his_o condition_n and_o therefore_o saint_n paul_n say_v that_o he_o preserve_v all_o thing_n and_o iii._n bear_v they_o up_o still_o in_o his_o word_n leave_v they_o shall_v fall_v without_o he_o to_o their_o nothing_o again_o whereof_o of_o they_o be_v make_v if_o his_o special_a goodness_n be_v not_o every_o where_o present_a every_o creature_n shall_v be_v out_o of_o order_n and_o no_o creature_n shall_v have_v his_o property_n wherein_o he_o be_v first_o create_v he_o be_v therefore_o invisible_a every_o where_o and_o in_o every_o creature_n and_o fulfil_v both_o heaven_n and_o earth_n with_o his_o presence_n in_o the_o fire_n to_o geve_v heat_n in_o the_o water_n to_o geve_v moisture_n in_o the_o earth_n to_o geve_v fruit_n in_o the_o heart_n to_o geve_v his_o strength_n thou_o and_o moses_n agree_v to_o the_o same_o when_o he_o say_v man_n life_n rest_v not_o in_o bread_n 8._o only_o but_o in_o every_o word_n which_o proceed_v out_o of_o god_n mouth_n it_o be_v neither_o the_o herb_n nor_o the_o plaster_n that_o give_v health_n of_o themselves_o but_o thy_o word_n oh_o lord_n say_v the_o wise_a man_n which_o heal_v 17._o all_o thing_n it_o be_v not_o therefore_o the_o power_n of_o the_o creature_n which_o work_v their_o effect_n but_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n which_o work_v in_o they_o in_o his_o word_n true_o do_v all_o thing_n consist_v by_o rule_v they_o how_o can_v it_o be_v that_o the_o main_a sea_n so_o rage_a and_o labour_v to_o overflow_v the_o earth_n can_v be_v keep_v within_o his_o bond_n and_o bank_n as_o it_o be_v that_o holy_a man_n job_n evident_o spy_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n in_o this_o point_n and_o confess_v that_o if_o he_o have_v not_o a_o special_a goodness_n to_o the_o preservation_n of_o the_o earth_n it_o can_v not_o but_o short_o be_v overflow_v of_o the_o sea_n how_o can_v it_o be_v that_o the_o element_n so_o divers_a and_o contrary_a as_o they_o be_v among_o themselves_o shall_v yet_o agree_v and_o abide_v together_o in_o a_o concord_n without_o destruction_n one_o of_o another_o to_o serve_v our_o use_n if_o it_o come_v not_o only_o of_o god_n goodness_n so_o to_o temper_v they_o how_o can_v the_o fire_n not_o burn_v and_o consume_v all_o thing_n if_o it_o be_v leave_v loose_a to_o go_v whither_o it_o will_v and_o not_o stay_v in_o his_o sphere_n by_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n measurable_o to_o heat_v these_o inferior_a creature_n to_o their_o rype_v consider_v the_o huge_a substance_n of_o the_o earth_n so_o heavy_a and_o great_a as_o it_o be_v how_o can_v it_o so_o stand_v stablye_o in_o the_o place_n as_o it_o do_v if_o god_n goodness_n reserve_v it_o not_o so_o for_o we_o to_o travail_v on_o it_o be_v thou_o oh_o lord_n say_v david_n 103._o which_o haste_n found_v the_o earth_n in_o his_o stability_n and_o during_o thy_o word_n it_o shall_v never_o reel_v or_o fall_v down_o consider_v the_o great_a strong_a beast_n and_o fish_n far_o pass_v the_o strength_n of_o man_n how_o fierce_a so_o ever_o they_o be_v and_o strong_a yet_o by_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n they_o prevail_v not_o against_o we_o but_o be_v under_o our_o subjection_n and_o serve_v our_o use_n of_o who_o come_v the_o invention_n thus_o to_o subdue_v they_o and_o make_v they_o fit_a for_o our_o commodity_n be_v it_o by_o man_n brain_n nay_o rather_o this_o invention_n come_v by_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n which_o inspire_v man_n understanding_n to_o have_v his_o purpose_n of_o every_o creature_n who_o be_v it_o say_v job_n that_o put_v will_n and_o 33._o wisdom_n in_o man_n head_n but_o god_n only_o of_o his_o goodness_n and_o as_o the_o same_o say_v again_o i_o perceive_v that_o every_o man_n have_v a_o mind_n but_o it_o be_v the_o inspiration_n of_o the_o almighty_a that_o give_v understanding_n it_o can_v not_o be_v very_o good_a christian_a people_n that_o man_n of_o his_o own_o wit_n unholpen_v shall_v invent_v so_o many_o and_o divers_a device_n in_o all_o craft_n &_o science_n except_o the_o goodness_n of_o almighty_a god_n have_v be_v present_a with_o man_n and_o have_v stir_v their_o wit_n and_o study_n of_o purpose_n to_o know_v the_o nature_n and_o disposition_n of_o all_o his_o creature_n to_o serve_v we_o sufficient_o in_o our_o need_n and_o necessity_n yea_o not_o only_o