St. Peter also doth instruct you very godly thus saying Let wives be subject to their own husbands so that if any obey not the word they may without the word be wonne by the conversation of the wives while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of platted hair and wearing of gold or of putting on of apparel but let it be the hidden man of the heart in that which is not corruptible even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is a precious thing in the sight of God For after this manner in the old time did the holy women which trusted in God adorn themselves being in subjection to their own husbands even as Sarah obeyed Abraham calling him Lord whose daughters ye are as long as ye do well and not being dismayed with any fear These are your duties which if you shall observe that blessing in the 128.
