but_o we_o see_v this_o reckon_v among_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o miracle_n which_o those_o apostle_n have_v power_n give_v they_o to_o do_v in_o those_o time_n of_o the_o first_o preach_v and_o plant_v of_o the_o gospel_n to_o win_v the_o great_a credit_n unto_o it_o agreeable_o whereunto_o it_o be_v say_v that_o they_o go_v forth_o and_o preach_v every_o where_o 20._o the_o lord_n work_v with_o they_o and_o confirm_v the_o word_n with_o sign_n follow_v but_o beside_o that_o it_o be_v thus_o reckon_v among_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o miracle_n the_o effect_n or_o event_n do_v also_o declare_v it_o to_o be_v miraculous_a because_o as_o many_o as_o be_v in_o those_o day_n anoint_v by_o they_o be_v heal_v as_o the_o text_n itself_o affirm_v 6.13_o now_o can_v or_o do_v popist_n priest_n in_o like_a sort_n in_o these_o day_n by_o their_o anoint_v with_o oil_n cure_n and_o heal_v the_o sick_a and_o disease_a as_o they_o in_o the_o primitive_a and_o apostolic_a church_n invocation_n and_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n join_v with_o it_o and_o therefore_o in_o the_o next_o word_n he_o show_v that_o prayer_n be_v add_v and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o prayer_n of_o faith_n that_o do_v preserve_v or_o save_v the_o sick_a and_o that_o recover_v and_o raise_v he_o up_o again_o what_o then_o be_v there_o in_o all_o this_o to_o prove_v this_o unction_n or_o the_o anoint_v with_o oil_n to_o be_v a_o sacrament_n be_v it_o because_o in_o this_o heal_n there_o be_v use_v a_o external_a ceremony_n or_o a_o outward_a visible_a sign_n but_o it_o be_v before_o show_v that_o that_o be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o make_v a_o sacrament_n yea_o then_o may_v the_o cure_n of_o the_o disease_a by_o the_o water_n of_o the_o pool_n of_o bethesda_n joh_n 5.2_o miraculous_a and_o extraordinary_a power_n of_o heal_v be_v now_o long_o since_o cease_v and_o because_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n miraculous_a and_o extraordinary_a and_o be_v not_o ordinary_a and_o perpetual_a it_o
therefore_o can_v be_v no_o sacrament_n for_o who_o be_v he_o at_o this_o day_n that_o have_v this_o miraculous_a gift_n of_o heal_v the_o sick_a by_o anoint_v they_o with_o oil_n i_o popish_a priest_n have_v it_o it_o will_v appear_v in_o their_o extreme_a unction_n and_o annointing_n but_o no_o such_o thing_n appear_v for_o what_o sick_a man_n do_v they_o recover_v or_o restore_v to_o health_n by_o that_o mean_n yea_o they_o use_v not_o this_o their_o unction_n and_o annoyl_v but_o when_o the_o sick_a party_n lie_v in_o extremity_n of_o sickness_n and_o be_v no_o way_n likely_a to_o recover_v and_o indeed_o most_o usual_o die_v notwithstanding_o these_o their_o annointing_n and_o whatsoever_o else_o they_o do_v three_o the_o sacrament_n whereof_o we_o speak_v be_v such_o as_o be_v common_a and_o appliable_a to_o all_o the_o member_n of_o christ_n aswell_o when_o they_o be_v well_o and_o in_o health_n as_o at_o other_o time_n but_o this_o their_o extreme_a unction_n belong_v and_o be_v apply_v only_o to_o those_o that_o be_v sick_a and_o at_o such_o time_n as_o they_o be_v in_o their_o extreme_a sickness_n and_o therefore_o it_o can_v be_v no_o sacrament_n four_o they_o use_v this_o form_n of_o word_n in_o it_o by_o this_o anoint_v and_o his_o most_o holy_a mercy_n god_n do_v forgive_v thou_o whatsoever_o thou_o have_v offend_v by_o see_v hear_v smell_a taste_v and_o touch_v whereby_o appear_v that_o they_o make_v this_o their_o extreme_a unction_n to_o extend_v but_o only_o to_o such_o sin_n as_o the_o man_n have_v commit_v by_o see_v hear_v smell_a taste_v &_o touch_v that_o be_v to_o say_v by_o those_o his_o exterior_a five_o sense_n but_o those_o that_o be_v true_a sacrament_n indeed_o as_o be_v evident_a by_o baptism_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v not_o so_o particular_o limit_v or_o restrain_v but_o be_v sacrament_n to_o a_o faithful_a and_o godly_a man_n of_o the_o full_a remission_n and_o forgiveness_n of_o all_o sin_n commit_v ex_fw-la opere_fw-la operato_fw-la even_o by_o the_o very_a work_n do_v and_o perform_v whereas_o it_o be_v not_o in_o very_a deed_n the_o external_a water_n in_o baptism_n administer_v that_o have_v this_o power_n and_o virtue_n in_o it_o to_o take_v away_o sin_n or_o to_o cleanse_v and_o purge_v they_o neither_o be_v it_o the_o consecrate_a bread_n and_o wine_n in_o the_o lord_n supper_n that_o have_v this_o power_n and_o virtue_n in_o it_o for_o so_o to_o suppose_v and_o imagine_v be_v to_o attribute_v that_o to_o the_o outward_a sign_n or_o sacrament_n which_o right_o and_o proper_o belong_v to_o christ_n jesus_n 1.3_o inasmuch_o as_o he_o only_o be_v the_o lamb_n of_o god_n that_o take_v away_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o world_n and_o it_o be_v his_o blood_n only_o that_o cleanse_v we_o from_o all_o sin_n as_o s._n john_n express_o witness_v and_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o scripture_n accord_n for_o which_o cause_n it_o be_v again_o say_v in_o the_o revel_n of_o s._n john_n that_o it_o be_v christ_n 1.5_o that_o have_v wash_v we_o from_o our_o sin_n in_o his_o blood_n see_v then_o it_o be_v christ_n and_o his_o blood_n only_o that_o wash_v purge_v and_o cleanse_v in_o very_a deed_n and_o material_o from_o all_o sin_n the_o water_n in_o baptism_n administer_v must_v not_o have_v this_o power_n and_o virtue_n attribute_v unto_o it_o nor_o also_o the_o consecrate_a bread_n and_o wine_n in_o the_o lord_n supper_n receive_v you_o will_v then_o demand_v why_o or_o in_o what_o sense_n it_o be_v that_o in_o the_o scripture_n the_o water_n in_o baptism_n be_v say_v to_o cleanse_v to_o sanctify_v to_o regenerate_v i_o answer_v that_o it_o be_v say_v so_o to_o do_v not_o that_o it_o have_v these_o virtue_n enclose_v in_o it_o 3.5_o or_o do_v these_o thing_n efficient_o or_o material_o but_o for_o that_o it_o do_v they_o sacramental_o and_o significative_o that_o be_v to_o say_v in_o plain_a term_n because_o the_o water_n in_o baptism_n be_v a_o
