may_v call_v it_o motivity_n it_o be_v much_o clear_a in_o spirit_n than_o body_n since_o two_o body_n place_v by_o one_o another_o at_o rest_n will_v never_o afford_v we_o the_o idea_n of_o a_o power_n in_o the_o one_o to_o move_v the_o other_o but_o by_o a_o borrow_a motion_n whereas_o the_o mind_n every_o day_n afford_v we_o idea_n of_o a_o active_a power_n of_o move_v of_o body_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v worth_a our_o consideration_n whether_o active_a power_n be_v not_o the_o proper_a attribute_n of_o spirit_n and_o passive_a power_n of_o matter_n but_o be_v that_o as_o it_o will_v i_o think_v we_o have_v as_o many_o and_o as_o clear_a idea_n belong_v to_o spirit_n as_o we_o have_v belong_v to_o body_n the_o substance_n of_o each_o be_v equal_o unknown_a to_o we_o and_o §_o 2._o thus_o the_o idea_n of_o heat_n and_o cold_a light_a and_o darkness_n white_a and_o black_a motion_n and_o rest_n be_v equal_o clear_a and_o positive_a idea_n in_o the_o mind_n though_o perhaps_o some_o of_o the_o cause_n which_o produce_v they_o be_v bare_o privation_n in_o those_o subject_n from_o whence_o our_o sense_n derive_v those_o idea_n these_o the_o understanding_n in_o its_o view_n of_o they_o consider_v all_o as_o distinct_a positive_a idea_n without_o take_v notice_n of_o the_o cause_n that_o produce_v they_o which_o be_v a_o enquiry_n not_o belong_v to_o the_o idea_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o understanding_n but_o to_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n exist_v without_o we_o these_o be_v two_o very_a different_a thing_n and_o careful_o to_o be_v less_o positive_a in_o his_o mind_n than_o that_o of_o white_a however_o the_o cause_n of_o that_o colour_n in_o the_o external_a object_n may_v be_v only_o a_o privation_n §_o 4._o if_o it_o be_v they_o in_o we_o §_o 9_o concern_v these_o quality_n we_o may_v i_o think_v observe_v these_o primary_n one_o in_o body_n that_o produce_v simple_a idea_n in_o we_o viz._n solidity_n extension_n motion_n or_o rest_n number_n and_o figure_n §_o 10._o these_o which_o i_o call_v original_a or_o primary_n quality_n of_o body_n be_v whole_o inseparable_a from_o it_o and_o such_o as_o in_o all_o the_o alteration_n and_o change_n it_o suffer_v all_o the_o force_n can_v be_v use_v upon_o it_o it_o constant_o keep_v and_o such_o as_o sense_n constant_o find_v in_o every_o particle_n of_o
