hand_n be_v ready_a to_o fly_v simile_n from_o we_o so_o backward_o be_v our_o nature_n to_o come_v into_o his_o presence_n again_o the_o variety_n of_o occasion_n hinder_v we_o every_o 3_o thing_n keep_v we_o back_o if_o a_o man_n heart_n be_v cheerful_a it_o be_v apt_a to_o delight_v in_o other_o thing_n if_o a_o man_n heart_n be_v sad_a on_o the_o other_o side_n if_o it_o be_v a_o slight_a sadness_n man_n be_v ready_a to_o drive_v it_o away_o with_o company_n and_o with_o sport_n and_o with_o do_v other_o thing_n and_o if_o the_o sadness_n be_v great_a we_o be_v swallow_v up_o with_o anguish_n of_o spirit_n and_o then_o any_o thing_n be_v easy_a than_o to_o pray_v as_o you_o may_v see_v by_o judas_n it_o be_v easy_a for_o he_o to_o dispatch_v himself_o then_o to_o go_v and_o call_v upon_o god_n so_o it_o be_v with_o man_n when_o they_o have_v excessive_a grief_n when_o their_o a_o guish_n of_o heart_n be_v exceed_o great_a so_o that_o whether_o a_o man_n have_v a_o cheerful_a disposition_n or_o a_o sad_a whether_o the_o sadness_n be_v great_a or_o small_a still_o you_o shall_v find_v a_o difficulty_n if_o we_o be_v idle_a &_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v our_o heart_n will_v be_v possess_v with_o vain_a thought_n and_o if_o we_o be_v full_a of_o business_n that_o distract_v we_o also_o and_o indispose_v we_o on_o the_o other_o side_n so_o still_o there_o be_v impediment_n but_o there_o be_v one_o great_a impediment_n among_o the_o rest_n and_o most_o common_a which_o be_v worldly_a care_n 4_o and_o worldly-mindednes_a worldly_a care_n hinder_v spiritual_a prayer_n and_o spiritual_a conference_n and_o the_o holy_a performance_n almost_o of_o every_o duty_n and_o therefore_o if_o you_o find_v a_o difficulty_n in_o it_o look_v narrow_o if_o that_o be_v not_o the_o cause_n again_o another_o great_a cause_n of_o this_o difficulty_n in_o prayer_n of_o such_o backwardness_n to_o it_o of_o such_o indisposition_n 5_o to_o it_o be_v because_o we_o do_v not_o well_o consider_v the_o nature_n of_o god_n we_o want_v faith_n in_o his_o power_n and_o in_o his_o providence_n we_o do_v not_o consider_v that_o he_o have_v that_o dispose_n hand_n which_o he_o have_v in_o every_o thing_n that_o belong_v to_o we_o in_o health_n in_o sickness_n in_o poverty_n in_o riches_n in_o good_a success_n and_o ill_a success_n for_o if_o we_o do_v see_v the_o providence_n of_o god_n and_o acknowledge_v it_o more_o we_o shall_v be_v ready_a to_o call_v upon_o he_o but_o this_o want_n of_o faith_n in_o his_o providence_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o see_v in_o his_o greatness_n and_o in_o his_o mighty_a power_n this_o cause_v man_n to_o be_v backward_o to_o seek_v he_o but_o very_o forward_o to_o seek_v to_o the_o creature_n when_o we_o have_v any_o thing_n to_o do_v of_o any_o consequence_n we_o be_v ready_a to_o post_v from_o this_o man_n to_o that_o man_n and_o from_o this_o mean_n to_o that_o mean_n but_o very_o backward_o and_o negligent_a to_o go_v to_o god_n in_o prayer_n to_o have_v the_o thing_n bring_v to_o pass_v that_o we_o desire_v and_o this_o arise_v from_o want_n of_o faith_n and_o from_o ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o our_o not_o consideration_n of_o he_o beside_o satan_n hinder_v we_o exceed_o in_o this_o 6_o duty_n for_o he_o know_v of_o what_o moment_n it_o be_v and_o of_o what_o consequence_n and_o therefore_o he_o do_v as_o the_o aramite_n do_v he_o fight_v not_o against_o small_a nor_o great_a but_o against_o the_o king_n he_o know_v it_o be_v this_o duty_n 31._o which_o quicken_v every_o grace_n it_o be_v the_o great_a enemy_n which_o he_o have_v and_o if_o he_o can_v keep_v we_o from_o prayer_n he_o have_v the_o upper_a hand_n of_o we_o he_o have_v wrest_v the_o weapon_n out_o of_o our_o hand_n he_o have_v disarm_v we_o as_o it_o be_v and_o then_o he_o may_v do_v what_o he_o will_v with_o us._n likewise_o the_o sin_n we_o commit_v especial_o gross_a sin_n they_o be_v a_o great_a hindrance_n to_o this_o duty_n 7_o and_o keep_v from_o the_o spiritual_a and_o cheerful_a performance_n of_o it_o for_o sin_n wound_v the_o conscience_n it_o disjoint_v and_o dismember_v the_o soul_n and_o a_o disjoint_a member_n you_o know_v be_v unfit_a to_o do_v any_o business_n yea_o when_o the_o sin_n be_v heal_v and_o forgive_v yet_o there_o be_v a_o soreness_n leave_v in_o the_o heart_n though_o some_o assurance_n of_o pardon_n shall_v follow_v upon_o the_o commission_n of_o a_o great_a sin_n so_o that_o that_o be_v another_o impediment_n i_o must_v not_o stand_v to_o reckon_v up_o
