be_v a_o false_a definition_n of_o the_o temple_n which_o the_o papist_n make_v that_o it_o be_v a_o house_n build_v with_o stone_n &_o timber_n to_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n what_o this_o temple_n be_v they_o themselves_o know_v not_o for_o the_o temple_n of_o solomon_n be_v not_o therefore_o beautiful_a because_o it_o be_v adorn_v with_o gold_n and_o silver_n and_o other_o precious_a ornament_n but_o the_o true_a beauty_n of_o that_o temple_n be_v because_o in_o that_o place_n the_o people_n hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n call_v upon_o his_o name_n find_v he_o merciful_a and_o set_v forth_o with_o great_a commendation_n so_o god_n by_o the_o small_a number_n of_o the_o wise_a sort_n even_o among_o the_o gentile_n do_v overcome_v the_o multitude_n of_o these_o matrimony_n be_v ordain_v for_o beastly_a pleasure_n only_o and_o not_o to_o this_o end_n rather_o that_o we_o may_v do_v acceptable_a service_n both_o to_o god_n and_o man_n in_o nourish_v and_o bring_v up_o of_o child_n these_o man_n be_v ignorant_a of_o that_o which_o be_v most_o comfortable_a in_o matrimony_n for_o what_o be_v to_o be_v compare_v unto_o the_o love_n of_o parent_n towards_o their_o child_n especial_o since_o here_o thou_o see_v that_o child_n be_v the_o great_a portion_n of_o god_n blessing_n but_o here_o again_o we_o have_v need_n of_o faith_n for_o the_o world_n take_v it_o not_o for_o a_o blessing_n when_o a_o man_n get_v his_o live_n by_o labour_n &_o travail_n suffer_v the_o trouble_n and_o vexation_n of_o his_o wife_n his_o child_n his_o servant_n and_o such_o like_a whereof_o in_o matrimony_n there_o be_v many_o these_o thing_n i_o say_v the_o world_n esteem_v not_o as_o blessing_n but_o abhor_v they_o as_o malediction_n but_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o confirm_v the_o mind_n of_o the_o godly_a commend_v and_o set_v forth_o all_o that_o he_o have_v hitherto_o say_v by_o this_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a name_n and_o call_v they_o blessing_n to_o some_o lack_n both_o within_o the_o house_n and_o without_o but_o this_o sin_n of_o impatiency_n the_o daily_a prayer_n of_o the_o godly_a do_v quench_v &_o overcome_v and_o thus_o must_v the_o godly_a comfort_n themselves_o that_o they_o be_v place_v among_o god_n blessing_n and_o live_v a_o life_n bless_v of_o god_n this_o faith_n the_o great_a and_o strong_a it_o be_v the_o more_o joy_n it_o bring_v for_o albeit_o some_o trouble_n do_v happen_v &_o we_o some_o time_n also_o be_v overtake_v with_o sin_n yet_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n omnipotent_a wherefore_o in_o all_o tentation_n the_o victory_n be_v they_o which_o stick_v faithful_o thereunto_o these_o word_n therefore_o must_v be_v receive_v as_o the_o oracle_n of_o god_n and_o this_o kind_n of_o life_n we_o must_v adorn_v their_o merit_n their_o service_n and_o ceremony_n for_o this_o cause_n moses_n also_o sharp_o reprove_v they_o and_o warn_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o think_v they_o have_v obtain_v these_o great_a benefit_n through_o their_o own_o righteousness_n not_o for_o thy_o righteousness_n say_v he_o have_v the_o lord_n bring_v thou_o into_o this_o land_n papist_n this_o devilish_a presumption_n we_o set_v forth_o his_o word_n in_o teach_v in_o read_v in_o writing_n in_o hear_v etc_n etc_n and_o this_o one_o thing_n ought_v to_o keep_v we_o in_o the_o continual_a exercise_n of_o the_o word_n beside_o this_o they_o be_v without_o all_o hope_n of_o remedy_n for_o that_o the_o rage_n of_o pestilent_a doctrine_n be_v more_o horrible_a than_o the_o force_n and_o violence_n of_o fire_n and_o water_n which_o sudden_o consume_v and_o destroy_v all_o thing_n the_o heart_n therefore_o be_v on_o each_o side_n trouble_v and_o vex_v both_o with_o fear_n of_o the_o calamity_n that_o shall_v follow_v and_o also_o with_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o the_o present_a evil_n now_o if_o there_o be_v join_v with_o all_o these_o thing_n a_o inward_a cross_n and_o affliction_n soul_n so_o that_o the_o heart_n do_v also_o feel_v the_o displeasure_n of_o god_n here_o it_o seem_v impossible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o pray_v and_o doubtless_o a_o man_n unexpert_a and_o unskilful_a in_o these_o matter_n and_o presume_v of_o the_o word_n and_o his_o own_o knowledge_n shall_v gain_v nothing_o thereby_o but_o infinite_a trouble_n and_o vexation_n for_o to_o teach_v to_o reprove_v and_o to_o convince_v be_v not_o sufficient_a but_o god_n withal_o must_v give_v the_o increase_n that_o not_o only_o we_o with_o our_o brethren_n may_v be_v preserve_v in_o sound_a doctrine_n but_o also_o such_o as_o teach_v the_o contrary_n may_v be_v root_v out_o and_o bring_v to_o naught_o and_o this_o by_o prayer_n only_o be_v obtain_v but_o how_o hard_o a_o thing_n this_o be_v we_o have_v already_o declare_v to_o read_v the_o word_n to_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o to_o teach_v the_o word_n be_v in_o deed_n excellent_a and_o heavenly_a work_n which_o require_v the_o help_n and_o aid_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n faith_n but_o the_o inward_a practice_n of_o faith_n so_o to_o convert_v unto_o the_o lord_n so_o to_o pray_v so_o to_o presume_v of_o god_n favour_n that_o thy_o prayer_n shall_v please_v he_o and_o that_o he_o will_v hear_v the_o same_o that_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n in_o deed_n for_o fearful_a conscience_n