so_o be_v there_o no_o doubt_n now_o a_o day_n many_o that_o be_v forward_o and_o zealous_a in_o religion_n that_o yet_o do_v lack_v that_o strength_n of_o faith_n that_o peter_n have_v for_o though_o a_o number_n perhaps_o will_v run_v with_o mary_n to_o his_o sepulchre_n &_o to_o his_o disciple_n to_o talk_v of_o he_o yet_o who_o will_v venture_v to_o go_v into_o his_o grave_n or_o will_v throw_v himself_o into_o the_o sea_n in_o love_n to_o come_v to_o he_o as_o peter_n do_v now_o it_o follow_v they_o see_v and_o believe_v and_o why_o now_o more_o than_o before_o be_v it_o say_v they_o see_v and_o believe_v because_o as_o yet_o they_o know_v not_o the_o scripture_n that_o he_o must_v rise_v again_o from_o the_o dead_a lo_o here_o be_v a_o good_a excuse_n for_o the_o weakness_n of_o their_o faith_n but_o what_o excuse_n can_v be_v lay_v down_o for_o we_o nay_o what_o shame_n be_v it_o for_o we_o that_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o their_o truth_n see_v by_o they_o and_o write_v by_o they_o to_o we_o and_o for_o we_o that_o we_o will_v not_o read_v the_o holy_a scripture_n or_o read_v so_o little_o believe_v they_o or_o believe_v so_o little_a regard_n they_o that_o we_o may_v justly_o be_v say_v to_o be_v without_o either_o faith_n or_o love_n either_o to_o seek_v or_o find_v christ_n or_o almost_o to_o hear_v or_o think_v of_o he_o either_o in_o his_o word_n his_o sepulchre_n or_o his_o mercy_n but_o god_n for_o his_o mercy_n sake_n turn_v our_o heart_n and_o inspire_v our_o soul_n with_o the_o gracious_a power_n of_o his_o glorious_a holy_a spirit_n that_o run_v from_o the_o sink_n of_o sin_n we_o may_v come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o with_o mary_n sorrow_n johns_n love_n &_o peter_n faith_n we_o may_v rise_v early_o in_o the_o peter_n and_o come_v first_o to_o the_o sepulchre_n and_o he_o stoop_v down_o but_o go_v not_o in_o then_o come_v simon_n peter_n follow_v he_o and_o see_v the_o linen_n clothes_n lie_v and_o the_o kerchief_n that_o be_v upon_o his_o head_n etc._n etc._n then_o go_v in_o also_o the_o other_o disciple_n which_o come_v first_o and_o see_v and_o believe_v in_o these_o verse_n i_o note_v four_o chief_a point_n to_o be_v consider_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o go_v forth_o the_o cause_n of_o their_o run_n why_o the_o other_o disciple_n outrun_v peter_n &_o the_o cause_n why_o come_n first_o to_o the_o sepulchre_n he_o stoop_v down_o but_o go_v not_o in_o peter_n therefore_o go_v forth_o and_o the_o other_o disciple_n and_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n when_o mariâ—_n have_v tell_v they_o what_o she_o have_v see_v it_o be_v not_o say_v they_o present_o believe_v but_o they_o go_v forth_o for_o though_o she_o tell_v a_o truth_n yet_o they_o will_v see_v &_o they_o believe_v for_o it_o be_v say_v they_o go_v forth_o and_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n it_o shall_v seem_v and_o very_o likely_a that_o they_o have_v some_o remembrance_n of_o christ_n word_n speak_v before_o unto_o they_o touch_v his_o passion_n &_o resurrection_n the_o three_o day_n and_o therefore_o confer_v their_o memory_n with_o her_o word_n they_o be_v the_o ready_a to_o go_v forth_o to_o try_v the_o truth_n of_o her_o report_n now_o mary_n be_v a_o woman_n and_o so_o great_a a_o sinner_n as_o she_o have_v be_v