by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o that_o he_o leave_v other_o to_o wander_v according_a to_o the_o corruption_n and_o wickedness_n of_o their_o own_o nature_n and_o never_o draw_v they_o back_o into_o infer_v that_o man_n may_v merit_v and_o deserve_v any_o thing_n by_o serve_v of_o god_n as_o the_o papist_n when_o they_o hear_v such_o place_n they_o run_v to_o their_o merit_n and_o it_o seem_v goodness_n towards_o we_o even_o to_o call_v that_o a_o reward_n and_o recompense_n which_o he_o of_o his_o mere_a and_o free_a liberality_n give_v we_o without_o be_v therefore_o bind_v and_o concupiscence_n import_v it_o remain_v that_o we_o now_o apply_v this_o which_o have_v be_v touch_v to_o our_o use_n and_o profit_n in_o the_o first_o place_n therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v that_o be_v hold_v up_o so_o straight_o as_o to_o run_v without_o be_v hinder_v or_o stay_v yea_o to_o run_v in_o that_o way_n which_o god_n show_v we_o so_o that_o there_o be_v in_o we_o nothing_o but_o all_o purity_n and_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v well_o and_o through_o understand_v this_o we_o shall_v be_v advertise_v to_o be_v watchful_a and_o to_o stand_v on_o our_o guard_n for_o we_o see_v how_o man_n wander_v and_o lead_v themselves_o astray_o and_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n hereof_o because_o they_o reckon_v as_o we_o say_v without_o their_o host_n for_o they_o expound_v the_o law_n of_o god_o after_o their_o own_o fancy_n and_o they_o think_v it_o sufficient_a if_o their_o will_n be_v not_o wicked_a and_o that_o they_o rest_v not_o themselves_o on_o their_o evil_a thought_n well_o god_n will_v not_o impute_v this_o unto_o we_o say_v they_o and_o hereupon_o they_o walk_v on_o in_o their_o wicked_a concupiscence_n and_o they_o have_v a_o headband_n which_o they_o put_v before_o their_o eye_n that_o they_o may_v not_o know_v how_o close_o they_o deceive_v themselves_o now_o when_o man_n speak_v thus_o yet_o this_o will_v not_o serve_v they_o to_o escape_v the_o hand_n of_o the_o heavenly_a judge_n let_v we_o therefore_o take_v diligent_a heed_n we_o restrain_v ourselves_o in_o our_o concupiscence_n for_o god_n have_v not_o only_o condemn_v wicked_a law_n have_v condemn_v all_o wicked_a thought_n which_o tend_v to_o incite_v we_o unto_o evil_n see_v he_o have_v condemn_v the_o small_a motion_n which_o flatter_v &_o tickle_v we_o and_o when_o we_o we_o to_o walk_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n in_o so_o much_o the_o great_a heedfulness_n so_o then_o behold_v how_o this_o precept_n ought_v to_o awaken_v we_o when_o we_o be_v so_o sleepy_a and_o southfull_a and_o will_v so_o easy_o acquit_v ourselves_o of_o our_o duty_n towards_o god_n but_o let_v we_o know_v that_o no_o

as_o have_v some_o great_a zeal_n to_o serve_v and_o honour_v he_o but_o when_o they_o be_v conversant_a with_o man_n they_o fall_v to_o pill_n and_o spoil_v and_o beat_v of_o they_o they_o be_v full_a of_o cruelty_n of_o envy_n &_o malice_n but_o let_v we_o note_v that_o god_o have_v not_o separate_v the_o two_o table_n of_o the_o law_n he_o have_v make_v a_o distinction_n of_o they_o but_o he_o have_v not_o give_v to_o some_o the_o first_o table_n of_o the_o law_n and_o to_o other_o the_o second_o table_n he_o have_v say_v behold_v my_o law_n and_o that_o which_o i_o have_v join_v together_o must_v not_o be_v sever_v but_o must_v remain_v unseparable_a it_o be_v true_a that_o you_o ought_v to_o be_v warn_v to_o follow_v that_o charity_n which_o you_o owe_v to_o your_o neighbour_n but_o yet_o when_o you_o have_v discharge_v your_o duty_n in_o one_o point_n you_o must_v conform_v yourselves_o unto_o the_o other_o and_o you_o must_v not_o reckless_o neglect_v to_o for_o as_o much_o as_o this_o order_n which_o have_v be_v establish_v among_o the_o ancient_a people_n to_o endure_v until_o the_o come_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v then_o take_v away_o and_o abolish_v and_o the_o thing_n be_v perfect_a so_o that_o we_o be_v no_o long_o under_o these_o figure_n and_o shadow_n of_o the_o law_n which_o