just_o threaten_v that_o he_o will_v take_v away_o from_o they_o the_o care_n of_o his_o divine_a providence_n and_o the_o government_n of_o good_a law_n and_o prince_n wherewith_o they_o be_v quiet_a trust_n in_o god_n 9_o *_o though_o for_o the_o time_n they_o feel_v some_o trouble_n hurt_n and_o scarcity_n by_o the_o enemy_n besiege_v they_o yet_o shall_v they_o not_o perish_v &_o be_v oppress_v but_o at_o their_o first_o complaint_n and_o call_n upon_o he_o 20._o he_o will_v have_v mercy_n on_o they_o and_o although_o the_o assyrian_n shall_v seem_v so_o to_o have_v waste_v their_o country_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o have_v any_o sustenance_n to_o live_v by_o god_n yet_o will_v so_o merciful_o deal_v with_o they_o that_o he_o shall_v give_v they_o plenty_n of_o food_n with_o rain_n and_o prosperous_a weather_n to_o maintain_v the_o same_o yea_o 6_o and_o as_o a_o pastor_n follow_v his_o flock_n do_v guide_v they_o with_o his_o 〈◊〉_d unto_o the_o right_a way_n so_o shall_v the_o lord_n send_v they_o prophet_n prince_n and_o ruler_n that_o shall_v govern_v and_o guide_v they_o that_o they_o in_o their_o do_n may_v go_v neither_o on_o the_o right_a hand_n nor_o on_o the_o left_a but_o keep_v the_o straight_a and_o true_a way_n 22._o but_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o only_o require_v of_o they_o that_o they_o shall_v remain_v with_o quiet_a trust_n and_o confidence_n in_o he_o â—_o but_o also_o that_o they_o shall_v destroy_v and_o cast_v away_o their_o filthy_a idol_n the_o *_o worship_n whereof_o have_v lead_v they_o from_o the_o true_a service_n of_o god_n and_o before_o they_o be_v for_o to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o danger_n and_o heaviness_n the_o sun_n and_o moon_n do_v seem_v dark_a and_o dim_a and_o when_o they_o be_v deliver_v all_o thing_n for_o joy_n seem_v more_o bright_a and_o comfortable_a and_o because_o these_o particular_a deliverance_n of_o the_o jew_n from_o their_o enemy_n often_o in_o the_o prophet_n be_v figure_n of_o the_o great_a deliverance_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n from_o their_o spiritual_a enemy_n by_o christ_n jesus_n this_o whole_a place_n may_v well_o be_v interpret_v of_o the_o happy_a and_o *_o spiritual_a success_n 3_o that_o by_o christ_n shall_v come_v to_o the_o faithful_a and_o of_o the_o great_a brightness_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n which_o then_o shall_v shiâ—e_v far_o more_o plentiful_o then_o fall_n either_o to_o flat_a idolatry_n or_o to_o very_o gross_a superstition_n wherefore_o god_n bridle_v here_o this_o looseness_n of_o his_o people_n and_o say_v they_o may_v not_o do_v so_o to_o from_o the_o false_a prophet_n to_o the_o people_n and_o from_o some_o of_o the_o people_n to_o a_o whole_a city_n god_n will_v the_o whole_a city_n not_o to_o be_v spare_v but_o to_o be_v put_v to_o punishment_n and_o utter_a desolation_n for_o better_v it_o be_v that_o a_o few_o do_v perish_v *_o than_o god_n true_a worship_n shall_v be_v overthrow_v and_o his_o glory_n decay_n 27_o but_o in_o this_o place_n especial_o as_o in_o the_o other_o also_o before_o man_n proceed_v to_o punishment_n god_n will_v have_v they_o inquire_v and_o search_v out_o the_o matter_n diligent_o that_o they_o put_v confidence_n and_o trust_n in_o he_o the_o rubenites_n and_o gadites_n josuah_n appoint_v to_o go_v before_o their_o brethren_n because_o they_o have_v their_o possession_n assign_v they_o on_o that_o side_n of_o jordane_n and_o forsomuch_o as_o they_o have_v that_o pre-eminence_n first_o to_o know_v their_o portion_n of_o the_o land_n of_o promise_n it_o may_v seem_v good_a reason_n that_o that_o god_n cast_v upon_o his_o people_n be_v note_v to_o be_v the_o increase_n of_o their_o wickedness_n and_o contempt_n of_o god_n and_o his_o word_n shall_v i_o then_o for_o all_o this_o 9_o have_v mercy_n upon_o thou_o thy_o child_n have_v etc_n etc_n god_n here_o show_v that_o of_o necessity_n his_o very_a justice_n force_v he_o sharp_o to_o punish_v they_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v lust_n in_o such_o sort_n that_o they_o become_v as_o stallion_n or_o stone_n horse_n every_o one_o neigh_v at_o his_o neighbour_n wife_n by_o which_o comparison_n he_o marvellous_o set_v forth_o their_o outrageous_a incontinency_n and_o dissolute_a life_n and_o give_v we_o also_o to_o understand_v how_o easy_o wealth_n and_o *_o plenty_n do_v breed_v looseness_n and_o wantonness_n 27_o if_o we_o learn_v not_o to_o use_v with_o reverence_n and_o fear_v the_o good_a blessing_n that_o god_o pour_v upon_o we_o and_o that_o god_n also_o will_v be_v avenge_v of_o we_o for_o the_o same_o for_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o punish_v the_o same_o in_o we_o as_o well_o as_o he_o do_v in_o the_o jew_n and_o so_o he_o here_o earnest_o affirm_v when_o he_o say_v shall_v i_o not_o be_v avenge_v on_o every_o people_n that_o be_v like_a unto_o this_o etc_n etc_n climb_v up_o upon_o their_o wall_n 10._o beat_v they_o down_o and_o destroy_v they_o not_o utter_o etc_n etc_n this_o be_v speak_v by_o god_n to_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o jew_n as_o it_o be_v to_o hasten_v and_o encourage_v they_o to_o plague_n that_o naughty_a people_n by_o which_o manner_n of_o speak_v god_n give_v his_o people_n to_o understand_v both_o that_o the_o invasion_n of_o their_o enemy_n that_o shall_v come_v upon_o they_o be_v only_o at_o the_o appointment_n &_o call_v of_o god_n and_o that_o they_o their_o strong_a &_o sense_v city_n or_o otherwise_o in_o these_o word_n and_o destroy_v they_o not_o utter_o god_n limit_v the_o power_n of_o the_o enemy_n &_o leave_v hope_n of_o pardon_n to_o his_o people_n if_o they_o will_v in_o any_o time_n repent_v and_o turn_v unto_o he_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n use_v all_o mean_n that_o may_v be_v to_o provoke_v they_o to_o leave_v their_o wickedness_n before_o he_o bring_v upon_o they_o extreme_a desolation_n and_o confusion_n in_o the_o 11._o 12._o 13._o verse_n god_n again_o allege_v the_o just_a cause_n of_o their_o plague_n that_o be_v that_o they_o have_v unfaytheful_o by_o apostasy_n forsake_v he_o deny_v his_o providence_n contemn_v the_o threaten_n of_o his_o prophet_n 2._o as_o *_o false_a vain_a and_o foolish_a and_o say_v that_o
