no_o sin_n by_o myself_o neither_o be_o i_o subject_a to_o death_n and_o hell_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n they_o strive_v and_o at_o the_o last_o overcome_v that_o therefore_o they_o will_v even_o die_v in_o that_o confidence_n but_o i_o find_v it_o far_o otherwise_o if_o i_o set_v my_o life_n before_o my_o sight_n here_o life_n and_o the_o word_n must_v be_v separate_v far_o asunder_o if_o thou_o will_v consider_v life_n i_o will_v set_v also_o before_o thou_o the_o life_n of_o s._n peter_n paul_n or_o john_n thou_o shall_v find_v even_o they_o not_o to_o have_v live_v without_o sin_n when_o thou_o desire_v to_o be_v holy_a before_o god_n god_n we_o must_v trust_v not_o to_o our_o life_n and_o work_n but_o to_o the_o mere_a mercy_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n trust_v not_o to_o thy_o life_n unless_o thou_o will_v perish_v for_o ever_o for_o thou_o must_v trust_v to_o only_a mercy_n and_o grace_n and_o not_o to_o life_n or_o work_n otherwise_o thy_o case_n will_v be_v very_o ill_a wherefore_o our_o hart_n must_v be_v so_o affect_v that_o it_o say_v lord_n if_o thou_o shall_v call_v i_o to_o a_o account_n i_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a either_o by_o life_n or_o work_n to_o transfer_v myself_o from_o myself_o and_o pierce_v into_o he_o &_o glory_n that_o in_o christ_n &_o by_o christ_n i_o be_o good_a thus_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o glory_n that_o we_o be_v godly_a and_o holy_a but_o not_o by_o our_o own_o merit_n for_o we_o must_v glory_v of_o ourselves_o as_o of_o most_o desperate_a wretch_n and_o that_o this_o may_v be_v plain_a mark_v our_o life_n consider_v our_o good_a conversation_n and_o manner_n weigh_v how_o foolish_o man_n apply_v themselves_o to_o the_o gospel_n that_o i_o be_o almost_o in_o doubt_n whether_o i_o shall_v preach_v any_o more_o or_o no._n for_o as_o soon_o as_o these_o thing_n be_v teach_v in_o a_o sermon_n that_o salvation_n consist_v not_o in_o our_o work_n or_o life_n but_o in_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n every_o one_o be_v slow_a to_o do_v good_a no_o man_n will_v live_v a_o honest_a life_n and_o be_v any_o more_o obedient_a they_o false_o affirm_v every_o where_n that_o good_a work_n be_v inhibit_v nevertheless_o god_n require_v of_o we_o that_o we_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n outward_o and_o he_o that_o do_v not_o so_o shall_v at_o length_n find_v his_o due_a punishment_n now_o if_o it_o happen_v that_o we_o live_v godly_o and_o honest_o outward_o satan_n by_o and_o by_o frame_v his_o wickedness_n neither_o do_v i_o know_v at_o this_o day_n how_o to_o order_v myself_o in_o this_o matter_n not_o because_o of_o my_o own_o person_n but_o because_o of_o life_n for_o if_o we_o preach_v of_o a_o honest_a and_o godly_a life_n the_o world_n by_o &_o by_o furious_o attempt_v without_o judgement_n life_n judgement_n they_z endeavour_n by_o their_o good_a work_n to_o attain_v to_o salvation_n we_o must_v neither_o presume_v of_o good_a work_n nor_o neglect_v to_o lead_v a_o godly_a life_n to_o build_v ladder_n to_o heaven_n which_o god_n neither_o can_v neither_o will_n by_o any_o mean_n suffer_v again_o a_o dishonest_a and_o ignominious_a life_n do_v not_o become_v christian_n neither_o do_v a_o delicate_a life_n become_v they_o what_o therefore_o must_v we_o then_o do_v they_z which_o have_v respect_n only_o to_o a_o honest_a and_o fair_a life_n