to_o serve_v our_o necessity_n but_o to_o serve_v our_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n more_o than_o necessity_n require_v so_o liberal_a be_v god_n goodness_n to_o we_o to_o provoke_v we_o to_o thank_v he_o if_o any_o heart_n we_o have_v the_o wise_a man_n in_o his_o contemplation_n by_o himself_o can_v not_o but_o grant_v this_o thing_n to_o be_v true_a that_o i_o reason_n unto_o you_o in_o his_o hand_n say_v he_o be_v we_o and_o our_o word_n and_o disposition_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o element_n the_o beginning_n and_o end_n of_o time_n the_o change_n and_o diversity_n of_o they_o the_o course_n of_o the_o year_n the_o order_n of_o the_o star_n the_o nature_n of_o beast_n and_o the_o power_n of_o they_o the_o power_n of_o the_o wind_n and_o thought_n of_o man_n the_o difference_n of_o planet_n the_o virtue_n of_o root_n and_o what_o soever_o be_v hide_v and_o secret_a in_o nature_n i_o learn_v it_o the_o artificer_n of_o all_o these_o teach_v i_o this_o wisdom_n and_o further_o he_o say_v who_o can_v 9_o search_v out_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o heaven_n for_o it_o be_v hear_v for_o we_o to_o search_v such_o thing_n as_o be_v on_o earth_n and_o in_o daily_a sight_n afore_o we_o for_o our_o wit_n 9_o and_o thought_n say_v he_o be_v imperfect_a and_o our_o policy_n uncertain_a no_o man_n can_v therefore_o search_v out_o the_o meaning_n in_o these_o thing_n except_o thou_o give_v wisdom_n and_o send_v thy_o spirit_n from_o above_o if_o the_o wise_a man_n thus_o confess_v all_o these_o thing_n to_o be_v of_o god_n why_o shall_v not_o we_o acknowledge_v it_o and_o by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o consider_v our_o duty_n to_o godward_o and_o geve_v he_o thank_n for_o his_o goodness_n i_o perceive_v that_o i_o be_o far_o here_o overcharge_v with_o the_o plenty_n and_o copy_n of_o matter_n that_o may_v be_v bring_v in_o for_o the_o proof_n of_o this_o cause_n if_o i_o shall_v enter_v to_o show_v how_o the_o goodness_n of_o almighty_a god_n appear_v every_o where_o in_o the_o creature_n of_o the_o world_n how_o marvellous_a they_o be_v in_o their_o creation_n how_o beawtify_v in_o their_o order_n how_o necessary_a they_o be_v to_o our_o use_n all_o with_o one_o voice_n must_v needs_o grant_v their_o author_n to_o be_v none_o other_o but_o almighty_a god_n his_o goodness_n must_v they_o needs_o extol_v and_o magnify_v
the_o principal_a and_o most_o usual_a cause_n as_o special_o ambition_n and_o ignorance_n by_o ambition_n i_o mean_v the_o unlawful_a and_o restless_a desire_n in_o man_n to_o be_v of_o high_a estate_n than_o god_n have_v give_v or_o appoint_v unto_o they_o by_o ignorance_n i_o mean_v no_o unskilfulness_n in_o art_n or_o science_n but_o the_o lack_n of_o knowledge_n of_o god_n bless_a will_n declare_v in_o his_o holy_a word_n which_o teach_v both_o extreme_o to_o abhor_v all_o rebellion_n as_o the_o root_n of_o all_o mischief_n and_o special_o to_o delight_v in_o obedience_n as_o the_o beginning_a and_o foundation_n of_o all_o goodness_n as_o have_v be_v also_o before_o specify_v and_o as_o these_o be_v the_o two_o cheese_n cause_n of_o rebellion_n so_o be_v there_o special_o two_o sort_n of_o man_n in_o who_o these_o vice_n do_v reign_v by_o who_o the_o devil_n the_o author_n of_o all_o evil_n do_v chief_o stir_v up_o all_o disobedience_n and_o rebellion_n the_o restless_a ambitious_a have_v once_o determine_v by_o one_o mean_n or_o other_o to_o atcheeve_v to_o their_o intend_a purpose_n when_o they_o can_v not_o by_o lawful_a and_o peaceable_a mean_n climb_v so_o high_a as_o they_o do_v desire_v they_o attempt_v the_o same_o by_o force_n and_o violence_n wherein_o when_o they_o can_v not_o prevail_v against_o the_o ordinary_a authority_n and_o power_n of_o lawful_a prince_n and_o governor_n themselves_o alone_o they_o do_v seek_v the_o aid_n and_o help_v of_o the_o ignorant_a multitude_n abuse_v they_o to_o their_o wicked_a purpose_n wherefore_o see_v a_o few_o ambitious_a and_o malicious_a be_v the_o author_n &_o head_n and_o multitude_n of_o ignorant_a man_n be_v the_o minister_n and_o furtherer_n of_o rebellion_n the_o chief_a point_n of_o this_o part_n shall_v be_v aswell_o to_o notify_v to_o the_o simple_a and_o ignorant_a man_n who_o they_o be_v that_o have_v ben_fw-mi and_o be_v the_o usual_a author_n of_o