lest_o a_o too_o long_a course_n of_o felicity_n shall_v make_v we_o become_v remiss_a and_o luxuriant_a for_o do_v we_o make_v a_o right_a use_n of_o our_o enjoyment_n we_o shall_v never_o be_v terrify_v or_o deject_v with_o affliction_n they_o will_v be_v only_o as_o gentle_a chastisement_n to_o incite_v and_o quicken_v our_o diligence_n but_o not_o abate_v our_o courage_n or_o stop_v we_o in_o our_o way_n to_o happiness_n but_o the_o case_n of_o most_o of_o we_o be_v far_o different_a we_o forget_v god_n in_o our_o prosperity_n and_o in_o our_o adversity_n complain_v of_o he_o do_v we_o look_v back_o to_o the_o cause_n of_o his_o anger_n and_o not_o only_o consider_v the_o effect_n of_o it_o we_o shall_v see_v great_a reason_n to_o acknowledge_v the_o justice_n of_o his_o providence_n and_o that_o we_o alone_o have_v do_v wicked_o and_o that_o all_o his_o judgement_n be_v righteous_a for_o if_o we_o have_v not_o be_v sufficient_o thankful_a for_o the_o goodness_n of_o providence_n to_o we_o why_o shall_v we_o repine_v if_o it_o try_v other_o method_n to_o reduce_v we_o to_o obedience_n and_o a_o acknowledgement_n of_o god_n sovereignty_n over_o we_o how_o can_v we_o say_v that_o god_n have_v forget_v to_o be_v
i_o confine_v my_o hope_n to_o the_o next_o life_n i_o shall_v be_v but_o little_a concern_v at_o what_o may_v happen_v to_o i_o in_o this_o shall_v i_o lose_v my_o friend_n and_o relation_n one_o of_o the_o great_a support_v and_o comfort_n of_o this_o life_n yet_o i_o shall_v be_v fortify_v against_o it_o i_o know_v i_o must_v lose_v they_o or_o they_o me._n what_o matter_n it_o who_o go_v the_o course_n of_o nature_n we_o may_v have_v do_v nay_o rather_o be_v it_o not_o much_o more_o preferable_a to_o be_v deliver_v out_o of_o this_o troublesome_a passage_n to_o obtain_v a_o immortal_a life_n how_o happy_a then_o will_v that_o state_n be_v wherein_o we_o can_v only_o be_v say_v proper_o to_o live_v for_o what_o we_o call_v life_n here_o say_v tully_n be_v only_a death_n nor_o do_v the_o mind_n true_o live_v till_o release_v from_o the_o clog_n and_o fetter_n of_o the_o body_n it_o enjoy_v eternity_n we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o think_v death_n and_o evil_n but_o rather_o and_o peace_n hereafter_o if_o therefore_o we_o be_v bear_v and_o live_v miserable_a and_o die_v bless_v who_o will_v not_o rather_o choose_v to_o be_v make_v happy_a by_o be_v disunite_v from_o this_o body_n than_o to_o live_v under_o a_o constant_a oppression_n of_o misery_n we_o be_v all_o of_o we_o weary_a of_o life_n why_o shall_v we_o be_v afraid_a to_o die_v if_o suffering_n and_o affliction_n be_v uneasy_a and_o burdensome_a to_o we_o why_o shall_v we_o be_v un_o willing_a to_o welcome_v that_o which_o be_v the_o best_a remedy_n for_o they_o and_o that_o it_o be_v design_v as_o a_o token_n of_o god_n favour_n and_o kindness_n to_o we_o seem_v plain_a by_o his_o frequent_a call_n away_o the_o best_a soon_o from_o this_o to_o a_o better_a state_n thereby_o to_o free_v they_o from_o all_o the_o evil_n and_o calamity_n which_o this_o life_n be_v liable_a to_o and_o also_o to_o teach_v we_o that_o stay_v behind_o to_o be_v neither_o too_o fond_a of_o this_o life_n nor_o afraid_a of_o death_n which_o heaven_n have_v bestow_v as_o a_o blessing_n upon_o those_o who_o be_v best_a prepare_v for_o it_o and_o this_o show_v we_o that_o god_n be_v not_o only_o just_a in_o appoint_v death_n to_o all_o man_n but_o that_o his_o wisdom_n and_o goodness_n eminent_o appear_v in_o it_o since_o it_o be_v so_o much_o for_o the_o advantage_n of_o mankind_n to_o exchange_v this_o imperfect_a and_o troublesome_a condition_n for_o that_o most_o durable_a and_o perfect_a prepare_v for_o we_o in_o the_o heaven_n hence_o we_o may_v learn_v the_o vast_a disproportion_n between_o this_o