it_o be_v better_o for_o they_o to_o be_v adulterer_n and_o adulteress_n and_o altogether_o to_o wallow_v in_o the_o mire_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o god_n will_v not_o have_v we_o to_o lead_v our_o life_n filthy_o and_o dishonest_o for_o neither_o can_v he_o suffer_v that_o adiudging_a thou_o even_o unto_o hell_n therefore_o if_o thou_o so_o do_v and_o if_o thou_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n thou_o will_v stick_v in_o it_o and_o arrogate_v unto_o thyself_o which_o again_o he_o can_v not_o suffer_v thou_o must_v therefore_o so_o provide_v that_o thou_o remain_v in_o the_o middle_a path_n decline_v neither_o to_o the_o right_a hand_n nor_o to_o the_o left_a and_o that_o thou_o lead_v a_o quiet_a fair_a and_o amiable_a life_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n which_o also_o may_v be_v acceptable_a before_o god_n and_o yet_o that_o thou_o do_v not_o therefore_o so_o great_o esteem_v it_o nor_o count_v so_o of_o it_o as_o though_o thou_o do_v merit_v any_o thing_n of_o god_n thereby_o thus_o a_o christian_a continue_v the_o holy_a servant_n of_o god_n without_o fear_n not_o by_o his_o good_a work_n and_o holy_a life_n but_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n work_n blasphemous_a to_o affirm_v ourselves_o holy_a by_o our_o work_n but_o he_o that_o affirm_v that_o he_o be_v holy_a by_o his_o work_n be_v blasphemous_a against_o god_n rob_v god_n of_o his_o honour_n and_o deni_v christ_n for_o who_o it_o be_v better_a that_o he_o be_v ten_o time_n a_o homicide_n or_o a_o adulterer_n then_o that_o he_o shall_v thereby_o affirm_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o christian_n yea_o godly_a and_o holy_a for_o he_o do_v plain_o dishonour_n christ_n and_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o to_o affirm_v that_o there_o be_v no_o christ_n for_o he_o be_v therefore_o call_v christ_n for_o that_o he_o be_v our_o grace_n mercy_n redemption_n and_o holiness_n if_o i_o shall_v not_o attribute_v to_o the_o divine_a mercy_n that_o god_n himself_o do_v save_v i_o what_o shall_v this_o be_v else_o but_o to_o say_v that_o he_o be_v matter_n what_o i_o be_o or_o what_o i_o ought_v to_o do_v and_o what_o not_o to_o do_v but_o what_o christ_n himself_o be_v aught_o to_o do_v and_o do_v for_o now_o we_o be_v in_o the_o bride-chamber_n where_o only_o the_o bridegroom_n and_o the_o bride_n must_v have_v to_o do_v and_o it_o behove_v not_o thou_o to_o come_v thither_o nor_o to_o intermeddle_v any_o thing_n there_o but_o nevertheless_o it_o now_o and_o then_o knock_v and_o say_v in_o the_o mean_a season_n notwithstanding_o good_a work_n must_v be_v do_v of_o thou_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n must_v be_v be_v exclude_v and_o utter_o reject_v yea_o and_o cast_v of_o as_o often_o as_o it_o will_v invade_v and_o set_v upon_o the_o conscience_n for_o sure_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o meddle_v therewith_o neither_o come_v it_o in_o time_n when_o it_o will_v have_v much_o to_o do_v there_o where_o it_o ought_v to_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v and_o whither_o it_o ought_v in_o no_o wise_a to_o come_v for_o the_o conscience_n rest_v in_o this_o article_n of_o our_o christian_a faith_n i_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n my_o lord_n which_o suffer_v die_v &_o be_v bury_v for_o i_o etc._n etc._n unto_o who_o both_o moses_n law_n &_o caesar_n &_o