that_o every_o householder_n within_o the_o say_a city_n the_o suburb_n and_o liberty_n thereof_o and_o in_o all_o other_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a who_o house_n adjoin_v unto_o and_o be_v next_o the_o street_n from_o michaelmas_n until_o our_o lady-day_n yearly_a shall_v every_o night_n set_v or_o hang_v out_o candle_n or_o light_n in_o lantern_n or_o otherwise_o in_o some_o part_n of_o his_o comptroller_n farmer_n of_o custom_n supervisor_n searcher_n and_o other_o officer_n belong_v to_o the_o custom_n and_o to_o and_o for_o all_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n mayor_n and_o chief_a officer_n of_o corporation_n within_o this_o realm_n dominion_n of_o wales_n or_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o well_o by_o land_n as_o water_n to_o search_v for_o and_o seize_v any_o leather_n or_o raw_a hide_v wrought_v or_o unwrought_a cut_v or_o uncut_v pack_v up_o or_o unpacked_a intend_a or_o purpose_v to_o be_v transport_v by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n into_o any_o part_n beyond_o the_o sea_n or_o into_o scotland_n other_o than_o calves-skin_n and_o shéep-skin_n as_o aforesaid_a tanner_n shave_v of_o leather_n by_o tanner_n and_o whereas_o adjudge_v and_o declare_v to_o be_v a_o common_a and_o public_a nuisance_n provide_v nevertheless_o that_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o extend_v or_o be_v construe_v to_o prohibit_v the_o carry_n or_o convey_v of_o any_o such_o hide_n or_o leather_n which_o shall_v be_v use_v or_o employ_v for_o the_o necessary_a use_n or_o provision_n of_o any_o ship_n or_o vessel_n in_o any_o voyage_n beyond_o the_o sea_n and_o which_o shall_v not_o be_v sell_v in_o any_o foreign_a part_n so_o as_o the_o number_n do_v not_o excee_v six_o raw_a hide_n and_o three_o tan_a hide_n provide_v always_o whatsoever_o which_o shall_v hereafter_o buy_v any_o red_a tan_a leather_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n thereof_o shall_v before_o the_o next_o market-day_n within_o the_o say_a place_n for_o sale_n of_o leather_n give_v notice_n thereof_o to_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o company_n of_o curryers_n then_o exercise_v and_o use_v the_o art_n and_o mystery_n of_o a_o there_o the_o penalty_n by_o the_o say_a act_n make_v in_o the_o first_o year_n of_o king_n james_n that_o no_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v by_o any_o mean_n occupy_v or_o put_v in_o any_o made-ware_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n of_o the_o same_o city_n any_o curried_a leather_n before_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v search_v and_o allow_v by_o the_o warden_n of_o the_o curryers_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o such_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v thereto_o assign_v and_o be_v seal_v with_o a_o seal_n therefore_o to_o be_v prepare_v upon_o payment_n of_o the_o duty_n of_o excise_n shall_v be_v hear_v and_o determine_v in_o the_o proper_a county_n or_o in_o the_o several_a riding_n and_o division_n of_o yorkshire_n and_o lincolnshire_n where_o they_o shall_v arise_v and_o not_o elsewhere_o fe_n commissioner_n or_o farmer_n may_v take_v no_o fe_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o farmer_n commissioner_n sub-commissioner_n or_o other_o officer_n of_o excise_n shall_v direct_o or_o indirect_o take_v or_o receive_v any_o money_n fee_n or_o reward_n for_o or_o concern_v the_o take_n of_o any_o bond_n or_o give_v any_o receipt_n or_o note_n in_o write_v relate_v to_o the_o excise_n to_o or_o from_o any_o person_n or_o person_n whatsoever_o upon_o pain_n that_o every_o such_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o ten_o shilling_n act._n who_o may_v hear_v and_o determine_v matter_n upon_o this_o act._n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o or_o chief_a magistrate_n in_o the_o several_a county_n city_n division_n and_o place_n within_o england_n and_o wales_n respective_o shall_v meet_v once_o in_o every_o month_n in_o their_o respective_a division_n or_o often_o if_o there_o shall_v be_v cause_n of_o excise_n within_o the_o immediate_a limit_n of_o the_o chief_a office_n of_o london_n nor_o within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o present_a farm_n of_o london_n during_o the_o continuance_n of_o such_o farm_n shall_v be_v admit_v unless_o the_o same_o be_v