o may_v not_o waver_v as_o they_o who_o have_v it_o not_o shall_v do_v and_o must_v needs_o though_o they_o speak_v great_a word_n about_o it_o and_o i_o can_v brieflier_n nor_o more_o pithy_o do_v it_o then_o by_o tell_v they_o that_o if_o they_o hold_v fast_o this_o precious_a promise_n of_o salvation_n by_o christ_n they_o must_v know_v that_o they_o receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o sanctification_n also_o which_o cry_v in_o they_o abba_n father_n and_o sanctify_v they_o and_o more_o plain_o thus_o that_o as_o they_o desire_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o their_o sin_n they_o desire_v and_o endeavour_n after_o the_o reformation_n of_o their_o life_n and_o the_o wean_n of_o their_o heart_n from_o evil_a also_o and_o this_o where_o it_o be_v wrought_v that_o i_o say_v no_o more_o of_o it_o in_o this_o place_n shall_v ever_o prove_v that_o there_o be_v this_o effectual_a faith_n this_o i_o have_v say_v of_o this_o first_o part_n and_o the_o three_o branch_n thereof_o and_o namely_o of_o this_o one_o kind_n of_o their_o thirst_v for_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o eternal_a life_n for_o there_o be_v other_o thirsting_n then_o for_o these_o as_o i_o give_v the_o reader_n to_o understand_v before_o whereof_o i_o will_v give_v you_o a_o taste_n though_o more_o brief_o in_o the_o next_o sermon_n see_v i_o have_v large_o handle_v this_o in_o the_o forementioned_a instance_n that_o it_o may_v give_v light_n to_o the_o reader_n that_o whatsoever_o good_a thing_n he_o thirst_v for_o he_o may_v be_v as_o sure_a that_o he_o shall_v obtain_v wander_v here_o on_o earth_n but_o be_v ever_o thirst_v after_o one_o good_a thing_n or_o other_o or_o some_o new_a measure_n of_o grace_n whatsoever_o they_o have_v be_v satisfy_v in_o already_o for_o otherwise_o they_o can_v not_o be_v include_v among_o they_o to_o who_o this_o promise_n be_v make_v neither_o have_v they_o their_o part_n in_o it_o when_o it_o be_v say_v ho_o all_o you_o that_o thirst_n come_v to_o the_o water_n and_o drink_n from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o some_o have_v attain_v to_o true_a faith_n yet_o as_o fervent_o desire_v to_o preserve_v and_o strengthen_v the_o same_o as_o they_o desire_v when_o they_o be_v before_o in_o great_a fear_n and_o doubt_v to_o have_v any_o measure_n at_o all_o thereof_o and_o so_o the_o lord_n require_v that_o we_o high_o esteem_v desire_v and_o long_o after_o the_o same_o and_o the_o salvation_n which_o we_o wait_v for_o thereby_o even_o as_o at_o the_o first_o acquaintance_n with_o they_o we_o do_v in_o like_a manner_n god_n faithful_a people_n know_v that_o he_o be_v as_o a_o flow_a fountain_n rich_a in_o all_o good_a thing_n and_o never_o draw_v dry_a they_o thirst_v still_o after_o other_o particular_a grace_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n when_o he_o have_v satisfy_v they_o with_o the_o former_a and_o namely_o hope_v love_n patience_n meekness_n humbleness_n strength_n to_o bear_v affliction_n and_o such_o like_a and_o he_o do_v no_o soon_o stir_v up_o in_o they_o the_o desire_n and_o longing_n after_o these_o but_o he_o do_v withal_o give_v they_o his_o word_n and_o promise_n that_o he_o will_v only_o the_o righteous_a man_n can_v be_v true_o joyful_a the_o worldly_a and_o the_o carnal_a he_o may_v rejoice_v in_o lawful_a thing_n but_o he_o can_v rejoice_v lawful_o but_o in_o a_o carnal_a and_o fleshly_a manner_n this_o joy_n neither_o proceed_v from_o god_n nor_o tend_v to_o god_n but_o rest_v in_o the_o matter_n neither_o be_v it_o rule_v by_o the_o direction_n of_o god_n word_n but_o be_v disorder_o carry_v by_o the_o sway_n of_o his_o profane_a and_o wicked_a heart_n and_o as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o we_o must_v believe_v in_o christ_n and_o know_v that_o our_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n before_o we_o can_v rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n so_o there_o be_v other_o sign_n whereby_o we_o may_v know_v it_o