divine_a law_n ought_v to_o give_v place_n all_o that_o therefore_o be_v bold_o to_o be_v chase_v from_o i_o whatsoever_o will_v dispute_v with_o i_o of_o sin_n righteousness_n and_o such_o like_a thing_n behold_v christ_n will_v in_o this_o place_n resemble_v this_o liberty_n unto_o we_o that_o as_o christian_n we_o suffer_v no_o master_n in_o our_o conscience_n trust_v most_o constant_o to_o this_o one_o thing_n that_o we_o be_v baptize_v and_o call_v unto_o christ_n and_o by_o he_o justify_v and_o sanctify_v whereupon_o we_o may_v say_v he_o be_v my_o righteousness_n my_o treasure_n my_o work_n and_o in_o a_o sum_n what_o not_o against_o sin_n and_o unrighteousness_n whereof_o the_o law_n indevour_v to_o accuse_v i_o if_o it_o please_v you_o to_o have_v other_o righteousness_n work_n law_n etc._n etc._n then_o may_v you_o take_v they_o from_o whence_o you_o will_v sure_o you_o shall_v find_v no_o place_n for_o they_o in_o conscience_n &_o therefore_o let_v i_o alone_o &_o prate_v nothing_o of_o they_o for_o here_o i_o will_v vouchsafe_v to_o hear_v neither_o moses_n nor_o the_o pharisee_n but_o christ_n alone_o do_v obtain_v place_n to_o reign_v here_o i_o will_v like_v unto_o marie_n sit_v at_o his_o foot_n to_o hear_v his_o word_n but_o let_v martha_n carry_v abroad_o and_o busy_v herself_o in_o the_o kitchen_n and_o about_o the_o household_n affair_n and_o in_o a_o sum_n i_o will_v not_o trouble_v the_o quietness_n of_o my_o conscience_n but_o what_o shall_v i_o say_v objection_n a_o objection_n whereas_o in_o a_o sum_n as_o much_o as_o the_o heavenly_a kingdom_n excel_v the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n for_o here_o all_o thing_n be_v holy_a and_o special_o choose_v the_o time_n place_n person_n and_o that_o because_o of_o the_o word_n which_o sanctifi_v all_o thing_n unto_o us._n wherefore_o we_o must_v earnest_o endeavour_n that_o we_o take_v heed_n unto_o ourselves_o that_o we_o fall_v thing_n it_o be_v also_o how_o great_a worship_n of_o god_n which_o they_o do_v so_o great_o contemn_v &_o neglect_v with_o so_o great_a slothfulness_n wherefore_o they_o do_v after_o unspeakable_a mean_n provoke_v god_n to_o wrath_n have_v his_o commandment_n so_o in_o contempt_n and_o suffer_v his_o promise_n to_o be_v make_v void_a in_o they_o and_o as_o much_o as_o be_v in_o they_o impayr_v and_o hinder_v by_o their_o example_n so_o commendable_a a_o worship_n and_o service_n of_o god_n but_o admit_v it_o to_o be_v true_a which_o notwithstanding_o be_v not_o that_o thou_o do_v from_o altar_n to_o altar_n thou_o fall_v no_o tediousness_n or_o weariness_n neither_o do_v say_v as_o thou_o do_v at_o this_o day_n o_o i_o have_v hear_v no_o new_a thing_n i_o have_v hear_v these_o thing_n before_o but_o
they_o be_v void_a of_o faith_n whereby_o it_o move_v they_o to_o seek_v help_v some_o other_o where_o and_o not_o to_o presume_v of_o their_o own_o strength_n to_o satisfy_v it_o for_o it_o require_v a_o ready_a will_n and_o heart_n of_o son_n which_o alone_o can_v satisfy_v it_o it_o utter_o refuse_v servant_n and_o they_o that_o be_v unwilling_a but_o these_o of_o cain_n brood_n do_v not_o only_o of_o their_o own_o accord_n confess_v that_o they_o want_v this_o faith_n which_o make_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o also_o they_o persecute_v it_o they_o feel_v and_o know_v also_o full_o well_o how_o unwilling_o they_o bear_v the_o law_n and_o have_v rather_o to_o be_v free_a from_o it_o