such_o a_o estate_n as_o be_v without_o comparison_n more_o excellent_a than_o that_o we_o receive_v now_o to_o bring_v we_o from_o death_n under_o which_o so_o mighty_a one_o hold_v we_o captive_a to_o such_o a_o life_n so_o unutterable_o glorious_a must_v needs_o be_v the_o work_n of_o a_o power_n almighty_a but_o here_o three_o thing_n be_v for_o further_a understanding_n of_o this_o point_n to_o be_v consider_v first_o in_o what_o stand_v that_o effectual_a help_n ☜_o see_v for_o the_o finish_n of_o this_o doctrine_n that_o which_o follow_v hereafter_o at_o this_o mark_n in_o the_o margin_n ☜_o by_o which_o we_o come_v unto_o god_n second_o in_o what_o order_n it_o do_v make_v we_o come_v to_o god_n whether_o immediate_o or_o by_o some_o preparation_n go_v before_o three_o whether_o it_o leave_v the_o will_n at_o liberty_n actual_o to_o resist_v it_o yea_o or_o no._n to_o the_o first_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o the_o effectual_a help_n which_o make_v we_o come_v to_o god_n by_o belief_n be_v the_o efficacy_n of_o god_n almighty_a power_n put_v forth_o to_o such_o purpose_n for_o so_o far_o as_o god_n do_v intend_v to_o work_v so_o far_o he_o put_v forth_o his_o omnipotent_a power_n to_o accomplish_v but_o god_n do_v intend_v to_o make_v some_o before_o othersome_a come_v unto_o he_o and_z ergo_fw-la he_o do_v stretch_v out_o the_o arm_n of_o his_o power_n to_o effect_v this_o in_o they_o nevertheless_o to_o speak_v more_o full_o though_o this_o be_v the_o principal_a it_o be_v not_o the_o sole_a cause_n in_o conversion_n we_o may_v then_o consider_v three_o cause_n first_o the_o principal_a viz._n this_o power_n second_o the_o instrumental_a both_o of_o the_o word_n sound_v in_o our_o ear_n and_o that_o inward_a illumination_n and_o inspiration_n wrought_v within_o we_o by_o which_o as_o a_o internal_a word_n god_n speak_v in_o the_o mind_n three_o a_o formal_a cause_n a_o free_a gracious_a disposition_n or_o habit_n of_o faith_n by_o which_o the_o will_n be_v incline_v agreeable_o to_o the_o disposition_n of_o it_o to_o come_v unto_o god_n so_o that_o the_o more_o full_a answer_n to_o this_o question_n viz._n what_o be_v all_o that_o effectual_a help_n whereby_o i_o come_v to_o god_n be_v this_o it_o be_v a_o mix_a thing_n stand_v partly_o of_o that_o almighty_a power_n of_o he_o put_v forth_o for_o my_o good_a partly_o of_o that_o word_n outward_a and_o inward_a by_o and_o with_o which_o his_o power_n be_v put_v forth_o partly_o in_o that_o spirit_n of_o faith_n and_o supernatural_a life_n which_o his_o almighty_a power_n through_o his_o word_n bring_v forth_o in_o my_o soul_n what_o be_v that_o help_n whereby_o christ_n make_v lazarus_n able_a to_o come_v to_o he_o out_o of_o the_o grave_n of_o natural_a death_n the_o principal_n be_v christ_n power_n almighty_a the_o instrumental_a his_o voice_n the_o formal_a cause_n immediate_o help_v to_o it_o or_o work_v it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o natural_a life_n which_o the_o power_n of_o christ_n by_o his_o word_n restore_v to_o this_o dead_a corpse_n which_o now_o be_v fall_v and_o thus_o you_o have_v the_o effectual_a help_n or_o grace_n by_o which_o we_o come_v actual_o to_o convert_v for_o that_o god_n power_n put_v forth_o to_o work_v good_a for_o we_o be_v a_o help_n give_v from_o his_o free_a grace_n or_o his_o free_a favour_n towards_o we_o can_v be_v doubt_v