extend_v or_o disâ—used_v so_o do_v it_o become_v various_a answerable_a to_o its_o various_a seat_n for_o in_o the_o heart_n it_o be_v so_o act_v as_o to_o assume_v the_o virtue_n of_o the_o heart_n which_o property_n it_o be_v not_o fraught_v with_o in_o the_o other_o member_n so_o likewise_o in_o the_o liver_n it_o get_v the_o virtue_n of_o it_o and_o perform_v that_o office_n there_o only_o and_o not_o in_o the_o other_o part_n the_o like_a be_v to_o be_v judge_v of_o the_o marrow_n but_o although_o that_o these_o virtue_n be_v either_o perceptible_a or_o not_o perceptable_a yet_o the_o virtue_n of_o all_o the_o member_n be_v uniform_a nor_o be_v they_o any_o otherwise_o to_o be_v understand_v then_o thus_o viz._n that_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o heart_n do_v in_o some_o sort_n only_o differ_v from_o those_o of_o the_o bone_n whereas_o the_o virtue_n be_v but_o one_o notwithstanding_o for_o the_o virtue_n that_o sustain_v and_o conserve_v the_o bone_n be_v not_o weak_a than_o those_o be_v which_o refresh_v and_o strengthen_v the_o heart_n for_o there_o be_v as_o much_o of_o importance_n situate_v in_o the_o bone_n as_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n so_o in_o like_a manner_n the_o virtue_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o the_o brain_n be_v not_o of_o more_o excellency_n than_o those_o in_o the_o marrow_n and_o although_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o use_n and_o necessity_n of_o that_o in_o the_o brain_n the_o contrary_a seem_v true_a yet_o the_o necessity_n of_o the_o marrow_n be_v as_o much_o as_o that_o be_v of_o the_o brain_n and_o the_o virtue_n of_o they_o both_o be_v alike_o the_o like_a consideration_n be_v to_o be_v have_v of_o all_o the_o member_n of_o the_o which_o though_o some_o seem_v worthy_a than_o other_o some_o yet_o it_o be_v but_o one_o only_a spirit_n of_o life_n that_o be_v the_o governor_n the_o virtue_n the_o efficacy_n and_o operation_n of_o they_o all_o chap._n ii_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n arise_v from_o external_a cause_n or_o generation_n and_o not_o from_o natural_a according_a to_o the_o flesh_n for_o as_o the_o generation_n of_o the_o other_o member_n iâ—_n twofold_a so_o the_o generation_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v simple_a and_o be_v unite_v with_o the_o body_n and_o the_o member_n as_o we_o have_v say_v this_o likewise_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o as_o in_o reference_n to_o its_o own_o virtue_n it_o can_v be_v strengthen_v unless_o the_o member_n themselves_o be_v healthy_a and_o strong_a for_o by_o how_o much_o the_o strong_a healthy_a and_o chearfull_a a_o member_n be_v by_o nature_n by_o so_o much_o strong_a and_o more_o refresh_o do_v the_o spirit_n shine_v forth_o and_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o by_o any_o mean_n attempt_v to_o conserve_v strengthen_v and_o advance_v it_o as_o it_o be_v a_o spirit_n of_o life_n but_o only_o thus_o viz._n by_o conserve_n and_o strengthen_v the_o member_n which_o have_v their_o birth_n from_o nature_n in_o their_o first_o integrity_n and_o original_a healthfulness_n this_o be_v do_v the_o spirit_n do_v in_o itself_o become_v more_o enlarge_v and_o more_o strong_a but_o yet_o there_o be_v one_o thing_n that_o appertain_v to_o the_o spirit_n only_o and_o it_o be_v this_o viz._n that_o it_o be_v occupy_v in_o the_o open_a passage_n and_o keep_v unstop_v concern_v which_o oppilation_n or_o stop_v if_o it_o chance_v to_o happen_v we_o will_v here_o annex_v a_o peculiar_a treatise_n then_o after_o we_o have_v so_o do_v we_o will_v annex_v two_o little_a book_n of_o the_o member_n that_o govern_v themselves_o as_o