nevertheless_o they_o think_v that_o they_o shall_v become_v righteous_a by_o these_o their_o unwilling_a and_o constrain_a work_n they_o will_v continue_v servant_n &_o will_v not_o be_v change_v into_o son_n and_o yet_o they_o will_v enjoy_v the_o good_n of_o a_o strange_a father_n they_o do_v all_o thing_n clean_o out_o of_o order_n whereas_o by_o the_o law_n they_o ought_v to_o learn_v that_o they_o be_v servant_n and_o unwilling_a to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o therefore_o shall_v by_o faith_n aspire_v to_o the_o state_n of_o son_n notwithstanding_o they_o go_v so_o far_o that_o they_o seek_v to_o satisfy_v and_o fulfil_v it_o by_o their_o own_o work_n only_o and_o thereby_o they_o do_v altogether_o hinder_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n and_o strive_v against_o faith_n and_o grace_n whereunto_o if_o they_o be_v not_o blind_a the_o law_n will_v direct_v and_o drive_v they_o and_o so_o they_o continue_v always_o a_o blind_a blockish_a and_o miserable_a people_n these_o thing_n paul_n teach_v rom._n 3_o and_o 7._o and_o do_v free_o pronounce_v that_o no_o man_n be_v justify_v before_o god_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n law_n no_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o the_o law_n add_v no_o other_o cause_n hereof_o than_o this_o for_o that_o the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n only_o come_v by_o the_o law_n if_o thou_o will_v know_v how_o this_o come_v to_o pass_v consider_v well_o some_o one_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o thou_o shall_v by_o and_o by_o see_v it_o verify_v first_o he_o work_v his_o work_n according_a to_o the_o law_n with_o great_a grief_n and_o labour_n and_o yet_o he_o therewith_o confess_v that_o he_o be_v uncertain_a whether_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o holy_a yea_o he_o condemn_v and_o curse_v this_o faith_n as_o the_o most_o pernicious_a arrogancy_n and_o error_n of_o all_o other_o and_o will_v continue_v in_o his_o dout_n until_o he_o be_v make_v certain_a by_o his_o work_n here_o thou_o see_v plain_o that_o such_o a_o man_n be_v not_o good_a or_o righteous_a see_v that_o he_o want_v this_o faith_n and_o belief_n that_o he_o be_v count_v acceptable_a before_o god_n and_o his_o son_n yea_o he_o be_v a_o enemy_n of_o this_o faith_n and_o therefore_o of_o righteousness_n also_o wherefore_o neither_o can_v his_o work_n be_v count_v good_a although_o they_o pretend_v a_o fair_a show_n of_o fulfil_v the_o law_n and_o thus_o be_v it_o easy_a to_o understand_v that_o which_o paul_n say_v that_o no_o man_n be_v justify_v before_o god_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n for_o the_o worker_n must_v be_v justify_v before_o god_n before_o he_o work_v any_o good_a thing_n although_o before_o man_n which_o esteem_v a_o man_n by_o outward_a thing_n and_o not_o by_o the_o mind_n they_o be_v count_v righteous_a which_o apply_v themselves_o to_o the_o do_v of_o good_a work_n for_o man_n judge_v the_o worker_n by_o the_o work_n god_n judge_v the_o work_n by_o the_o worker_n now_o the_o first_o precept_n require_v that_o we_o acknowledge_v &_o worship_v one_o god_n that_o be_v that_o we_o trust_v and_o rest_n in_o he_o alone_o which_o in_o deed_n be_v the_o true_a faith_n whereby_o we_o become_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o how_o easy_a be_v it_o by_o this_o precept_n to_o know_v that_o sin_n be_v both_o in_o he_o of_o