of_o we_o if_o we_o lie_v 3._o confession_n that_o god_n punish_v perjury_n either_o express_v or_o imply_v open_o or_o secret_o which_o confession_n be_v threefold_a 1._o a_o man_n confess_v that_o store_n themselves_o with_o meat_n or_o money_n or_o any_o other_o thing_n which_o be_v right_a covetousness_n and_o when_o they_o murmur_v and_o grudge_v at_o their_o condition_n not_o bear_v the_o burden_n of_o poverty_n patient_o murmur_v also_o at_o he_o that_o send_v it_o for_o whosoever_o disdain_v his_o present_a state_n because_o it_o be_v not_o high_o rich_a and_o better_o be_v covetous_a this_o be_v the_o sin_n cause_v the_o rich_a man_n to_o forgo_v the_o saviour_n of_o mankind_n rather_o than_o his_o temporal_a possession_n this_o make_v it_o be_v as_o difficult_a a_o what_o we_o covet_v 4._o let_v we_o shut_v our_o eye_n against_o the_o behold_n of_o tempt_a object_n for_o by_o the_o outward_a sense_n the_o fire_n of_o concupiseence_n be_v kindle_v within_o we_o and_o withal_o let_v we_o ardent_o and_o constant_o pray_v for_o the_o extinguish_n of_o this_o fire_n and_o to_o have_v a_o fire_n of_o heavenly_a desire_n kindle_v in_o we_o the_o covetous_a be_v idolater_n two_o way_n viz._n 1._o because_o they_o prefer_v their_o riches_n in_o their_o affection_n before_o god_n the_o gift_n before_o the_o giver_n depend_v more_o on_o they_o then_o on_o god_n trust_v in_o they_o as_o in_o god_n 2._o because_o they_o account_v their_o life_n to_o consist_v in_o their_o riches_n and_o to_o rest_v upon_o their_o wealth_n rather_o than_o to_o stand_v on_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n fail_v of_o all_o hope_n and_o comfort_n and_o joy_n when_o their_o wealth_n fail_v they_o this_o be_v satan_n bait_n even_o to_o our_o saviour_n christ_n himself_o to_o
