from_o the_o false_a prophet_n to_o the_o people_n and_o from_o some_o of_o the_o people_n to_o a_o whole_a city_n god_n will_v the_o whole_a city_n not_o to_o be_v spare_v but_o to_o be_v put_v to_o punishment_n and_o utter_a desolation_n for_o better_v it_o be_v that_o a_o few_o do_v perish_v *_o than_o god_n true_a worship_n shall_v be_v overthrow_v and_o his_o glory_n decay_n 27_o but_o in_o this_o place_n especial_o as_o in_o the_o other_o also_o before_o man_n proceed_v to_o punishment_n god_n will_v have_v they_o inquire_v and_o search_v out_o the_o matter_n diligent_o that_o they_o as_o the_o manner_n of_o dissolute_a woman_n be_v but_o soft_o within_o herself_o when_o it_o be_v say_v it_o cease_v to_o be_v with_o sarah_n after_o the_o manner_n as_o it_o be_v with_o woman_n the_o meaning_n be_v she_o have_v not_o those_o superfluity_n that_o all_o woman_n natural_o have_v so_o long_o as_o they_o by_o age_n may_v have_v child_n as_o her_o chastity_n be_v to_o be_v reverence_v so_o be_v it_o a_o great_a blame_n and_o fault_n in_o she_o not_o only_o to_o *_o mistrust_n the_o promise_n of_o god_n 18._o but_o also_o to_o laugh_v it_o to_o scorn_n because_o it_o seem_v unlikely_a to_o natural_a reason_n and_o the_o man_n rise_v up_o from_o thence_o look_v towards_o sodom_n 19_o etc_n etc_n abraham_n perform_v that_o which_o be_v the_o three_o part_n of_o hospitality_n that_o be_v courtesy_n in_o dismiss_v his_o gest_n he_o take_v not_o his_o leave_n of_o they_o at_o his_o tent_n but_o perceive_v their_o journey_n towards_o sodom_n go_v part_n of_o the_o way_n with_o they_o which_o his_o pain_n god_n well_o requite_v open_v to_o he_o by_o his_o angel_n the_o purpose_n to_o destroy_v sodom_n for_o the_o horrible_a sin_n and_o wickedness_n care_n they_o devise_v how_o to_o *_o leave_n their_o child_n rich_a and_o wealthy_a 16_o but_o of_o the_o instruction_n and_o teach_n how_o to_o keep_v the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n they_o have_v god_n know_v so_o small_a regard_n as_o though_o it_o do_v nothing_o appertain_v unto_o they_o and_o the_o lord_n say_v 21._o because_o the_o cry_n of_o sodom_n and_o gomorrha_n be_v great_a etc_n signification_n may_v also_o well_o serve_v in_o this_o chapter_n a_o land_n which_o flow_v with_o milk_n and_o honey_n 6._o and_o be_v pleasant_a among_o etc_n etc_n in_o many_o place_n of_o the_o scripture_n the_o land_n of_o chanaan_n be_v mention_v to_o flow_v with_o milk_n and_o honey_n that_o be_v to_o abound_v with_o all_o thing_n necessary_a not_o only_o for_o susteynance_n but_o also_o promise_a messiah_n it_o be_v likely_a the_o land_n itself_o also_o be_v strike_v for_o their_o wickedness_n and_o thereby_o far_o decay_v from_o that_o it_o be_v in_o time_n past_a but_o they_o rebel_v against_o i_o 8._o and_o will_v not_o harken_v to_o i_o they_o do_v etc_n etc_n it_o be_v a_o testimony_n of_o the_o great_a goodness_n &_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o he_o call_v earnest_o to_o we_o may_v gather_v what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o god_n do_v so_o long_o suffer_v his_o people_n to_o continue_v in_o so_o miserable_a oppression_n in_o egypt_n and_o do_v not_o soon_o turn_v his_o merciful_a sustenance_n toward_o they_o and_o that_o be_v because_o they_o have_v almost_o forget_v he_o and_o his_o true_a worship_n deliver_v they_o by_o their_o father_n and_o be_v give_v to_o the_o worship_v of_o strange_a gods._n and_o yet_o god_o will_v not_o even_o then_o pour_v out_o his_o wrath_n upon_o they_o although_o they_o have_v just_o deserve_v it_o but_o for_o his_o own_o name_n sake_n and_o for_o the_o covenant_n that_o he_o have_v make_v