cain_n brood_n &_o in_o thyself_o inasmuch_o as_o both_o of_o you_o want_v such_o a_o faith_n even_o by_o your_o own_o nature_n which_o thou_o can_v not_o know_v but_o by_o mean_n of_o this_o law_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o paul_n mean_v when_o he_o say_v that_o by_o the_o law_n come_v the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n 3.20_o rom._n 3.20_o now_o thou_o can_v be_v deliver_v from_o this_o evil_n of_o infidelity_n neither_o by_o thy_o own_o power_n nor_o by_o the_o power_n of_o the_o law_n wherefore_o all_o thy_o work_n whereby_o thou_o go_v about_o to_o satisfy_v the_o law_n can_v be_v nothing_o but_o work_n of_o the_o law_n of_o far_o less_o importance_n then_o that_o they_o be_v able_a to_o justify_v thou_o before_o god_n who_o count_v they_o only_o righteous_a which_o true_o believe_v in_o he_o for_o they_o only_o acknowledge_v he_o the_o true_a god_n be_v his_o son_n and_o do_v true_o fulfil_v the_o law_n but_o if_o thou_o shall_v even_o kill_v thyself_o with_o work_n yet_o be_v it_o so_o far_o of_o that_o thy_o hart_n can_v obtain_v this_o faith_n thereby_o that_o thy_o work_n be_v even_o a_o hindrance_n that_o thou_o can_v not_o know_v it_o yea_o they_o be_v a_o cause_n that_o thou_o do_v persecute_v it_o hereupon_o it_o be_v that_o he_o that_o study_v to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n without_o faith_n be_v afflict_v for_o the_o devil_n sake_n and_o not_o for_o god_n sake_n and_o continue_v a_o persecutor_n both_o of_o faith_n and_o of_o the_o law_n until_o he_o come_v to_o himself_o and_o do_v plain_o cease_v to_o trust_v in_o himself_o and_o in_o his_o own_o work_n do_v give_v this_o glory_n unto_o god_n who_o justifi_v the_o ungodly_a acknowledge_v himself_o to_o be_v nothing_o and_o figh_v for_o god_n his_o grace_n whereof_o he_o do_v now_o know_v be_v teach_v by_o the_o law_n that_o he_o have_v need_n then_o faith_n and_o grace_n come_v and_o fill_v he_o be_v empty_a satisfy_v he_o be_v hungry_a by_o and_o by_o follow_v good_a work_n which_o be_v true_o good_a neither_o be_v they_o now_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n but_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n and_o grace_n and_o they_o be_v call_v in_o the_o scripture_n the_o work_n of_o god_n which_o he_o work_v in_o us._n for_o whatsoever_o we_o do_v of_o our_o own_o power_n &_o strength_n evil_a all_o that_o we_o do_v of_o ourselves_o be_v not_o assist_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n be_v evil_a and_o be_v not_o wrought_v in_o we_o by_o his_o grace_n without_o doubt_n it_o be_v a_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o avail_v nothing_o to_o justification_n but_o be_v both_o evil_a and_o hate_a of_o god_n because_o of_o the_o infidelity_n wherein_o it_o be_v do_v again_o whatsoever_o he_o of_o cain_n brood_n work_v he_o do_v nothing_o from_o his_o hart_n nothing_o free_o and_o with_o a_o willing_a mind_n except_o he_o be_v as_o it_o be_v hire_v with_o some_o reward_n or_o be_v command_v to_o do_v some_o such_o thing_n whereunto_o he_o ought_v otherwise_o to_o be_v ready_a of_o himself_o even_o as_o a_o evil_a and_o unthriftie_a servant_n suffer_v himself_o to_o be_v bring_v to_o no_o work_n unless_o he_o be_v hire_v with_o a_o reward_n or_o command_v whereunto_o he_o ought_v otherwise_o to_o be_v willing_a of_o himself_o now_o how_o unpleasaunt_a be_v it_o to_o a_o man_n to_o have_v such_o servant_n but_o they_o