can_v possible_o declare_v what_o a_o white_a thing_n be_v but_o by_o conceive_v and_o express_v what_o be_v whiteness_n nor_o what_o a_o proud_a man_n be_v but_o by_o understand_v what_o pride_n be_v nor_o what_o a_o hypocrite_n be_v but_o by_o know_v what_o be_v hypocrisy_n and_o again_o we_o must_v understand_v that_o virtue_n and_o vice_n do_v not_o denominate_v their_o subject_n unless_o they_o be_v in_o they_o in_o so_o high_a a_o degree_n as_o to_o prevail_v and_o be_v predominant_a over_o their_o contrary_n as_o nothing_o be_v call_v white_a but_o that_o in_o which_o whiteness_n so_o prevail_v that_o it_o partake_v more_o of_o white_a than_o of_o any_o other_o colour_n and_o if_o a_o thing_n do_v so_o partake_v of_o whiteness_n we_o call_v it_o white_a though_o it_o fail_v christ_n in_o this_o meaning_n as_o we_o now_o take_v the_o word_n hypocrite_n in_o opposition_n to_o a_o sound_a member_n of_o christ_n second_o there_o must_v be_v in_o that_o subject_n a_o adjunct_n that_o vice_n of_o hypocrisy_n and_o three_o this_o vice_n must_v be_v in_o that_o subject_n in_o such_o degree_n as_o to_o bear_v to_o rule_v and_o to_o be_v as_o they_o term_v it_o predominant_a wherefore_o for_o our_o further_a information_n in_o this_o matter_n which_o be_v most_o exceed_o needful_a to_o be_v very_o distinct_o know_v and_o conceive_v of_o we_o must_v search_v into_o the_o nature_n of_o that_o crooked_a viz._n what_o hypocrisy_n be_v viz._n selfe-covering_a and_o selfe-cousening_a vice_n of_o hypocrisy_n about_o which_o we_o need_v not_o go_v far_o but_o alone_o turn_v our_o thought_n to_o the_o apostle_n description_n of_o it_o 3.5_o 2._o tim._n 3.5_o viz._n that_o it_o be_v a_o form_n of_o godliness_n without_o the_o power_n thereof_o it_o a_o false_a feign_a goodness_n a_o goodness_n alone_o paint_v and_o put_v on_o and_o counterfeit_v in_o plain_a word_n thus_o you_o may_v describe_v it_o a_o corruption_n of_o the_o will_n sake_n a_o corruption_n of_o the_o will_n incline_v itself_o to_o do_v some_o good_a &_o leave_v some_o evil_n for_o one_o own_o sake_n whereby_o it_o incline_v itself_o to_o seem_v good_a by_o do_v some_o good_a and_o leave_v some_o evil_n for_o one_o own_o sake_n for_o every_o man_n be_v natural_o desirous_a to_o have_v other_o man_n esteem_v he_o good_a and_o to_o esteem_v of_o himself_o also_o as_o
