be_v not_o understand_v of_o a_o catholic_a episcopal_a tribunal_n but_o of_o a_o legative_a and_o that_o therefore_o the_o chaleng_v of_o this_o tribunal_n be_v no_o innovation_n but_o a_o restitution_n of_o ancient_a episcopal_a jurisdiction_n etc._n etc._n to_o all_o which_o i_o answer_v that_o first_o this_o divine_a take_v it_o for_o grant_v that_o my_o lord_n bishop_n be_v our_o pastor_n certain_a and_o absolute_a but_o of_o that_o i_o say_v nothing_o till_o anon_o &_o so_o i_o let_v he_o use_v his_o own_o language_n in_o that_o but_o i_o must_v tell_v he_o here_o he_o take_v to_o much_o liberty_n to_o call_v the_o humble_a advice_n of_o lay_v catholic_n or_o declaration_n of_o their_o own_o ease_n teach_v which_o be_v nothing_o but_o to_o make_v they_o odious_a as_o if_o which_o as_o thing_n stand_v will_v rather_o hinder_v then_o help_v now_o for_o our_o ancient_a law_n which_o our_o divine_a say_v be_v not_o against_o a_o catholic_a episcopal_a tribunal_n not_o according_a to_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o lawmaker_n howsoever_o it_o may_v be_v against_o the_o sound_n of_o the_o word_n i_o say_v first_o that_o as_o time_n stand_v it_o be_v enough_o to_o be_v against_o the_o letter_n of_o the_o law_n &_o our_o protestant_a judge_n and_o man_n in_o authority_n who_o think_v themselves_o fit_a to_o be_v interpreter_n of_o the_o law_n will_v have_v great_a advantage_n against_o we_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a by_o the_o very_a word_n of_o the_o ancient_a law_n to_o bring_v we_o with_o in_o compass_n of_o treason_n or_o praemunire_n and_o if_o now_o by_o word_n &_o write_v they_o publish_v to_o the_o world_n that_o we_o die_v not_o for_o religion_n but_o for_o treason_n although_o we_o suffer_v but_o by_o the_o law_n make_v in_o this_o time_n of_o protestancy_n how_o much_o more_o colourable_o will_v they_o think_v to_o do_v it_o when_o we_o shall_v suffer_v by_o the_o ancient_a law_n make_v and_o practise_v in_o catholic_a time_n and_o not_o disallow_v or_o contradict_v by_o the_o sea_n apostolic_a and_o it_o may_v be_v this_o very_a thing_n if_o it_o have_v be_v so_o know_v to_o his_o holiness_n as_o the_o catholics_n letter_n say_v well_o for_o it_o be_v no_o disparagement_n for_o any_o man_n to_o say_v that_o he_o do_v not_o know_v all_o particular_a law_n and_o ordinance_n of_o all_o country_n it_o be_v most_o probable_a legative_a by_o reason_n of_o the_o disturbance_n which_o it_o do_v many_o time_n cause_n in_o the_o usual_a court_n of_o justice_n of_o this_o kingdom_n why_o then_o may_v not_o a_o man_n say_v they_o mean_v of_o such_o power_n as_o my_o lord_n bishop_n will_v have_v here_o consider_v the_o present_a state_n of_o thing_n for_o here_o be_v now_o usual_a ecclesiastical_a court_n of_o more_o for_o the_o legative_a court_n be_v a_o superior_a court_n and_o therefore_o do_v not_o meddle_v in_o ordinary_a and_o daily_a matter_n but_o in_o some_o particular_a case_n and_o event_n whereas_o my_o lord_n bishop_n court_n if_o he_o be_v ordinary_a will_v answer_v ex_fw-la aequo_fw-la as_o i_o may_v say_v and_o direct_o to_o the_o ordinary_a spiritual_a court_n here_o and_o may_v challenge_v the_o hear_n and_o determine_v of_o all_o cause_n as_o due_a to_o itself_o exclude_v the_o other_o as_o usurper_n in_o which_o respect_n i_o think_v that_o as_o this_o divine_a say_v the_o lawmaker_n never_o intend_v to_o hinder_v the_o restitution_n of_o catholic_a episcopal_a jurisdiction_n so_o i_o be_o of_o opinion_n with_o he_o thus_o far_o though_o they_o will_v not_o hinder_v it_o when_o time_n shall_v be_v for_o it_o so_o yet_o that_o in_o such_o time_n and_o circumstance_n as_o now_o we_o be_v in_o and_o so_o long_o as_o it_o be_v not_o in_o their_o power_n to_o hinder_v but_o that_o protestant_n shall_v b●are_v the_o sway_n as_o they_o do_v they_o will_v never_o have_v like_v the_o restitution_n of_o it_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o his_o lordship_n desire_v to_o exercise_n of_o a_o legative_a tribunal_n i_o say_v this_o law_n precise_o and_o direct_o touch_v his_o lordship_n court_n which_o he_o will_v erect_v for_o though_o be_v not_o a_o legate_n à_fw-fr latere_fw-la yet_o he_o be_v a_o delegate_n of_o the_o sea_n apostolic_a and_o his_o power_n be_v of_o the_o same_o kind_n with_o legative_a though_o inferior_a unto_o it_o and_o this_o be_v