of_o cain_n good_a thing_n whereby_o again_o thou_o see_v that_o these_o have_v no_o mind_n to_o the_o law_n they_o gape_v only_o for_o gain_n or_o be_v move_v with_o fear_n whereby_o they_o bewray_v themselves_o that_o they_o do_v rather_o hate_v the_o law_n from_o their_o hart_n and_o have_v lever_n that_o there_o be_v no_o law_n at_o all_o wherefore_o it_o be_v plain_o manifest_a that_o they_o be_v not_o good_a and_o consequent_o that_o neither_o their_o work_n be_v good_a for_o how_o shall_v evil_a man_n work_v good_a work_n moreover_o those_o their_o work_n which_o in_o appearance_n &_o show_n seem_v to_o be_v good_a be_v either_o wrest_v from_o they_o by_o fear_n or_o be_v buy_v with_o promise_n a_o evil_a hart_n can_v do_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a but_o this_o naughtiness_n of_o the_o hart_n &_o unwillingnes_n to_o do_v good_a the_o law_n bewray_v when_o it_o teach_v that_o god_n do_v not_o great_o esteem_v what_o the_o hand_n do_v but_o what_o the_o hart_n do_v which_o see_v it_o hate_v the_o law_n that_o be_v good_a who_o will_v deny_v it_o to_o be_v most_o evil_a sure_o it_o
wherefore_o he_o have_v humble_v himself_o to_o we_o and_o take_v upon_o he_o that_o nature_n which_o be_v best_a know_v and_o most_o familiar_a unto_o we_o to_o wit_n even_o our_o own_o here_o he_o look_v for_o we_o here_o he_o will_v receive_v we_o he_o that_o will_v seek_v he_o here_o shall_v find_v he_o that_o will_v ask_v here_o shall_v be_v hear_v here_o be_v the_o throne_n of_o grace_n and_o the_o true_a mercy_n seat_n from_o which_o none_o be_v drive_v or_o thrust_v which_o with_o true_a faith_n resort_v unto_o it_o they_z which_o do_v here_o neglect_v he_o as_o though_o he_o be_v other_o be_v wont_a this_o be_v that_o one_o man_n which_o be_v bear_v only_o of_o a_o woman_n he_o will_v not_o say_v of_o a_o virgin_n virgin_n why_o paul_n rather_o say_v that_o christ_n be_v make_v of_o a_o woman_n they_o of_o a_o virgin_n for_o that_o a_o virgin_n be_v not_o a_o name_n of_o nature_n but_o a_o woman_n signify_v a_o sex_n and_o certain_a condition_n whereunto_o it_o belong_v to_o be_v with_o child_n and_o to_o bring_v forth_o that_o be_v to_o do_v the_o part_n of_o a_o mother_n see_v therefore_o that_o marie_n be_v a_o mother_n in_o deed_n she_o be_v right_o call_v a_o woman_n for_o she_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o we_o which_o belong_v to_o a_o mother_n and_o not_o to_o a_o virgin_n although_o she_o bring_v it_o forth_o alone_o without_o the_o mean_n of_o man_n wherein_o she_o be_v declare_v both_o a_o singular_a virgin_n and_o woman_n but_o because_o it_o be_v of_o great_a importance_n to_o the_o apostle_n and_o unto_o all_o we_o that_o marie_n be_v a_o woman_n and_o thereby_o the_o mother_n of_o christ_n then_o that_o she_o be_v a_o virgin_n for_o that_o this_o be_v only_o a_o ornament_n unto_o she_o but_o in_o that_o she_o be_v a_o woman_n of_o man_n a_o virgin_n be_v conceive_v with_o child_n by_o the_o only_a mean_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o be_v full_a of_o blessing_n he_o may_v derive_v the_o same_o unto_o all_o believer_n so_o be_v the_o covenant_n of_o god_n fulfil_v on_o either_o side_n and_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o christ_n become_v both_o the_o true_a seed_n of_o abraham_n and_o yet_o free_a from_o all_o contagion_n of_o adam_n and_o be_v also_o the_o author_n of_o eternal_a blessing_n to_o they_o that_o believe_v