many_o time_n feel_v not_o this_o certainty_n and_o assurance_n in_o themselves_o but_o be_v bring_v to_o such_o doubt_v and_o mistrust_n that_o they_o can_v conceive_v no_o hope_n of_o help_n or_o comfort_n especial_o such_o as_o be_v touch_v with_o the_o remorse_n of_o conscience_n gild_v of_o sin_n and_o the_o feel_n of_o their_o own_o unworthiness_n for_o in_o this_o case_n it_o oftentimes_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o the_o mind_n begin_v first_o to_o doubt_v whether_o prayer_n will_v any_o thing_n avail_n or_o not_o they_o that_o be_v bring_v to_o this_o point_n can_v not_o pray_v especial_o if_o they_o measure_v the_o same_o after_o the_o sense_n &_o feeling_n of_o their_o own_o unworthiness_n but_o here_o thou_o must_v not_o regard_v what_o thou_o be_v but_o rather_o look_v to_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n the_o necessity_n of_o prayer_n the_o danger_n that_o follow_v the_o neglect_v thereof_o and_o the_o thing_n itself_o for_o the_o which_o thou_o ought_v to_o pray_v set_v these_o thing_n before_o thine_o eye_n albeit_o thine_o own_o conscience_n and_o unworthiness_n call_v thou_o from_o prayer_n yet_o shall_v thou_o be_v constrain_v by_o prayer_n to_o fly_v to_o god_n for_o help_n and_o succour_v for_o if_o a_o be_v our_o mind_n quicken_v and_o the_o tentation_n or_o conscience_n of_o our_o own_o unworthiness_n be_v prayer_n as_o it_o be_v swallow_v up_o like_a as_o it_o happen_v also_o in_o sudden_a danger_n as_o when_o a_o man_n in_o his_o journey_n fall_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o thief_n or_o be_v in_o great_a peril_n of_o drown_v here_o before_o he_o can_v once_o think_v of_o his_o own_o unworthiness_n he_o burst_v out_o into_o these_o word_n or_o this_o cogitation_n oh_o god_n be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o and_o here_o the_o say_n of_o the_o physician_n be_v find_v most_o true_a that_o sharp_a sauce_n provoke_v the_o appetite_n for_o there_o be_v no_o better_a schoolmaster_n to_o teach_v we_o to_o pray_v than_o necessity_n but_o while_o we_o walk_v in_o security_n and_o be_v not_o touch_v with_o any_o feel_n of_o present_a danger_n no_o marvel_n be_v it_o if_o our_o prayer_n be_v either_o no_o prayer_n at_o all_o or_o else_o in_o deed_n very_o faint_a and_o cold_a for_o i_o own_o part_n i_o can_v say_v by_o experience_n experience_n that_o i_o never_o pray_v more_o hearty_o then_o in_o the_o time_n of_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n and_o this_o be_v that_o sharp_a sauce_n which_o stir_v up_o also_o in_o david_n a_o hunger_n as_o it_o be_v and_o a_o appetite_n to_o pray_v as_o he_o say_v i_o call_v unto_o the_o lord_n in_o my_o trouble_n etc_n etc_n we_o may_v learn_v therefore_o out_o of_o this_o verse_n that_o david_n use_v this_o remedy_n against_o lie_a tongue_n that_o first_o by_o doctrine_n he_o stir_v up_o himself_o and_o other_o prayer_n and_o then_o he_o pray_v in_o like_a manner_n ought_v we_o to_o do_v even_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o cause_n or_o necessity_n which_o the_o lord_n prayer_n also_o set_v forth_o unto_o we_o for_o in_o that_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v pollute_v man_n conscience_n pervert_v and_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o gospel_n hinder_v we_o have_v in_o deed_n great_a cause_n to_o say_v hallow_a be_v thy_o name_n that_o these_o abomination_n and_o blasphemy_n may_v have_v a_o end_n thy_o kingdom_n come_v which_o by_o the_o kingdom_n of_o satan_n be_v in_o a_o manner_n oppress_v he_o that_o pray_v through_o the_o cloud_n which_o hide_v from_o we_o the_o presence_n of_o our_o most_o gracious_a god_n god._n and_o think_v that_o prayer_n be_v a_o acceptable_a sacrifice_n to_o god_n and_o such_o a_o service_n as_o he_o himself_o require_v of_o we_o some_o seek_v a_o mean_a help_n and_o trust_v to_o other_o man_n prayer_n which_o in_o deed_n be_v not_o to_o be_v neglect_v for_o the_o prayer_n of_o many_o have_v a_o more_o force_n and_o power_n but_o thou_o also_o must_v pray_v as_o a_o member_n of_o the_o church_n which_o with_o one_o voice_n say_v our_o father_n etc_n etc_n for_o he_o will_v not_o be_v the_o father_n of_o

that_o of_o very_a purpose_n man_n be_v cast_v unto_o satan_n and_o eternal_a damnation_n by_o false_a teacher_n and_o minister_n of_o iniquity_n now_o consider_v whether_o it_o be_v not_o better_o with_o trouble_n to_o keep_v and_o enjoy_v the_o word_n of_o god_n then_o with_o loss_n of_o the_o word_n to_o live_v in_o peace_n and_o tranquillity_n though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o heavenly_a a_o peace_n as_o for_o i_o i_o will_v not_o desire_v to_o live_v in_o paradise_n without_o the_o word_n and_o with_o the_o word_n to_o live_v in_o hell_n it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n like_v as_o in_o this_o world_n we_o live_v as_o it_o be_v in_o hell_n and_o comfort_v ourselves_o only_o with_o hope_n which_o the_o word_n of_o god_n show_v unto_o we_o and_o with_o this_o hope_n we_o overcome_v all_o kind_n of_o trouble_n &_o cross_n let_v we_o therefore_o lay_v sure_a hold_n on_o this_o consolation_n which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n here_o set_v forth_o unto_o we_o whereof_o also_o all_o they_o grace_n we_o be_v at_o this_o day_n how_o soever_o the_o world_n think_v of_o we_o and_o we_o will_v pray_v unto_o god_n that_o for_o christ_n sake_n he_o will_v so_o keep_v we_o even_o to_o the_o it_o promise_v seem_v