it_o be_v likely_a she_o shall_v not_o obtain_v any_o great_a credit_n with_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n but_o truth_n in_o who_o mouth_n soever_o it_o be_v deserve_v well_o to_o be_v entertain_v and_o now_o the_o disciple_n not_o have_v any_o knowledge_n to_o the_o contrary_a will_v not_o stick_v at_o a_o little_a travail_n to_o try_v the_o truth_n of_o her_o speech_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v they_o go_v forth_o you_o see_v here_o she_o be_v not_o blame_v for_o her_o report_n nor_o do_v we_o find_v as_o yet_o she_o be_v believe_v but_o only_o approve_v so_o that_o hereby_o we_o be_v to_o learn_v what_o to_o report_v and_o always_o to_o tell_v truth_n and_o to_o try_v out_o a_o truth_n ere_o we_o give_v credit_n to_o a_o report_n but_o if_o the_o talk_n be_v of_o christ_n and_o the_o report_n from_o the_o faithful_a and_o that_o confer_v it_o with_o the_o scripture_n we_o find_v any_o likelihood_n of_o truth_n we_o must_v not_o regard_v who_o it_o be_v man_n or_o woman_n but_o go_v with_o they_o for_o their_o comfort_n to_o the_o trial_n of_o their_o cause_n it_o shall_v seem_v now_o they_o hear_v it_o of_o none_o but_o of_o mary_n for_o as_o it_o be_v say_v of_o none_o but_o of_o marie_n that_o come_v early_o to_o the_o sepulchre_n and_o from_o thence_o run_v to_o the_o disciple_n and_o tell_v they_o what_o she_o have_v see_v so_o it_o be_v not_o like_a that_o she_o have_v tell_v any_o but_o the_o disciple_n for_o if_o she_o have_v some_o or_o other_o will_v have_v be_v with_o the_o disciple_n before_o she_o or_o else_o have_v be_v at_o the_o sepulchre_n before_o she_o have_v reâ—ained_v with_o they_o â—ut_v the_o disciple_n not_o hear_v of_o it_o by_o any_o other_o as_o i_o say_v before_o call_v to_o memory_n some_o of_o christ_n speech_n deliver_v unto_o they_o before_o to_o try_v out_o the_o truth_n they_o go_v forth_o to_o my_o text_n peter_n therefore_o go_v forth_o and_o the_o other_o disciple_n and_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n what_o a_o encounter_n argument_n may_v this_o be_v to_o all_o man_n &_o woman_n to_o tell_v truth_n when_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n upon_o the_o report_n of_o mary_n will_v go_v forth_o with_o she_o &_o not_o return_v till_o they_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n we_o read_v that_o ananias_n &_o his_o wife_n be_v both_o strike_v dead_a for_o deny_v of_o their_o and_z lie_v to_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n yet_o here_o we_o see_v mary_n for_o tell_v of_o a_o truth_n accompany_v with_o the_o disciple_n unto_o the_o grave_n of_o christ_n learn_v therefore_o how_o dangerous_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v to_o lie_v unto_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n especial_o in_o name_v of_o christ_n the_o god_n of_o all_o truth_n and_o how_o gracious_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v in_o man_n or_o woman_n to_o come_v to_o the_o disciple_n with_o a_o truth_n or_o to_o inquire_v of_o any_o truth_n touch_v christ_n &_o thus_o much_o touch_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o disciple_n goinâ—_n forth_o and_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n now_o be_v it_o say_v here_o they_o run_v both_o but_o the_o other_o disciple_n out_o run_v peter_n a_o light_a belief_n will_v make_v many_o man_n and_o woman_n to_o run_v themselves_o out_o of_o breath_n to_o see_v a_o may_n game_n a_o bear-baiting_a or_o a_o bauble_n not_o worth_a the_o loâ—king_n after_o but_o here_o be_v no_o such_o report_n and_o therefore_o can_v be_v no_o such_o belief_n and_o therefore_o will_v to_o god_n the_o idle_a head_n of_o the_o world_n will_v turn_v their_o mind_n to_o better_a matter_n &_o leave_v such_o toy_n