serve_v for_o that_o time_n but_o the_o truth_n and_o substance_n of_o the_o law_n be_v not_o to_o remain_v for_o one_o age_n but_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n which_o endure_v and_o shall_v never_o cease_v or_o have_v end_n let_v we_o therefore_o learn_v that_o god_n in_o such_o sort_n publish_v his_o will_n when_o the_o people_n come_v out_o of_o the_o land_n of_o egypt_n that_o he_o so_o speak_v in_o the_o mount_n of_o sinai_n that_o withal_o he_o deliver_v unto_o we_o there_o a_o order_n which_o we_o shall_v observe_v and_o so_o provide_v that_o his_o doctrine_n shall_v always_o have_v his_o full_a force_n and_o vigour_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n he_o have_v write_v his_o law_n in_o two_o table_n of_o stone_n he_o have_v not_o write_v it_o in_o bark_n as_o at_o that_o time_n the_o manner_n be_v or_o as_o we_o may_v now_o say_v in_o paper_n or_o in_o parchment_n but_o he_o will_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v engrave_v in_o stone_n that_o there_o may_v be_v a_o memorial_n thereof_o to_o endure_v to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v be_v confirm_v in_o this_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v for_o he_o be_v not_o content_v to_o have_v speak_v for_o one_o time_n but_o have_v engrave_v his_o law_n in_o stone_n he_o will_v we_o shall_v have_v attentive_a ear_n to_o receive_v it_o all_o the_o time_n of_o our_o life_n now_o withal_o let_v we_o note_v that_o it_o be_v true_a that_o it_o serve_v to_o no_o great_a purpose_n that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v engrave_v in_o stone_n if_o this_o be_v all_o what_o be_v then_o further_o require_v we_o must_v know_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n propose_v unto_o we_o be_v indeed_o necessary_a and_o profitable_a for_o we_o but_o yet_o that_o it_o shall_v serve_v we_o to_o small_a purpose_n except_o god_n shall_v add_v thereunto_o a_o second_o grace_n namely_o by_o man_n they_o sufficient_o declare_v that_o there_o be_v no_o fear_n of_o god_o in_o they_o for_o otherwise_o they_o will_v offer_v unto_o he_o the_o sacrifice_n which_o he_o above_o all_o other_o prefer_v namely_o 23._o obedience_n as_o hereof_o it_o be_v entreat_v in_o the_o first_o book_n of_o samuel_n the_o fifteen_o chapter_n that_o if_o man_n harken_v not_o unto_o the_o voice_n of_o god_n shall_v speak_v we_o will_v know_v that_o every_o mouth_n must_v be_v stop_v &_o that_o our_o ear_n must_v be_v open_v to_o hear_v and_o to_o receive_v whatsoever_o he_o shall_v say_v unto_o we_o but_o yet_o it_o suffice_v not_o that_o every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o part_n only_o employ_v himself_o to_o serve_v and_o honour_n god_n but_o we_o must_v procure_v and_o endeavour_n as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v that_o he_o be_v adore_v and_o worship_v of_o the_o whole_a world_n yea_o we_o must_v labour_v that_o his_o service_n may_v endure_v and_o continue_v after_o our_o death_n that_o the_o name_n of_o god_o live_v not_o and_o die_v with_o we_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o world_n but_o that_o it_o remain_v and_o abide_v unto_o all_o posterity_n and_o lo_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o moses_n say_v their_o child_n and_o those_o which_o shall_v issue_v from_o their_o race_n shall_v continue_v to_o serve_v god_n and_o too_o bserue_v his_o law_n let_v we_o therefore_o diligent_o note_v that_o moses_n in_o this_o place_n not_o only_o exhort_v every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o time_n to_o serve_v and_o obey_v god_o by_o conform_v his_o life_n unto_o the_o law_n which_o he_o have_v deliver_v but_o he_o will_v that_o father_n bestow_v all_o their_o pain_n to_o instruct_v their_o child_n that_o we_o may_v leave_v such_o a_o seed_n after_o we_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a as_o that_o god_n be_v worship_v of_o our_o posterity_n that_o his_o name_n be_v always_o pure_o and_o sincere_o call_v upon_o &_o that_o by_o this_o mean_a they_o which_o shall_v be_v descend_v from_o our_o loin_n may_v be_v bless_v