believe_v the_o gospel_n he_o declare_v there_o be_v a_o way_n find_v out_o for_o pardon_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o what_o can_v so_o kind_o and_o sweet_o excite_v or_o stir_v up_o sinner_n to_o repentance_n as_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o infinite_a mercy_n and_o pardon_v grace_n of_o god_n through_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o jesus_n christ_n his_o mercy_n only_o melt_v and_o break_v the_o hard_a heart_n of_o guilty_a criminal_n 3._o to_o preach_v the_o combination_n and_o threaten_n of_o god_n wrath_n and_o vengeance_n against_o all_o ungodly_a and_o impenitent_a sinner_n who_o slight_a and_o neglect_v the_o salvation_n of_o the_o gospel_n can_v be_v no_o legal_a doctrine_n 1._o because_o the_o gospel_n abound_v with_o they_o yea_o and_o more_o fearful_a threaten_n than_o those_o be_v under_o the_o law_n for_o the_o one_o be_v threat_n of_o temporal_a punishment_n but_o the_o other_o be_v eternal_a even_o the_o denunciation_n of_o god_n wrath_n in_o hell_n for_o ever_o 2._o because_o of_o the_o greatness_n of_o that_o mercy_n and_o divine_a grace_n and_o goodness_n which_o such_o who_o sin_n under_o the_o gospel_n do_v abuse_v and_o tread_v under_o their_o foot_n 3._o to_o show_v the_o justice_n headship_n and_o authority_n of_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v god_n as_o well_o as_o man_n that_o so_o all_o man_n may_v stand_v in_o awe_n of_o he_o and_o dread_a and_o fear_v he_o because_o of_o his_o great_a love_n and_o goodness_n extend_v through_o his_o suffering_n for_o sin_n and_o endure_v the_o heavy_a wrath_n of_o god_n for_o we_o and_o for_o many_o other_o reason_n which_o you_o have_v hear_v 4._o because_o the_o threaten_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o only_o render_v god_n as_o a_o just_a revenger_n but_o also_o as_o a_o merciful_a redeemer_n not_o only_o as_o a_o judge_n to_o pass_v sentence_n but_o as_o a_o gracious_a sovereign_n ready_a to_o give_v forth_o pardon_v to_o all_o convict_a break_a and_o self-condemned_n rebel_n the_o law_n threaten_v death_n but_o afford_v no_o offer_n of_o life_n on_o any_o term_n that_o can_v be_v attain_v to_o therefore_o no_o encouragement_n give_v by_o it_o to_o sinner_n to_o humble_v themselves_o it_o command_v perfect_a obedience_n but_o afford_v no_o strength_n to_o perform_v it_o pronounce_v the_o sentence_n against_o we_o but_o produce_v no_o pardon_n for_o we_o it_o command_v we_o to_o trust_v in_o god_n but_o reveal_v not_o a_o mediator_n who_o be_v the_o immediate_a object_n of_o faith_n and_o trust_n 5._o the_o threaten_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v a_o manifestation_n of_o god_n how_o be_v gospel-threatning_n mix_v with_o allure_a motive_n and_o endear_n argument_n and_o persuasion_n intimate_v how_o ready_a god_n be_v to_o pass_v by_o our_o offence_n if_o we_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o he_o and_o accept_v of_o the_o offer_v of_o his_o grace_n and_o favour_n if_o such_o preach_n of_o wrath_n therefore_o be_v legal_a i_o must_v acknowledge_v my_o great_a ignorance_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n beside_o how_o long_o be_v the_o threaten_n of_o the_o gospel_n defer_v before_o execute_v the_o contemner_n of_o the_o law_n die_v present_o as_o well_o as_o man_n able_a perfect_o to_o keep_v the_o law_n if_o so_o why_o do_v the_o apostle_n say_v 3._o what_o the_o law_n can_v not_o do_v in_o that_o it_o be_v weak_a through_o the_o flesh_n god_n send_v his_o son_n etc._n etc._n beside_o if_o there_o have_v be_v a_o law_n that_o can_v have_v give_v life_n very_o say_v paul_n righteousness_n shall_v have_v be_v by_o the_o law_n and_o again_o he_o say_v by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n no_o man_n be_v 21._o justify_v and_o if_o righteousness_n come_v by_o the_o law_n then_o be_v christ_n dead_a in_o vain_a christ_n it_o seem_v by_o what_o be_v a_o index_n and_o mark_n of_o our_o justification_n though_o we_o can_v own_v that_o use_n of_o its_o give_v right_o &c._n &c._n but_o to_o proceed_v say_v he_o a_o distinct_a law_n they_o must_v hold_v or_o quit_v their_o cause_n or_o this_o foundation_n of_o it_o for_o the_o text_n set_v the_o law_n of_o faith_n down_o as_o a_o opposite_a law_n to_o that_o of_o work_n and_o that_o they_o hold_v then_o if_o it_o be_v a_o perfect_a law_n require_v perfect_a obedience_n there_o be_v no_o possibility_n of_o justification_n in_o this_o life_n poppius_n the_o arminian_n grant_v the_o conclusion_n that_o our_o obedience_n must_v be_v consummate_a before_o our_o assurance_n and_o other_o distinguish_v between_o a_o complete_a and_o partial_a justification_n the_o former_a be_v not_o indeed_o a_o conditional_a hell_n but_o it_o be_v more_o dreadful_a than_o the_o fire_n of_o hell_n and_o the_o condition_n be_v more_o impossible_a because_o we_o have_v less_o power_n to_o shun_v this_o difficulty_n of_o two_o perfect_a law_n mr._n bull_n own_v no_o other_o perfect_a law_n but_o this_o gospel_n since_o man_n fall_v but_o by_o shun_v one_o difficulty_n he_o fall_v into_o two_o