shall_v anon_o follow_v you_o must_v therefore_o know_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n may_v be_v so_o stop_v that_o unless_o the_o way_n and_o pore_n of_o its_o passage_n be_v open_v it_o may_v be_v strangle_v for_o the_o second_o generation_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o vapour_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n live_v in_o we_o in_o the_o form_n of_o a_o vapour_n as_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o second_o charity_n and_o this_o be_v that_o treasure_n of_o the_o chief_a good_a viz._n the_o material_a part_n which_o we_o do_v understand_v and_o mean_v in_o the_o write_n of_o our_o archidoxis_n and_o as_o for_o the_o spiritual_a part_n we_o will_v refer_v that_o to_o our_o monarchiâ_fw-la how_o out_o of_o the_o aforesaid_a bassis_fw-la and_o foundation_n have_v we_o experimental_o draw_v our_o medicine_n whereby_o we_o be_v make_v certain_a and_o do_v occular_o behold_v that_o the_o thing_n be_v true_o so_o to_o come_v therefore_o to_o the_o practic_n part_n we_o will_v divide_v this_o so_o easy_o we_o will_v not_o disclose_v our_o mind_n thought_n and_o heart_n to_o those_o deaf_a ear_n nor_o to_o wicked_a man_n but_o will_v studious_o endeavour_v to_o shut_v up_o our_o arcanum_n from_o those_o with_o a_o strong_a wall_n and_o key_n and_o for_o fear_v least_o this_o our_o labour_n shall_v not_o be_v secure_a enough_o from_o those_o idiot_n that_o be_v enemy_n to_o all_o true_a art_n we_o shall_v whole_o refrain_v from_o write_v the_o ten_o book_n concern_v the_o use_n and_o practice_v of_o the_o thing_n precede_v it_o that_o so_o we_o may_v not_o cast_v the_o child_n bread_n to_o dog_n yet_o nevertheless_o such_o as_o be_v our_o son_n will_v abundant_o enough_o understand_v the_o other_o nine_o and_o that_o we_o may_v speak_v more_o open_o of_o these_o art_n you_o be_v to_o know_v in_o this_o treatise_n of_o the_o microcosm_n that_o therein_o be_v a_o approve_a demonstration_n of_o each_o thing_n both_o of_o such_o as_o it_o contain_v and_o such_o as_o mobility_n of_o the_o body_n must_v be_v consider_v also_o as_o from_o whence_o it_o proceed_v and_o by_o what_o it_o be_v move_v and_o stir_v and_o by_o what_o mean_v it_o be_v to_o be_v holpen_v three_o there_o must_v be_v a_o knowledge_n of_o the_o division_n of_o all_o the_o power_n in_o the_o body_n and_o what_o thing_n they_o be_v that_o have_v a_o agreement_n with_o each_o member_n and_o be_v to_o be_v transmute_v according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o those_o member_n whereas_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v at_o the_o beginning_n one_o only_a nature_n first_o of_o all_o therefore_o we_o will_v speak_v of_o these_o of_o see_v hear_v touch_v taste_v and_o smell_a you_o may_v take_v this_o teach_a example_n the_o eye_n have_v a_o matter_n of_o which_o they_o consist_v as_o be_v mention_v in_o the_o composition_n of_o the_o body_n so_o also_o have_v the_o other_o sense_n but_o now_o the_o sight_n itself_o be_v not_o out_o of_o that_o seed_n of_o which_o the_o eye_n proceed_v nor_o the_o hear_n or_o tone_n out_o of_o that_o of_o which_o the_o ear_n be_v make_v nor_o proceed_v the_o touch_n from_o the_o flesh_n nor_o the_o taste_n out_o of_o the_o tongue_n nor_o the_o smell_n from_o the_o nostril_n no_o more_o than_o reason_n proceed_v from_o the_o brain_n but_o these_o be_v bodily_a organ_n or_o rather_o coffer_n in_o which_o the_o sense_n be_v generate_v neither_o be_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o these_o sense_n have_v their_o dependence_n upon_o the_o grace_n and_o pleasure_n of_o the_o creator_n in_o such_o wise_a as_o not_o to_o be_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n