and_o determine_v before_o the_o admiral_n or_o his_o lieutenant_n or_o commissary_n after_o the_o course_n of_o the_o civil_a law_n the_o nature_n whereof_o be_v that_o before_o any_o judgement_n of_o death_n can_v be_v give_v against_o the_o offender_n either_o they_o must_v plain_o confess_v their_o offence_n which_o they_o will_v never_o do_v without_o torture_n or_o pain_n or_o else_o
