apostle_n write_v some_o of_o they_o have_v resist_v the_o gospel_n and_o put_v it_o from_o they_o by_o unbelief_n other_o have_v embrace_v it_o who_o the_o apostle_n here_o call_v brethren_n and_o before_o ver_fw-la 1._o holy_a brethren_n partaker_n of_o the_o heavenly_a call_n in_o charity_n so_o still_v they_o who_o in_o visible_a profession_n have_v receive_v and_o follow_v the_o doctrine_n doctrine_n of_o antichrist_n such_o forsake_v the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o saint_n go_v from_o god_n and_o his_o church_n leap_v out_o of_o the_o ark_n into_o perdition_n 2_o by_o leave_v the_o practice_n of_o religion_n and_o godliness_n when_o man_n profess_v their_o assent_n unto_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o article_n of_o faith_n and_o so_o retain_v the_o form_n of_o godliness_n but_o deny_v the_o power_n of_o it_o be_v disobedient_a and_o wicked_a in_o their_o life_n when_o man_n keep_v their_o faith_n and_o have_v lose_v their_o conscience_n they_o can_v sometime_o have_v say_v and_o have_v do_v too_o but_o now_o they_o can_v talk_v hear_v &_o study_v about_o religion_n but_o while_o their_o ear_n tongue_n and_o brain_n be_v busy_v their_o heart_n and_o their_o hand_n be_v idle_a both_o these_o be_v apostate_n from_o god_n equal_o &_o alike_o there_o be_v not_o the_o dust_n of_o the_o balance_n to_o boot_v between_o the_o worth_n of_o a_o true_a believer_n and_o a_o false_a believer_n if_o both_o be_v wicked_a liver_n a_o honest_a infidel_n will_v hold_v weight_n with_o a_o wicked_a christian._n and_o a_o sober_a papist_n be_v as_o good_a as_o a_o drunken_a protestant_n nay_o better_o inasmuch_o as_o it_o be_v better_a to_o glorify_v god_n what_o way_n soever_o though_o in_o a_o false_a faith_n then_o to_o dishonour_v his_o holy_a name_n wherewith_o we_o way_n with_o every_o wind_n of_o false_a doctrine_n raise_v up_o by_o our_o own_o foolish_a fancy_n or_o by_o the_o device_n and_o craftiness_n of_o man_n lie_v in_o wait_n to_o delude_v us._n 2_o all_o commandment_n of_o god_n touch_v our_o holy_a practice_n together_o with_o all_o the_o threaten_n if_o we_o do_v not_o obey_v and_o promise_n if_o we_o do_v now_o these_o thing_n be_v partly_o and_o vile_a affection_n natural_o we_o all_o love_n liberty_n &_o choose_v rather_o the_o loss_n of_o life_n then_o of_o it_o and_o only_a violence_n &_o fraud_n can_v bring_v we_o or_o keep_v we_o these_o promise_n they_o shall_v see_v manifest_o accomplish_v short_o after_o they_o come_v into_o the_o land_n of_o canaan_n for_o now_o they_o be_v in_o the_o wilderness_n when_o this_o precept_n be_v give_v they_o and_o therefore_o they_o have_v reason_n to_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v be_v as_o good_a as_o his_o word_n in_o this_o promise_n for_o their_o defence_n as_o he_o will_v be_v for_o their_o plantation_n in_o that_o country_n hence_o the_o point_n be_v trial_n in_o one_o thing_n shall_v cause_n trust_v in_o god_n for_o all_o other_o matter_n of_o these_o in_o order_n 1_o that_o none_o shall_v be_v a_o loose_a by_o his_o obedience_n to_o god_n for_o confirmation_n of_o this_o truth_n observe_v these_o reason_n r._n 1_o the_o first_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o truth_n and_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n in_o as_o many_o promise_n as_o he_o have_v make_v in_o the_o scripture_n set_v forth_o his_o abundant_a reward_n of_o faithful_a obedience_n it_o be_v a_o endless_a thing_n to_o name_n unto_o you_o all_o or_o the_o most_o of_o these_o promise_n i_o shall_v therefore_o only_o direct_v you_o to_o the_o serious_a meditation_n upon_o these_o scripture_n deut._n 28._o psal._n 37_o and_o 128._o wherein_n whatsoever_o be_v good_a for_o the_o soul_n the_o body_n the_o estate_n the_o name_n the_o posterity_n of_o man_n all_o be_v promise_v to_o they_o that_o fear_v god_n and_o obey_v his_o commandment_n in_o all_o which_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o true_a to_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v if_o we_o be_v careful_a to_o obey_v r._n 2._o the_o second_o be_v from_o his_o mercy_n and_o bounty_n wherein_o he_o be_v rich_a unto_o all_o and_o above_o all_o to_o such_o as_o fear_v and_o obey_v he_o by_o which_o mean_v god_n provide_v as_o for_o his_o own_o glory_n so_o for_o our_o singular_a inconragement_n in_o his_o service_n he_o will_v not_o have_v his_o servant_n to_o complain_v that_o they_o serve_v a_o hard_a master_n one_o that_o do_v ill_o provide_v for_o the_o advancement_n and_o welfare_n of_o his_o servant_n that_o his_o service_n be_v of_o much_o hazard_n full_a of_o trouble_n molestation_n and_o painfulness_n but_o of_o little_a profit_n and_o comfort_n this_o be_v a_o dishonour_n to_o god_n wherefore_o god_n will_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o he_o command_v not_o over_o we_o for_o our_o hurt_n nor_o make_v use_n of_o our_o service_n without_o a_o bountiful_a reward_n for_o our_o labour_n if_o he_o bid_v we_o do_v any_o thing_n it_o be_v that_o we_o may_v gain_v by_o it_o as_o well_o as_o himself_o his_o glory_n and_o our_o happiness_n go_v both_o together_o nay_o be_v there_o ever_o any_o