when_o the_o scripture_n every_o where_o make_v he_o our_o helper_n from_o his_o mere_a grace_n if_o we_o lend_v our_o arm_n or_o hand_n to_o help_v one_o be_v no_o way_n tie_v to_o it_o it_o be_v a_o help_n give_v from_o our_o free_a favour_n that_o his_o call_n inward_a or_o outward_a and_o habit_n of_o grace_n wrought_v in_o we_o may_v be_v fit_o call_v grace_n effectual_o helpful_a to_o the_o act_n bring_v forth_o by_o they_o none_o deni_v though_o all_o will_v not_o have_v habit_n needful_a to_o our_o first_o coversion_n and_o this_o first_o thing_n be_v well_o to_o be_v note_v for_o from_o hence_o we_o may_v gather_v in_o what_o stand_v the_o efficacy_n of_o grace_n effectual_a to_o conversion_n viz._n in_o god_n effectual_a power_n put_v forth_o to_o execute_v his_o intention_n which_o he_o have_v of_o convert_n some_o actual_o before_o othersome_a it_o do_v not_o stand_v in_o any_o congruity_n or_o temperature_n of_o grace_n correspondent_a to_o our_o nature_n for_o this_o do_v argue_v that_o there_o be_v inward_o a_o incorrupted_a a_o connaturall_a disposition_n to_o receive_v grace_n this_o make_v the_o effect_n of_o conversion_n to_o depend_v as_o much_o on_o the_o active_a capacity_n of_o the_o will_n as_o on_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n nay_o more_o for_o it_o make_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n work_v it_o moral_o his_o power_n and_o word_n work_v the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n in_o they_o and_o make_v they_o come_v to_o he_o thus_o god_n by_o affliction_n be_v say_v to_o boar_n the_o ear_n and_o to_o prepare_v to_o conversion_n when_o manasses_n be_v humble_v in_o great_a misery_n he_o seek_v the_o lord_n thus_o by_o conviction_n of_o sin_n they_o be_v prick_v in_o heart_n and_o say_v what_o shall_v we_o do_v to_o be_v save_v and_o then_o speedy_o receive_v the_o gospel_n believe_v sometime_o by_o extraordinary_a terror_n rise_v from_o external_a accident_n yea_o hide_a natural_a cause_n thus_o the_o to_o stand_v in_o this_o native_a flexibility_n which_o be_v inclinable_a hither_o or_o thither_o much_o less_o in_o liberty_n of_o exercise_v power_n to_o or_o fro_o as_o be_v herein_o by_o no_o power_n predetermine_v for_o first_o the_o will_n seem_v to_o be_v say_v free_a in_o regard_n of_o something_o no_o way_n bind_v but_o the_o indifferency_n of_o the_o inclination_n in_o exercise_n sense_n accidentality_n contingency_n necessity_n these_o be_v modality_n agree_v to_o effect_n as_o effect_n be_v in_o order_n to_o their_o second_o cause_n not_o to_o god_n who_o most_o certain_o necessary_o and_o wise_o have_v will_v they_o fire_n burn_v not_o necessary_o to_o god_n power_n who_o can_v at_o pleasure_n change_v it_o or_o restrain_v the_o second_o act_n of_o it_o nothing_o fall_v out_o accidental_o as_o refer_v to_o he_o who_o wise_a intention_n reach_v to_o every_o thing_n so_o for_o contigency_n also_o and_o liberty_n in_o the_o sense_n before_o name_v but_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v amiss_o to_o show_v some_o reason_n why_o this_o be_v to_o be_v reject_v 1._o that_o which_o exempt_v a_o creature_n from_o be_v as_o a_o instrument_n under_o the_o power_n of_o god_n be_v absurd_a but_o this_o do_v so_o it_o be_v prove_v thus_o that_o which_o give_v the_o creature_n a_o power_n to_o do_v as_o he_o will_v when_o god_n have_v do_v all_o he_o may_v unto_o he_o