either_o absurd_a &_o unlikely_a or_o impossible_a or_o else_o incredible_a &_o against_o all_o reason_n therefore_o they_o which_o have_v once_o begin_v to_o believe_v have_v need_n of_o continual_a exhortation_n to_o stir_v they_o up_o against_o the_o tentation_n of_o the_o flesh_n which_o strive_v against_o faith_n &_o the_o word_n of_o god_n lest_o the_o spirit_n be_v whereby_o the_o people_n may_v learn_v to_o know_v what_o the_o will_n of_o god_n be_v what_o he_o intend_v to_o do_v with_o his_o people_n what_o punishment_n and_o plague_n he_o threaten_v to_o the_o wicked_a and_o this_o preach_n be_v the_o testimony_n which_o david_n here_o speak_v of_o make_v unto_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n gather_v together_o in_o this_o place_n whereby_o they_o be_v know_v to_o be_v the_o peculiar_a and_o choose_a people_n of_o god_n from_o all_o other_o nation_n as_o he_o say_v in_o a_o other_o psalm_n he_o have_v not_o so_o deal_v with_o every_o nation_n wherefore_o we_o also_o have_v great_a cause_n to_o acknowledge_v the_o rich_a blessing_n of_o god_n that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v now_o pure_o &_o sincere_o preach_v amongst_o we_o as_o it_o be_v then_o in_o jerusalem_n and_o the_o sweet_a promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n sound_v in_o the_o ear_n &_o conscience_n of_o the_o godly_a to_o their_o singular_a comfort_n and_o consolation_n also_o the_o threaten_n of_o god_n publish_v whereby_o the_o wicked_a be_v call_v to_o repentance_n and_o the_o godly_a keep_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o mortification_n of_o the_o old_a man_n through_o the_o assistance_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o the_o father_n through_o christ_n and_o for_o christ_n sake_n pour_v upon_o they_o abundant_o which_o willing_o and_o glad_o receive_v this_o testimony_n this_o be_v one_o part_n then_o of_o the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n to_o learn_v the_o way_n how_o to_o worship_v god_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o best_o please_v he_o which_o consist_v in_o teach_v of_o the_o word_n &_o hear_n of_o god_n when_o he_o speak_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o witness_n and_o therefore_o the_o devil_n desire_v nothing_o so_o much_o as_o to_o hinder_v the_o preach_v &_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n for_o this_o cause_n he_o raise_v up_o as_o you_o hear_v in_o the_o first_o psalm_n lie_v lip_n and_o deceitful_a tongue_n he_o stir_v up_o the_o world_n with_o sword_n and_o power_n to_o oppress_v the_o godly_a and_o even_o in_o ourselves_o he_o go_v about_o to_o deface_v this_o kind_n of_o service_n and_o worship_n of_o god_n by_o our_o devilish_a contempt_n and_o loathe_n of_o the_o same_o but_o contrariwise_o to_o build_v church_n and_o gorgeous_o to_o deck_v they_o for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o mass_n oblation_n false_a worship_n and_o idolatry_n all_o this_o he_o can_v abide_v well_o enough_o for_o by_o these_o thing_n he_o know_v that_o his_o strength_n be_v not_o diminish_v nor_o his_o power_n weaken_v but_o when_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v preach_v concern_v remission_n of_o sin_n the_o righteousness_n that_o come_v by_o christ_n and_o life_n everlasting_a this_o doctrine_n destroy_v his_o kingdom_n this_o cause_v he_o to_o rage_n and_o to_o seek_v by_o all_o mean_v possible_a how_o he_o may_v hinder_v the_o course_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n be_v to_o praise_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n word_n this_o david_n make_v the_o second_o kind_n of_o worship_n when_o he_o commend_v his_o jerusalem_n and_o here_o again_o note_v that_o he_o speak_v nothing_o of_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o the_o law_n for_o albeit_o he_o do_v not_o discommend_v they_o as_o i_o say_v before_o yet_o he_o reckon_v they_o but_o as_o chaff_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o word_n and_o the_o fruit_n which_o follow_v thereof_o which_o be_v thank_n give_v and_o if_o he_o have_v name_v the_o sley_a of_o sacrifice_n every_o man_n have_v not_o be_v able_a to_o serve_v god_n with_o that_o kind_n of_o worship_n therefore_o he_o require_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o which_o they_o be_v able_a to_o do_v without_o great_a charge_n which_o yet_o notwithstanding_o very_o few_o do_v he_o do_v not_o condemn_v the_o build_n of_o the_o temple_n which_o afterward_o shall_v be_v do_v by_o his_o son_n solomon_n but_o do_v earnest_o desire_v the_o same_o and_o the_o cause_n why_o he_o do_v desire_v it_o here_o you_o see_v namely_o that_o first_o the_o name_n of_o god_n may_v there_o be_v preach_v and_o then_o that_o god_n may_v there_o accept_v the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n with_o praise_n and_o thank_n give_v for_o his_o benefit_n receive_v hitherto_o we_o have_v hear_v how_o the_o prophet_n extol_v and_o magnify_v the_o incomparable_a gift_n &_o benefit_n of_o god_n the_o word_n i_o mean_v with_o thank_n and_o praise_n unto_o god_n for_o the_o same_o for_o that_o be_v a_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n in_o deed_n which_o be_v know_v and_o acknowledge_v so_o to_o be_v all_o the_o world_n as_o we_o see_v be_v full_a &_o even_o glut_v with_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n notwithstanding_o it_o remain_v still_o in_o such_o blindness_n that_o it_o know_v they_o