hugeness_n that_o he_o be_v grow_v to_o he_o the_o king_n of_o the_o child_n of_o pride_n and_o this_o infirmity_n endanger_v the_o most_o humble_a st_n paul_n who_o glory_v in_o distress_n so_o that_o he_o have_v need_n of_o buffet_v in_o the_o one_o the_o horn_n of_o the_o lamb_n defend_v and_o maintain_v the_o mouth_n of_o the_o dragon_n and_o in_o the_o other_o the_o transcendence_n and_o abundance_n of_o revelation_n which_o be_v above_o the_o utterance_n of_o man_n may_v have_v lift_v up_o his_o conceit_n to_o have_v think_v himself_o to_o be_v more_o than_o a_o man_n and_o as_o i_o can_v hardly_o think_v any_o proud_a than_o the_o king_n of_o pride_n so_o i_o can_v scarce_o think_v any_o humble_a than_o st_n paul_n and_o therefore_o i_o think_v all_o man_n have_v a_o degree_n of_o this_o corruption_n and_o that_o more_o or_o less_o as_o they_o approach_v iâ—_n likeness_n to_o the_o pride_n of_o the_o man_n of_o sin_n or_o as_o they_o come_v near_o to_o the_o humility_n of_o bless_a st_n paul_n and_o let_v not_o man_n altogether_o look_v upward_o or_o outward_a to_o find_v this_o sin_n either_o above_o or_o without_o they_o but_o let_v they_o look_v into_o themselves_o and_o they_o may_v find_v as_o much_o geometrical_a pride_n in_o themselves_o as_o they_o do_v arithmetical_a pride_n in_o other_o as_o much_o pride_n proportionable_o to_o their_o low_a place_n and_o grace_n as_o other_o have_v to_o their_o high_a gift_n and_o dignity_n yea_o it_o be_v not_o true_a only_o in_o the_o time_n of_o diogenes_n but_o it_o be_v true_a now_o also_o that_o offensive_a because_o more_o conspicuous_a and_o there_o a_o example_n of_o pride_n do_v most_o harm_n where_o a_o pattern_n of_o humility_n will_v have_v do_v most_o good_a but_o now_o let_v we_o and_o what_o inheritance_n in_o the_o son_n of_o ishai_n neither_o let_v any_o think_v that_o the_o height_n of_o the_o flesh_n can_v be_v any_o grace_n or_o preseruative_n to_o the_o eminence_n and_o spiritual_a vigour_n and_o authority_n which_o agree_v both_o with_o humility_n and_o eminence_n and_o this_o keep_v man_n in_o a_o true_a state_n of_o mind_n free_a from_o that_o pride_n which_o make_v a_o man_n the_o enemy_n of_o god_n and_o free_a from_o that_o baseness_n which_o make_v a_o man_n the_o scorn_n of_o man_n for_o we_o may_v not_o think_v of_o a_o humility_n which_o be_v opposite_a to_o the_o dignity_n of_o the_o spirit_n you_o true_a nobility_n of_o the_o soul_n nor_o to_o dispensative_a vigour_n for_o virtue_n be_v not_o contrary_a but_o on_o that_o which_o be_v outward_a dignity_n as_o god_n say_v to_o the_o prophet_n let_v they_o return_v to_o thou_o but_o return_v not_o thou_o to_o they_o he_o will_v have_v outward_a thing_n by_o a_o spiritual_a use_n to_o become_v spiritual_a but_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v himself_o who_o be_v spiritual_a by_o carnal_a thing_n to_o be_v make_v carnal_a if_o religion_n beget_v wealth_n he_o will_v not_o suffer_v the_o daughter_n to_o eat_v up_o the_o mother_n but_o the_o mother_n command_v the_o daughter_n &_o keep_v she_o in_o obedience_n to_o that_o which_o bear_v she_o otherwise_o it_o be_v a_o most_o notable_a sacrilege_n to_o take_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n from_o the_o spirit_n and_o to_o give_v they_o to_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o very_a profaneness_n of_o belshazzar_n to_o drink_v carnal_a