wherefore_o although_o marie_n be_v holy_o to_o be_v reverence_v by_o the_o name_n of_o virgin_n yet_o by_o no_o comparison_n great_a reverence_n be_v due_a unto_o she_o then_o by_o the_o name_n of_o woman_n for_o that_o her_o most_o holy_a member_n inasmuch_o as_o she_o be_v a_o woman_n be_v advance_v unto_o this_o dignity_n that_o they_o be_v as_o mean_n towards_o the_o fulfil_n of_o the_o holy_a covenant_n of_o god_n and_o by_o they_o he_o be_v bring_v forth_o which_o be_v to_o put_v away_o all_o curse_n from_o they_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o that_o so_o he_o may_v be_v both_o the_o bless_a seed_n of_o abraham_n and_o the_o bless_a fruit_n of_o the_o womb_n of_o marie_n unto_o which_o benefit_n the_o only_a virginity_n have_v not_o be_v sufficient_a yea_o it_o have_v be_v even_o unprofitable_a the_o four_o thing_n whereof_o the_o present_a place_n of_o the_o the_o law_n do_v condemn_v the_o work_n which_o proceed_v not_o from_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v godly_a and_o consent_v unto_o the_o law_n he_o be_v accuse_v of_o the_o pharisee_n that_o he_o be_v true_a wisdom_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n prudence_n true_a wisdom_n what_o it_o be_v prudence_n to_o wit_n when_o as_o i_o know_v what_o we_o must_v think_v of_o god_n and_o do_v understand_v his_o will_n but_o prudence_n signify_v ability_n and_o knowledge_n to_o judge_v of_o worldly_a thing_n what_o be_v right_a or_o wrong_n which_o paul_n often_o join_v together_o especial_o in_o his_o epistle_n to_o the_o ephesian_n chap._n 1._o and_o in_o his_o epistle_n to_o the_o colossian_n chap._n 1._o of_o such_o wisdom_n christ_n speak_v not_o here_o but_o of_o worldly_a wisdom_n which_o puff_v up_o man_n and_o exclude_v the_o true_a wisdom_n of_o god_n we_o be_v all_o of_o this_o disposition_n by_o nature_n eftsoon_o to_o rise_v against_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n wisdom_n humane_a or_o worldly_a wisdom_n that_o be_v call_v good_a by_o the_o instinct_n of_o humane_a wisdom_n which_o bring_v pleasure_n honour_n and_o profit_n but_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v contrary_a to_o these_o as_o affliction_n dishonour_n loss_n those_o be_v call_v evil_a for_o man_n nature_n can_v seek_v nothing_o else_o at_o all_o but_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v his_o own_o that_o which_o please_v and_o profit_v he_o that_o he_o do_v especial_o like_a but_o that_o which_o displease_v he_o he_o count_v the_o worst_a of_o all_o thing_n although_o it_o be_v worldly_a wisdom_n seem_v to_o itself_o to_o be_v so_o great_a that_o be_v it_o not_o content_a to_o rule_v only_o these_o worldly_a and_o temporal_a thing_n but_o take_v also_o upon_o itself_o to_o have_v the_o oversight_n of_o heavenly_a thing_n it_o always_o serch_v out_o and_o imagine_v some_o new_a thing_n even_o in_o spiritual_a and_o divine_a matter_n so_o man_v own_o wisdom_n have_v invent_v shave_a crown_n and_o cowl_n &_o almost_o all_o that_o wherein_o the_o papacy_n consist_v every_o one_o have_v choose_v his_o proper_a work_n to_o himself_o this_o man_n have_v invent_v this_o a_o other_o have_v invent_v that_o and_o if_o this_o be_v abolish_v and_o do_v not_o great_o please_v byandby_o they_o find_v out_o some_o other_o thing_n as_o alas_o we_o have_v see_v and_o do_v as_o yet_o see_v neither_o be_v there_o any_o measure_n in_o these_o trifle_n whereupon_o it_o come_v that_o we_o