not_o to_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o it_o take_v and_o use_v they_o not_o otherwise_o then_o hog_n do_v their_o draff_n &_o swill_n but_o david_n see_v that_o god_n have_v give_v he_o a_o kingdom_n wherein_o the_o pure_a word_n of_o god_n and_o true_a religion_n flourish_v this_o great_a benefit_n he_o acknowledge_v and_o therefore_o he_o so_o rejoice_v and_o magnify_v his_o jerusalem_n as_o a_o place_n appoint_v by_o the_o lords_z own_o mouth_n where_o the_o people_n may_v come_v together_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o to_o give_v thanks_n unto_o god_n for_o his_o benefit_n out_o of_o the_o which_o place_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a to_o find_v god_n the_o gentile_n because_o they_o have_v not_o the_o word_n nor_o this_o hear_n whereof_o david_n here_o speak_v can_v not_o find_v god_n hereby_o we_o may_v see_v how_o horrible_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v to_o contemn_v and_o to_o loathe_v the_o word_n for_o what_o can_v be_v more_o horrible_a than_o that_o man_n a_o weak_a creature_n nothing_o but_o earth_n &_o dust_n shall_v so_o lift_v up_o himself_o in_o pride_n that_o when_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n speak_v &_o most_o love_o invite_v he_o to_o hear_v he_o will_v not_o hear_v and_o yet_o we_o see_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o common_a than_o this_o impiety_n this_o horrible_a contempt_n this_o devilish_a loathe_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n amongst_o all_o sort_n of_o man_n the_o cause_n be_v for_o that_o we_o hear_v not_o the_o lord_n speak_v now_o unto_o we_o in_o his_o majesty_n as_o he_o speak_v in_o the_o mount_v sinai_n at_o what_o time_n the_o people_n be_v astonish_v &_o tremble_v at_o the_o terrible_a voice_n of_o the_o lord_n &_o yet_o how_o soon_o have_v they_o forget_v the_o lord_n and_o murmur_v both_o against_o the_o lord_n and_o against_o moses_n thus_o in_o his_o majesty_n he_o speak_v no_o more_o but_o he_o speak_v now_o unto_o we_o by_o man_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v contemn_v horrible_a it_o be_v that_o sodom_n be_v burn_v up_o with_o fire_n from_o heaven_n horrible_a it_o be_v also_o that_o the_o whole_a world_n be_v destroy_v with_o water_n moreover_o the_o daily_a example_n of_o impiety_n and_o wickedness_n as_o murder_v whoredom_n etc_n etc_n be_v such_o that_o they_o can_v not_o be_v hear_v without_o horror_n &_o tremble_a but_o how_o horrible_a so_o ever_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v yet_o be_v it_o much_o more_o horrible_a to_o contemn_v god_n when_o by_o his_o word_n he_o speak_v unto_o we_o which_o all_o the_o world_n do_v at_o this_o day_n not_o only_o they_o which_o persecute_v the_o word_n with_o open_a tyranny_n but_o such_o also_o as_o be_v even_o amongst_o we_o &_o at_o the_o beginning_n seem_v to_o receive_v this_o doctrine_n with_o great_a rejoice_v wherefore_o david_n exhort_v
be_v judge_v with_o equity_n the_o celestial_a jerusalem_n have_v the_o tribunal_n seat_n where_o judgement_n be_v &_o shall_v be_v most_o just_o pronounce_v upon_o the_o universal_a world_n and_o upon_o all_o man_n that_o either_o have_v be_v be_v or_o shall_v be_v the_o lord_n grant_v that_o with_o a_o invincible_a faith_n we_o may_v mount_v up_o to_o this_o celestial_a jerusalem_n the_o city_n of_o god_n where_o be_v such_o joy_n &_o felicity_n as_o neither_o eye_n have_v see_v nor_o ear_n have_v hear_v nor_o tongue_n can_v tell_v nor_o yet_o heart_n can_v think_v verse_n 6._o pray_v for_o the_o peace_n of_o jerusalem_n let_v they_o prosper_v that_o love_n thou_o to_o pray_v for_o the_o peace_n of_o jerusalem_n be_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o safety_n prosperity_n and_o welfare_n of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n that_o satan_n have_v no_o power_n to_o hinder_v the_o course_n and_o fruit_n of_o the_o word_n david_n see_v first_o in_o spirit_n this_o horrible_a contempt_n of_o the_o word_n and_o ministry_n &_o moreover_o he_o see_v that_o this_o glorious_a gift_n can_v not_o be_v preserve_v by_o man_n diligence_n therefore_o he_o go_v about_o here_o to_o stir_v up_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n to_o pray_v for_o the_o preservation_n of_o this_o gift_n as_o if_o he_o say_v here_o be_v the_o lord_n own_o seat_n and_o throne_n of_o judgement_n notwithstanding_o how_o few_o do_v reverence_n and_o regard_v it_o as_o they_o shall_v do_v yea_o the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n hate_v it_o and_o wish_v the_o subversion_n thereof_o wherefore_o i_o exhort_v you_o â–ª_o oh_o you_o little_a flock_n to_o honour_n and_o reverence_v this_o seat_n to_o pray_v for_o the_o peace_n thereof_o love_o to_o salute_v it_o and_o to_o say_v the_o lord_n out_o of_o zion_n bless_v terror_n of_o conscience_n etc_n etc_n what_o cause_n have_v you_o then_o to_o pray_v for_o the_o prosperity_n of_o this_o city_n whereby_o you_o enjoy_v such_o heavenly_a benefit_n when_o the_o church_n of_o god_n do_v not_o prosper_v it_o can_v go_v well_o with_o any_o particular_a member_n thereof_o no_o marvel_n then_o why_o david_n so_o earnest_o exhort_v all_o the_o faithful_a to_o pray_v for_o the_o peace_n and_o prosperity_n of_o the_o church_n wherefore_o if_o we_o will_v pray_v as_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v we_o must_v first_o and_o principal_o commend_v unto_o god_n the_o common_a state_n of_o the_o church_n for_o