we_o be_v to_o labour_v altogether_o against_o these_o corruption_n of_o we_o 2._o against_o our_o pride_n self-love_n unbelief_n hypocrisy_n earthliness_n weariness_n of_o well-doing_n 13._o and_o the_o like_a all_o that_o be_v christ_n have_v crucisle_v the_o o_z flesh_n with_o the_o affection_n and_o lust_n 24._o we_o must_v mortify_v our_o earthly_a member_n and_o by_o the_o spirit_n mortify_v the_o deed_n of_o the_o flesh_n 9_o these_o thing_n become_v not_o we_o that_o be_v set_v at_o liberty_n from_o sin_n 2._o and_o be_v eudue_v with_o the_o spirit_n 25._o if_o we_o live_v in_o the_o spirit_n let_v we_o walk_v in_o the_o spirit_n for_o we_o that_o be_v christian_n to_o be_v lead_v and_o overcome_v of_o our_o lust_n be_v base_a as_o for_o a_o prince_n to_o be_v lead_v of_o a_o base_a person_n and_o here_o be_v the_o power_n of_o religion_n and_o proof_n of_o a_o christian_a that_o deny_v himself_o and_o crucifi_v his_o lust_n that_o not_o only_o keep_v his_o hand_n but_o purify_v his_o heart_n that_o have_v it_o at_o command_n in_o some_o measure_n we_o must_v labour_v to_o know_v these_o corruption_n and_o our_o own_o heart_n and_o which_o of_o these_o we_o be_v most_o prone_a unto_o and_o discern_v of_o they_o which_o many_o do_v not_o but_o be_v most_o stranger_n at_o home_n and_o have_v many_o corruption_n which_o they_o discern_v not_o for_o the_o heart_n be_v deceitful_a know_v both_o the_o ugliness_n and_o danger_n of_o they_o then_o repent_v of_o they_o be_v humble_v for_o they_o crave_v pardon_v hearty_o unfeigned_o seek_v to_o mortify_v to_o god_n dishonour_n their_o own_o shame_n and_o the_o gospel_n infamy_n where_o be_v our_o christianity_n when_o we_o be_v so_o proud_a that_o we_o will_v contend_v and_o be_v out_o will_v never_o be_v reconcile_v but_o break_v out_o into_o bitter_a speech_n so_o be_v so_o covetous_a so_o lazy_a also_o in_o goodness_n that_o either_o we_o neglect_v duty_n whole_o or_o slight_v it_o over_o careless_o fleshly_a lust_n hereby_o be_v yet_o further_o mean_v all_o evil_a thought_n and_o the_o least_o rebel_n of_o this_o nature_n of_o we_o against_o the_o holy_a commandment_n of_o god_n these_o be_v fruit_n of_o this_o concupiscence_n and_o evil_a nature_n of_o we_o ourselves_o and_o of_o the_o flesh_n and_o be_v sin_n against_o god_n but_o here_o know_v that_o evil_a thought_n be_v of_o two_o kind_n 1._o such_o as_o be_v cast_v in_o by_o satan_n as_o into_o judas_n 2._o such_o as_o arise_v from_o our_o own_o corrupt_a nature_n as_o christ_n say_v to_o his_o disciple_n why_o do_v thought_n arise_v in_o your_o heart_n for_o the_o former_a they_o either_o fasten_v upon_o our_o nature_n and_o tarry_v to_o tickle_v we_o with_o a_o kind_n of_o pleasure_n or_o else_o be_v immediate_o cast_v out_o with_o deep_a detestation_n if_o they_o tarry_v never_o so_o little_a to_o parley_v with_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n they_o be_v our_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o satan_n but_o if_o cast_v out_o immediate_o they_o be_v not_o then_o be_v they_o our_o cross_n not_o our_o sin_n but_o the_o devil_n and_o shall_v also_o be_v lay_v to_o his_o charge_n not_o we_o for_o so_o he_o cast_v in_o thought_n into_o our_o saviour_n christ_n mind_n of_o distrust_n presumption_n idolatry_n etc._n etc._n but_o they_o fasten_v not_o at_o all_o on_o his_o nature_n therefore_o he_o be_v never_o than_o be_v meet_v to_o be_v name_v which_o be_v sometime_o the_o state_n of_o civil_a person_n sometime_o of_o the_o true_a child_n of_o god_n which_o be_v cast_v into_o their_o mind_n as_o thick_a as_o hailstone_n and_o be_v by_o some_o call_v the_o foul_a temptation_n by_o some_o the_o temptation_n of_o blasphemy_n this_o do_v so_o wonderful_o perplex_v the_o party_n that_o it_o fill_v they_o not_o only_o with_o fear_n but_o even_o drive_v they_o almost_o to_o despair_v make_v they_o weary_a of_o their_o life_n that_o they_o can_v wish_v themselves_o as_o far_o under_o ground_n as_o they_o be_v above_o yea_o many_o to_o think_v of_o make_v away_o themselves_o haunt_v they_o in_o all_o place_n night_n and_o day_n that_o they_o can_v rest_v so_o weaken_v their_o body_n and_o mind_n exceed_o concern_v this_o state_n we_o must_v know_v it_o come_v to_o pass_v by_o god_n providence_n and_o permission_n to_o satan_n thus_o to_o torment_v they_o the_o cause_n may_v be_v either_o to_o humble_v they_o to_o repentance_n for_o some_o coldness_n or_o slackness_n they_o be_v fall_v into_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n satan_n and_o their_o course_n which_o god_n thus_o punish_v or_o else_o he_o punish_v the_o barrenness_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o idleness_n of_o their_o mind_n that_o care_v not_o how_o they_o spend_v away_o their_o time_n they_o their_o mind_n rove_a unprofitable_o which_o god_n often_o chasten_v the_o way_n for_o these_o to_o take_v be_v 1._o to_o examine_v themselves_o if_o there_o be_v any_o sin_n lie_v unrepented_a of_o or_o not_o thorough_o repent_v of_o to_o confess_v and_o crave_v pardon_n of_o it_o and_o repent_v of_o it_o from_o the_o heart_n if_o any_o coldness_n or_o slackness_n or_o decline_v in_o care_n or_o idleness_n of_o mind_n and_o unprofitableness_n then_o be_v we_o to_o pray_v against_o they_o and_o keep_v our_o heart_n still_o in_o hatred_n and_o detestation_n of_o they_o and_o therein_o comfort_v ourselves_o that_o the_o lord_n know_v our_o heart_n and_o will_v not_o lay_v they_o to_o our_o charge_n 2._o set_a light_n by_o they_o let_v they_o go_v as_o they_o come_v for_o the_o more_o we_o strive_v with_o they_o the_o more_o we_o snarl_v and_o trouble_v ourselves_o and_o if_o we_o make_v a_o great_a matter_n of_o they_o the_o devil_n will_v still_o delight_v to_o vex_v we_o but_o if_o we_o set_v king_n and_o realm_n whereas_o other_o live_v bad_o and_o thereby_o provoke_v god_n against_o both_o 2._o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o man_n labour_v first_o to_o be_v godly_a 2._o ere_o they_o enter_v into_o their_o particular_a calling_n o_o then_o will_v they_o be_v godly_a magistrate_n minister_n householder_n and_o the_o contrary_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o so_o much_o wrack_n in_o