as_o be_v bâ—t_a snare_n of_o the_o devil_n &_o harken_v unto_o the_o truth_n that_o may_v bring_v they_o to_o christ_n and_o rather_o be_v delight_v to_o talk_v with_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n holy_a word_n of_o the_o passion_n of_o christ_n &_o to_o seek_v he_o in_o his_o word_n than_o to_o run_v with_o wicked_a people_n to_o see_v a_o fool_n in_o a_o play_n but_o learn_v of_o marie_n what_o to_o say_v whither_o to_o go_v &_o what_o to_o do_v seek_v christ_n be_v instruct_v by_o his_o disciple_n and_o go_v with_o they_o to_o his_o sepulchre_n first_o learn_v to_o be_v mortify_v or_o else_o never_o look_v to_o be_v glorify_v now_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o other_o disciple_n who_o jesus_n love_v out_o run_v the_o other_o so_o that_o the_o very_a love_n in_o the_o spirit_n hereby_o that_o once_o enter_v into_o the_o way_n to_o christ_n we_o will_v even_o run_v to_o get_v to_o he_o at_o least_o if_o we_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o â—ame_n spirit_n that_o marie_n and_o the_o disciple_n be_v otherwise_o if_o once_o in_o the_o way_n we_o look_v back_o we_o shall_v ever_o be_v unworthy_a to_o find_v the_o path_n again_o to_o our_o comfort_n but_o to_o the_o former_a word_n so_o they_o run_v both_o but_o the_o other_o disciple_n outrun_v peter_n of_o all_o contention_n i_o find_v it_o the_o best_a to_o contend_v for_o the_o soul_n comfort_n &_o of_o all_o raze_n the_o best_a run_v to_o christ_n many_o run_v after_o their_o dog_n hurrt_v all_o day_n for_o a_o hare_n and_o perhaps_o go_v without_o she_o at_o night_n other_o run_v their_o horse_n for_o the_o â—ell_o we_o couâ—d_v &_o will_v so_o run_v &_o so_o talk_v as_o mary_n do_v that_o christ_n may_v be_v the_o delight_n of_o our_o talk_n &_o the_o end_n of_o our_o travail_n alas_o poor_a wretch_n that_o we_o be_v how_o vile_a &_o corrupt_a be_v this_o nature_n of_o we_o that_o we_o be_v so_o blind_a that_o we_o can_v or_o so_o blind_v that_o we_o will_v not_o see_v the_o way_n that_o lead_v we_o to_o in_o idleness_n or_o loose_v the_o whole_a year_n in_o wantonness_n or_o in_o all_o wicked_a &_o filthy_a beastliness_n spend_v the_o whole_a time_n of_o our_o year_n rather_o than_o travail_v one_o mile_n nay_o step_v one_o foot_n or_o stay_v onâ—_n minute_n either_o to_o talk_v of_o christ_n or_o come_v to_o his_o disciple_n we_o will_v run_v to_o a_o play_n where_o perhaps_o we_o may_v have_v our_o purse_n pick_v or_o to_o football_n where_o we_o may_v have_v our_o shin_n break_v or_o to_o a_o fray_n where_o we_o may_v have_v our_o head_n break_v or_o a_o worse_a matter_n but_o to_o come_v to_o christ_n our_o spiritual_a treasure_n our_o creator_n redeemer_n our_o peace_n health_n and_o soul_n chirurgen_v who_o will_v run_v or_o be_v almosâ—_n willing_a to_o stir_v a_o foot_n but_o here_o it_o be_v say_v his_o disciple_n run_v and_o sure_o who_o will_v be_v