in_o any_o day_n of_o their_o life_n past_a which_o i_o humble_o beseech_v the_o lord_n to_o grant_v both_o to_o myself_o and_o they_o even_o for_o his_o christ_n sake_n the_o second_o part_n of_o this_o treatise_n contain_v a_o direction_n how_o to_o apply_v god_n promise_n to_o our_o particular_a occasion_n for_o the_o better_a understanding_n and_o practice_n of_o this_o duty_n of_o 2._o cor._n 4._o 17._o for_o our_o light_a affliction_n which_o be_v but_o for_o a_o moment_n work_v for_o we_o a_o far_o more_o exceed_a and_o eternal_a weight_n of_o glory_n thus_o may_v we_o behold_v god_n wise_a deal_n with_o his_o child_n in_o all_o his_o chastisement_n application_n application_n observe_v the_o fit_a season_n and_o just_a measure_n both_o for_o the_o quantity_n of_o the_o correction_n and_o for_o the_o continuance_n thereof_o all_o as_o be_v most_o agreeable_a to_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o patient_a &_o quality_n of_o the_o disease_n which_o if_o it_o be_v believe_v must_v needs_o in_o further_a degree_n make_v we_o content_v to_o bear_v the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o neither_o to_o fret_v at_o nor_o faint_a under_o any_o affliction_n which_o the_o lord_n so_o wise_o do_v order_n for_o our_o good_a every_o way_n and_o therefore_o so_o oft_o as_o we_o shall_v find_v any_o affliction_n to_o lie_v heavy_a upon_o we_o either_o for_o the_o greatness_n of_o it_o or_o long_a continuance_n in_o our_o feel_n so_o oft_o let_v we_o run_v to_o some_o of_o these_o promise_n wherein_o the_o lord_n assure_v we_o that_o he_o will_v lay_v no_o more_o upon_o we_o than_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o bear_v and_o will_v suffer_v no_o affliction_n to_o lie_v long_o upon_o we_o than_o shall_v be_v needful_a and_o for_o our_o good_a that_o thus_o rest_v upon_o god_n word_n we_o may_v weight_n god_n leisure_n for_o our_o ease_n and_o full_a deliverance_n for_o our_o better_a furtherance_n herein_o affliction_n god_n love_v deal_n with_o his_o in_o affliction_n we_o be_v to_o consider_v god_n love_v and_o tender_a deal_n with_o his_o child_n in_o all_o their_o affliction_n which_o be_v plentiful_o set_v set_v forth_o unto_o we_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n both_o by_o many_o comparison_n express_a testimony_n and_o example_n all_o little_a enough_o to_o hold_v we_o up_o from_o sink_v if_o the_o affliction_n seem_v great_a or_o fatherless_a 5._o psal_n 68_o 5._o and_o a_o judgâ—_n of_o the_o widow_n and_o psal_n 103._o 13._o like_a as_o a_o father_n pity_v his_o child_n so_o the_o lord_n pity_v they_o that_o fear_v he_o for_o he_o know_v our_o 〈◊〉_d he_o remember_v that_o we_o but_o dust_n yea_o more_o the_o prophet_n esay_n 49._o 13._o etc._n etc._n notable_o set_v out_o this_o comparison_n in_o god_n towards_o his_o afflict_a people_n say_v sing_v o_o heaven_n and_o be_v joyful_a o_o earth_n and_o break_v forth_o into_o sing_v o_o mountain_n for_o god_n have_v comfort_v his_o people_n and_o will_v have_v mercy_n on_o his_o afflict_a but_o zion_n say_v the_o lord_n have_v forsake_v i_o and_o my_o lord_n have_v forget_v i_o can_v a_o woman_n forsake_v her_o suck_a child_n that_o she_o shall_v not_o the_o bowel_n of_o a_o tender_a heart_a mother_n be_v move_v within_o she_o when_o she_o see_v her_o child_n in_o any_o peril_n so_o be_v the_o lord_n trouble_v to_o see_v his_o child_n in_o any_o extremity_n that_o he_o do_v as_o much_o pity_v they_o and_o be_v as_o ready_a to_o succour_v they_o as_o if_o his_o bowel_n be_v move_v within_o he_o 14_o mat._n 14._o 14_o which_o be_v in_o very_a deed_n so_o in_o our_o saviour_n christ_n in_o his_o humanity_n 34._o mark_v 1_o 41_o and_o 6._o 34._o as_o be_v *_o often_o testify_v of_o he_o in_o the_o holy_a story_n this_o shall_v yet_o more_o comfort_v we_o in_o all_o our_o affliction_n that_o he_o who_o be_v god_n over_o all_o of_o such_o infinite_a power_n to_o help_v both_o who_o he_o will_v and_o how_o and_o when_o it_o please_v he_o