he_o that_o seek_v his_o own_o welfare_n and_o neglect_v the_o state_n and_o prosperity_n of_o the_o church_n do_v not_o only_o show_v himself_o to_o be_v void_a of_o all_o sense_n and_o zeal_n of_o true_a piety_n but_o also_o the_o prayer_n which_o he_o make_v for_o himself_o be_v in_o vain_a &_o profit_v he_o nothing_o let_v they_o prosper_v that_o love_n thou_o he_o wish_v unto_o they_o which_o love_v the_o word_n and_o reverence_n this_o seat_n that_o god_n will_v bless_v they_o with_o all_o manner_n of_o blessing_n &_o felicity_n and_o this_o prayer_n be_v very_o necessary_a for_o we_o see_v daily_o how_o the_o true_a professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v in_o danger_n by_o the_o minister_n of_o satan_n the_o enemy_n of_o god_n &_o his_o truth_n on_o every_o side_n which_o can_v be_v content_a rather_o to_o have_v the_o turk_n to_o reign_v over_o they_o yea_o the_o devil_n himself_o and_o all_o the_o fury_n of_o hell_n then_o to_o see_v we_o prosper_v and_o the_o gospel_n to_o flourish_v lest_o their_o curse_a work_n of_o darkness_n and_o infidelity_n shall_v appear_v unto_o the_o world_n verse_n 7._o peace_n be_v within_o thy_o wall_n and_o prosperity_n within_o thy_o palace_n now_o that_o the_o prophet_n have_v exhort_v all_o man_n to_o pray_v for_o the_o peace_n and_o prosperity_n of_o jerusalem_n he_o turn_v unto_o the_o city_n and_o do_v not_o only_o wish_v well_o unto_o it_o but_o also_o he_o show_v unto_o other_o how_o they_o shall_v pray_v for_o it_o the_o sum_n whereof_o be_v that_o true_a religion_n may_v flourish_v the_o ministry_n and_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n may_v be_v defend_v against_o the_o false_a prophet_n that_o concord_n may_v be_v maintain_v amongst_o the_o pastor_n and_o preacher_n of_o the_o word_n and_o that_o the_o civil_a government_n may_v prosper_v how_o necessary_a this_o prayer_n be_v experience_n daily_o teach_v we_o for_o where_o these_o 2._o thing_n be_v namely_o concord_n in_o the_o church_n and_o peace_n in_o the_o civil_a state_n there_o can_v no_o good_a thing_n be_v lack_v &_o therefore_o the_o devil_n so_o busy_o labour_v to_o trouble_v the_o peace_n of_o they_o both_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o there_o be_v such_o a_o multitude_n of_o false_a prophet_n rebel_n &_o seditious_a person_n amongst_o this_o people_n as_o the_o story_n do_v testify_v wherefore_o david_n be_v teach_v by_o his_o own_o experience_n pray_v for_o these_o 2._o thing_n without_o the_o which_o the_o world_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o wild_a desert_n example_n hereof_o may_v be_v unto_o we_o the_o late_a time_n wherein_o we_o live_v under_o the_o pope_n before_o this_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n begin_v to_o shine_v for_o then_o when_o the_o sound_a doctrine_n of_o the_o word_n be_v lack_v what_o can_v the_o pope_n &_o all_o his_o shaveling_n do_v what_o one_o verse_n do_v they_o right_o understand_v throughout_o the_o whole_a psalter_n whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o resist_v most_o manifest_a impiety_n which_o by_o the_o strong_a &_o mighty_a delusion_n of_o the_o devil_n overflow_v the_o world_n as_o in_o pilgrimage_n where_o they_o maintain_v most_o damnable_a idolatry_n and_o cause_v the_o people_n to_o adore_v the_o work_n of_o their_o own_o hand_n and_o if_o any_o man_n speak_v against_o they_o he_o be_v up_o and_o by_o take_v and_o burn_v as_o a_o heretic_n so_o true_a be_v it_o that_o when_o the_o word_n be_v once_o lose_v the_o world_n remain_v in_o most_o horrible_a darkness_n and_o can_v do_v nothing_o else_o but_o abuse_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o so_o fall_v to_o most_o detestable_a impiety_n or_o else_o to_o desperation_n this_o david_n foresee_v and_o therefore_o he_o pray_v so_o earnest_o for_o the_o prosperity_n of_o jerusalem_n for_o faithful_a pastor_n in_o the_o church_n and_o godly_a prince_n in_o the_o politic_a state_n verse_n 8._o for_o my_o brethren_n and_o neighbour_n sake_n i_o will_v wish_v thou_o now_o prosperity_n here_o david_n show_v the_o cause_n as_o he_o do_v also_o in_o the_o verse_n follow_v why_o he_o pray_v thus_o for_o jerusalem_n as_o if_o he_o say_v in_o that_o i_o wish_v that_o peace_n may_v be_v in_o thou_o o_o jerusalem_n in_o that_o i_o desire_v thy_o prosperity_n and_o welfare_n i_o do_v it_o for_o my_o brethren_n and_o neighbour_n sake_n that_o be_v for_o my_o fellow_n and_o companion_n in_o faith_n and_o religion_n and_o here_o in_o his_o own_o person_n he_o show_v the_o common_a complaint_n of_o all_o those_o that_o rule_n either_o in_o the_o church_n or_o in_o the_o common_a weal_n or_o in_o family_n which_o be_v that_o the_o great_a part_n of_o man_n be_v ever_o perverse_a and_o wicked_a the_o godly_a pastor_n when_o he_o go_v about_o with_o great_a care_n &_o diligence_n to_o reform_v the_o corrupt_a life_n and_o wickedness_n of_o the_o people_n see_v notwithstanding_o that_o the_o more_o part_n still_o remain_v perverse_a &_o intractable_a the_o magistrate_n travel_v with_o like_a care_n and_o diligence_n in_o his_o call_n findeth_z the_o people_n disobedient_a &_o incorrigible_a likewise_o be_v it_o in_o household_n government_n what_o unfaithful_a service_n shall_v thou_o find_v even_o amongst_o those_o who_o thou_o think_v to_o have_v find_v most_o true_a and_o faithful_a hereof_o it_o come_v that_o many_o be_v discomfort_a and_o utter_o discourage_v see_v so_o little_a fruit_n and_o