can_v but_o acknowledge_v something_o divine_a within_o he_o that_o as_o we_o may_v say_v with_o reverence_n to_o the_o high_a majesty_n sit_v as_o a_o god_n there_o the_o body_n be_v a_o palace_n eye_n but_o be_v detect_v by_o the_o reason_n that_o try_v thing_n themselves_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v paint_v so_o to_o the_o life_n that_o it_o cheat_v the_o sight_n and_o seem_v to_o be_v the_o very_a thing_n that_o it_o dissemble_v yet_o it_o be_v never_o the_o more_o the_o thing_n it_o be_v therefore_o a_o unseen_a nature_n from_o which_o every_o thing_n have_v its_o virtue_n hence_o it_o appear_v there_o be_v a_o great_a retirement_n of_o that_o which_o be_v the_o kernel_n of_o these_o being_n from_o outward_a garb_n lineament_n appearance_n and_o it_o fair_o lead_v we_o to_o the_o belief_n of_o being_n invisible_a who_o whole_a nature_n and_o being_n be_v hide_v from_o sense_n but_o only_o in_o their_o operation_n wherein_o they_o exceed_v so_o much_o as_o to_o recompense_v with_o that_o evidence_n of_o themselves_o the_o retreat_n of_o their_o being_n from_o fight_n for_o if_o those_o poor_a thing_n who_o pretence_n be_v small_a and_o their_o effect_n low_a and_o their_o essence_n but_o a_o due_o prepare_v matter_n and_o so_o must_v for_o the_o most_o part_n lie_v open_a to_o sense_n have_v yet_o a_o secret_a of_o their_o essence_n in_o reserve_n and_o make_v solemn_a by_o a_o vail_n of_o secrecy_n draw_v over_o they_o how_o reasonable_a be_v it_o to_o think_v the_o high_a operation_n shall_v have_v their_o seat_n in_o being_n whole_o immaterial_a and_o reality_n of_o their_o being_n and_o the_o greatness_n of_o they_o for_o by_o such_o address_n and_o such_o kind_n of_o effect_n as_o be_v the_o most_o assure_v credential_n to_o man_n as_o they_o be_v now_o in_o body_n they_o have_v give_v to_o sense_n and_o sight_n great_a satisfaction_n and_o notice_n of_o themselves_o and_o at_o the_o same_o time_n awaken_v reason_n to_o observe_v they_o be_v some_o unusual_a and_o strange_a being_n and_o not_o familiar_a and_o ordinary_a one_o and_o that_o they_o take_v up_o a_o short_a lodging_n only_o in_o these_o appearance_n to_o put_v sense_n out_o of_o doubt_n concern_v themselves_o for_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n to_o make_v it_o plain_a to_o reason_n that_o they_o exceed_v the_o force_n of_o all_o visible_a thing_n and_o be_v not_o tie_v to_o act_v by_o their_o proportion_n or_o so_o much_o as_o by_o the_o rule_n the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o the_o body_n act_v by_o they_o have_v always_o contrive_v into_o some_o part_n or_o circumstance_n of_o their_o appearance_n or_o the_o effect_n they_o wrought_v token_n of_o their_o spirituality_n and_o grandeur_n they_o do_v something_o wonderful_a so_o that_o while_o they_o have_v descend_v to_o sense_n they_o have_v also_o amaze_v it_o and_o one_o way_n or_o other_o unriddle_v their_o disguise_n from_o whence_o arise_v these_o plain_a character_n of_o invisible_a being_n 1._o the_o reality_n of_o their_o being_n notwithstanding_o their_o invisibility_n see_v they_o can_v as_o they_o please_v demonstrate_v themselves_o by_o the_o way_n of_o sense_n and_o assume_v visibility_n not_o to_o make_v themselves_o more_o real_a but_o more_o know_v to_o man_n that_o otherwise_o be_v in_o body_n judge_v at_o disadvantage_n of_o those_o out_o of_o it_o 2._o their_o independency_n upon_o visibility_n see_v they_o can_v do_v all_o out_o of_o that_o visible_a appearance_n they_o do_v in_o it_o and_o do_v indeed_o much_o more_o out_o of_o it_o than_o they_o do_v in_o it_o 3._o their_o preference_n of_o invisibility_n to_o visibility_n see_v they_o appear_v only_o a_o short_a time_n body_n

