whereof_o i_o paul_n be_o a_o minister_n there_o follow_v now_o a_o exhortation_n to_o perseverance_n deliver_v conditional_o if_o you_o continue_v etc._n etc._n where_o first_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v whether_o we_o be_v not_o reconcile_v to_o god_n absolute_o and_o free_o without_o any_o condition_n of_o persevere_v whereunto_o i_o answer_v that_o if_o you_o look_v to_o the_o cause_n of_o our_o reconciliation_n we_o be_v reconcile_v free_o and_o absolute_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n not_o by_o any_o thing_n in_o we_o past_a present_a or_o to_o come_v and_o our_o reconciliation_n have_v always_o perseverance_n join_v with_o it_o but_o if_o you_o look_v to_o the_o proof_n and_o trial_n of_o it_o whereby_o we_o know_v who_o be_v reconcile_v and_o who_o be_v not_o then_o reconciliation_n have_v with_o it_o a_o condition_n of_o persevere_v and_o continue_v that_o be_v no_o man_n be_v reconcile_v but_o he_o continue_v so_o that_o perseverance_n be_v a_o condition_n not_o cause_v reconciliation_n but_o prove_v it_o observe_v hence_o obs_n obs_n whosoever_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o benefit_n of_o reconciliation_n by_o christ_n must_v persevere_v found_v and_o establish_v etc._n etc._n and_o whosoever_o continue_v not_o but_o be_v remove_v from_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o gospel_n have_v no_o portion_n in_o this_o reconciliation_n by_o christ_n 24.13_o mat._n 24.13_o he_o that_o continue_v to_o the_o end_n shall_v be_v save_v to_o he_o that_o overcom_v i_o will_v give_v a_o crown_n of_o life_n 1.10_o rev._n 1.10_o as_o the_o israelite_n that_o desire_v be_v certain_a all_o that_o be_v true_o reconcile_v shall_v continue_v for_o who_o he_o love_v he_o love_v to_o the_o end_n and_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o the_o elect_n shall_v be_v seduce_v 24._o matth._n 24._o this_o doctrine_n of_o the_o certainty_n of_o our_o continue_n answ_n and_o this_o exhortation_n thereunto_o have_v good_a agreement_n among_o themselves_o for_o he_o that_o have_v ordain_v we_o shall_v not_o fall_v away_o have_v also_o appoint_v the_o mean_n whereby_o we_o be_v keep_v from_o it_o whereof_o this_o exhortation_n be_v a_o principal_a our_o day_n be_v number_v shall_v we_o not_o therefore_o seek_v to_o prolong_v our_o life_n by_o food_n and_o raiment_n or_o shall_v we_o therefore_o cast_v ourselves_o into_o the_o fire_n or_o water_n because_o we_o can_v die_v before_o our_o time_n god_n have_v promise_v never_o to_o destroy_v the_o world_n again_o by_o water_n but_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v seedtime_n and_o harvest_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v we_o not_o therefore_o sow_v nor_o reap_v our_o corn_n when_o saint_n paul_n be_v in_o danger_n of_o shipwreck_n the_o lord_n promise_v by_o a_o angel_n 27.31_o act._n 27.31_o that_o not_o a_o man_n among_o they_o shall_v be_v lose_v yet_o when_o the_o mariner_n will_v have_v leave_v the_o ship_n he_o cry_v out_o except_o these_o man_n stay_v you_o can_v be_v safe_a now_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n who_o so_o observe_v these_o two_o thing_n shall_v never_o fall_v contrariwise_o who_o so_o fail_v in_o either_o of_o these_o can_v have_v little_a hope_n to_o persevere_v for_o first_o what_o likelihood_n he_o shall_v continue_v who_o have_v not_o so_o much_o as_o resolve_v with_o himself_o so_o to_o do_v and_o second_o how_o little_a worth_n such_o a_o resolution_n be_v without_o a_o careful_a use_n of_o the_o mean_n may_v appear_v by_o the_o example_n of_o s._n peter_n who_o have_v a_o strong_a resolution_n not_o to_o deny_v christ_n yet_o fall_v into_o it_o for_o want_v of_o use_v the_o mean_n in_o a_o very_a gross_a and_o shameful_a manner_n and_o this_o resolution_n and_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n be_v that_o in_o effect_n which_o the_o apostle_n teach_v and_o require_v in_o the_o two_o word_n follow_v where_o he_o show_v the_o cause_n and_o mean_n