for_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n of_o such_o worth_a and_o that_o be_v how_o long_o we_o shall_v thirst_v for_o it_o seem_v unreasonable_a to_o many_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v hold_v always_o at_o one_o point_n as_o that_o either_o we_o shall_v ever_o be_v thirst_v for_o one_o grace_n or_o if_o that_o be_v not_o require_v of_o we_o yet_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v thirst_v still_o after_o some_o other_o to_o the_o which_o the_o answer_n be_v that_o we_o must_v always_o be_v thirst_v even_o so_o long_o as_o god_n have_v any_o good_a grace_n to_o give_v and_o till_o he_o be_v weary_a of_o bestow_v upon_o us._n which_o see_v it_o shall_v never_o be_v while_o we_o remain_v here_o god_n be_v a_o wellspring_n and_o fountain_n of_o all_o good_a thing_n never_o draw_v dry_a and_o more_o ready_a to_o give_v than_o we_o to_o ask_v it_o be_v for_o our_o as_o we_o yet_o want_v with_o the_o like_a appetite_n to_o desire_n and_o thirst_n for_o they_o as_o at_o the_o first_o anguish_n of_o mind_n and_o wound_n of_o conscience_n we_o do_v long_o for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o this_o of_o the_o time_n how_o long_o we_o ought_v to_o thirst_n which_o be_v the_o three_o point_n in_o this_o first_o part_n the_o four_o follow_v namely_o how_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o thirst_v and_o how_o it_o shall_v be_v uphold_v thirst_n which_o be_v such_o a_o worthy_a gift_n of_o god_n have_v not_o need_v to_o be_v neglect_v but_o as_o a_o appetite_n to_o bodily_a food_n for_o the_o preserve_n of_o health_n be_v by_o all_o mean_n to_o be_v maintain_v and_o seek_v the_o mean_n be_v neither_o costly_a nor_o hard_a to_o come_v by_o as_o in_o bodily_a dainty_n it_o fare_v but_o ready_a and_o at_o hand_n even_o to_o see_v our_o want_n in_o grace_n and_o emptiness_n thereof_o as_o how_o weak_a our_o faith_n be_v how_o faint_a our_o hope_n how_o cold_a our_o love_n and_o how_o hardly_o we_o have_v proof_n of_o our_o patience_n also_o to_o observe_v our_o corruption_n as_o touchinesse_n forwardness_n unclean_a desire_n wrath_n desire_v of_o revenge_n etc._n etc._n and_o in_o what_o bondage_n they_o hold_v us._n if_o we_o observe_v these_o in_o ourselves_o 2.2_o they_o will_v make_v we_o desire_v the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n to_o guide_v we_o aright_o also_o to_o watch_v and_o pray_v sigh_n and_o groan_n that_o we_o may_v resist_v the_o evil_a and_o nourish_v the_o good_a for_o as_o the_o husbandman_n by_o toil_v and_o sweat_v at_o hay_n and_o harvest_n provoke_v the_o bodily_a thirst_n so_o we_o labour_v with_o our_o heart_n to_o pluck_v up_o and_o to_o plant_v as_o there_o shall_v be_v cause_n shall_v thirst_v till_o we_o obtain_v that_o which_o we_o go_v about_o and_o desire_v and_o god_n who_o call_v we_o to_o it_o and_o promise_v large_o to_o satisfy_v we_o will_v not_o mock_v we_o but_o do_v as_o he_o have_v say_v that_o be_v to_o say_v satisfy_v our_o soul_n with_o good_a thing_n and_o thus_o we_o come_v to_o thirst_v but_o when_o we_o see_v our_o heart_n thus_o possess_v and_o take_v up_o with_o the_o fervent_a and_o constant_a desire_n of_o the_o good_a thing_n which_o we_o will_v have_v we_o must_v also_o be_v persuade_v to_o labour_v ready_o and_o willing_o as_o need_n shall_v require_v whether_o it_o be_v by_o prayer_n conference_n or_o the_o like_a to_o obtain_v they_o remember_v that_o which_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n 111.2_o that_o wisdom_n and_o so_o all_o the_o part_n thereof_o be_v to_o be_v seek_v out_o that_o be_v with_o all_o diligence_n of_o those_o that_o have_v pleasure_n therein_o but_o one_o objection_n here_o i_o will_v answer_v which_o trouble_v some_o and_o that_o be_v that_o they_o say_v in_o the_o beginning_n when_o man_n turn_v to_o god_n first_o they_o thirst_v and_o can_v be_v satisfy_v to_o their_o quiet_a and_o contentment_n but_o they_o see_v no_o such_o thing_n in_o they_o after_o i_o answer_v though_o all_o show_v it_o not_o after_o as_o they_o