lust_n filthiness_n and_o ungodliness_n what_o be_v it_o to_o keep_v such_o a_o day_n as_o this_o and_o to_o rejoice_v in_o a_o carnal_a way_n for_o outward_a mercy_n when_o thou_o do_v not_o spiritual_o rejoice_v in_o the_o first_o place_n that_o god_n have_v free_v thou_o from_o the_o enemy_n of_o thy_o eternal_a salvation_n rejoice_v not_o only_o as_o a_o heathen_a may_v for_o national_a blessing_n but_o rejoice_v as_o a_o christian_a see_v god_n reconcile_v to_o thou_o in_o the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n let_v the_o joy_n of_o the_o resurrection_n both_o sweeten_v thy_o trouble_n and_o add_v spiritual_a fuel_n to_o the_o flame_n of_o thy_o joy_n for_o temporal_a mercy_n true_o we_o then_o rejoice_v in_o temporal_a thing_n and_o in_o creature-comfort_n and_o mercy_n aright_o when_o we_o rejoice_v in_o they_o in_o a_o spiritual_a way_n when_o we_o see_v all_o sweeten_v to_o we_o in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n therefore_o improve_v to_o the_o full_a this_o doctrine_n debt_n by_o this_o consideration_n in_o the_o first_o place_n it_o will_v be_v evident_a to_o every_o man_n who_o have_v any_o spiritual_a knowledge_n of_o the_o purity_n and_o justice_n of_o the_o law_n that_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o sinful_a man_n to_o find_v out_o any_o way_n but_o the_o good_a old_a way_n of_o grace_n to_o happiness_n and_o salvation_n second_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o grace_n that_o god_n may_v have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n man_n fall_v by_o pride_n therefore_o god_n will_v not_o estate_n he_o in_o happiness_n but_o by_o humble_v he_o by_o bring_v he_o upon_o his_o knee_n to_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n that_o he_o may_v have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n natural_o we_o be_v full_a of_o pride_n and_o will_v rise_v by_o that_o by_o which_o we_o fall_v we_o will_v be_v make_v happy_a by_o work_n as_o we_o be_v make_v unhappy_a by_o work_n every_o man_n that_o see_v himself_o see_v how_o that_o the_o whole_a stream_n of_o corrupt_a nature_n run_v this_o way_n man_n will_v be_v do_v work_a and_o act_v that_o he_o may_v be_v justify_v but_o god_n will_v not_o suffer_v sinful_a man_n to_o glory_n before_o he_o in_o his_o own_o work_n lest_o he_o shall_v loose_v the_o glory_n of_o grace_n rom._n 4.2_o and_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o salvation_n for_o we_o until_o we_o lie_v down_o at_o the_o door_n of_o grace_n if_o god_n enter_v as_o earthly_a and_o gross_a body_n can_v mount_v up_o to_o heaven_n which_o be_v a_o place_n of_o purity_n and_o perfection_n but_o they_o fall_v down_o by_o their_o own_o weight_n to_o the_o earth_n unable_a to_o ascend_v thither_o so_o our_o work_n fall_v down_o to_o the_o ground_n as_o unable_a to_o ascend_v up_o to_o the_o place_n of_o god_n purity_n and_o glory_n to_o justify_v we_o in_o his_o sight_n that_o salvation_n may_v be_v attribute_v only_o to_o his_o own_o grace_n and_o he_o will_v not_o justify_v we_o in_o the_o court_n of_o our_o own_o conscience_n we_o shall_v not_o read_v our_o name_n write_v in_o heaven_n till_o he_o bring_v we_o from_o our_o own_o work_n righteousness_n performance_n and_o endeavour_n to_o rest_v upon_o the_o strong_a arm_n of_o his_o grace_n that_o we_o may_v give_v he_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o our_o free_a justification_n and_o salvation_n three_o god_n save_v we_o by_o grace_n because_o if_o it_o be_v not_o by_o grace_n it_o have_v be_v needless_a that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n shall_v have_v be_v give_v to_o we_o if_o it_o have_v be_v possible_a for_o man_n to_o have_v wrought_v out_o his_o own_o salvation_n by_o his_o own_o work_n there_o have_v be_v no_o need_n that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n shall_v have_v disrobe_v himself_o of_o his_o glory_n and_o be_v make_v man_n like_o we_o why_o shall_v he_o do_v not_o love_v we_o for_o any_o thing_n in_o we_o there_o be_v nothing_o at_o all_o in_o we_o when_o god_n first_o love_v we_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v not_o like_o the_o love_n of_o man_n man_n love_v something_o which_o he_o see_v lovely_a but_o god_n see_v nothing_o in_o the_o object_n which_o he_o love_v but_o all_o the_o motive_n and_o argument_n lie_v in_o the_o bosom_n and_o breast_n of_o god_n which_o move_v he_o to_o love_v his_o creature_n man_n can_v love_v before_o he_o have_v some_o lovely_a object_n propose_v to_o he_o but_o god_n love_v before_o we_o have_v either_o be_v or_o holiness_n we_o believe_v in_o god_n love_v he_o and_o be_v make_v lovely_a before_o he_o in_o time_n because_o he_o love_v we_o before_o all_o time_n the_o man_n spiritual_o wise_a everlasting_a righteousness_n which_o we_o have_v in_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v jehovah_n our_o righteousness_n jer._n 23.6_o abraham_n when_o he_o believe_v and_o his_o faith_n be_v count_v unto_o his_o righteousness_n in_o its_o place_n yet_o he_o account_v it_o as_o nothing_o in_o comparison_n of_o that_o righteousness_n which_o he_o have_v in_o god_n and_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n and_o say_v with_o the_o psalmist_n psal_n 71.16_o i_o will_v go_v in_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n i_o will_v make_v mention_n of_o thy_o righteousness_n even_o of_o thy_o only_a he_o do_v not_o by_o this_o undervalue_n the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n he_o prize_v it_o above_o the_o world_n and_o all_o thing_n in_o it_o which_o carnal_a man_n do_v value_n at_o so_o high_a a_o rate_n but_o according_a to_o the_o mind_n of_o he_o who_o gift_n faith_n be_v he_o set_v the_o gift_n in_o his_o heart_n and_o esteem_v below_o he_o who_o be_v the_o giver_n of_o it_o he_o see_v salvation_n to_o be_v more_o from_o the_o giver_n of_o faith_n than_o faith_n itself_o he_o look_v upon_o faith_n not_o as_o the_o cause_n of_o justifi_a grace_n but_o look_v upon_o
