other_o particular_n relate_v to_o the_o suffering_n of_o jesus_n of_o the_o great_a cause_n and_o reason_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o jesus_n of_o the_o burial_n of_o jesus_n i_o shall_v now_o proceed_v to_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o jesus_n and_o from_o thence_o prove_v that_o our_o jesus_n be_v the_o christ_n that_o jesus_n do_v suffer_v the_o jew_n do_v confess_v and_o they_o make_v to_o scruple_n to_o grant_v it_o and_o he_o be_v upon_o that_o score_n reproach_v by_o they_o and_o upon_o the_o same_o account_n his_o disciple_n and_o follower_n have_v be_v scorn_v by_o the_o world_n who_o profess_v a_o faith_n in_o a_o crucify_a saviour_n and_o expect_v to_o be_v save_v by_o he_o who_o do_v not_o so_o much_o as_o save_v himself_o from_o the_o most_o painful_a and_o ignominious_a death_n when_o i_o speak_v to_o the_o suffering_n of_o jesus_n i_o mean_v his_o suffering_n in_o the_o large_a sense_n and_o not_o only_o his_o death_n however_o i_o shall_v principal_o consider_v his_o death_n here_o and_o from_o that_o especial_o shall_v prove_v he_o to_o be_v the_o christ_n and_o for_o the_o better_a speak_v to_o this_o whole_a matter_n i_o shall_v proceed_v in_o this_o method_n first_o i_o shall_v show_v that_o the_o messiah_n who_o be_v promise_v be_v to_o suffer_v second_o that_o jesus_n do_v suffer_v three_o that_o from_o the_o suffering_n of_o our_o jesus_n it_o do_v appear_v that_o he_o be_v the_o christ_n four_o i_o shall_v inquire_v after_o the_o cause_n or_o reason_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n last_o i_o shall_v direct_v you_o to_o some_o practical_a application_n i_o shall_v show_v that_o the_o messiah_n promise_v of_o old_a be_v to_o suffer_v and_o this_o especial_o against_o the_o jew_n who_o do_v not_o deny_v that_o jesus_n suffer_v but_o do_v deny_v he_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n the_o son_n of_o david_n because_o he_o suffer_v this_o be_v the_o scandal_n of_o the_o cross_n at_o which_o the_o jew_n stumble_v and_o fall_v here_o they_o be_v offend_v and_o at_o a_o stand_n now_o that_o the_o messiah_n be_v to_o suffer_v and_o jesus_n not_o to_o be_v reject_v upon_o that_o account_n will_v appear_v if_o we_o consider_v the_o follow_a particular_n first_o i_o must_v premise_v that_o it_o be_v a_o very_a unreasonable_a thing_n that_o jesus_n shall_v be_v reproach_v or_o reject_v upon_o the_o score_n of_o his_o suffering_n the_o jew_n have_v no_o cause_n for_o this_o reason_n to_o scorn_v he_o as_o they_o common_o do_v for_o his_o suffering_n do_v not_o speak_v he_o a_o evil_a person_n or_o one_o unfit_a to_o deliver_v and_o save_v his_o follower_n from_o the_o great_a evil_n viz._n from_o

shall_v find_v frequent_a prediction_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n three_o this_o be_v so_o plain_a a_o truth_n 1._o abkath_v rochelim_n l._n 1._o and_o so_o undeniable_a even_o by_o the_o jew_n themselves_o that_o the_o late_a of_o they_o have_v devise_v a_o suffering_n messiah_n the_o son_n of_o joseph_n of_o the_o tribe_n of_o ephraim_n and_o now_o they_o speak_v of_o a_o twofold_a messiah_n one_o the_o son_n of_o joseph_n to_o suffer_v death_n if_o need_v be_v another_o the_o son_n of_o david_n to_o save_v and_o to_o deliver_v they_o this_o indeed_o be_v a_o vain_a conceit_n it_o be_v groundless_a and_o it_o be_v novel_a it_o have_v no_o foundation_n in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n nor_o in_o their_o most_o ancient_a and_o genuine_a writer_n it_o be_v destitute_a of_o all_o betake_v themselves_o to_o this_o refuge_n because_o they_o can_v deny_v that_o the_o messiah_n be_v to_o suffer_v and_o though_o it_o serve_v to_o no_o other_o purpose_n yet_o it_o serve_v to_o this_o that_o we_o have_v gain_v the_o point_n we_o contend_v for_o against_o themselves_o viz._n that_o the_o messiah_n be_v to_o suffer_v and_o that_o therefore_o our_o jesus_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v reject_v upon_o that_o account_n that_o our_o jesus_n do_v suffer_v this_o be_v confess_v on_o all_o hand_n the_o jew_n deny_v it_o not_o but_o mention_v he_o frequent_o with_o scorn_n upon_o this_o account_n i_o shall_v be_v very_o vain_a if_o i_o shall_v be_v operose_fw-la under_o this_o head_n he_o must_v be_v very_o ignorant_a who_o have_v not_o hear_v of_o the_o suffering_n of_o
