gospel_n sake_n now_o if_o it_o be_v a_o doctrine_n of_o man_n it_o will_v fit_v their_o nature_n well_o and_o they_o will_v love_v it_o for_o the_o world_n do_v love_v his_o own_o joh._n 15._o 19_o three_o if_o they_o be_v bless_v that_o suffer_v persecution_n then_o how_o may_v any_o man_n lawful_o fly_v in_o persecution_n answer_n a_o man_n may_v fly_v in_o persecution_n with_o good_a conscience_n these_o two_o thing_n observe_v first_o that_o he_o be_v persecution_n not_o hinder_v by_o his_o particular_a call_n second_o that_o he_o have_v liberty_n offer_v by_o god_n providence_n to_o escape_v the_o hand_n of_o his_o enemy_n the_o intent_n of_o this_o verse_n be_v not_o to_o forbid_v flight_n but_o to_o comfort_v such_o as_o be_v in_o persecution_n and_o can_v escape_v for_o whether_o be_v they_o always_o curse_v that_o suffer_v deserve_o for_o a_o evil_a cause_n for_o the_o contrary_a reason_n be_v in_o contrary_n ans._n they_o be_v always_o accurse_v save_v in_o one_o case_n to_o wit_n unless_o they_o repent_v for_o their_o unrighteousness_n for_o which_o they_o be_v afflict_v but_o by_o true_a repentance_n they_o become_v bless_v the_o thief_n upon_o the_o cross_n adultery_n as_o first_o read_v of_o unchaste_a and_o wanton_a book_n of_o love_n matter_n and_o use_v light_n and_o wanton_a talk_n many_o be_v give_v to_o these_o kind_n of_o delight_n but_o they_o must_v know_v that_o herein_o they_o 1_o sin_v grievous_o for_o they_o have_v not_o only_o a_o wanton_a eye_n but_o a_o lascivious_a tongue_n also_o second_o the_o act_n of_o all_o such_o play_n and_o comedy_n the_o 2_o matter_n whereof_o be_v the_o representation_n of_o the_o light_a behaviour_n of_o man_n &_o woman_n for_o therein_o be_v idle_a and_o curious_a look_n set_v forth_o to_o the_o eye_n which_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v be_v here_o condemn_v three_o the_o wear_n 3_o of_o vain_a and_o light_a attire_n whereby_o other_o be_v provoke_v to_o cast_v their_o eye_n upon_o they_o unto_o lust_n for_o if_o the_o light_n and_o wanton_a eye_n be_v condemn_v then_o that_o which_o cause_v it_o be_v much_o more_o condemn_v this_o aught_o to_o be_v regard_v for_o light_n and_o foreign_a attire_n be_v a_o secret_a profession_n of_o a_o unchaste_a heart_n four_o mix_v dance_v of_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o 4_o time_n and_o measure_n for_o therein_o be_v more_o occasion_n and_o provocation_n unto_o lust_n then_o by_o the_o bare_a behold_v of_o each_o other_o with_o the_o eye_n five_o 5_o evil_a company_n so_o be_v the_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n paul_n out_o of_o a_o heathen_a poet_n thaide_n evil_a conversing_n corrupt_v good_a manner_n which_o may_v well_o include_v that_o unseem_o converse_v of_o man_n with_o woman_n not_o warrant_v either_o by_o the_o general_a or_o particular_a call_n six_o the_o 6_o pamper_n of_o the_o body_n with_o dainty_a meat_n or_o strong_a drink_n this_o be_v the_o sin_n 49._o of_o sodom_n and_o it_o be_v much_o more_o a_o occasion_n of_o lust_n than_o the_o bare_a sight_n of_o the_o eye_n seven_o idleness_n and_o laziness_n in_o not_o 7_o employ_v the_o body_n in_o some_o honest_a call_n for_o thereby_o also_o be_v lust_n incite_v and_o thus_o much_o of_o the_o meaning_n of_o this_o commandment_n forbid_v all_o occasion_n to_o adultery_n under_o a_o lustful_a eye_n now_o consider_v that_o a_o man_n be_v guilty_a of_o adultery_n that_o use_v the_o occasion_n thereof_o hereby_o we_o may_v see_v that_o we_o can_v excuse_v ourselves_o from_o the_o