have_v deserve_v to_o we_o 4._o the_o mean_n by_o which_o christ_n be_v thus_o apply_v unto_o we_o and_o make_v we_o as_o in_o this_o sacrament_n external_o by_o the_o sign_n of_o eat_v of_o bread_n and_o drink_v of_o wine_n and_o internal_o by_o the_o operation_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o our_o faith_n stir_v up_o by_o he_o to_o rely_v upon_o christ_n for_o life_n and_o nourishment_n and_o growth_n unto_o life_n eternal_a and_o all_o the_o blessing_n aforesaid_a doct._n 3._o the_o second_o duty_n require_v unto_o a_o right_n communicate_v or_o partake_v of_o this_o sacrament_n be_v that_o we_o serious_o examine_v or_o try_v ourselves_o the_o object_n of_o the_o former_a duty_n be_v the_o supper_n itself_o institute_v of_o god_n the_o object_n of_o this_o be_v ourselves_o wherein_o by_o a_o reflex_n act_n we_o behold_v and_o consider_v ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v understand_v how_o our_o disposition_n and_o condition_n agree_v or_o disagree_v with_o the_o nature_n and_o use_n of_o this_o institution_n and_o this_o inquiry_n shall_v be_v make_v with_o great_a care_n and_o diligence_n as_o the_o word_n use_v for_o it_o do_v sufficient_o express_v wherein_o be_v proper_o express_v the_o goldsmith_n pain_n in_o diligent_o try_v of_o silver_n and_o gold_n that_o he_o may_v know_v true_a coin_n from_o false_a reas._o 1_o because_o it_o will_v be_v in_o vain_a to_o discern_v the_o lord_n body_n unless_o we_o discern_v aright_o also_o how_o ourselves_o agree_v with_o or_o disagree_v from_o the_o lord_n body_n and_o whether_o we_o have_v such_o requisite_n as_o necessary_o we_o must_v for_o the_o save_a participation_n of_o his_o body_n for_o in_o the_o sacrament_n there_o be_v a_o mutual_a relation_n between_o the_o gift_n offer_v and_o our_o receive_n of_o it_o nor_o do_v it_o bestead_v we_o at_o all_o to_o know_v of_o what_o sort_n and_o how_o precious_a the_o gift_n be_v unless_o we_o know_v also_o that_o ourselves_o be_v such_o as_o to_o who_o this_o gift_n do_v belong_v reas._n 2._o because_o great_a be_v the_o deceit_n of_o man_n heart_n whereby_o man_n