and_o in_o his_o body_n at_o the_o resurrection_n but_o death_n can_v give_v no_o escape_n from_o the_o stroke_n of_o god_n either_o to_o the_o soul_n which_o incontinent_o fall_v under_o it_o nor_o to_o the_o body_n awaken_v hereafter_o to_o endure_v it_o now_o i_o know_v it_o be_v possible_a for_o serpentine_a wit_n to_o glide_v off_o from_o these_o and_o many_o the_o like_a proof_n of_o scripture_n that_o may_v be_v produce_v for_o their_o way_n of_o elusion_n be_v very_o wonderful_a like_o that_o of_o solomon_n serpent_n upon_o a_o rock_n that_o wind_v every_o way_n yet_o leave_v no_o tract_n of_o solid_a reason_n behind_o it_o but_o yet_o i_o affirm_v that_o such_o concurrent_a testimony_n of_o scripture_n be_v so_o conclusive_a that_o no_o sober_a consideration_n can_v escape_v from_o they_o unto_o which_o reveal_v truth_n be_v also_o to_o be_v annex_v reason_n itself_o teach_v we_o as_o i_o have_v already_o urge_v the_o effect_n of_o a_o soul_n be_v too_o great_a to_o be_v ascribe_v to_o any_o power_n of_o body_n and_o therefore_o see_v every_o effect_n must_v have_v a_o equal_a cause_n it_o be_v a_o high_a justification_n of_o the_o assertion_n of_o a_o much_o the_o man_n that_o it_o have_v the_o complete_a substantial_a essence_n of_o a_o man_n so_o far_o in_o itself_o that_o in_o comparison_n of_o it_o the_o body_n be_v but_o prepare_v for_o a_o sensible_a mode_n or_o representation_n in_o which_o the_o soul_n be_v to_o act_v and_o show_v and_o illustrate_v itself_o visible_o and_o sensible_o and_o that_o man_n may_v thereby_o become_v of_o the_o order_n of_o the_o sensible_a and_o visible_a world_n behold_v and_o judge_v by_o the_o ministry_n of_o sensitive_a organ_n of_o the_o beauty_n excellent_a array_n and_o variety_n of_o body_n in_o this_o creation_n and_o himself_o appear_v the_o principal_a of_o they_o but_o retain_v still_o a_o high_a and_o near_a relation_n to_o the_o invisible_a world_n to_o god_n to_o the_o state_n and_o life_n of_o angel_n so_o that_o without_o any_o prejudice_n to_o his_o main_a be_v he_o may_v be_v remove_v out_o of_o the_o body_n thither_o and_o yet_o still_o be_v himself_o as_o to_o all_o the_o chief_a intent_n and_o purpose_n of_o his_o creation_n and_o continue_v so_o till_o in_o the_o restitution_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o the_o manifestation_n either_o of_o the_o goodness_n or_o severity_n of_o god_n after_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o sensible_a and_o visible_a creation_n that_o be_v in_o such_o a_o plain_a way_n as_o see_v and_o know_v thing_n by_o sense_n man_n be_v again_o set_v out_o by_o god_n in_o a_o bodily_a scheme_n or_o fashion_n at_o the_o resurrection_n so_o that_o the_o body_n it_o shall_v then_o have_v shall_v more_o compliable_o wait_v upon_o all_o the_o state_n and_o motion_n of_o the_o soul_n happiness_n or_o misery_n the_o soul_n then_o only_o visible_o show_v itself_o now_o in_o a_o body_n and_o be_v submit_v to_o be_v in_o it_o but_o when_o it_o go_v out_o of_o the_o body_n it_o want_v nothing_o through_o the_o whole_a time_n of_o its_o separation_n that_o it_o have_v here_o but_o only_o the_o appearance_n of_o its_o motion_n in_o a_o body_n nor_o have_v any_o thing_n add_v to_o it_o when_o it_o be_v clothe_v with_o a_o body_n at_o the_o resurrection_n but_o a_o opportunity_n for_o its_o glory_n or_o misery_n to_o be_v see_v sensible_o even_o as_o god_n be_v excellent_a and_o perfect_a in_o himself_o from_o eternity_n when_o there_o be_v no_o creation_n or_o any_o beside_o himself_o nor_o receive_v he_o any_o thing_n or_o find_v any_o addition_n to_o himself_o by_o the_o creation_n for_o all_o thing_n that_o he_o make_v receive_v their_o all_o from_o he_o but_o only_o he_o have_v illustrate_v and_o manifest_v himself_o in_o the_o creation_n and_o the_o creature_n do_v no_o more_o than_o show_v the_o power_n wisdom_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n in_o create_v preserve_a and_o govern_v they_o after_o the_o same_o manner_n so_o far_o as_o we_o may_v with_o reverence_n compare_v any_o of_o the_o creature_n with_o the_o infinite_o excel_v creator_n the_o soul_n receive_v nothing_o from_o the_o body_n or_o any_o of_o the_o part_n of_o it_o but_o only_o such_o organ_n and_o instrument_n which_o it_o be_v to_o inspire_v govern_v and_o rule_v and_o thereby_o to_o show_v its_o efficacy_n vigour_n and_o great_a endowment_n of_o understanding_n and_o virtue_n for_o all_o motion_n from_o the_o high_a to_o the_o low_a derive_v from_o the_o soul_n but_o as_o to_o the_o present_a case_n that_o the_o soul_n fall_v in_o love_n with_o its_o self_n as_o dwell_v in_o body_n and_o with_o its_o low_a motion_n in_o it_o and_o forget_v its_o own_o proper_a and_o high_a motion_n of_o immediate_a converse_v with_o holiness_n and_o true_a wisdom_n and_o that_o rule_n of_o body_n commit_v to_o it_o according_a to_o these_o law_n this_o be_v only_o its_o sin_n weakness_n degeneracy_n and_o fall_v as_o of_o a_o create_v and_o