success_n to_o ensue_v of_o their_o godly_a travel_n notwithstanding_o we_o see_v it_o can_v not_o otherwise_o be_v for_o satan_n our_o perpetual_a enemy_n cease_v neither_o night_n nor_o day_n to_o stir_v up_o discord_n and_o perverse_a opinion_n in_o the_o church_n in_o the_o civil_a state_n stubborn_a and_o disobedient_a person_n in_o household_n government_n negligent_a and_o unfaithful_a family_n here_o we_o must_v look_v with_o david_n not_o to_o the_o great_a part_n which_o be_v ever_o wicked_a but_o to_o our_o brethren_n and_o neighbour_n so_o do_v paul_n in_o the_o 2._o timoth._n 3_n for_o the_o elect_n sake_n i_o sustain_v and_o suffer_v all_o thing_n say_v he_o for_o if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o their_o sake_n who_o will_v willing_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o office_n of_o
be_v speak_v verse_n 2._o behold_v as_o the_o eye_n of_o servant_n look_v unto_o the_o hand_n of_o their_o master_n and_o as_o the_o eye_n of_o a_o maiden_n unto_o the_o hand_n of_o her_o mistress_n so_o our_o eye_n wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n until_o he_o have_v mercy_n upon_o us._n here_o the_o prophet_n set_v forth_o by_o similitude_n the_o nature_n of_o true_a piety_n as_o if_o he_o say_v great_a be_v our_o affliction_n and_o yet_o the_o lord_n prolong_v his_o help_n neither_o ease_v our_o misery_n nor_o revenge_v our_o wrong_n he_o suffer_v the_o cruel_a the_o proud_a and_o the_o scornful_a to_o treaâ—_n we_o under_o foot_n and_o to_o prosper_v in_o our_o sight_n this_o delay_n be_v tedious_a &_o grevous_a unto_o we_o notwithstanding_o we_o will_v not_o murmur_v or_o become_v unpatient_a in_o these_o our_o affliction_n but_o as_o good_a servant_n in_o their_o distress_n look_v to_o the_o hand_n that_o be_v for_o help_v and_o succour_v at_o the_o hand_n of_o their_o master_n &_o mistress_n so_o will_v we_o attend_v upon_o y_fw-es lord_n our_o god_n until_o he_o have_v pity_n upon_o us._n tentation_n thus_o we_o see_v that_o the_o lord_n sometime_o defer_v his_o help_n neither_o show_v how_o nor_o when_o he_o will_v help_v but_o leave_v his_o saint_n in_o such_o perplexity_n as_o though_o he_o have_v no_o regard_n either_o of_o the_o time_n or_o of_o the_o manner_n of_o their_o deliverance_n so_o that_o they_o seem_v to_o hang_v as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o mid_n between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n these_o thing_n be_v grevous_a and_o exceed_o increase_v the_o tentation_n therefore_o we_o must_v lay_v sure_a hold_n on_o this_o consolation_n which_o the_o prophet_n here_o set_v forth_o that_o our_o tentation_n shall_v have_v a_o end_n but_o not_o as_o we_o will_v lest_o we_o seem_v to_o appoint_v the_o time_n and_o manner_n of_o our_o deliverance_n which_o the_o lord_n reserve_v to_o himself_o alone_o and_o here_o be_v a_o example_n set_v forth_o unto_o we_o faithful_a patient_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o time_n of_o trouble_n to_o be_v instant_a in_o prayer_n and_o never_o to_o let_v our_o hand_n fall_v or_o turn_v our_o eye_n from_o the_o lord_n but_o constant_o to_o persevere_v in_o sure_a hope_n &_o expectation_n of_o his_o gracious_a deliverance_n and_o of_o his_o help_a hand_n to_o be_v present_a with_o we_o in_o our_o necessity_n whereof_o our_o saviour_n christ_n also_o warn_v we_o in_o the_o gospel_n of_o the_o woman_n and_o the_o unrighteous_a judge_n who_o although_o he_o neither_o fear_v god_n nor_o man_n yet_o because_o this_o woman_n never_o cease_v to_o call_v upon_o he_o he_o be_v compel_v to_o hear_v her_o cause_n for_o if_o the_o worst_a man_n be_v not_o yet_o so_o wicked_a but_o he_o may_v be_v overcome_v with_o instant_n and_o continual_a prayer_n what_o shall_v we_o not_o hope_v to_o obtain_v at_o god_n hand_n which_o willing_o offer_v himself_o to_o hear_v our_o prayer_n and_o also_o command_v we_o to_o pray_v yea_o and_o be_v more_o ready_a to_o grant_v our_o petition_n then_o we_o be_v to_o ask_v for_o in_o that_o he_o differ_v his_o help_n he_o do_v it_o not_o because_o he_o will_v not_o hear_v we_o but_o to_o exercise_v and_o stir_v up_o our_o faith_n and_o to_o teach_v we_o that_o the_o way_n whereby_o he_o can_v and_o do_v deliver_v we_o be_v so_o manifold_a &_o miraculous_a that_o we_o be_v never_o able_a to_o conceive_v they_o therefore_o let_v we_o think_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o ask_v be_v not_o deny_v but_o differ_v &_o assure_v more_o learning_n and_o judgement_n in_o his_o little_a finger_n than_o hierome_n have_v in_o all_o his_o body_n for_o he_o ought_v not_o to_o have_v praise_v virginity_n with_o the_o reproach_n and_o dispraise_n of_o matrimony_n but_o thus_o shall_v he_o rather_o have_v say_v that_o as_o they_o which_o be_v virgin_n shall_v serve_v god_n in_o their_o gift_n and_o calling_n so_o matrimony_n be_v you_o consider_v her_o condition_n be_v far_o inferior_a unto_o the_o man_n in_o those_o thing_n which_o pertain_v either_o to_o the_o body_n or_o to_o the_o mind_n special_o as_o touch_v the_o affair_n which_o be_v do_v by_o the_o man_n and_o can_v not_o be_v do_v by_o the_o woman_n but_o the_o holy_a ghost_n consider_v the_o gift_n and_o through_o the_o greatness_n and_o excellency_n of_o the_o gift_n he_o cover_v what_o incommodity_n so_o ever_o be_v in_o the_o womankind_n and_o shadow_v the_o same_o with_o most_o excellent_a and_o goodly_a similitude_n now_o that_o we_o may_v see_v these_o calamity_n god_n show_v forth_o