bond_n man_n unto_o his_o master_n and_o be_o so_o blind_a &_o drown_v in_o vice_n and_o filthiness_n that_o i_o can_v tell_v what_o i_o ought_v to_o do_v for_o i_o do_v not_o that_o thing_n which_o knowledge_n and_o reason_n declare_v unto_o i_o to_o be_v honest_a though_o i_o myself_o do_v covet_v the_o same_o but_o i_o rather_o commit_v that_o thing_n which_o be_v unresonable_a &_o dishonest_a the_o which_o though_o i_o hate_v &_o detest_v it_o yet_o i_o do_v commit_v the_o same_o body_n because_o the_o vice_n and_o power_n of_o concupiscence_n that_o be_v in_o i_o violent_o compel_v and_o draw_v i_o thereunto_o by_o which_o reason_n the_o offender_n themselves_o will_v in_o no_o case_n that_o any_o fault_n shall_v be_v impute_v unto_o the_o law_n but_o to_o our_o own_o fragility_n weakness_n and_o great_a imperfection_n for_o in_o as_o much_o as_o we_o in_o our_o weakness_n be_v so_o compel_v to_o do_v that_o thing_n through_o concupiscence_n which_o knowledge_n and_o reason_n count_v holy_a precious_a and_o good_a which_o although_o i_o commit_v such_o evil_n in_o obey_v the_o motion_n of_o my_o frail_a and_o corrupt_a flesh_n the_o outward_a part_n and_o most_o gross_a which_o of_o itself_o be_v most_o pure_a and_o clean_a and_o best_a incline_v therefore_o as_o often_o as_o my_o inward_a man_n consent_v to_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v stir_v and_o so_o the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n over_o i_o and_o perpetual_a condemnation_n to_o my_o soul_n the_o good_a nature_n of_o reason_n and_o honesty_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n draw_v i_o to_o the_o estimation_n of_o love_n and_o virtue_n whereunto_o i_o be_o true_o teach_v by_o the_o law_n but_o i_o find_v also_o a_o other_o law_n in_o the_o member_n of_o the_o most_o high_a and_o chief_a felicity_n the_o three_o chapter_n ¶_o paul_n show_v what_o preferment_n the_o jew_n have_v and_o that_o both_o the_o jew_n and_o gentile_n be_v under_o sin_n and_o that_o offend_v make_v his_o cause_n worse_o yes_o very_o the_o jew_n have_v great_a pre-eminence_n first_o he_o may_v rejoice_v in_o that_o he_o be_v by_o nature_n call_v a_o jew_n to_o who_o proper_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v commit_v timo._n or_o else_o because_o that_o only_a the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n be_v catch_v to_o that_o nation_n either_o for_o this_o cause_n that_o god_n vouchsafe_v to_o be_v their_o instructor_n and_o teacher_n himself_o sure_o it_o be_v a_o honourable_a thing_n to_o be_v of_o that_o nation_n which_o god_n so_o high_o esteem_v and_o further_o the_o jew_n have_v pre-eminence_n because_o the_o same_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o say_a instructor_n goodness_n may_v be_v the_o ready_a to_o the_o true_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n for_o as_o he_o be_v more_o near_o
flesh_n why_o or_o from_o this_o body_n of_o death_n which_o be_v thus_o subject_v to_o so_o many_o misery_n to_o so_o many_o provocation_n enticement_n to_o naughtiness_n encumber_v with_o so_o many_o vice_n and_o well_o nigh_o confound_v with_o these_o daily_a conflict_n that_o always_o hail_v i_o pull_v i_o down_o and_o draw_v i_o forcible_o to_o destruction_n and_o death_n think_v not_o you_o that_o he_o have_v just_a cause_n thus_o to_o bewail_v his_o state_n and_o to_o cry_v out_o that_o in_o this_o manner_n be_v daily_o besiege_v assault_v and_o trouble_v with_o so_o many_o mischief_n cruel_a and_o deadly_a adversary_n but_o the_o remedy_n hereof_o consider_v and_o the_o most_o happy_a mean_n remember_v for_o our_o deliverance_n rejoice_v oh_o what_o cause_n of_o great_a thankfulness_n by_o bind_a duty_n and_o all_o humbleness_n have_v we_o to_o give_v unto_o our_o god_n which_o merciful_o have_v set_v we_o in_o most_o happy_a state_n and_o safety_n and_o deliver_v we_o from_o these_o noisome_a misery_n even_o for_o the_o only_a love_n sake_n he_o bear_v unto_o we_o not_o through_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n or_o circumcision_n but_o by_o his_o only_a and_o most_o by_o this_o change_n have_v now_o cess_v to_o live_v again_o after_o the_o illectation_n or_o wanton_a entice_a of_o the_o sensual_a lust_n of_o their_o flesh_n in_o asmuch_o as_o the_o law_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v heavenly_a spiritual_a and_o the_o author_n of_o life_n be_v also_o strong_a and_o full_a of_o might_n have_v free_o deliver_v they_o all_o from_o the_o bondage_n and_o law_n of_o sin_n 4._o from_o death_n the_o familiar_a companion_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o just_a reward_n of_o the_o same_o which_o thing_n because_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v carnal_a and_o in_o consideration_n thereof_o very_o weak_a of_o itself_o 7._o god_n do_v foresee_v and_o provide_v for_o the_o salvation_n of_o man_n after_o a_o other_o sort_n and_o fashion_n and_o