bring_v within_o two_o month_n next_o after_o the_o first_o judgement_n and_o notice_n thereof_o give_v or_o leave_v at_o the_o dwellinghouse_n of_o the_o party_n or_o party_n concern_v therein_o nor_o shall_v any_o appeal_n in_o any_o matter_n or_o cause_n of_o excise_n in_o any_o other_o county_n city_n town_n or_o place_n neglect_v or_o refuse_v to_o perform_v he_o or_o their_o duty_n in_o the_o due_a and_o speedy_a execution_n of_o this_o present_a act_n the_o say_v respective_a commissioner_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o have_v hereby_o power_n to_o impose_v on_o such_o person_n or_o person_n so_o refuse_v or_o neglect_v their_o duty_n such_o fine_a or_o fine_n as_o to_o they_o shall_v be_v think_v controversy_n to_o withdraw_v and_o not_o vote_n and_o it_o be_v hereby_o enact_v and_o declare_v that_o in_o case_n any_o controversy_n arise_v concern_v the_o say_a assessment_n or_o the_o divide_n the_o prosecution_n of_o such_o as_o be_v accountable_a for_o prize-goods_a repeal_v â—or_a 14_o car._n 2._o cap._n 14._o direction_n for_o recovery_n of_o prize-goods_a not_o account_v â—or_a whereas_o by_o a_o act_n make_v in_o this_o present_a parliament_n entitle_v a_o act_n direct_v the_o prosecution_n of_o such_o as_o be_v accountable_a for_o prize-goods_a it_o be_v among_o other_o thing_n enact_v that_o all_o and_o every_o admiral_n vice-admirals_n captain_n of_o ship_n officer_n and_o mariner_n that_o do_v surprise_v or_o receive_v to_o or_o for_o the_o public_a use_n or_o by_o pretence_n thereof_o any_o ship_n plate_n jewel_n bullion_n money_n silver_n gold_n arm_n ammunition_n wax_v merchandize_n or_o any_o manner_n of_o good_n whatsoever_o seize_v or_o take_v for_o prize_n betwixt_o the_o thirty_o of_o january_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o forty_o two_o and_o the_o nine_o and_o twenty_o day_n of_o may_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o that_o have_v not_o at_o the_o make_n of_o the_o say_a act_n true_o account_v for_o and_o pay_v in_o the_o same_o or_o the_o just_a provenue_n thereof_o shall_v be_v chargeable_a to_o his_o majesty_n for_o the_o say_a premise_n and_o convene_v and_o sue_v for_o in_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o admiralty_n and_o call_v to_o account_v or_o otherwise_o by_o such_o suit_n and_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o say_a court_n of_o admiralty_n make_v into_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o exchequer_n speedy_a proceed_n be_v to_o be_v have_v in_o the_o say_a court_n of_o exchequer_n for_o the_o recover_n and_o levy_v of_o the_o prize_n good_n matter_n and_o thing_n as_o by_o the_o say_a act_n relation_n be_v thereunto_o have_v more_o plain_o full_o and_o at_o large_a appear_v whereupon_o divers_a captain_n and_o officer_n of_o his_o majesty_n fleet_n and_o several_a other_o the_o commander_n officer_n and_o mariner_n employ_v in_o the_o sea-service_n have_v be_v sue_v or_o may_v possible_o be_v sue_v concern_v the_o several_a prize_n and_o prize-goods_a by_o they_o heretofore_o seize_v and_o take_v at_o sea_n or_o in_o port_n since_o the_o month_n of_o january_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o forty_o two_o and_o before_o the_o twenty_o nine_o of_o may_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o contrary_a to_o the_o grace_n and_o favour_n extend_v towards_o they_o not_o only_o in_o and_o by_o his_o majesty_n most_o gracious_a act_n of_o free_a and_o general_a pardon_n indemnity_n and_o oblivion_n but_o also_o by_o a_o proclamation_n since_o make_v by_o his_o majesty_n bear_v date_n the_o fourteen_o day_n of_o july_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o two_o in_o the_o fourteen_o year_n of_o his_o majesty_n reign_n declare_v his_o majesty_n grace_n and_o favour_n towards_o act_n for_o direct_v the_o prosecution_n of_o such_o as_o be_v accountable_a for_o prize-goods_a and_o all_o and_o every_o branch_n clause_n power_n and_o article_n and_o every_o matter_n and_o thing_n therein_o contain_v for_o so_o much_o only_o and_o as_o for_o and_o concern_v all_o and_o every_o admiral_n vice-admirals_n captain_n of_o ship_n officer_n of_o ship_n or_o vessel_n seaman_n and_o mariner_n and_o every_o of_o they_o shall_v be_v and_o be_v hereby_o from_o henceforth_o repeal_v annul_v and_o make_v void_a and_o of_o no_o effect_n to_o all_o intent_n and_o purpose_n
