partake_v of_o they_o or_o be_v careless_a as_o to_o the_o manner_n of_o our_o partake_n baptism_n when_o we_o rather_o whole_o omit_v it_o or_o too_o long_o defer_v it_o or_o make_v it_o only_o a_o matter_n of_o fashion_n and_o custom_n and_o compliment_n and_o formality_n and_o not_o improve_n of_o it_o to_o those_o end_n for_o which_o it_o be_v first_o intend_v it_o be_v a_o contemn_v and_o a_o dispose_n of_o the_o great_a love_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n in_o the_o justification_n of_o it_o and_o provide_v it_o for_o our_o sake_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n when_o we_o come_v careless_o to_o it_o not_o discern_v ourselves_o not_o discern_v the_o lord_n body_n but_o eat_v and_o drink_v unworthy_o it_o be_v a_o contemn_v of_o such_o a_o divine_a ordinance_n as_o that_o indeed_o be_v it_o be_v a_o say_n that_o the_o table_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v contemptible_a and_o so_o a_o profane_v of_o god_n himself_o who_o yet_o will_v be_v sanctify_v in_o all_o those_o that_o draw_v near_o unto_o he_o in_o malach._n 1.7.12_o and_o levit._n 10.3_o again_o for_o the_o sabbath_n which_o be_v another_o ordinance_n of_o god_n and_o keep_v up_o the_o life_n of_o all_o the_o to_o his_o disesteem_a in_o those_o which_o be_v guilty_a of_o it_o and_o that_o be_v one_o explication_n of_o it_o wherein_o wicked_a man_n do_v contemn_v god_n they_o contemn_v god_n in_o his_o ordinance_n in_o his_o word_n and_o sacrament_n and_o sabbath_n second_o in_o his_o providence_n they_o contemn_v he_o also_o here_o they_o take_v no_o notice_n of_o god_n in_o his_o deal_n and_o dispensation_n in_o the_o world_n whether_o in_o a_o way_n of_o favour_n or_o wrath._n for_o favour_n they_o slight_v he_o in_o his_o mercy_n and_o for_o wrath_n they_o regard_v he_o not_o in_o his_o do_v not_o understand_v they_o that_o know_v not_o the_o worth_n of_o any_o person_n they_o be_v apt_a to_o contemn_v he_o and_o so_o indeed_o it_o be_v in_o regard_n of_o god_n therefore_o do_v the_o wicked_a contemn_v he_o because_o they_o do_v not_o know_v he_o and_o according_o be_v so_o describe_v in_o scripture_n by_o such_o as_o have_v not_o the_o knowledge_n of_o he_o they_o know_v not_o the_o lord_n familiarity_n it_o breed_v contempt_n and_o so_o it_o be_v here_o thou_o think_v i_o be_v altogether_o such_o a_o one_o as_o thyself_o say_v god_n to_o the_o wicked_a man_n in_o ps_n 50.21_o wicked_a man_n have_v very_o strange_a notion_n and_o conceit_n and_o apprehension_n of_o god_n in_o his_o attribute_n especial_o as_o to_o his_o justice_n and_o severity_n and_o omniscience_n escape_v in_o their_o contemn_v of_o he_o but_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o pay_v for_o it_o soon_o or_o late_a first_o from_o the_o inequality_n of_o it_o in_o reference_n to_o god_n he_o do_v not_o deserve_v it_o there_o be_v many_o person_n who_o sometime_o be_v contemn_v and_o they_o may_v thank_v themselves_o for_o it_o as_o giving_z too_o much_o ground_n and_o occasion_n for_o it_o from_o their_o own_o behaviour_n there_o be_v that_o in_o their_o own_o person_n and_o carriage_n which_o do_v expose_v they_o and_o lay_v they_o open_v to_o contempt_n but_o there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n in_o god_n in_o any_o hand_n to_o be_v suppose_v or_o imagine_v he_o have_v no_o such_o thing_n upon_o he_o as_o among_o man_n be_v occasion_n of_o contempt_n as_o undertake_v more_o than_o he_o can_v do_v assume_v more_o than_o belong_v unto_o he_o enjoy_v more_o than_o he_o can_v manage_v partake_v of_o more_o than_o he_o deserve_v these_o be_v such_o thing_n as_o render_v man_n contemptible_a but_o for_o god_n there_o be_v no_o shadow_n or_o appearance_n at_o all_o of_o these_o in_o he_o and_o