god_n it_o look_v to_o heaven_n it_o look_v to_o the_o end_n and_o issue_n that_o all_o be_v for_o good_a nature_n it_o fill_v full_a of_o sense_n and_o pain_n and_o make_v a_o man_n desire_v remedy_n and_o ease_n corrupt_a nature_n stir_v a_o man_n up_o to_o fret_v and_o say_v what_o do_v god_n mean_a to_o do_v thus_o it_o stir_v a_o man_n ofttimes_o to_o use_v ill_a mean_n indirect_a course_n st._n paul_n be_v sensible_a from_o a_o right_a principle_n of_o nature_n and_o no_o doubt_n here_o be_v some_o tang_n of_o corruption_n with_o it_o he_o be_v sensible_a of_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n adam_n in_o innocence_n will_v have_v be_v affect_v and_o exquisite_o sensible_a no_o doubt_n if_o his_o body_n have_v be_v wrong_v for_o the_o more_o pure_a the_o complexion_n the_o more_o sensible_a of_o solution_n as_o physician_n say_v when_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v knit_v together_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v loose_v by_o sickness_n or_o by_o wound_n that_o shall_v by_o nature_n not_o be_v hurt_v but_o continue_v together_o it_o breed_v exquisite_a pain_n as_o to_o cut_v that_o which_o shall_v not_o be_v cut_v to_o disjoin_v that_o which_o shall_v be_v together_o this_o be_v in_o nature_n the_o schoolman_n say_v and_o the_o reason_n be_v good_a that_o christ_n pain_n be_v the_o great_a pain_n because_o his_o sense_n be_v not_o dull_v and_o stupefy_v with_o sensuality_n or_o indirect_a course_n he_o have_v a_o body_n of_o a_o excellent_a temper_n and_o he_o be_v in_o the_o perfection_n of_o his_o year_n when_o he_o die_v therefore_o he_o receive_v such_o a_o impression_n of_o grief_n in_o his_o whip_n and_o when_o he_o be_v crown_v with_o thorn_n that_o be_v it_o that_o make_v he_o so_o sensible_a of_o grief_n that_o when_o he_o sweat_v he_o sweat_v drop_n of_o blood_n and_o upon_o the_o cross_n it_o make_v he_o cry_v out_o my_o god_n my_o god_n why_o have_v thou_o forsake_v i_o god_n child_n out_o of_o a_o principle_n of_o nature_n be_v sensible_a of_o any_o grievance_n to_o this_o outward_a man_n of_o they_o to_o the_o body_n especial_o in_o death_n as_o we_o see_v here_o st._n paul_n and_o there_o be_v most_o patience_n where_o there_o be_v most_o sense_n it_o be_v stupidity_n and_o blockishness_n else_o why_o be_v god_n child_n so_o sensible_a in_o grief_n especial_o in_o death_n quest._n oh_o there_o be_v a_o great_a cause_n indeed_o in_o some_o regard_v they_o be_v not_o afraid_a of_o it_o ans._n for_o death_n be_v a_o enemy_n to_o nature_n it_o be_v none_o to_o grace_n but_o when_o i_o speak_v comfort_n not_o of_o grace_n and_o glory_n but_o of_o nature_n have_v not_o nature_n great_a cause_n to_o tremble_v at_o death_n when_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o nature_n even_o to_o right_a nature_n it_o be_v the_o king_n of_o fear_n as_o job_n say_v it_o be_v that_o tyrant_n that_o make_v all_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n to_o tremble_v at_o he_o when_o death_n come_v it_o be_v terrible_a why_o because_o it_o strip_v we_o friend_n can_v part_v without_o grief_n how_o shall_v these_o bosom-friend_n these_o unite_a friend_n body_n and_o soul_n part_n without_o grief_n this_o marriage_n between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o body_n can_v be_v disunite_v without_o exquisite_a pain_n be_v old_a acquaintance_n again_o nature_n abhor_v death_n it_o hinder_v we_o of_o all_o employment_n it_o hinder_v of_o all_o service_n of_o god_n in_o church_n and_o commonwealth_n and_o so_o grace_v which_o employment_n be_v beyond_o nature_n do_v a_o little_a desire_n the_o continuance_n of_o life_n but_o nature_n even_o out_o of_o no_o sinful_a principle_n it_o see_v that_o now_o i_o can_v serve_v god_n no_o long_o i_o can_v do_v god_n no_o more_o service_n i_o can_v do_v good_a no_o long_o in_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o it_o take_v it_o to_o heart_n our_o savour_n say_v while_o you_o have_v light_a walk_v the_o night_n come_v when_o no_o man_n be_v able_a to_o work_v the_o night_n of_o sickness_n and_o death_n so_o
flesh_n be_v purge_v and_o the_o spirit_n strengthen_v and_o wean_n from_o the_o world_n be_v wrought_v and_o a_o desire_n to_o heaven_n by_o the_o daily_a cross_n we_o suffer_v as_o man_n not_o for_o religion_n we_o be_v much_o better_v and_o those_o in_o some_o sort_n may_v be_v call_v the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n because_o by_o they_o we_o be_v conform_v to_o christ_n more_o in_o holiness_n we_o grow_v more_o out_o of_o love_n with_o the_o world_n and_o more_o heavenly_a mind_v this_o distinction_n be_v necessary_a to_o know_v which_o be_v best_a the_o suffering_n of_o christian_n as_o good_a man_n it_o be_v a_o point_n i_o say_v of_o wondrous_a comfort_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v conformable_a christ._n in_o our_o suffering_n with_o our_o head_n christ_n jesus_n our_o glorify_a suffer_v in_o a_o good_a cause_n they_o be_v ensign_n of_o honour_n they_o be_v badge_n of_o honour_n of_o christian_a knighthood_n if_o a_o golden_a fleece_n or_o a_o garter_n or_o such_o thing_n be_v account_v so_o high_o of_o and_o glorify_v in_o because_o they_o be_v favour_n etc._n etc._n much_o more_o shall_v the_o suffering_n for_o christ_n be_v glorify_v in_o as_o ensign_n of_o the_o love_n god_n and_o of_o our_o christian_a profession_n when_o we_o fight_v under_o christ_n banner_n we_o be_v like_a to_o christ_n we_o be_v conformable_a to_o he_o he_o go_v before_o and_o we_o follow_v his_o step_n and_o if_o we_o suffer_v with_o he_o we_o shall_v be_v glorify_v with_o he_o therefore_o be_v not_o discourage_v that_o which_o we_o think_v to_o be_v matter_n of_o upon_o that_o i_o have_v say_v then_o this_o they_o be_v the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n we_o shall_v be_v many_o way_n encourage_v to_o suffer_v for_o he_o for_o do_v not_o he_o suffer_v for_o we_o that_o which_o if_o all_o the_o creature_n in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n have_v suffer_v they_o will_v have_v sink_v under_o it_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o what_o good_a have_v we_o by_o his_o we_o alone_o it_o be_v his_o cause_n and_o he_o will_v stand_v by_o his_o own_o cause_n he_o will_v maintain_v his_o own_o quarrel_n he_o will_v cause_v comfort_n to_o increase_v be_v it_o not_o a_o you_o partake_v of_o the_o suffering_n so_o you_o shall_v partake_v of_o the_o comfort_n though_o you_o feel_v it_o not_o for_o the_o present_a be_v it_o not_o a_o comfort_n for_o a_o patient_n to_o have_v his_o physician_n come_v to_o he_o christian_n who_o he_o know_v to_o be_v wise_a and_o speak_v by_o his_o book_n to_o say_v to_o he_o be_v of_o good_a comfort_n you_o shall_v never_o die_v
