tend_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o a_o scruple_n arise_v whether_o he_o shall_v do_v it_o or_o not_o for_o fear_v of_o vain_a glory_n or_o lest_o happy_o he_o may_v be_v to_o some_o offensive_a then_o ought_v he_o to_o lift_v up_o his_o mind_n unto_o god_n and_o if_o he_o perceive_v that_o it_o may_v be_v do_v to_o his_o glory_n then_o i_o say_v free_o to_o do_v it_o or_o say_v demand_n a_o account_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o he_o shall_v commit_v or_o omit_v do_v they_o under_o the_o obedience_n of_o his_o ghostly_a father_n the_o 10._o rule_n ignorance_n of_o the_o difference_n betwixt_o a_o th●ught_n and_o a_o consent_n be_v a_o especial_a great_a cause_n that_o breed_v scruple_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v note_v that_o a_o evil_a thought_n may_v be_v consider_v four_o several_a way_n for_o sometime_o it_o be_v reject_v present_o so_o soon_o as_o it_o arise_v and_o then_o we_o meritt_v in_o that_o therein_o we_o overcome_v the_o enemy_n sometime_o it_o continue_v for_o a_o certain_a space_n and_o yet_o without_o full_a consent_n and_o then_o it_o be_v a_o ●e●ial_a sin_n great_a or_o lesser_a according_a to_o the_o time_n it_o shall_v continue_v in_o confess_v this_o thought_n it_o be_v not_o of_o necessity_n to_o confess_v the_o circumstance_n that_o arise_v but_o it_o shall_v suffice_v to_o declare_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o sin_n say_v i_o confess_v that_o i_o have_v have_v such_o a_o dishonest_a thought_n or_o a_o thought_n of_o anger_n or_o of_o vain_a glory_n or_o the_o like_a and_o have_v not_o as_o i_o ought_v present_o resist_v it_o sometime_o consent_n be_v give_v to_o the_o thought_n with_o a_o desire_n if_o opportunity_n serve_v to_o execute_v it_o in_o act_n and_o then_o it_o be_v a_o mortal_a sin_n if_o the_o substance_n or_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o thought_n be_v a_o mortal_a sin_n sometime_o a_o delight_n be_v take_v in_o the_o thought_n of_o sin_n so_o that_o full_a consent_n be_v give_v to_o delight_n in_o the_o thought_n but_o yet_o without_o a_o mind_n to_o effect_v the_o same_o and_o then_o it_o be_v also_o a_o mortal_a sin_n if_o a_o man_n purposely_o do_v imprint_v in_o his_o thought_n the_o imagination_n of_o a_o matter_n which_o in_o his_o own_o nature_n it_o a_o mortal_a sin_n and_o in_o that_o thought_n full_o and_o perfect_o consent_v to_o take_v delight_n as_o in_o some_o immodest_a or_o dishonest_a act_n or_o the_o like_a but_o if_o such_o a_o thought_n happe●_n unto_o we_o but_o accidental_o and_o not_o deliberate_o and_o so_o shall_v endure_v some_o time_n i●_n the_o mind_n yet_o whole_o without_o any_o fu●_n consent_n then_o be_v such_o a_o think_v but_o only_o venial_a sometime_o again_o we_o endeavour_v to_o reject_v some_o evil_a thought_n which_o w●_n find_v ourselves_o to_o be_v most_o usual_o assault_v with_o but_o yet_o we_o can_v speedy_o do_v it_o for_o that_o our_o mind_n be_v overmuch_o encumber_v with_o such_o suggestion_n and_o then_o be_v such_o a_o think_v no_o sin_n at_o al._n the_o 11._o rule_n even_o as_o he_o that_o live_v not_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n do_v easy_o and_o often_o fall_v into_o mortal_a sin_n at_o the_o lest_o in_o thought_n so_o he_o that_o live_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o will_v choose_v rather_o to_o die_v then_o willing_o to_o offend_v he_o seldom_o or_o never_o offend_v mortal_o for_o which_o cause_n a_o scrupulous_a body_n ought_v not_o easy_o to_o think_v that_o his_o sin_n be_v mortal_a the_o 12._o rule_n some_o person_n be_v ever_o trouble_v with_o unclean_a thought_n other_o seem_v to_o themselves_o that_o they_o continual_o blaspheme_v god_n and_o his_o saint_n and_o thereby_o be_v still_o vex_v and_o molest_v in_o their_o mind_n and_o especial_o at_o such_o time_n as_o they_o shall_v go_v to_o confession_n for_o both_o they_o be_v ashamed_a to_o confess_v such_o scruple_n and_o yet_o they_o think_v themselves_o bind_v to_o discover_v they_o wherein_o they_o be_v deceive_v for_o although_o a_o man_n for_o many_o year_n together_o shall_v find_v himself_o contrary_a to_o his_o will_n trouble_v with_o such_o ill_a thought_n and_o suggestion_n yet_o resist_v they_o he_o shall_v not_o only_o not_o sin_n but_o also_o merit_v thereby_o exceed_o and_o therefore_o ought_v not_o to_o confess_v as_o a_o sin_n that_o which_o turn_v to_o his_o great_a merit_n with_o such_o temptation_n according_a to_o the_o opinion_n of_o the_o father_n be_v the_o b._n apostle_n s._n paul_n trouble_v to_o who_o our_o lord_n answer_v when_o he_o desire_v to_o be_v free_v