can_v hardly_o away_o with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o truth_n but_o notwithstanding_o we_o must_v not_o so_o despeire_n that_o we_o shall_v say_v that_o we_o be_v not_o in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n but_o the_o more_z we_o feel_v our_o disease_n christ_n the_o more_o we_o feel_v ourselves_o disease_v the_o great_a cause_n we_o have_v to_o fly_v unto_o christ_n so_o much_o the_o more_o we_o must_v come_v unto_o he_o for_o he_o therefore_o be_v at_o hand_n that_o he_o may_v remedy_v and_o
heal_v us._n now_o if_o thou_o be_v weak_a and_o oppress_v with_o faintness_n feel_v great_a affliction_n hereby_o thou_o have_v get_v a_o great_a occasion_n to_o go_v unto_o he_o &_o to_o say_v on_o be_v as_o when_o one_o leg_n be_v break_v or_o a_o wound_n some_o where_o else_o give_v he_o that_o be_v when_o as_o a_o christian_a be_v not_o only_o weak_a and_o disease_a that_o he_o stumble_v sometime_o but_o also_o run_v into_o so_o great_a tentation_n that_o he_o break_v some_o part_n of_o they_z which_o fall_v so_o grievous_o that_o they_o even_o deny_v the_o gospel_n must_v not_o be_v utter_o despeir_v of_o and_o so_o be_v bring_v to_o that_o pass_n that_o he_o fall_v and_o deni_v the_o gospel_n after_o the_o manner_n of_o peter_n who_o do_v forswear_v christ_n now_o if_o any_o shall_v so_o stumble_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v compel_v to_o go_v back_o &_o be_v utter_o cast_v down_o in_o mind_n nevertheless_o we_o must_v not_o as_o yet_o cast_v he_o of_o as_o though_o he_o do_v never_o any_o more_o pertain_v to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n for_o we_o must_v leave_v christ_n property_n to_o himself_o that_o his_o kingdom_n may_v remain_v unto_o himself_o mere_a grace_n and_o mercy_n who_o desire_n be_v to_o help_v they_o only_o which_o be_v grieve_v with_o their_o calamity_n and_o misery_n and_o do_v great_o desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o it_o that_o his_o kingdom_n may_v altogether_o abound_v with_o comfort_n and_o he_o himself_o be_v the_o comfortable_a and_o gentle_a shepeheard_n which_o provoke_v and_o allure_v every_o one_o to_o come_v unto_o he_o and_o all_o this_o be_v do_v by_o the_o gospel_n whereby_o the_o weak_a be_v to_o be_v strengthen_v the_o sick_a to_o be_v heal_v for_o it_o be_v such_o a_o word_n as_o be_v fit_a for_o all_o regard_v only_o to_o the_o strong_a and_o whole_a it_o be_v great_a therefore_o and_o very_o effectual_a knowledge_n whereby_o christ_n be_v well_o know_v it_o be_v graff_v in_o we_o by_o nature_n to_o be_v altogether_o evil_a and_o wicked_a &_o yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o will_v have_v every_o one_o to_o be_v honest_a we_o earnest_o regard_v strong_a christian_n not_o look_v therewithal_o to_o the_o sick_a and_o weak_a think_v they_o not_o to_o be_v christian_n if_o they_o be_v not_o strong_a and_o judge_v other_o evil_a if_o they_o be_v not_o altogether_o holy_a when_o as_o we_o ourselves_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n exceed_v the_o rest_n in_o naughtiness_n now_o the_o cause_n hereof_o be_v our_o most_o corrupt_a nature_n amiss_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n and_o blind_a reason_n cause_v we_o to_o err_v &_o judge_v amiss_o &_o our_o blind_a reason_n which_o will_v measure_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n according_a to_o her_o own_o opinion_n whereby_o it_o think_v that_o