his_o power_n and_o not_o only_o remit_v their_o sin_n but_o also_o turn_v away_o the_o punishment_n thereof_o so_o that_o still_o there_o remain_v a_o church_n and_o the_o practice_n of_o their_o enemy_n be_v bring_v to_o naught_o wherefore_o the_o prophet_n here_o not_o only_o repeat_v the_o danger_n and_o calamity_n of_o the_o church_n but_o with_o great_a of_o heretic_n and_o sectary_n for_o it_o be_v their_o property_n to_o boast_v and_o brag_v of_o the_o victory_n &_o always_o to_o triumph_v before_o the_o victory_n but_o how_o so_o ever_o our_o adversary_n triumph_n &_o glory_n let_v we_o endeavour_n to_o hold_v fast_o the_o word_n and_o what_o so_o ever_o we_o do_v let_v we_o apply_v it_o whole_o to_o the_o amplify_a of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o word_n if_o then_o as_o needs_o it_o must_v be_v assault_n and_o battle_n do_v follow_v yet_o let_v we_o sing_v with_o david_n they_o can_v not_o prevail_v for_o albeit_o they_o kill_v we_o yet_o neither_o the_o pope_n nor_o any_o other_o heretic_n nor_o the_o turk_n nor_o satan_n himself_o shall_v ever_o be_v able_a to_o quench_v the_o word_n neither_o yet_o shall_v they_o prevail_v against_o we_o if_o we_o steadfast_o abide_v in_o the_o word_n in_o deed_n this_o will_v we_o grant_v unto_o satan_n that_o he_o be_v strong_a than_o we_o and_o vex_v we_o many_o stir_v up_o the_o whole_a world_n against_o we_o although_o false_a brethren_n which_o walk_v not_o in_o true_a &_o sound_a doctrine_n continual_o vex_v we_o although_o satan_n himself_o never_o cease_v to_o raise_v up_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n against_o we_o yet_o will_v we_o sing_v with_o david_n even_o to_o the_o end_n they_o can_v not_o prevail_v yea_o and_o that_o only_o because_o of_o success_n unto_o their_o wicked_a counsel_n and_o attempt_n that_o he_o suffer_v the_o ungodly_a even_o then_o to_o prosper_v when_o they_o be_v most_o worthy_a to_o be_v punish_v with_o all_o manner_n of_o torment_n and_o utter_o consume_v on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o godly_a the_o more_o they_o pray_v and_o the_o more_o they_o hope_v the_o less_o seem_v their_o prayer_n and_o their_o hope_n to_o take_v effect_n every_o day_n be_v they_o more_o and_o more_o afflict_a every_o day_n there_o be_v less_o &_o less_o hope_v leave_v wherefore_o this_o similitude_n be_v well_o apply_v unto_o they_o in_o that_o they_o be_v compare_v to_o a_o ground_n which_o be_v continual_o plough_v wherein_o such_o furrow_n be_v draw_v as_o seem_v to_o have_v no_o end_n as_o though_o there_o be_v no_o god_n which_o either_o see_v their_o calamity_n or_o the_o impiety_n and_o outrageous_a cruelty_n of_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o word_n he_o signify_v therefore_o that_o they_o have_v need_n of_o continual_a patience_n not_o for_o a_o day_n or_o two_o but_o all_o the_o day_n of_o their_o life_n so_o that_o they_o which_o have_v the_o word_n must_v assure_o purpose_v and_o determine_v never_o to_o depart_v from_o god_n although_o they_o shall_v suffer_v the_o same_o affliction_n a_o thousand_o year_n together_o how_o mavy_z have_v we_o see_v in_o these_o our_o day_n which_o have_v fall_v away_o yea_o and_o such_o also_o as_o sometime_o do_v stand_v when_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o word_n be_v hinder_v through_o persecution_n like_v as_o the_o sun_n dry_v up_o and_o wither_v the_o corn_n that_o be_v sow_v in_o a_o stony_a ground_n wherefore_o we_o must_v learn_v that_o the_o patience_n of_o the_o faithful_a as_o it_o be_v in_o this_o verse_n describe_v be_v such_o as_o be_v ready_a to_o offer_v their_o back_n unto_o the_o plower_n and_o to_o suffer_v not_o for_o a_o day_n nor_o for_o a_o year_n but_o for_o the_o time_n of_o their_o whole_a life_n for_o he_o compare_v affliction_n to_o the_o long_o plough_v in_o the_o back_n of_o the_o faithful_a like_a as_o our_o saviour_n christ_n also_o signify_v when_o he_o say_v he_o that_o continue_v to_o the_o end_n shall_v the_o plough_n they_o can_v not_o prevail_v moreover_o this_o great_a and_o long_a continuance_n of_o the_o furrow_n in_o the_o back_n of_o the_o faithful_a include_v such_o a_o offence_n as_o no_o carnal_a wisdom_n be_v able_a to_o overcome_v namely_o that_o the_o wicked_a do_v not_o only_o prosper_v but_o their_o felicity_n also_o continue_v long_a so_o that_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v as_o a_o reward_n of_o their_o tyranny_n their_o persecution_n &_o malice_n against_o the_o church_n for_o if_o god_n will_v suffer_v their_o tyranny_n but_o for_o a_o little_a time_n &_o speedy_o reward_v they_o according_a to_o their_o desert_n we_o shall_v all_o then_o say_v that_o god_n be_v mindful_a of_o his_o child_n &_o angry_a with_o the_o wicked_a but_o now_o since_o impiety_n and_o wickedness_n flourish_v many_o year_n together_o and_o the_o wicked_a still_o continue_v and_o increase_v in_o great_a felicity_n without_o punishment_n the_o same_o be_v verify_v of_o they_o which_o diogenes_n say_v of_o harpalus_n that_o they_o seem_v to_o give_v a_o