rebellion_n that_o they_o may_v know_v they_o and_o also_o to_o admonish_v they_o to_o beware_v of_o the_o subtle_a suggestion_n of_o such_o restless_a ambitious_a person_n and_o so_o to_o flee_v they_o that_o rebellion_n though_o attempt_v by_o a_o few_o ambitious_a through_o the_o lack_n of_o maintenance_n by_o any_o multitude_n may_v speedy_o and_o easy_o without_o any_o great_a labour_n danger_n or_o damage_n be_v repress_v and_o clear_o extinguish_v it_o be_v well_o know_v as_o well_o by_o all_o history_n as_o by_o daily_a experience_n that_o none_o have_v either_o more_o ambitious_o aspire_v above_o emperor_n king_n and_o prince_n nor_o have_v more_o pernicious_o move_v the_o ignorant_a people_n to_o rebellion_n against_o their_o prince_n then_o certain_a person_n which_o false_o challenge_v to_o themselves_o to_o be_v only_o count_v and_o call_v spiritual_a i_o must_v therefore_o hear_v yet_o once_o again_o brief_o put_v you_o good_a people_n in_o remembrance_n out_o of_o god_n holy_a word_n how_o our_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n and_o his_o holy_a apostle_n the_o head_n and_o chief_a of_o all_o true_a spiritual_a and_o ecclesiastical_a man_n behave_v themselves_o towards_o the_o prince_n and_o ruler_n of_o their_o time_n though_o not_o the_o best_a governor_n that_o ever_o be_v that_o you_o be_v not_o ignorant_a whether_o they_o be_v the_o true_a disciple_n and_o follower_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n and_o so_o true_a spiritual_a man_n that_o either_o by_o ambition_n do_v so_o high_o aspire_v or_o do_v most_o malicious_o teach_v or_o most_o pernicious_o do_v execute_v rebellion_n against_o their_o lawful_a prince_n be_v the_o worst_a of_o all_o carnal_a â—_o work_n and_o mischievous_a deed_n the_o holy_a scripture_n do_v teach_v most_o express_o that_o our_o saviour_n christ_n himself_o and_o his_o apostle_n saint_n paul_n saint_n peter_n with_o other_o be_v unto_o the_o magistrate_n and_o high_a power_n which_o rule_v at_o their_o be_v upon_o the_o earth_n both_o obedient_a themselves_o and_o do_v also_o diligent_o and_o earnest_o exhort_v all_o other_o christian_n to_o the_o like_a obedience_n unto_o their_o prince_n and_o governor_n whereby_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o man_n of_o the_o clergy_n and_o ecclesiastical_a minister_n as_o their_o successor_n ought_v both_o themselves_o special_o and_o before_o other_o to_o be_v obedient_a unto_o desire_n of_o dominion_n enter_v once_o into_o ecclesiastical_a minister_n who_o greatness_n after_o the_o doctrine_n and_o example_n 27._o of_o our_o saviour_n shall_v chief_o stand_v in_o humble_v of_o themselves_o and_o that_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n be_v by_o the_o order_n of_o god_n word_n none_o other_o then_o the_o bishop_n of_o that_o one_o see_v and_o diocese_n and_o never_o yet_o well_o able_a to_o govern_v the_o same_o do_v by_o intolerable_a ambition_n challenge_v not_o only_o to_o be_v the_o head_n of_o all_o the_o church_n disperse_v throughout_o the_o world_n but_o also_o and_o example_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n who_o vicar_n and_o of_o his_o holy_a apostle_n namely_o peter_n who_o successor_n he_o pretend_v to_o be_v after_o his_o ambition_n enter_v and_o this_o challenge_v once_o make_v by_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n he_o become_v at_o once_o the_o spoiler_n &_o destroyer_n both_o of_o the_o church_n which_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n and_o of_o the_o christian_a empire_n and_o all_o christian_a kingdom_n as_o a_o universal_a tyrant_n over_o all_o and_o whereas_o before_o that_o challenge_n make_v there_o be_v great_a amity_n and_o love_n amongst_o the_o christian_n of_o all_o country_n hereupon_o begin_v emulation_n and_o much_o hatred_n between_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n and_o his_o clergy_n and_o friend_n on_o the_o one_o part_n and_o the_o grecian_a clergy_n and_o christian_n of_o the_o east_n on_o the_o other_o part_n for_o that_o they_o refuse_v to_o acknowledge_v any_o such_o supreme_a authority_n of_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n over_o they_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n for_o this_o cause_n amongst_o other_o not_o only_o name_a they_o and_o take_v they_o for_o schismatic_n but_o also_o never_o