but_o only_o infuse_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n supernatural_o to_o this_o end_n that_o the_o great_a wonder_n of_o god_n may_v if_o at_o any_o time_n a_o man_n be_v bear_v blind_a be_v make_v know_v unto_o we_o we_o be_v not_o to_o conceive_v of_o it_o thus_o in_o this_o place_n for_o the_o aforesaid_a sense_n have_v their_o proper_a insensible_a and_o impalpable_a body_n even_o as_o on_o the_o contrary_a the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o body_n be_v tangible_a for_o every_o man_n be_v compose_v of_o two_o viz._n of_o a_o material_a and_o of_o a_o spiritual_a two_o body_n viz._n a_o eternal_a and_o a_o corporal_n couch_v and_o conclude_v in_o one_o as_o be_v also_o manifest_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o generation_n of_o man_n now_o medicine_n work_v upon_o the_o house_n and_o cleanse_v it_o whereby_o the_o spiritual_a body_n be_v able_a to_o perfect_v its_o proper_a action_n therein_o no_o otherwise_o then_o as_o civet_n in_o a_o clean_a and_o a_o undefiled_a case_n second_o now_o let_v we_o proceed_v to_o the_o motive_n faculty_n of_o the_o body_n and_o inquire_v whence_o it_o be_v and_o how_o it_o have_v its_o original_a viz._n what_o or_o how_o the_o body_n unite_v its_o self_n to_o the_o medicine_n whereby_o the_o motive_n virtue_n be_v increase_v you_o be_v to_o understand_v it_o thus_o every_o thing_n that_o live_v have_v its_o more_o easy_a to_o be_v kindle_v then_o the_o vegetative_a soul_n because_o that_o she_o run_v and_o walk_v by_o herself_o and_o be_v dispose_v hereunto_o for_o even_o as_o a_o fire_n that_o be_v distribution_n that_o be_v make_v in_o the_o body_n unto_o all_o the_o member_n out_o of_o all_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v present_v unto_o it_o either_o without_o or_o within_o in_o that_o distribution_n be_v make_v a_o mutation_n whereby_o the_o thing_n be_v so_o change_v that_o one_o part_n serve_v for_o the_o complexion_n of_o the_o heart_n another_o part_n be_v accommodate_v to_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o brain_n and_o so_o likewise_o be_v it_o with_o the_o rest_n now_o the_o body_n attract_v unto_o its_o self_n two_o manner_n of_o way_n viz._n internal_o and_o external_o internal_o it_o attract_v whatsoever_o be_v take_v in_o by_o the_o mouth_n external_o it_o attract_v the_o air_n earth_n water_n and_o fire_n thus_o therefore_o be_v the_o business_n to_o be_v constitute_v and_o define_v viz._n those_o thing_n that_o be_v receive_v inward_o be_v not_o so_o necessary_a to_o be_v write_v for_o that_o they_o be_v to_o be_v know_v by_o the_o foundation_n of_o nature_n viz._n these_o which_o be_v distribute_v thus_o as_o we_o shall_v speak_v anon_o concern_v the_o division_n but_o outward_o you_o be_v to_o understand_v it_o thus_o that_o the_o body_n do_v attract_v through_o the_o whole_a skin_n from_o the_o four_o external_a element_n what_o be_v necessary_a for_o it_o which_o if_o it_o shall_v not_o do_v the_o internal_a nutriment_n will_v not_o suffice_v for_o a_o man_n support_n and_o because_o that_o moisture_n be_v so_o very_a existent_n in_o the_o body_n by_o custom_n the_o same_o body_n extract_v it_o out_o of_o the_o element_n water_n and_o so_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o as_o long_o as_o one_o shall_v sit_v or_o stand_v therein_o he_o need_v not_o any_o other_o quench_v of_o his_o thirst_n now_o this_o proceed_v not_o from_o the_o water_n extinguish_v the_o heat_n as_o it_o quench_v fire_n but_o the_o internal_a heat_n attract_v the_o external_a moisture_n to_o itself_o &_o drink_v it_o just_a as_o if_o it_o be_v take_v inward_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o