call_v grace_n heaven_n itself_o by_o the_o which_o we_o have_v a_o open_a passage_n unto_o heaven_n and_o the_o which_o we_o can_v never_o attain_v unto_o by_o the_o law_n by_o work_n or_o by_o our_o own_o endeavour_n but_o rather_o as_o a_o most_o large_a heaven_n it_o receive_v we_o beleve_v that_o by_o adoption_n we_o be_v make_v righteous_a before_o god_n through_o christ._n hereby_o we_o may_v see_v what_o the_o intent_n and_o purpose_n of_o the_o prophet_n be_v in_o this_o psalm_n namely_o to_o teach_v we_o the_o true_a way_n to_o righteousness_n life_n and_o salvation_n again_o to_o show_v we_o the_o way_n how_o to_o escape_v death_n sin_n and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n that_o out_o of_o this_o life_n we_o may_v pass_v to_o life_n everlasting_a and_o in_o teach_v of_o these_o thing_n he_o show_v his_o own_o experience_n and_o lay_v open_a unto_o we_o his_o own_o heart_n which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v exercise_v and_o school_v with_o many_o tentation_n that_o so_o he_o may_v attain_v to_o this_o doctrine_n wherein_o he_o go_v about_o here_o to_o enstruct_v we_o also_o the_o sum_n whereof_o be_v that_o he_o rest_v whole_o in_o the_o hope_n of_o god_n mercy_n and_o in_o the_o sure_a trust_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o his_o sin_n but_o these_o thing_n shall_v more_o clear_o appear_v hereafter_o in_o expound_v of_o the_o psalm_n verse_n 1._o out_o of_o the_o desperation_n think_v himself_o forsake_v of_o god_n when_o he_o see_v his_o own_o unworthiness_n and_o desert_n accuse_v before_o god_n as_o a_o terrible_a judge_n yea_o when_o it_o seem_v unto_o he_o that_o god_n have_v not_o only_o forsake_v he_o but_o cast_v he_o away_o for_o ever_o hate_v &_o abhor_v he_o for_o his_o sin_n these_o tentation_n be_v much_o more_o terrible_a than_o those_o which_o man_n common_o fall_v into_o for_o they_o be_v not_o without_o danger_n of_o soul_n &_o eternal_a salvation_n therefore_o he_o use_v here_o this_o manner_n of_o speech_n say_v out_o of_o the_o depth_n i_o call_v unto_o thou_o etc_n etc_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v great_a be_v the_o trouble_n wherewith_o i_o be_o oppress_v for_o i_o feel_v my_o own_o sin_n and_o the_o just_a wrath_n of_o count_v inferior_a sin_n as_o the_o offence_n of_o youth_n the_o deject_v &_o break_v hearted_a may_v more_o easy_o be_v raise_v up_o again_o but_o these_o affliction_n seem_v to_o they_o and_o be_v in_o deed_n untollerable_a when_o they_o feel_v themselves_o oppress_v with_o such_o horrible_a and_o hellish_a cogitation_n that_o they_o can_v see_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o they_o be_v cast_v away_o from_o god_n for_o ever_o they_o therefore_o that_o feel_v such_o bitter_a tentation_n god._n have_v here_o a_o example_n that_o david_n in_o himself_o feel_v and_o have_v experience_n of_o the_o like_a for_o it_o make_v the_o tentation_n much_o more_o grevous_a when_o they_o which_o be_v thus_o afflict_v feel_v that_o as_o to_o they_o it_o seem_v which_o none_o else_o do_v feel_v but_o they_o alone_o we_o must_v learn_v therefore_o that_o even_o the_o godly_a have_v ever_o suffer_v the_o same_o affliction_n and_o have_v be_v beat_v down_o even_o to_o death_n with_o the_o terror_n of_o the_o law_n and_o sin_n as_o we_o may_v see_v here_o by_o the_o example_n of_o david_n cry_v even_o as_o it_o be_v out_o of_o hell_n and_o say_n out_o of_o the_o depth_n do_v i_o cry_v unto_o thou_o oh_o lord_n etc_n etc_n but_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o know_v that_o we_o sustain_v not_o these_o trouble_n and_o tentation_n alone_o but_o we_o must_v also_o learn_v the_o way_n whereby_o such_o as_o have_v suffer_v the_o like_a tentation_n have_v be_v raise_v up_o again_o and_o here_o you_o see_v david_n what_o he_o do_v you_o see_v whither_o he_o fly_v in_o his_o great_a distress_n he_o despair_v not_o but_o cry_v unto_o the_o lord_n as_o one_o yet_o hope_v assure_o to_o find_v relief_n and_o comfort_n rest_v thou_o also_o in_o this_o hope_n and_o do_v as_o he_o do_v david_n be_v not_o tempt_v to_o the_o end_n he_o shall_v despair_v think_v not_o thou_o therefore_o that_o thy_o tentation_n be_v send_v unto_o thou_o that_o thou_o shall_v be_v swallow_v these_o bitter_a conflict_n for_o god_n will_v that_o in_o his_o church_n one_o shall_v help_v to_o comfort_v a_o other_o as_o member_n knit_v together_o in_o one_o body_n and_o he_o have_v promise_v that_o when_o two_o be_v gather_v together_o in_o his_o name_n he_o will_v be_v the_o third_o amongst_o they_o and_o doubtless_o nothing_o comfort_v a_o afflict_a conscience_n so_o much_o as_o to_o hear_v some_o godly_a brother_n declare_v out_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o such_o terror_n and_o affliction_n be_v send_v of_o god_n not_o to_o destroy_v we_o but_o to_o humble_v we_o thereby_o to_o make_v we_o to_o acknowledge_v the_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n offer_v unto_o we_o and_o to_o receive_v the_o same_o with_o thankful_a heart_n but_o if_o in_o this_o distress_n we_o be_v destitute_a of_o the_o help_n of_o such_o faithful_a brethren_n we_o must_v then_o do_v as_o davidâ—id_v â—id_z in_o this_o place_n that_o be_v we_o must_v cry_v unto_o the_o lord_n &_o pray_v come_v it_o to_o pass_v that_o in_o those_o also_o which_o be_v cast_v down_o with_o the_o behold_n and_o consideration_n of_o the_o law_n and_o their_o own_o sin_n this_o article_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n beg_v his_o bread_n from_o door_n to_o door_n then_o enjoy_v the_o riches_n and_o treasure_n of_o all_o the_o prelate_n and_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n of_o the_o pope_n who_o we_o see_v in_o this_o wealth_n of_o the_o world_n because_o they_o be_v enemy_n to_o the_o word_n to_o be_v most_o desperate_a and_o damnable_a for_o they_o be_v without_o remission_n of_o sin_n
