chew_v it_o in_o thy_o mind_n until_o thou_o find_v thyself_o so_o ready_a and_o prompt_a in_o it_o that_o if_o thou_o be_v oppose_v in_o any_o part_n of_o the_o history_n of_o the_o passion_n thou_o may_v be_v able_a to_o answer_v to_o it_o &_o declare_v it_o perfect_o and_o to_o this_o it_o shall_v help_v thou_o often_o to_o exercise_v thyself_o in_o meditation_n of_o christ_n passion_n also_o to_o this_o manner_n it_o do_v apperteine_a to_o call_v to_o thy_o remembrance_n according_a to_o that_o which_o thou_o have_v read_v or_o learn_v by_o book_n or_o preach_v that_o whatsoever_o thou_o see_v in_o thy_o contemplation_n thy_o saviour_n to_o have_v suffer_v they_o be_v before_o figure_v and_o foreshowen_v by_o many_o holy_a prophet_n and_o so_o thou_o shall_v know_v and_o well_o perceive_v that_o the_o truth_n of_o that_o thou_o go_v about_o to_o meditate_v do_v answer_n to_o the_o old_a figure_n and_o ancient_a prophecy_n the_o which_o shall_v minister_v great_a cause_n of_o consolation_n and_o more_o confirm_v thou_o in_o faith_n and_o also_o chase_v and_o drive_v away_o all_o other_o fancy_n which_o distract_v the_o mind_n and_o make_v the_o same_o more_o attentive_a and_o benâ—_n to_o the_o matter_n in_o meditation_n and_o so_o this_o shall_v be_v as_o a_o beginning_n to_o pass_v further_o to_o the_o other_o consideration_n ¶_o a_o declaration_n of_o the_o second_o manner_n of_o meditation_n which_o be_v by_o way_n of_o compassion_n the_o second_o manner_n of_o meditation_n upon_o the_o bless_a passion_n which_o be_v by_o way_n of_o compassion_n be_v more_o acceptable_a to_o our_o lord_n and_o that_o be_v to_o endeavour_n to_o travel_v in_o sorrow_n and_o grief_n with_o he_o and_o it_o be_v also_o no_o less_o profitable_a for_o we_o for_o that_o as_o saint_n paul_n say_v if_o we_o will_v suffer_v with_o christ_n we_o shall_v also_o reign_v together_o with_o christ_n in_o this_o kind_a the_o matter_n of_o meditation_n be_v so_o plentiful_a and_o copious_a that_o it_o shall_v be_v long_o to_o write_v or_o meditate_v the_o same_o at_o large_a and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v suffice_v to_o consider_v therein_o two_o point_n to_o the_o which_o the_o other_o may_v be_v reduce_v that_o be_v use_v for_o that_o purpose_n to_o be_v consider_v of_o the_o first_o be_v to_o consider_v the_o person_n that_o suffer_v the_o second_o to_o holy_a ghost_n the_o most_o beautiful_a body_n that_o ever_o be_v see_v among_o man_n the_o most_o gracious_a sweet_a humble_a meek_a â—oving_a with_o all_o other_o excellency_n more_o than_o can_v be_v think_v and_o touch_v the_o soul_n in_o he_o be_v the_o fullness_n of_o grace_n of_o charity_n of_o holiness_n of_o all_o other_o noble_a virtue_n and_o heavenly_a gift_n in_o more_o high_a degree_n then_o ever_o be_v communicate_v to_o any_o creature_n and_o this_o such_o and_o so_o mighty_a a_o lord_n do_v suffer_v be_v most_o innocent_a without_o any_o fault_n or_o sin_n more_o thereby_o against_o his_o eternal_a father_n who_o he_o above_o all_o other_o thing_n love_v and_o desire_v to_o honour_n the_o which_o do_v gréeve_v and_o torment_v he_o more_o than_o all_o those_o outward_a torment_n second_o he_o sorrow_v for_o the_o unkindness_n and_o unthankfulnes_n of_o man_n and_o chief_a christian_n for_o who_o he_o give_v his_o life_n and_o offer_v himself_o to_o so_o great_a and_o bitter_a pain_n and_o yet_o he_o see_v they_o will_v not_o endeavour_n nor_o begin_v to_o know_v nor_o esteem_v or_o care_n to_o help_v themselves_o with_o so_o great_a and_o
