persecute_v be_v any_o way_n able_a to_o imagine_v and_o much_o less_o to_o believe_v that_o the_o church_n which_o persecute_v he_o be_v serious_a in_o her_o profession_n of_o thanks_o unto_o god_n for_o her_o own_o freedom_n when_o she_o be_v no_o soon_o free_v herself_o but_o she_o bring_v other_o into_o the_o same_o hardship_n and_o servitude_n that_o she_o herself_o do_v but_o a_o little_a while_n since_o great_o complain_v of_o and_o groan_n under_o but_o leave_v these_o thing_n to_o be_v most_o serious_o consider_v by_o all_o protestant_a church_n in_o these_o three_o kingdom_n and_o elsewhere_o even_o by_o all_o whosoever_o they_o concern_v i_o shall_v now_o proceed_v to_o give_v in_o this_o place_n a_o description_n of_o the_o absurd_a ridiculous_a and_o contemptible_a ground_n and_o foundation_n on_o which_o the_o papist_n build_v though_o nothing_o be_v more_o evident_a than_o this_o that_o the_o thraldom_n or_o bondage_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v principal_o consist_v in_o the_o disagreeableness_n of_o her_o doctrine_n to_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o scripture_n yet_o nevertheless_o it_o be_v matter_n of_o fact_n that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v not_o in_o plain_a and_o express_v term_n deny_v the_o truth_n or_o deny_v the_o authority_n of_o the_o scripture_n or_o deny_v the_o end_n of_o they_o as_o they_o be_v appoint_v for_o the_o church_n and_o if_o we_o can_v for_o this_o cause_n just_o charge_v she_o with_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n then_o we_o must_v necessary_o grant_v that_o the_o say_v doctrine_n so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v corrupt_v and_o have_v a_o real_a inconsistency_n with_o the_o scripture_n itself_o can_v have_v their_o rise_n at_o first_o not_o otherwise_o than_o by_o virtue_n of_o her_o authority_n as_o a_o church_n and_o consequent_o that_o as_o they_o have_v thus_o their_o rise_n at_o first_o so_o they_o have_v have_v their_o whole_a maintenance_n and_o support_n ever_o since_o no_o otherwise_o than_o as_o this_o authority_n be_v absolute_a and_o arbitrary_a have_v defend_v they_o against_o whatever_o may_v be_v say_v from_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o scripture_n in_o opposition_n to_o they_o and_o therefore_o here_o we_o shall_v lay_v open_a her_o shame_n and_o nakedness_n and_o her_o great_a absurdity_n that_o lie_v in_o the_o manner_n and_o method_n and_o

have_v be_v charge_v upon_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n by_o reason_n of_o her_o persecution_n by_o our_o reformer_n first_o and_o by_o many_o worthy_a man_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n since_o be_v just_o charge_v upon_o she_o or_o it_o be_v not_o but_o if_o that_o gild_n be_v real_a and_o that_o it_o be_v just_o charge_v upon_o the_o say_a church_n it_o be_v apparent_o criminal_a two_o way_n first_o as_o she_o through_o her_o persecution_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o that_o hypocrisy_n dissimulation_n and_o apostasy_n which_o man_n commit_v for_o mere_a fear_n of_o she_o and_o by_o which_o though_o out_o of_o weakness_n they_o do_v great_o wrong_v their_o own_o conscience_n and_o great_o injure_v their_o former_a profession_n before_o god_n and_o know_v they_o do_v so_o and_o lie_v ofttimes_o under_o trouble_n of_o conscience_n all_o their_o life_n afterward_o for_o it_o and_o second_o she_o be_v equal_o guilty_a as_o she_o be_v the_o cause_n by_o reason_n of_o her_o persecution_n of_o the_o suffering_n distress_n and_o great_a affliction_n which_o many_o particular_a person_n and_o many_o family_n groan_v under_o by_o which_o she_o occasion_n many_o solemn_a complaint_n cry_n and_o appeal_v to_o be_v make_v unto_o god_n which_o man_n who_o be_v conscious_a to_o themselves_o of_o their_o sincerity_n towards_o god_n do_v pour_v out_o to_o he_o as_o the_o righteous_a judge_n of_o all_o person_n and_o if_o this_o be_v the_o gild_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o if_o we_o as_o protestant_n when_o we_o write_v against_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n of_o their_o principle_n through_o weakness_n to_o the_o extreme_a injury_n and_o wrong_n of_o their_o conscience_n and_o be_v the_o express_a cause_n of_o the_o sigh_n suffering_n groan_n and_o complaint_n of_o divers_a other_o that_o be_v pour_v out_o in_o the_o very_a bitterness_n of_o their_o soul_n unto_o god_n and_o when_o the_o say_v protestant_a church_n or_o the_o rule_v clergy_n rather_o of_o it_o shall_v have_v no_o sense_n at_o all_o of_o the_o evil_a of_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n nor_o seem_v to_o be_v in_o the_o least_o move_v or_o concern_v for_o they_o these_o thing_n be_v consider_v the_o question_n be_v whether_o any_o man_n that_o be_v rational_a can_v draw_v any_o other_o conclusion_n from_o they_o but_o that_o the_o say_v protestant_a church_n or_o the_o rule_v clergy_n of_o it_o do_v not_o believe_v themselves_o at_o all_o when_o they_o write_v against_o the_o papist_n for_o these_o thing_n and_o that_o notwithstanding_o they_o do_v threaten_v the_o church_n of_o rome_n with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n because_o of_o their_o cruelty_n and_o of_o their_o persecution_n of_o man_n for_o their_o conscience_n sake_n yet_o they_o do_v indeed_o but_o laugh_v in_o their_o sleeve_n at_o it_o and_o do_v not_o believe_v any_o such_o thing_n as_o that_o the_o direful_a judgement_n of_o god_n shall_v come_v upon_o any_o either_o for_o cruelty_n or_o for_o persecution_n of_o other_o for_o conscience_n sake_n or_o for_o be_v the_o occasion_n of_o many_o man_n sin_v against_o and_o wound_v of_o their_o own_o conscience_n but_o that_o when_o they_o not_o a_o incredible_a thing_n for_o any_o man_n to_o think_v that_o the_o protestant_a clergy_n shall_v do_v the_o very_a same_o thing_n which_o they_o express_o declare_v and_o acknowledge_v to_o be_v heinous_a offence_n and_o crime_n against_o god_n in_o their_o adversary_n the_o church_n of_o rome_n if_o they_o do_v real_o believe_v themselves_o in_o what_o they_o usual_o write_v when_o they_o threaten_v they_o with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o for_o the_o say_a thing_n if_o to_o avoid_v this_o which_o they_o perhaps_o may_v look_v upon_o as_o some_o imputation_n or_o