with_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n with_o his_o mighty_a hand_n he_o deliver_v they_o i_o wrought_v for_o my_o name_n sake_n 9_o that_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v pollute_v before_o etc_n etc_n i_o stay_v myself_o say_v god_n from_o extremity_n of_o my_o wrath_n and_o from_o work_v utter_a destruction_n not_o for_o my_o people_n sake_n which_o in_o deed_n have_v just_o deserve_v it_o but_o for_o my_o name_n sake_n that_o it_o may_v not_o be_v distain_v and_o evil_o speak_v of_o among_o the_o egyptian_n amalechites_n and_o other_o heathen_a nation_n in_o who_o sight_n my_o great_a work_n be_v wrought_v and_o which_o have_v hear_v of_o my_o purpose_n to_o deliver_v my_o people_n and_o therefore_o will_v have_v 15._o 16._o and_o 17._o num._n 11._o 14._o 16._o 20._o and_o 21._o the_o sanctify_a of_o the_o sabbath_n mention_v verse_n .12_o be_v a_o token_n that_o god_n have_v sanctify_v the_o israelite_n even_o as_o he_o have_v sanctify_v the_o sabbath_n and_o have_v choose_v they_o *_o as_o his_o peculiar_a people_n and_o holy_a priesthood_n 15._o which_o shall_v preserve_v and_o keep_v his_o may_v read_v it_o in_o that_o the_o prophet_n so_o easy_o obtain_v answer_v of_o god_n we_o also_o be_v teach_v that_o when_o with_o earnest_a meditation_n and_o prayer_n we_o seek_v to_o understand_v the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v best_a for_o we_o to_o do_v he_o will_v not_o fail_v by_o his_o grace_n to_o lighten_v our_o mind_n to_o the_o understanding_n thereof_o if_o thou_o seek_v understanding_n say_v solomon_n as_o silver_n 4._o and_o search_v it_o out_o as_o great_a treasure_n thou_o shall_v understand_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o find_v out_o the_o knowledge_n will_v *_o frustrate_v the_o counsel_n of_o such_o person_n but_o the_o good_a just_a man_n which_o with_o a_o assure_a fayth*_n stay_v himself_o upon_o the_o word_n and_o promise_n of_o god_n in_o all_o danger_n both_o worldly_a and_o spiritual_a shall_v not_o fail_v of_o tranquillity_n and_o quietness_n of_o mind_n for_o he_o have_v the_o unfallible_a truth_n &_o the_o almighty_a power_n of_o god_n whereon_o he_o rest_v wherefore_o by_o this_o verse_n the_o prophet_n will_v the_o people_n 6_o to_o *_o lay_n aside_o all_o confidence_n of_o worldly_a help_n and_o to_o rest_v only_o in_o god_n truth_n and_o his_o promise_n this_o sentence_n be_v not_o only_o to_o be_v apply_v to_o worldly_a affliction_n and_o care_n but_o also_o and_o especial_o to_o the_o torment_n of_o conscience_n against_o sin_n and_o satan_n and_o all_o our_o spiritual_a enemy_n 11._o and_o so_o do_v saint_n paul_n use_v galat._n 3_n yea_o in_o deed_n the_o proud_a man_n be_v as_o he_o that_o transgress_v by_o wine_n 5._o therefore_o shall_v etc_n etc_n here_o the_o prophet_n begin_v to_o declare_v what_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o empire_n of_o babylon_n &_o of_o the_o chaldee_n together_o with_o the_o cause_n wherewith_o god_n be_v move_v thereto_o the_o proud_a man_n say_v he_o that_o be_v the_o proud_a and_o ambitious_a babylonian_a be_v like_a to_o a_o drunken_a man_n that_o have_v pass_v all_o measure_n in_o drink_v of_o wine_n as_o in_o the_o drunkarde_a the_o vapour_n of_o the_o wine_n ascend_v to_o the_o head_n so_o trouble_v the_o brain_n and_o take_v away_o the_o right_a use_n of_o sense_n and_o reason_n that_o without_o shame_n or_o measure_n he_o run_v headlong_o to_o all_o filthiness_n and_o the_o more_o he_o have_v pour_v in_o the_o more_o still_o he_o desire_v to_o drink_v even_o so_o the_o proud_a and_o *_o ambitious_a spirit_n of_o the_o babylonian_a do_v so_o trouble_v his_o mind_n with_o vain_a imagination_n
