gospel_n and_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o draw_v away_o man_n mind_n from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n unto_o their_o own_o opinion_n which_o be_v a_o thing_n very_o pernicious_a and_o hurtful_a such_o be_v in_o old_a time_n the_o manichee_n and_o enthusiast_n and_o such_o be_v the_o anabaptist_n now_o adays_o these_o and_o such_o like_a frenzy_n we_o do_v most_o constant_o condemn_v for_o they_o abolish_v the_o true_a use_n of_o god_n word_n and_o do_v false_o imagine_v that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n may_v be_v receive_v without_o the_o word_n and_o stick_v too_o much_o to_o their_o own_o fancy_n they_o invent_v wicked_a opinion_n and_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o infinite_a breach_n these_o thing_n
doctrine_n of_o faith_n while_o they_o leave_v the_o conscience_n in_o doubt_n and_o will_v have_v man_n to_o merit_v remission_n of_o sin_n by_o their_o work_n and_o teach_v not_o that_o we_o do_v by_o faith_n alone_o undoubted_o receive_v remission_n of_o sin_n for_o christ_n sake_n when_o as_o therefore_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n which_o shall_v be_v especial_o above_o other_o teach_v in_o the_o church_n have_v be_v so_o long_o unknown_a as_o all_o man_n must_v needs_o grant_v that_o there_o be_v not_o a_o word_n of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n in_o all_o their_o sermon_n and_o that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o work_n only_o be_v usual_a in_o the_o church_n for_o this_o cause_n our_o divine_n do_v thus_o admonish_v the_o church_n first_o that_o our_o work_n can_v reconcile_v god_n unto_o we_o or_o deserve_v remission_n of_o sin_n grace_n and_o justification_n at_o his_o hand_n but_o this_o we_o must_v obtain_v by_o faith_n while_o we_o believe_v that_o we_o beside_o vow_n by_o little_a and_o little_a many_o other_o observation_n be_v add_v and_o these_o band_n and_o snare_n be_v cast_v upon_o many_o before_o they_o come_v to_o ripe_a year_n contrary_a to_o the_o canon_n many_o through_o error_n fall_v into_o this_o kind_n of_o life_n unaware_o who_o though_o they_o want_v no_o year_n yet_o they_o want_v discretion_n to_o judge_v of_o their_o god_n commandment_n follow_v their_o call_n without_o any_o such_o religion_n of_o man_n make_v none_o of_o these_o thing_n can_v be_v deny_v they_o be_v to_o be_v see_v in_o their_o writing_n what_o fall_v out_o afterward_o in_o the_o monastery_n in_o old_a time_n there_o be_v school_n for_o the_o study_n of_o divinity_n and_o other_o art_n which_o be_v profitable_a to_o the_o church_n and_o thence_o be_v pastor_n and_o bishop_n take_v but_o now_o the_o case_n be_v alter_v it_o be_v needless_a to_o rehearse_v their_o vow_n in_o old_a time_n they_o come_v together_o into_o such_o place_n to_o learn_v but_o now_o they_o feign_v that_o it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o life_n take_v up_o to_o merit_v remission_n of_o sin_n and_o justification_n yea_o they_o say_v it_o be_v a_o state_n of_o perfection_n and_o prefer_v it_o to_o all_o other_o kind_n of_o life_n that_o god_n ordain_v we_o have_v therefore_o mention_v these_o thing_n amplify_a nothing_o odious_o to_o the_o end_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v in_o a_o thing_n possible_a which_o ought_v to_o be_v voluntary_a and_o take_v up_o of_o a_o man_n own_o accord_n and_o with_o advice_n or_o deliberation_n but_o it_o be_v not_o unknown_a how_o perpetual_a chastity_n be_v in_o the_o power_n of_o a_o man_n and_o how_o many_o among_o they_o be_v there_o that_o do_v vow_n of_o his_o own_o accord_n and_o with_o advice_n wench_n and_o young_a maid_n before_o they_o know_v how_o to_o judge_v be_v persuade_v yea_o sometime_o also_o compel_v to_o vow_n wherefore_o it_o be_v not_o meet_v to_o dispute_v so_o rigorous_o of_o the_o bond_n see_v that_o all_o man_n confess_v that_o it_o be_v against_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o vow_n which_o be_v not_o do_v of_o a_o man_n own_o accord_n or_o unadvised_o the_o canon_n for_o the_o that_o for_o the_o most_o part_n they_o woo_v before_o they_o come_v to_o this_o age_n last_o of_o all_o although_o the_o break_n of_o a_o vow_n may_v be_v reprehend_v yet_o it_o follow_v not_o that_o the_o marriage_n of_o such_o person_n be_v to_o be_v dissolve_v for_o augustine_n in_o his_o 27._o quest_n 1._o cap_n of_o marriage_n do_v deny_v that_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v dissolve_v and_o his_o authority_n be_v not_o light_o to_o be_v esteem_v although_o other_o afterward_o have_v think_v otherwise_o and_o although_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n touch_v wedlock_n do_v free_v most_o man_n man_n but_o that_o it_o come_v by_o faith_n to_o those_o that_o believe_v that_o they_o have_v god_n pacify_v and_o reconcile_v to_o they_o for_o christ_n not_o for_o any_o of_o their_o merit_n but_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o monk_n do_v teach_v that_o these_o make_v or_o counterfeit_a religion_n do_v deserve_v remission_n of_o sin_n and_o justification_n and_o that_o they_o do_v satisfy_v for_o sin_n what_o else_o be_v this_o then_o to_o detract_v from_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o to_o obscure_v and_o deny_v the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n wherefore_o it_o follow_v that_o these_o vow_n thus_o use_v be_v wicked_a worship_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v of_o no_o value_n for_o a_o wicked_a vow_n and_o that_o which_o be_v make_v against_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n be_v of_o no_o force_n neither_o aught_o a_o vow_n to_o be_v a_o bond_n of_o iniquity_n as_o the_o canon_n say_v paul_n say_v you_o be_v make_v void_a of_o christ_n which_o seek_v to_o be_v justify_v