cow_n be_v able_a to_o abide_v in_o the_o alps_o without_o drink_v a_o whole_a summer_n for_o the_o air_n be_v as_o a_o drink_n to_o they_o and_o supply_v the_o place_n and_o office_n thereof_o the_o same_o may_v be_v conclude_v of_o as_o to_o a_o man_n moreover_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o man_n may_v be_v sustain_v also_o without_o food_n if_o he_o be_v set_v medicine_n viz._n by_o the_o quintessence_n of_o gold_n and_o scarce_o take_v half_a a_o scruple_n thereof_o each_o day_n hence_o likewise_o or_o after_o this_o manner_n have_v there_o be_v many_o other_o that_o have_v eat_v nothing_o for_o many_o year_n viz._n xx_o year_n such_o i_o remember_v i_o have_v see_v in_o my_o time_n some_o do_v attribute_v this_o kind_n of_o live_v to_o the_o goodness_n and_o piety_n of_o the_o person_n and_o some_o also_o impute_v it_o to_o god_n the_o which_o we_o do_v not_o in_o the_o least_o desire_n to_o gainsay_v or_o judge_v of_o yet_o however_o this_o thing_n be_v even_o natural_a for_o sadness_n melancholy_a and_o faint_a or_o grief_n of_o the_o mind_n do_v take_v away_o both_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n so_o that_o by_o the_o attraction_n of_o the_o body_n to_o wit_n self_n it_o be_v able_a to_o sustain_v it_o for_o many_o year_n for_o as_o much_o as_o food_n and_o drink_n be_v not_o so_o ordain_v or_o appoint_v as_o that_o we_o must_v of_o necessity_n eat_v flesh_n or_o bread_n and_o drink_v wine_n or_o water_n but_o also_o we_o may_v sustain_v our_o life_n with_o the_o air_n and_o with_o clod_n of_o earth_n and_o we_o be_v to_o believe_v that_o whatsoever_o be_v ordain_v for_o food_n be_v make_v that_o we_o may_v try_v and_o taste_v it_o the_o which_o we_o shall_v declare_v more_o at_o large_a in_o our_o book_n of_o the_o monarchy_n of_o god_n albeit_o we_o grant_v thus_o much_o that_o because_o of_o our_o labour_n and_o such_o like_a we_o can_v want_v temporal_a and_o corporal_a food_n and_o that_o for_o very_a many_o cause_n and_o therefore_o food_n be_v ordain_v for_o this_o body_n as_o medicine_n be_v against_o disease_n now_o therefore_o as_o to_o the_o distinction_n of_o thing_n which_o enter_v into_o the_o body_n observe_v it_o thus_o that_o they_o be_v distribute_v throughout_o all_o the_o part_n of_o the_o body_n no_o otherwise_o then_o as_o if_o vinum_fw-la arden_n or_o burn_a spirit_n be_v pour_v into_o water_n thereby_o make_v it_o all_o of_o the_o same_o odour_n because_o it_o be_v defuse_a throughout_o the_o whole_a body_n thereof_o in_o like_a manner_n if_o ink_n be_v put_v into_o wine_n when_o we_o need_v they_o we_o will_v write_v down_o these_o nine_o book_n but_o as_o for_o the_o ten_o i_o will_v reserve_v that_o close_a in_o my_o brain_n because_o of_o the_o ungrateful_a idiot_n predestinate_v element_n have_v of_o its_o own_o nature_n the_o other_o three_o element_n adhere_v unto_o itself_o yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v to_o be_v believe_v that_o the_o element_n and_o substance_n or_o matter_n be_v different_a from_o each_o other_o the_o which_o be_v to_o be_v thus_o understand_v the_o substance_n or_o matter_n be_v not_o from_o that_o element_n which_o tinge_v and_o elementate_v the_o substance_n neither_o also_o be_v these_o element_n from_o the_o substance_n but_o they_o have_v a_o equal_a like_o agreement_n as_o the_o body_n and_o soul_n have_v but_o now_o each_o body_n as_o for_o example_n the_o body_n of_o some_o grow_a thing_n have_v its_o complexion_n and_o likewise_o its_o element_n although_o the_o element_n itself_o be_v not_o visible_a in_o the_o grow_a body_n nor_o be_v it_o tangible_a or_o demonstrable_a and_o that_o for_o this_o reason_n because_o this_o element_n