and_o it_o may_v be_v that_o he_o have_v but_o small_a regard_n to_o be_v clear_v of_o his_o fault_n before_o god_n but_o he_o show_v the_o people_n this_o token_n of_o detestation_n if_o it_o may_v fall_v out_o that_o he_o may_v draw_v they_o to_o repent_v for_o their_o fury_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v thus_o behold_v you_o compel_v i_o to_o a_o unrighteous_a murder_n to_o the_o which_o i_o be_o bring_v with_o fear_n &_o horror_n therefore_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o you_o &_o what_o great_a vengeance_n of_o god_n do_v remain_v for_o you_o who_o be_v the_o chief_a author_n of_o it_o the_o first_o sight_n much_o trouble_v the_o sense_n of_o man_n if_o this_o reason_n be_v not_o consider_v that_o the_o punishment_n which_o be_v due_a to_o we_o be_v lay_v upon_o christ_n that_o the_o guiltiness_n be_v now_o take_v away_o we_o shall_v not_o doubt_v to_o come_v forth_o into_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o heavenly_a judge_n therefore_o the_o water_n which_o nothing_o prevail_v pilate_n for_o the_o wash_n away_o of_o his_o fault_n shall_v avail_v at_o this_o day_n to_o a_o other_o use_n that_o it_o may_v purge_v our_o eye_n from_o all_o impediment_n that_o thereby_o they_o may_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o damnation_n clear_o behold_v the_o righteousness_n of_o christ._n 25._o his_o blood_n be_v on_o we_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v doubt_v but_o that_o the_o jew_n careless_o of_o right_n or_o wrong_n the_o jew_n think_v that_o by_o kill_a christ_n they_o shall_v do_v god_n good_a service_n but_o whence_o come_v this_o wicked_a error_n but_o of_o their_o ungodly_a stubbornness_n &_o contempt_n of_o god_n himself_o wherefore_o they_o be_v worthy_o throw_v into_o this_o madness_n that_o they_o may_v purchase_v themselves_o their_o utter_a destruction_n but_o where_o the_o question_n be_v of_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o of_o his_o holy_a mystery_n let_v we_o learn_v to_o open_v our_o eye_n and_o reverent_o and_o sober_o seek_v to_o know_v the_o cause_n least_o hypocrisy_n &_o audaciousnes_n shall_v make_v we_o to_o be_v as_o amaze_a man_n without_o wit_n and_o as_o god_n never_o suffer_v this_o curse_a speech_n to_o come_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o people_n except_o their_o impiety_n have_v first_o be_v desperate_a so_o he_o do_v after_o just_o revenge_v the_o same_o by_o fearful_a and_o unwonted_a mean_n &_o yet_o by_o a_o incredible_a miracle_n he_o reserve_v some_o remnante_n to_o himself_o least_o that_o his_o covenant_n shall_v be_v extinguish_v by_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o whole_a nation_n he_o have_v adopt_v to_o himself_o the_o seed_n of_o abraham_n that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o choose_a nation_n a_o priestly_a kingdom_n a_o holy_a portion_n and_o
offer_v in_o the_o heavenly_a oracle_n do_v profit_v we_o nothing_o but_o now_o if_o by_o understanding_n we_o do_v not_o perceive_v what_o shall_v be_v right_a how_o shall_v our_o will_n be_v able_a to_o yield_v obedience_n therefore_o it_o must_v be_v grant_v that_o we_o be_v weak_a every_o way_n so_o that_o the_o heavenly_a doctrine_n be_v not_o otherwise_o profitable_a and_o effectual_a to_o we_o but_o so_o far_o as_o the_o spirit_n do_v frame_v our_o mind_n to_o understande_v the_o same_o and_o our_o heart_n to_o be_v subject_n to_o the_o yoke_n of_o the_o same_o and_o therefore_o that_o we_o may_v become_v sit_v disciple_n to_o he_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o all_o trust_n in_o our_o own_o wit_n be_v cast_v away_o to_o ask_v for_o light_n from_o heaven_n and_o also_o leave_v the_o foolish_a opinion_n of_o free_a will_n to_o deliver_v ourselves_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o god_n and_o it_o be_v not_o without_o a_o cause_n that_o paul_n in_o the_o first_o to_o the_o corrinthian_o the_o three_o chapter_n and_o the_o eighteen_o verse_n do_v command_v man_n to_o become_v foolish_a that_o they_o may_v be_v wise_a to_o god_n for_o the_o light_n of_o the_o spirit_n can_v be_v extinguish_v by_o a_o worse_a darkness_n then_o by_o trust_v to_o our_o own_o wit_n furthermore_o let_v the_o reader_n observe_v that_o the_o disciple_n have_v not_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o mind_n not_o so_o speedy_o appear_v yet_o it_o be_v not_o unprofitable_a for_o be_v lighten_v a_o new_a they_o also_o feel_v the_o profit_n of_o the_o former_a time_n for_o i_o do_v take_v that_o their_o mind_n be_v open_v not_o only_o that_o they_o may_v afterwards_o be_v apt_a to_o learn_v if_o any_o thing_n shall_v be_v teach_v they_o but_o that_o they_o may_v call_v to_o memory_n for_o their_o profit_n the_o doctrine_n hear_v before_o in_o vain_a furthermore_o that_o ignorance_n by_o the_o space_n of_o three_o year_n do_v teach_v we_o a_o profitable_a lesson_n that_o they_o obtain_v not_o this_o knowledge_n a_o new_a by_o any_o other_o mean_v then_o by_o the_o heavenly_a light_n add_v also_o that_o christ_n in_o this_o show_v a_o evident_a token_n of_o his_o godhead_n because_o that_o he_o be_v not_o only_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o outward_a voice_n which_o shall_v give_v a_o sound_n in_o the_o ear_n but_o by_o his_o secret_a power_n he_o pierce_v into_o the_o mind_n and_o so_o he_o declare_v that_o it_o belong_v to_o he_o alone_o which_o paul_n deni_v to_o the_o doctor_n of_o the_o church_n 1._o corrinthians_n 3._o 7._o yet_o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o the_o apostle_n be_v not_o so_o void_a and_o deprive_v of_o the_o light_n of_o understanding_n but_o that_o they_o know_v some_o few_o principle_n but_o because_o it_o be_v only_o a_o small_a taste_n voice_n vanish_v away_o as_o if_o it_o be_v dead_a yet_o notwythstandinge_v it_o make_v they_o inexcusable_a and_o as_o concern_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n they_o be_v gather_v of_o that_o principle_n it_o be_v necessary_a that_o what_o soever_o be_v write_v shall_v be_v fulfil_v because_o that_o god_n witness_v nothing_o by_o his_o prophet_n but_o that_o which_o he_o will_v certain_o else_o but_o the_o entrance_n into_o life_n but_o yet_o let_v we_o remember_v that_o life_n be_v promise_v unto_o all_o those_o who_o shall_v believe_v in_o christ_n so_o common_o that_o yet_o faith_n be_v not_o common_a unto_o all_o man_n for_o christ_n lie_v open_a unto_o all_o man_n yet_o god_n do_v only_o open_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o elect_a that_o they_o may_v seek_v he_o by_o faith_n furthermore_o herein_o appear_v the_o wonderful_a effect_n of_o faith_n because_o we_o do_v thereby_o receive_v christ_n as_o he_o be_v give_v we_o of_o the_o father_n namely_o that_o he_o may_v