his_o disciple_n must_v run_v or_o else_o it_o be_v so_o far_o a_o walk_n that_o they_o will_v hardly_o ever_o come_v to_o he_o now_o as_o it_o be_v think_v peter_n be_v the_o elder_a and_o not_o so_o light_a of_o the_o body_n yet_o such_o be_v his_o love_n that_o it_o be_v say_v they_o run_v both_o so_o that_o old_a and_o young_a must_v run_v now_o mark_v further_o what_o i_o gather_v in_o these_o two_o run_v together_o peter_n be_v old_a and_o faithful_a the_o other_o in_o his_o love_n either_o bashful_a or_o fearful_a for_o it_o be_v say_v when_o he_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n he_o stoop_v down_o and_o see_v the_o linen_n clothes_n lie_v but_o go_v not_o in_o see_v here_o the_o excellent_a care_n of_o this_o disciple_n either_o bashfulness_n that_o be_v the_o young_a he_o shall_v presume_v to_o go_v in_o before_o the_o elder_a or_o to_o avoid_v a_o vain_a glory_n of_o boldness_n without_o advice_n or_o fear_v to_o offend_v to_o go_v in_o without_o counsel_n it_o be_v say_v he_o stoop_v down_o &_o see_v the_o linen_n clothes_n but_o go_v not_o in_o note_v here_o a_o excellent_a warning_n for_o young_a head_n that_o be_v either_o zealous_a in_o religion_n or_o learn_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o learn_v by_o this_o disciple_n how_o to_o run_v to_o christ_n let_v they_o take_v their_o elder_n with_o they_o and_o do_v nothing_o without_o they_o or_o their_o advice_n and_o if_o they_o come_v to_o any_o perfection_n yet_o let_v they_o give_v place_n to_o their_o elder_n in_o any_o thing_n that_o may_v bring_v they_o to_o christ_n for_o so_o do_v the_o belove_a of_o god_n the_o disciple_n here_o speak_v of_o again_o here_o we_o may_v note_v a_o excellent_a agreement_n between_o they_o though_o john_n outrun_v peter_n yet_o he_o stay_v for_o he_o at_o the_o sepulchre_n &_o seem_v not_o angry_a â—or_a say_v any_o thing_n to_o he_o for_o his_o sow_n come_v nor_o laugh_v at_o he_o for_o his_o stiff_a run_v but_o that_o he_o stay_v and_o go_v not_o in_o neither_o do_v i_o find_v that_o peter_n be_v angry_a with_o his_o outrunning_n of_o he_o nor_o smile_v at_o his_o fear_n as_o it_o shall_v seem_v of_o his_o stay_n that_o he_o dare_v not_o go_v in_o till_o he_o come_v for_o be_v lead_v both_o by_o the_o power_n of_o one_o spirit_n they_o guess_v thus_o far_o each_o of_o other_o mind_n love_n be_v of_o most_o force_n to_o bring_v he_o to_o the_o sepulchre_n but_o say_v make_v peter_n more_o valiant_a to_o go_v in_o into_o the_o sepulchre_n yet_o no_o doubt_n but_o they_o both_o have_v faith_n and_o both_o have_v love_n or_o else_o mary_n report_n have_v not_o make_v they_o run_v so_o fast_o thither_o for_o the_o commendation_n of_o the_o one_o what_o can_v be_v say_v more_o of_o faith_n then_o that_o which_o christ_n himself_o say_v unto_o peter_n upon_o his_o confession_n of_o he_o to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o the_o live_a god_n upon_o that_o rock_n he_o will_v build_v his_o church_n and_o for_o the_o other_o what_o more_o proof_n of_o his_o love_n unto_o any_o creature_n live_v than_o in_o the_o revelation_n of_o his_o divine_a will_n as_o in_o the_o perhaps_o may_v doubt_v many_o thing_n that_o the_o graâ—e_n may_v be_v close_v when_o he_o be_v in_o for_o his_o presumption_n in_o go_v in_o without_o authority_n &_o yet_o not_o be_v forbid_v at_o