do_v at_o first_o by_o complain_v ask_v question_n and_o lament_v their_o want_n to_o other_o yet_o they_o long_v and_o thirst_v for_o that_o which_o they_o see_v needful_a for_o they_o and_o yet_o want_v but_o they_o do_v not_o show_v it_o so_o much_o and_o that_o be_v wisdom_n which_o other_o unexperienced_a and_o more_o weak_a in_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n can_v do_v but_o must_v show_v their_o thirst_a as_o i_o say_v and_o it_o may_v be_v perceive_v of_o themselves_o to_o be_v so_o by_o their_o daily_a care_n and_o diligence_n to_o nourish_v the_o old_a grace_n they_o have_v already_o and_o to_o obtain_v new_a and_o by_o the_o course_n of_o their_o life_n it_o may_v be_v perceive_v of_o other_o but_o if_o they_o grow_v full_a they_o be_v in_o ill_a case_n thus_o the_o first_o branch_n of_o the_o three_o in_o this_o first_o part_n have_v be_v handle_v namely_o who_o they_o be_v who_o god_n call_v out_o by_o the_o prophet_n from_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o people_n to_o take_v part_n in_o the_o best_a tiding_n that_o ever_o be_v or_o can_v be_v bring_v from_o he_o and_o that_o be_v thirst_n all_o such_o as_o thirst_v the_o second_o branch_n follow_v and_o that_o be_v what_o be_v the_o good_a thing_n that_o they_o shall_v have_v which_o thirst_n the_o benefit_n which_o they_o shall_v enjoy_v be_v answerable_a to_o their_o thirst_n
be_v in_o love_n with_o their_o example_n and_o good_a course_n even_o as_o a_o sweet_a smell_n or_o a_o beautiful_a creature_n provoke_v to_o the_o like_n thereof_o and_o that_o which_o he_o speak_v of_o they_o he_o affirm_v of_o all_o which_o be_v his_o true_a israelite_n and_o faithful_a people_n and_o hereof_o it_o be_v that_o they_o enjoy_v and_o attain_v to_o many_o fruit_n of_o the_o that_o be_v rich_a for_o they_o have_v their_o consolation_n for_o they_o who_o thirst_v not_o for_o heavenly_a grace_n to_o refresh_v they_o and_o make_v they_o well_o like_v to_o god_n and_o his_o people_n shall_v turn_v their_o thirst_n after_o the_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o unsavourie_a froth_n of_o their_o evil_a heart_n till_o have_v their_o fill_n of_o they_o they_o cast_v up_o their_o sweet_a morsel_n as_o their_o bane_n and_o poison_n and_o this_o shall_v suffice_v to_o have_v say_v of_o this_o verse_n for_o our_o instruction_n and_o comfort_n the_o sum_n whereof_o be_v not_o only_o that_o they_o who_o hearty_o long_a for_o the_o great_a benefit_n of_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_n shall_v have_v it_o believe_v it_o because_o god_n have_v promise_v it_o to_o they_o mercifulnes_n and_o liberality_n to_o the_o needy_a contempt_n of_o the_o world_n willingness_n and_o readiness_n to_o die_v and_o a_o supply_n of_o all_o other_o want_v which_o all_o be_v enjoy_v as_o they_o may_v be_v here_o be_v another_o manner_n of_o portion_n than_o all_o abundance_n of_o corn_n wine_n or_o any_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v earthly_a and_o yet_o they_o shall_v to_o their_o good_a contentment_n have_v their_o part_n in_o these_o also_o 2._o now_o follow_v the_o reprehension_n in_o the_o second_o verse_n but_o here_o we_o must_v mark_v exhortation_n that_o he_o reprove_v not_o they_o who_o he_o before_o call_v in_o their_o thirst_v after_o heavenly_a thing_n to_o be_v satisfy_v therewith_o for_o all_o may_v see_v there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o he_o shall_v find_v fault_n with_o they_o who_o do_v that_o which_o he_o require_v but_o he_o reprove_v they_o who_o do_v not_o thirst_v nor_o set_v their_o delight_n on_o the_o best_a thing_n tell_v they_o that_o they_o bestow_v their_o labour_n and_o travel_v upon_o that_o which_o can_v not_o profit_v but_o deceive_v they_o for_o by_o money_n in_o this_o verse_n he_o mean_v their_o precious_a labour_n and_o care_n and_o by_o bread_n he_o mean_v that_o which_o in_o the_o first_o verse_n he_o do_v by_o wine_n water_n and_o milk_n that_o be_v the_o substantial_a and_o true_a nourish_a food_n of_o the_o the_o