breach_n of_o this_o law_n for_o though_o we_o be_v clean_o from_o the_o bodily_a outward_a fact_n yet_o who_o can_v say_v my_o heart_n be_v clean_a who_o be_v free_a from_o the_o occasion_n thereof_o as_o from_o a_o wanton_a eye_n vain_a apparel_n wanton_a speech_n intemperance_n and_o the_o rest_n all_o which_o make_v we_o culpable_a of_o this_o sin_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v lay_v our_o hand_n upon_o our_o mouth_n and_o condemn_v ourselves_o of_o guilt_n before_o god_n we_o must_v humble_v ourselves_o acknowledge_v our_o sin_n and_o breach_n of_o this_o commandment_n and_o last_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n of_o all_o occasion_n that_o may_v move_v or_o incite_v we_o unto_o lust_n or_o wantonness_n the_o second_o point_n which_o our_o saviour_n christ_n propound_v in_o the_o interpretation_n of_o this_o law_n be_v this_o that_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o heart_n though_o it_o never_o come_v into_o act_n be_v adultery_n now_o that_o we_o may_v know_v what_o our_o saviour_n christ_n mean_v by_o lust_n sundry_a point_n be_v to_o be_v handle_v first_o how_o lust_n can_v be_v a_o sin_n consider_v it_o be_v only_o a_o hide_a desire_n of_o the_o heart_n second_o how_o lust_n can_v be_v a_o sin_n of_o the_o seven_o commandment_n see_v it_o be_v forbid_v in_o the_o ten_o and_o three_o how_o great_a a_o sin_n lust_n be_v for_o the_o first_o that_o lust_n be_v a_o sin_n be_v thus_o prove_v god_n law_n require_v sin_n obedience_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n both_o in_o soul_n and_o body_n and_o in_o every_o part_n faculty_n and_o power_n thereof_o thou_o 37._o shall_v love_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n with_o all_o thy_o heart_n with_o all_o thy_o soul_n and_o with_o all_o thy_o strength_n and_o that_o obedience_n which_o come_v not_o from_o the_o whole_a man_n be_v sinful_a now_o when_o a_o man_n conceive_v unchaste_a thought_n in_o his_o heart_n than_o his_o soul_n and_o mind_n &_o his_o affection_n have_v not_o do_v their_o duty_n unto_o god_n and_o so_o he_o sin_v in_o lust_a yet_o this_o doctrine_n be_v never_o receive_v of_o all_o but_o some_o have_v still_o except_v against_o it_o and_o their_o principal_a reason_n be_v two_o 1._o they_o say_v lust_n pelagâ—anâ—_n be_v a_o natural_a inclination_n desire_n and_o appetite_n which_o be_v in_o adam_n before_o his_o fall_n and_o so_o can_v be_v a_o sin_n ans._n lust_n or_o appetite_n in_o the_o heart_n be_v not_o simple_o a_o sin_n for_o so_o it_o be_v a_o natural_a desire_n which_o be_v in_o our_o first_o parent_n in_o their_o integrity_n but_o to_o lust_n after_o that_o which_o god_n forbid_v that_o be_v the_o sin_n as_o for_o a_o man_n to_o lust_n after_o a_o woman_n or_o a_o woman_n after_o a_o man_n not_o be_v man_n and_o wife_n which_o we_o see_v here_o christ_n condemn_v 2._o they_o say_v god_n bless_v adulterer_n and_o fornicator_n in_o their_o lust_n with_o the_o issue_n of_o seed_n in_o childbearing_n as_o well_o as_o man_n and_o wife_n in_o lawful_a marriage_n and_o therefore_o it_o can_v be_v a_o sin_n ans._n in_o adultery_n two_o thing_n may_v be_v consider_v the_o unlawful_a lust_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o act_n of_o generation_n now_o when_o god_n give_v issue_n to_o adulterer_n and_o fornicator_n it_o be_v no_o approbation_n of_o their_o sinful_a lust_n but_o only_o a_o common_a blessing_n of_o natural_a generation_n which_o be_v his_o own_o ordinance_n by_o creation_n for_o howsoever_o god_n approve_v