so_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n for_o the_o contemn_v of_o he_o second_o as_o it_o be_v very_o unequal_a so_o it_o be_v also_o very_o unsafe_a there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o danger_n in_o it_o for_o those_o that_o contemn_v he_o he_o will_v contemn_v they_o again_o and_o he_o even_n look_v at_o the_o inward_a frame_n and_o temper_n of_o their_o spirit_n more_o than_o any_o thing_n else_o which_o be_v considerable_a in_o that_o and_o if_o that_o be_v not_o such_o as_o it_o shall_v be_v he_o have_v no_o reckon_v or_o esteem_n of_o they_o as_o such_o who_o be_v little_o better_o herein_o than_o the_o devil_n himself_o take_v the_o devil_n himself_o and_o if_o he_o be_v to_o live_v here_o in_o humane_a shape_n upon_o earth_n he_o will_v not_o be_v a_o common_a drunkard_n or_o swearer_n or_o whoremaster_n or_o rant_a person_n but_o will_v in_o a_o manner_n scorn_v such_o kind_n of_o brutish_a and_o swinish_a sin_n as_o those_o as_o which_o will_v not_o be_v so_o much_o for_o his_o advantage_n no_o but_o he_o will_v be_v rather_o a_o secret_a envyer_n and_o underminer_n of_o the_o power_n of_o religion_n he_o will_v oppose_v and_o hinder_v goodness_n and_o piety_n all_o he_o can_v he_o will_v scoff_n and_o mock_v at_o christianity_n and_o the_o principle_n of_o it_o and_o do_v his_o utmost_a endeavour_n to_o draw_v man_n from_o the_o entertain_n of_o it_o all_o this_o and_o the_o like_a he_o will_v do_v in_o a_o fair_a outward_a and_o heart_n of_o it_o we_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o have_v the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o this_o love_n of_o christ_n more_o upon_o our_o soul_n and_o to_o be_v well_o settle_v and_o establish_v in_o it_o which_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n paul_n do_v so_o much_o pray_v for_o in_o reference_n to_o the_o ephesian_n that_o they_o be_v root_v and_o ground_v in_o love_n may_v be_v able_a to_o comprehend_v with_o all_o saint_n what_o be_v the_o breadth_n and_o length_n and_o height_n and_o depth_n and_o may_v know_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n that_o pass_v knowledge_n ephes_n 3.16_o 17_o etc._n etc._n to_o know_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v sensible_o and_o experimental_o in_o themselves_o by_o the_o power_n and_o virtue_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shed_v it_o abroad_o in_o their_o heart_n as_o it_o be_v in_o rom._n 5.5_o this_o be_v know_v and_o discern_v by_o such_o note_n aâ—_n be_v most_o proper_a and_o peculiar_a to_o it_o we_o may_v know_v that_o christ_n have_v love_v we_o according_a to_o that_o which_o he_o have_v do_v for_o we_o and_o especial_o do_v in_o we_o by_o change_v of_o our_o nature_n and_o by_o infuse_v of_o his_o grace_n into_o we_o there_o be_v many_o who_o think_v that_o christ_n love_v they_o because_o he_o cast_v outward_a blessing_n upon_o they_o in_o a_o way_n of_o common_a providence_n but_o alas_o these_o will_v not_o serve_v the_o turn_n to_o assure_v we_o of_o his_o love_n he_o may_v do_v as_o much_o as_o this_o for_o such_o person_n as_o to_o who_o he_o will_v one_o day_n say_v i_o know_v you_o not_o no_o but_o we_o must_v make_v good_a his_o love_n from_o matter_n of_o a_o high_a nature_n which_o be_v from_o that_o care_n which_o he_o have_v wrought_v in_o we_o to_o serve_v he_o and_o to_o keep_v his_o commandment_n this_o be_v the_o best_a discovery_n and_o trial_n of_o his_o love_n then_o may_v we_o probable_o conclude_v that_o christ_n do_v love_v we_o when_o he_o have_v persuade_v we_o to_o love_v he_o which_o we_o can_v do_v in_o good_a earnest_n without_o his_o love_n first_o fasten_v upon_o our_o soul_n we_o love_v he_o because_o he_o first_o love_v we_o not_o only_o as_o the_o