like_v as_o i_o not_o perpetual_a even_o so_o it_o be_v not_o of_o virtue_n to_o give_v any_o salvation_n to_o man_n the_o second_o law_n be_v spiritual_a strange_a full_a of_o efficacy_n and_o immortal_a which_o christ_n himself_o have_v consummate_v and_o fulfil_v to_o all_o such_o as_o believe_v in_o he_o howbeit_o it_o be_v very_o expedient_a that_o one_o flesh_n shall_v abolish_v and_o put_v away_o a_o flesh_n which_o he_o take_v amongst_o we_o bring_v death_n to_o subjection_n and_o bondage_n which_o before_o bare_a rule_n over_o we_o through_o the_o law_n and_o the_o corrupt_a affection_n of_o our_o body_n which_o also_o bring_v all_o thing_n to_o such_o a_o pass_n that_o consider_v the_o put_v away_o of_o the_o gross_a and_o fleshe_o part_n of_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n we_o shall_v thencefoorthe_o embrace_v the_o second_o part_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a and_o that_o minister_v not_o ire_n and_o threaten_n as_o do_v the_o old_a part_n of_o the_o law_n but_o very_o righteousness_n to_o all_o such_o as_o do_v not_o lead_v their_o life_n after_o the_o letter_n and_o ceremony_n of_o the_o jew_n but_o after_o the_o spirit_n and_o inward_a mind_n of_o the_o law_n as_o man_n regenerate_v and_o new_a bear_v again_o in_o jesus_n christ_n the_o jew_n in_o their_o ceremony_n have_v as_o it_o be_v but_o the_o dead_a picture_n and_o image_n of_o have_v wrought_v in_o we_o wherefore_o the_o true_a change_n of_o our_o state_n condition_n and_o fashion_n of_o religion_n declare_v the_o manner_n of_o a_o new_a life_n in_o we_o and_o we_o perceive_v very_o evident_o that_o all_o such_o of_o the_o jew_n which_o still_o continue_v in_o the_o rottenness_n of_o their_o old_a form_n of_o religion_n 55._o and_o in_o the_o flesh_n or_o to_o all_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v spiritual_a for_o true_o even_o such_o as_o the_o state_n condition_n and_o nature_n of_o the_o man_n be_v such_o be_v his_o desire_n and_o common_a inclination_n to_o work_v as_o touch_v our_o flesh_n we_o be_v all_o mortal_a but_o christ_n that_o be_v immortal_a have_v now_o call_v we_o to_o a_o life_n in_o he_o which_o be_v immortal_a again_o the_o carnal_a law_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v always_o against_o christ_n and_o call_v we_o from_o he_o which_o for_o the_o same_o cause_n bring_v death_n with_o it_o in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o contend_v and_o strive_v against_o he_o which_o be_v the_o only_a author_n of_o life_n by_o reason_n whereof_o the_o jew_n be_v strike_v with_o the_o zeal_n and_o love_n of_o the_o same_o law_n do_v put_v to_o death_n the_o author_n of_o their_o life_n and_o justification_n but_o contrariwise_o they_o that_o set_v the_o grossness_n of_o the_o law_n at_o naught_o and_o follow_v the_o spirit_n do_v find_v most_o plenteous_a life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n neither_o do_v they_o argue_v upon_o the_o barren_a and_o hungry_a observance_n of_o the_o law_n but_o have_v in_o their_o heart_n the_o pleasant_a savour_n and_o taste_v of_o charity_n god._n be_v well_o stay_v in_o themselves_o live_v joyful_o
they_o expect_v by_o the_o law_n and_o that_o for_o their_o unbeléefe_n sake_n god._n but_o they_o only_o attain_v to_o their_o salvation_n which_o look_v not_o for_o it_o by_o circumcision_n or_o keep_v of_o the_o law_n but_o only_o of_o free_a mercy_n and_o for_o the_o election_n sake_n of_o god_n for_o all_o other_o way_n profit_v not_o neither_o circumcision_n nor_o keep_v of_o the_o law_n except_o they_o yield_v themselves_o unto_o the_o faith_n of_o chryst_n but_o they_o in_o the_o stubbornness_n of_o their_o heart_n be_v all_o blind_v after_o such_o a_o sort_n with_o their_o own_o pride_n and_o malice_n that_o though_o they_o have_v daily_o show_v amongst_o they_o number_n of_o miracle_n by_o christ_n yet_o they_o believe_v not_o in_o he_o who_o they_o look_v for_o by_o the_o do_v in_o such_o sort_n profit_v you_o that_o it_o be_v nothing_o at_o all_o prejudicial_a or_o hurtful_a but_o rather_o occasion_v that_o faith_n in_o many_o other_o be_v much_o more_o quick_a and_o lively_a forasmuch_o as_o in_o the_o steed_n of_o a_o few_o that_o fall_v the_o gospel_n of_o chryst_n be_v the_o more_o large_o spread_v amongst_o all_o man_n and_o the_o loss_n of_o one_o nation_n be_v the_o cause_n that_o so_o many_o nation_n be_v win_v and_o bring_v in_o to_o chryst_n how_o much_o more_o than_o shall_v the_o world_n be_v enrich_v with_o the_o christian_a flock_n if_o by_o the_o virtuous_a example_n of_o your_o godly_a religion_n and_o faith_n in_o jesus_n chryst_n that_o same_o nation_n again_o shall_v be_v win_v and_o so_o join_v to_o all_o the_o other_o in_o the_o same_o most_o holy_a profession_n oh_o you_o gentile_n it_o be_v even_o to_o you_o that_o i_o now_o speak_v which_o i_o take_v as_o my_o own_o 1._o because_o by_o appointment_n i_o be_o your_o most_o
