restraint_n of_o it_o not_o kill_v of_o it_o a_o cessation_n not_o mortification_n so_o it_o be_v often_o in_o this_o trouble_n of_o mind_n which_o arise_v from_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n because_o a_o man_n find_v not_o those_o doubt_n and_o fear_n and_o terror_n in_o his_o heart_n which_o he_o have_v wont_a therefore_o present_o he_o think_v all_o be_v well_o when_o as_o it_o may_v be_v but_o mere_o a_o truce_n not_o a_o peace_n a_o lay_v down_o of_o arm_n only_o for_o a_o while_n to_o make_v great_a preparation_n against_o the_o soul_n afterward_o a_o reprivall_n and_o a_o little_a enlargement_n in_o prison_n not_o a_o pardon_n if_o this_o be_v all_o the_o issue_n of_o it_o that_o you_o may_v further_o conceive_v the_o meaning_n of_o this_o in_o one_o that_o be_v god_n child_n and_o in_o a_o wicked_a man_n though_o both_o may_v be_v and_o be_v trouble_v in_o mind_n and_o conscience_n yet_o there_o be_v a_o main_a difference_n both_o in_o the_o main_a cause_n of_o their_o trouble_n and_o also_o in_o the_o issue_n and_o removal_n of_o their_o trouble_n a_o wicked_a man_n trouble_n be_v for_o the_o anguish_n and_o present_a smart_n he_o feel_v in_o sin_n and_o in_o god_n wrath_n lash_v his_o conscience_n and_o out_o of_o fear_n that_o his_o sin_n will_v not_o be_v pardon_v but_o that_o he_o shall_v endure_v these_o torture_n for_o ever_o in_o hell_n so_o it_o be_v in_o judas_n cain_n and_o many_o other_o but_o a_o godly_a man_n trouble_n though_o it_o have_v often_o all_o this_o in_o it_o yet_o the_o chief_a of_o his_o trouble_n be_v a_o further_a thing_n it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o smart_n the_o sting_n of_o sin_n but_o also_o the_o filth_n the_o fowlnesse_n the_o offence_n of_o it_o do_v to_o god_n that_o wound_v he_o for_o he_o have_v a_o heart_n after_o god_n heart_n and_o therefore_o look_v on_o sin_n with_o the_o same_o kind_n of_o eye_n that_o god_n do_v and_o as_o god_n account_v the_o offence_n do_v to_o he_o the_o great_a evil_n in_o sin_n so_o do_v a_o godly_a heart_n also_o it_o be_v not_o the_o sting_n of_o this_o serpent_n only_o but_o the_o poison_n of_o it_o that_o disquiet_v he_o neither_o be_v it_o only_o the_o want_n of_o pardon_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n everlasting_a wrath_n which_o main_o trouble_v he_o but_o the_o want_n of_o god_n favour_n the_o part_n with_o he_o who_o he_o see_v so_o excellent_a and_o glorious_a the_o want_n of_o see_v his_o face_n his_o desire_n be_v to_o live_v in_o his_o sight_n and_o to_o have_v god_n to_o be_v his_o god_n now_o such_o as_o the_o wound_n be_v such_o also_o be_v the_o remedy_n therefore_o the_o one_o be_v but_o trouble_v with_o the_o sting_n the_o smart_n of_o sin_n pull_v but_o that_o sting_n out_o take_v that_o load_n off_o and_o he_o be_v well_o enough_o as_o jocund_a as_o pleasant_a as_o ever_o it_o be_v present_a ease_n that_o he_o seek_v and_o to_o that_o end_n confess_v his_o sin_n and_o do_v any_o thing_n for_o the_o present_a to_o come_v out_o of_o it_o as_o pharaoh_n exod._n 10._o 17._o take_v away_o this_o death_n only_o or_o at_o the_o utmost_a his_o aim_n be_v but_o pardon_n of_o sin_n and_o peace_n with_o god_n that_o even_o as_o poor_a soul_n under_o popery_n when_o they_o be_v sting_v by_o the_o friar_n sermon_n they_o set_v they_o penance_n and_o good_a deed_n to_o be_v do_v which_o still_v they_o awhile_o &_o for_o they_o they_o think_v they_o shall_v have_v pardon_n so_o man_n run_v now_o to_o holy_a duty_n but_o with_o the_o same_o opinion_n that_o they_o do_v then_o as_o bribe_n for_o a_o pardon_n what_o shall_v i_o give_v say_v he_o in_o micah_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o my_o soul_n 7._o micah_n 6._o 7._o but_o now_o the_o wound_n of_o god_n child_n be_v deep_a not_o the_o sting_n of_o sin_n only_o but_o the_o poison_n of_o it_o not_o the_o smart_n but_o the_o offence_n do_v to_o god_n nor_o the_o fear_n of_o his_o wrath_n but_o want_v of_o his_o favour_n therefore_o according_o ease_v from_o those_o terror_n pacify_v not_o he_o no_o not_o simple_o peace_n with_o god_n will_v content_v he_o or_o a_o pardon_n he_o say_v not_o only_o oh_o miserable_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o this_o death_n only_o but_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o this_o body_n of_o death_n if_o news_n be_v bring_v he_o that_o god_n will_v pardon_v he_o and_o not_o call_v he_o to_o reckon_n for_o any_o sin_n and_o no_o more_o be_v speak_v to_o his_o conscience_n he_o will_v still_o be_v trouble_v till_o he_o have_v assurance_n of_o his_o good_a will_v also_o compliment_n of_o his_o father_n when_o he_o be_v banish_v from_o he_o to_o express_v the_o true_a desire_n &_o great_a trouble_n of_o a_o soul_n in_o this_o case_n as_o you_o have_v it_o 2_o sam._n