be_v by_o reason_n of_o its_o subtlety_n more_o strong_a and_o subject_n the_o other_o element_n of_o the_o grow_a body_n and_o yet_o all_o of_o they_o be_v in_o the_o body_n but_o imperceptible_o like_v as_o when_o water_n be_v permix_v with_o vinegar_n it_o become_v like_a unto_o it_o and_o although_o the_o vinegar_n shall_v have_v change_v all_o in_o the_o essence_n thereof_o yet_o nevertheless_o the_o complexion_n of_o the_o water_n remain_v incorrupt_a nor_o be_v it_o vinegar_n for_o that_o cause_n but_o be_v as_o much_o water_n as_o afore_o and_o although_o it_o put_v not_o forth_o the_o virtue_n of_o water_n as_o afore_o yet_o it_o separation_n of_o the_o four_o element_n we_o mean_v those_o four_o which_o be_v essential_o in_o a_o body_n from_o hence_o have_v rise_v so_o many_o various_a error_n because_o that_o man_n have_v seek_v after_o the_o four_o element_n and_o also_o the_o quintessence_n in_o the_o predestinate_v element_n the_o which_o can_v possible_o be_v moreover_o you_o must_v also_o know_v that_o when_o the_o element_n of_o body_n be_v not_o to_o be_v separate_v so_o that_o one_o may_v be_v fire_n another_o water_n and_o another_o like_a to_o air_n and_o the_o four_o to_o earth_n according_a to_o their_o complexion_n that_o sometime_o the_o element_n appear_v with_o their_o form_n sometime_o with_o their_o complexion_n as_o the_o water_n like_o water_n the_o air_n like_o air_n the_o earth_n like_o earth_n and_o the_o fire_n like_o fire_n these_o be_v to_o
the_o small_a part_n of_o their_o virtue_n and_o quality_n but_o we_o have_v chief_o declare_v thus_o much_o that_o these_o thing_n may_v be_v somewhat_o understand_v but_o as_o to_o the_o quality_n and_o quantity_n of_o all_o their_o virtue_n and_o excellency_n that_o be_v not_o do_v by_o we_o in_o the_o least_o hereby_o may_v be_v hint_v unto_o we_o the_o greatness_n of_o that_o power_n which_o be_v in_o our_o hand_n do_v we_o but_o know_v how_o to_o use_v it_o well_o hence_o also_o be_v manifest_v the_o cause_n why_o man_n be_v create_v and_o all_o thing_n in_o earth_n make_v subject_a to_o he_o likewise_o why_o nothing_o be_v it_o good_a or_o be_v it_o have_v proceed_v forth_o without_o a_o cause_n the_o which_o we_o declare_v more_o clear_o in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o nature_n of_o thing_n for_o that_o fundamental_a and_o ba_v bring_v with_o it_o a_o faith_n strong_o bend_v upon_o the_o creator_n and_o a_o hope_n of_o his_o love_n towards_o we_o as_o of_o a_o love_a father_n to_o his_o child_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o snatch_v at_o every_o shadowy_a and_o vain_a faith_n but_o aught_o to_o behold_v god_n only_o and_o nature_n and_o the_o art_n of_o nature_n wherefore_o good_a reason_n have_v we_o to_o in_o voak_n he_o only_o in_o this_o life_n and_o for_o ever_o and_o believe_v that_o only_o which_o we_o see_v so_o to_o be_v and_o neither_o receive_v or_o approve_v of_o any_o thing_n that_o do_v not_o agree_v with_o nature_n but_o be_v beside_o the_o way_n thereof_o the_o end_n of_o the_o four_o book_n etc._n etc._n the_o five_o book_n of_o the_o archidoxis_n of_o arcanaes_n have_v speak_v of_o quintessence_n we_o not_o come_v in_o order_n to_o write_v of_o arcanaes_n 〈◊〉_d secret_n for_o as_o to_o these_o we_o understand_v more_o to_o be_v herein_o then_o be_v in_o quittessential_a virtue_n wherein_o we_o be_v by_o experîence_n teach_v that_o there_o be_v a_o vast_a difference_n as_o to_o the_o great_a powerful_a operation_n by_o which_o be_v demonstrate_v unto_o we_o as_o by_o most_o evident_a sign_n which_o be_v better_a and_o more_o virtual_o prositable_a and_o which_o be_v leâ—_n virtuous_a therefore_o may_v we_o assume_v the_o one_o instead_o