life_n and_o the_o other_o for_o be_v not_o the_o next_o life_n infinite_o better_o than_o this_o god_n will_v not_o so_o soon_o remove_v those_o to_o that_o other_o state_n who_o miserable_a or_o be_v we_o displease_v that_o they_o be_v bless_v by_o death_n while_o we_o be_v encumber_v and_o trouble_v with_o life_n if_o we_o be_v not_o what_o be_v it_o that_o make_v we_o impatient_a at_o their_o be_v deliver_v from_o all_o those_o danger_n and_o adversity_n those_o sorrow_n and_o vexation_n which_o they_o have_v here_o every_o moment_n experience_n of_o if_o the_o story_n which_o be_v tell_v we_o of_o some_o of_o the_o heathen_n weep_v at_o the_o birth_n of_o their_o child_n and_o rejoice_v at_o their_o death_n as_o look_v upon_o one_o the_o beginning_n and_o our_o duty_n and_o not_o only_o give_v we_o the_o best_a rule_n to_o direct_v we_o but_o also_o encourage_v we_o with_o the_o most_o certain_a promise_n of_o far_o great_a and_o more_o durable_a reward_n than_o any_o other_o religion_n can_v pretend_v to_o it_o be_v a_o great_a disgrace_n and_o scandal_n to_o our_o profession_n that_o notwithstanding_o we_o have_v great_a expectation_n and_o large_a assistance_n in_o all_o our_o necessity_n yet_o to_o be_v outdo_v by_o heathen_n in_o a_o principal_a part_n of_o our_o duty_n they_o see_v the_o defect_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o the_o be_v sensible_a to_o be_v expect_v in_o death_n than_o in_o the_o mean_a and_o imperfect_a satisfaction_n of_o life_n of_o the_o one_o they_o have_v already_o sufficient_a experience_n and_o since_o they_o find_v in_o themselves_o a_o natural_a desire_n after_o happiness_n they_o conclude_v that_o either_o that_o desire_n be_v implant_v in_o they_o in_o vain_a or_o else_o it_o must_v be_v expect_v in_o the_o other_o life_n this_o at_o least_o they_o be_v certain_a of_o that_o this_o life_n be_v a_o burden_n to_o they_o and_o therefore_o those_o be_v to_o be_v account_v most_o happy_a who_o be_v soon_o release_v from_o the_o misery_n of_o it_o if_o reason_n can_v go_v so_o far_o by_o its_o own_o strength_n what_o may_v not_o we_o expect_v from_o it_o when_o it_o be_v improve_v by_o the_o advantage_n of_o revelation_n which_o not_o only_o lead_v we_o to_o the_o cause_n and_o original_a of_o our_o misery_n and_o show_v we_o from_o whence_o they_o spring_v but_o also_o teach_v we_o how_o to_o subdue_v our_o inordinate_a passion_n which_o still_o foment_n they_o in_o we_o by_o lay_v before_o we_o the_o great_a help_n and_o assistance_n we_o shall_v find_v if_o we_o use_v our_o best_a endeavour_n to_o overcome_v they_o and_o that_o if_o we_o patient_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o the_o hand_n of_o providence_n it_o will_v order_v all_o thing_n for_o our_o good_a and_o make_v even_a death_n itself_o the_o beginning_n of_o a_o immortal_a life_n to_o we_o and_o translate_v we_o to_o those_o happy_a mansion_n which_o we_o shall_v inhabit_v for_o ever_o with_o these_o who_o we_o so_o dear_o esteem_v and_o who_o make_v even_o this_o troublesome_a life_n while_o here_o almost_o pleasant_a and_o desirable_a to_o we_o what_o joy_n will_v it_o be_v to_o meet_v embrace_z and_o converse_v with_o our_o friend_n and_o realtion_n who_o will_v be_v then_o we_o for_o ever_o what_o great_a motive_n have_v we_o then_o patient_o to_o bear_v our_o trouble_n and_o suffering_n consider_v the_o recompense_n of_o the_o reward_n hereafter_o but_o some_o perhaps_o may_v say_v they_o can_v bear_v with_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o friend_n be_v they_o satisfy_v of_o their_o happiness_n in_o the_o other_o world_n to_o this_o we_o may_v answer_v that_o it_o do_v not_o belong_v to_o we_o to_o search_v into_o the_o hide_a counsel_n of_o god_n we_o be_v teach_v to_o have_v charity_n for_o all_o man_n