water_n of_o life_n you_o affect_v it_o not_o but_o rather_o reject_v it_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n weary_a and_o trouble_v yourselves_o about_o that_o which_o can_v satisfy_v or_o give_v you_o contentment_n for_o to_o speak_v as_o the_o truth_n be_v man_n be_v so_o bewitch_v by_o the_o devil_n that_o they_o have_v rather_o wander_v up_o and_o down_o in_o byway_n and_o cross_a path_n erroneous_o and_o to_o follow_v their_o own_o opinion_n in_o seek_v eternal_a life_n till_o they_o be_v weary_v rather_o then_o to_o rest_v in_o the_o safe_a way_n which_o god_n offer_v they_o and_o when_o he_o have_v reprove_v they_o for_o this_o great_a fault_n he_o exhort_v they_o to_o be_v wise_a and_o to_o hear_v he_o attentive_o in_o show_v they_o a_o better_a way_n even_o the_o right_n and_o true_a way_n to_o happiness_n that_o be_v by_o thirst_v after_o it_o as_o the_o other_o do_v mention_v in_o the_o former_a verse_n and_o so_o do_v he_o show_v they_o what_o a_o worthy_a fruit_n they_o shall_v reap_v thereof_o even_o all_o abundance_n of_o thing_n worthy_a to_o be_v desire_v and_o rest_n to_o their_o soul_n thereby_o which_o he_o mean_v by_o that_o allegorical_a speech_n when_o he_o say_v eat_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o let_v your_o soul_n delight_n in_o fatness_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o meaning_n of_o this_o verse_n now_o brief_o look_v we_o into_o the_o of_o eternal_a life_n they_o do_v all_o err_v and_o be_v deceive_v and_o do_v choose_v rather_o to_o follow_v their_o own_o fancy_n and_o conceit_n than_o the_o voice_n or_o word_n of_o god_n he_o speak_v not_o to_o they_o who_o be_v drown_v in_o a_o deep_a forgetfulness_n of_o god_n and_o themselves_o do_v not_o almost_o think_v of_o the_o welfare_n and_o salvation_n of_o their_o soul_n he_o complain_v not_o i_o say_v of_o such_o who_o number_n yet_o who_o doubt_v but_o that_o it_o be_v exceed_o great_a yea_o and_o that_o all_o such_o be_v further_o off_o from_o eternal_a life_n than_o the_o other_o but_o to_o they_o he_o direct_v his_o word_n who_o desire_v life_n in_o some_o sort_n and_o yet_o know_v no_o way_n thereto_o but_o wander_v uncertain_o they_o know_v not_o whither_o so_o that_o here_o be_v all_o such_o condemn_v as_o seek_v amiss_o and_o toil_n themselves_o to_o come_v to_o happiness_n any_o other_o way_n than_o god_n teach_v in_o his_o word_n and_o all_o their_o labour_n and_o travel_v that_o way_n be_v call_v of_o he_o unprofitable_a and_o ill_o bestow_v cost_n whereupon_o we_o may_v just_o complain_v of_o the_o woeful_a estate_n of_o sundry_a kind_n of_o least_o hold_v their_o profession_n for_o their_o ease_n and_o belly_n sake_n even_o these_o who_o seek_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n which_o be_v the_o simple_a mind_v among_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o their_o religion_n be_v they_o against_o who_o the_o prophet_n enueigh_v as_o for_o the_o wilful_a and_o subtle_a among_o they_o they_o be_v much_o further_o off_o and_o almost_o without_o hope_n but_o the_o simple_a be_v also_o deceive_v with_o a_o false_a worship_n of_o god_n and_o use_v it_o after_o the_o fond_a and_o superstitious_a conceit_n and_o dream_n of_o their_o own_o brain_n though_o only_o of_o mere_a ignorance_n of_o who_o do_n yet_o the_o lord_n more_o just_o complain_v than_o he_o do_v of_o those_o to_o who_o these_o word_n be_v direct_v when_o he_o say_v 1.12_o who_o increase_v this_o joy_n in_o thou_o for_o he_o have_v give_v this_o charge_n to_o his_o servant_n who_o he_o trust_v with_o his_o word_n to_o reveal_v and_o to_o discover_v daily_o in_o the_o preach_n impossible_a for_o it_o be_v not_o in_o this_o testament_n of_o god_n as_o it_o be_v common_o in_o the_o will_n of_o man_n there_o though_o there_o be_v many_o and_o great_a thing_n bequeath_v yet_o in_o a_o few_o reading_n over_o a_o man_n may_v come_v to_o sound_v the_o bottom_n of_o they_o but_o the_o will_n of_o god_n contain_v a_o endless_a and_o bottomless_a sea_n of_o riches_n that_o a_o