of_o the_o other_o for_o medicine_n according_a to_o the_o suitability_n of_o the_o thing_n indeed_o the_o ancient_n have_v often_o judgeâ—_n arcanaes_n to_o be_v quintessence_n because_o they_o see_v they_o to_o be_v far_o more_o subtle_a than_o the_o more-gross_a substance_n and_o know_v that_o they_o operate_v by_o the_o subtlety_n of_o their_o nature_n after_o a_o wonderful_a manner_n but_o this_o error_n oâ—_n they_o proceed_v not_o from_o their_o reason_n and_o consideration_n but_o arise_v rather_o from_o the_o barrenness_n of_o the_o practic_n part_n for_o they_o have_v no_o knowledge_n of_o the_o determinate_a difference_n and_o limit_a distinction_n of_o the_o degree_n of_o high_a thing_n but_o account_v every_o high_a and_o high_a degree_n in_o the_o place_n of_o quintessence_n the_o which_o distinction_n notwithstanding_o must_v be_v not_o only_o know_v and_o define_v by_o the_o practic_n but_o rather_o also_o from_o the_o operation_n of_o medicine_n therefore_o before_o we_o shall_v treat_v of_o arcanaes_n it_o be_v to_o be_v see_v and_o know_v why_o they_o be_v so_o call_v and_o what_o â—n_n arcanum_n be_v see_v it_o have_v a_o name_n so_o excellent_a and_o indeed_o full_a well_o deserve_v it_o a_o arcanum_n be_v so_o call_v because_o it_o be_v incoporëal_a immortal_a of_o a_o perpetual_a life_n above_o all_o or_o every_o nature_n intelligible_a and_o be_v as_o it_o be_v of_o a_o more_o than_o humane_a knowledge_n therefore_o arcanaes_n be_v compare_v to_o our_o corporeal_a body_n be_v to_o be_v account_v of_o as_o incorporeal_a and_o of_o a_o far_o more_o excellent_a essence_n than_o we_o and_o of_o as_o much_o difference_n as_o be_v betwixt_o black_a and_o white_a for_o they_o have_v a_o power_n of_o transmute_v alter_a and_o restore_a we_o as_o the_o arcanaes_n of_o god_n according_a to_o their_o proper_a induction_n and_o order_n and_o although_o there_o be_v not_o in_o our_o arcanaes_n a_o eternity_n or_o that_o celestial_a harmony_n yet_o ne_o vertheless_o they_o be_v in_o comparison_n of_o we_o to_o be_v adjudge_v as_o celestial_a for_o as_o much_o as_o they_o conserve_v our_o body_n more_o than_o â—s_v possible_a to_o nature_n or_o can_v be_v search_v out_o and_o do_v operate_v thereupon_o by_o their_o virtue_n after_o a_o wonderful_a manner_n and_o therefore_o these_o natural_a arcanaes_n be_v as_o to_o what_o appertain_v to_o medicine_n to_o be_v so_o compare_v to_o our_o body_n as_o the_o arcanaes_n of_o god_n be_v to_o they_o neither_o will_v we_o be_v afraid_a to_o write_v that_o these_o arcanaes_n be_v high_o and_o great_a than_o we_o ourselves_o and_o have_v a_o most_o great_a power_n of_o furnish_v we_o with_o life_n as_o shall_v be_v witness_v by_o those_o four_o which_o we_o shall_v set_v down_o nor_o will_v we_o in_o the_o least_o care_n for_o those_o vain_a empty_a tale_n of_o those_o unprofitable_a slavish_a deünculi_n or_o dwarf-like_a divine_n look_v upon_o they_o to_o understand_v no_o more_o than_o the_o blind_a do_v see_v so_o therefore_o one_o be_v a_o arcanum_n in_o oâ—â—_n essence_n another_o be_v a_o arcanum_n of_o nature_n herself_o for_o a_o arcanum_n be_v the_o whole_a virtue_n of_o a_o thing_n but_o exceâ—â—_n it_o a_o thousand_o fold_n therefore_o we_o be_v able_a to_o discourse_v without_o â—ear_n thus_o viz._n the_o arcanum_n of_o a_o man_n be_v the_o whole_a gift_n and_o virtue_n of_o that_o which_o he_o retain_v to_o eternity_n as_o we_o teach_v in_o another_o book_n of_o this_o archidoxis_n therefore_o a_o arcanum_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v two_o way_n the_o one_o be_v perpetual_a the_o other_o be_v as-it-were-perpetual_a this_o viz._n as-it-were-perpetual_a arcanum_n we_o judge_v tâ—_n be_v like_o