and_o that_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n wherein_o our_o salvation_n be_v contain_v endure_v for_o ever_o and_o never_o perish_v albeit_o we_o be_v mertall_a and_o of_o small_a continuance_n but_o we_o be_v so_o far_o from_o discharge_v our_o duty_n in_o this_o doctrine_n that_o we_o may_v see_v father_n give_v such_o example_n unto_o their_o child_n that_o it_o seem_v they_o have_v conspire_v to_o abolish_v and_o to_o take_v clean_o away_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o the_o whole_a observation_n of_o his_o law_n we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o marvel_v if_o god_o also_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o we_o and_o that_o it_o seem_v that_o he_o will_v cut_v off_o quite_o all_o the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n which_o he_o have_v bestow_v on_o we_o for_o be_v we_o worthy_a unto_o who_o he_o shall_v continue_v they_o see_v we_o be_v so_o reckless_a and_o negligent_a to_o procure_v that_o his_o service_n and_o worship_n may_v continue_v in_o his_o entire_a and_o perfect_a estate_n and_o yet_o this_o shall_v serve_v we_o to_o so_o good_a a_o purpose_n as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a let_v we_o therefore_o labour_n with_o all_o our_o might_n to_o teach_v those_o which_o shall_v come_v after_o we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o the_o worship_n of_o god_o and_o his_o service_n may_v continue_v for_o ever_o and_o that_o man_n always_o know_v and_o acknowledge_v he_o for_o the_o father_n and_o saviour_n of_o all_o the_o world_n and_o give_v themselves_o over_o full_o and_o whole_o unto_o he_o withal_o moses_n have_v adjoin_v that_o whereof_o he_o have_v before_o speak_v that_o this_o be_v to_o the_o end_n that_o their_o day_n may_v be_v prolong_v and_o that_o god_o may_v make_v the_o people_n to_o prosper_v according_a to_o the_o promise_n which_o he_o make_v unto_o their_o father_n that_o he_o will_v geve_v they_o a_o land_n flow_v with_o milk_n &_o honey_n we_o have_v already_o expound_v what_o moses_n have_v understand_v by_o this_o word_n namely_o that_o god_n albeit_o by_o one_o word_n he_o may_v constrain_v we_o to_o serve_v he_o notwithstanding_o use_v towards_o we_o a_o most_o mild_a and_o amiable_a manner_n to_o win_v we_o to_o himself_o when_o he_o promise_v we_o a_o reward_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v serve_v he_o not_o that_o our_o work_v deserve_v any_o thing_n or_o that_o he_o be_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o bind_v unto_o we_o but_o when_o he_o gratifi_v we_o so_o and_o be_v in_o such_o wise_a beneficial_a towards_o we_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o we_o may_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o lively_a touch_v &_o that_o we_o may_v serve_v he_o with_o a_o more_o ardent_a zeal_n &_o desire_n for_o shall_v we_o not_o be_v over_o wicked_a and_o unthankful_a when_o we_o hear_v that_o god_n of_o his_o own_o good_a will_n bind_v himself_o unto_o we_o and_o that_o he_o will_v propose_v unto_o we_o a_o reward_n and_o recompense_v shall_v we_o not_o i_o say_v be_v over_o wicked_a and_o unthankful_a if_o we_o apply_v not_o ourselves_o whole_o unto_o his_o service_n we_o be_v his_o and_o whatsoever_o we_o be_v able_a to_o do_v we_o owe_v unto_o he_o as_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n speak_v plain_o hereof_o who_o be_v you_o say_v he_o i_o demand_n of_o you_o when_o a_o man_n shall_v have_v a_o servant_n yea_o a_o slave_n who_o he_o shall_v burden_v and_o press_v as_o a_o ox_n or_o a_o horse_n whether_o if_o this_o slave_n have_v do_v he_o any_o service_n he_o will_v rise_v from_o the_o table_n to_o serve_v he_o when_o may_v rather_o accurse_v and_o detest_v we_o for_o who_o be_v he_o among_o we_o which_o observe_v the_o law_n as_o be_v requisite_a if_o we_o observe_v one_o article_n thereof_o we_o fail_v in_o a_o hundred_o and_o when_o we_o think_v to_o fulfil_v that_o which_o god_n have_v command_v we_o in_o his_o law_n we_o falter_v therein_o we_o trail_v our_o leg_n after_o we_o there_o be_v always_o such_o
